Wow. Just wow. This really was a resort disguised as a lodge and farm. The rooms were gorgeous, super clean, and welcoming. The food was unbelievable. The safari … spectacular. The guides knew the best places for us to see all the animals in the park. And I still haven’t mentioned the most incredible part. The Staff. The staff was exceptional. Over and above doesn’t describe it well enough. From the owner to the table servers to the gardeners, there was a clear sense of how can we make your experience better. Highly recommend! And it was a short ride from the airport.

Our family of 5 stayed 2 nights at Ololo Lodge and it was a perfect start to our 11-day safari in Kenya. The Stable Cottage had plenty of room for us all - a lovely large master suite with ensuite and 2 other bedrooms with a shared bathroom, as well as a huge kitchen and living area. All beautifully decorated and visited daily by the cheeky resident monkeys (don't forget to lock the door!) We loved our tour of the farm with Kevin, the delicious farm-fresh menus which changed for every lunch and dinner and the exciting game drives with Washington. Washington was so experienced that we were the only vehicle alongside a lioness with her 7 cubs and at plenty of other wildlife sightings. A big thank you to Washington, James and Susan for your warm hospitality, we felt very well looked after and loved chatting with you all. Also to Jim and Joanna - we enjoyed finding out about your family's story and how you came to create the wonderful Ololo Lodge. We would love to come back!

A really interesting, quaint hotel. Located off of Nairobi National Park. The positives included that the employees we most interacted with, our waiter, James, and our guide, Washington, were both excellent people and a joy to be around. And the room we had was certainly large and quite comfortable, while the grounds and pool were stunning. The food as well was truly excellent. However, we had several issues with this lodge. The first occurred before we even arrived, as they somehow made a mistake in reserving our day room for our last day. To be fair to them, they quickly offered solutions to the issue, by either allowing us to stay on the grounds but not have a room or by booking us an alternative dayroom (which is what we did), but finding this out just before we arrived at their hotel was certainly stressful. Secondly, and perhaps related to the first issue, a lot of the more senior people seemed rather unorganized. We never received our welcome briefing, so we lacked some knowledge about the hotel (For example the wifi password in the information book in the room did not work for us, but we had no information about the new password), and it took us asking about the resolution of the day room issue, and our waiter calling about this, for us to find out what was happening. Another more minor issue was that one of our bathrooms was full of ants, and so not really usable. Finally, it’s worth mentioning the airplane noise. The grounds are right under the final approach for JKIA, and the sound was loud enough that conversation was not possible when one was overhead. This continued throughout the night, the rest of my family slept well but I had a very tough sleep with the noise. I can certainly understand why people like this lodge, but I think we will look elsewhere when we return to Nairobi.

Such a special personalised experience. Craig and Joanna are warm and caring hosts. The staff also are fun and so welcoming. And the food is divine! Nearly everything is sourced from their organic farm. |The lodge is serene and private with so much to do. The game drives run by very professional guides. |Highly recommend this special place!

Really lovely family run place right outside of Nairobi. Our groups stayed here while we visited the Sheldrick elephant orphanage for our private visit. This was the best place to stay for something like that. Right next to the National Park. Rooms were super cute, food delicious and great staff. Beautiful gardens!

Had the absolute best time at Ololo Safari Lodge last week. Arranging pickup from our nearby hotel was easy and we were greeted warmly upon arrival. The main staff we worked with were James and Susan and they treated us like family from the very beginning. They took our celiac/gluten concerns seriously and had specific dishes ready for us for every meal. The food was DELICIOUS with nearly everything being sourced from their on-site farms.||We stayed in one of the tented rooms and we were shocked at how luxurious they were. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean. Staff came in each day to prepare the bed for sleeping by lowering the bug nets, and they even offered complimentary laundry services. Even with the forest surrounding us, we felt very safe.||The game drives occurred every morning and evening and were definitely a highlight. Being that the lodge is located on the outskirts of Nairobi National Park, they have direct access to thousands of acres of wilderness. Our safari driver, Soy, was a true professional. Soy knew the park like the back of his hand and was knowledgeable of all of the wildlife that live there. We had incredible wildlife encounters thanks to Soy's expertise.||Leaving the lodge was truly difficult for us as we had really enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave. James and Susan came to give us a proper send-off and hugs were given all around. As James had explained, everyone grows quite close and you start to feel like family. I can't recommend this experience highly enough and we can't wait to return one day!!
