Olveston House

Just a great place to eat. Beautiful and atmospheric setting, really good food, wonderful staff and not too expensive. We went three times on our last visit- the Wednesday BBQ was top class and it was lovely to share the evening with so many smartly-dressed Montserratians. Generous portions and great desserts too. We cam for "Pub night" which was a different- but equally good- vibe. Sunday lunch is an institution and must-do- so we did. Gorgeous food yet again. All the staff are wonderful but specific praise to Margaret and Susanna (and Susanna's daughter) for being so welcoming. If you are lucky enough to be in Montserrat, please go there!

We had dinner here Friday night with our local hosts. All in all our party totaled 9 persons. Our servers were friendly and accommodating. Food was served quite quickly for such a large group. Many options to choose from on the menu and all were pleased with their choices. Would definitely visiting again next time I’m in Montserrat. Dining is on the outdoor verandah which is quite large and spacious with a nice wind factor as well to keep you cool.

Brilliant place. Excellent rooms and great breakfasts. The restaurant was really nice although not open on our first 2 nights.

Customer service is one thing. Kindness is another. Visited Montserrat for work on a very short trip. Although the hotel was very quiet because they were closing, the operators were very kind and it was a pleasure to stay. I will definitely return.

Fantastic food, great service, great drinks, reasonable prices, interesting history, lovely grounds...Olveston House had it all and was another of our top restaurants during our 3 weeks stay in Montserrat. We liked it so much we went 4 times. Daily changing menu with fresh ingredients. Sad that we missed out on several Wed BBQ nights as they were sold old well in advance of our arrival on-island. Recommend to contact the restaurant to book the BBQ night well in advance.

Margaret and Chef Sarah could not have been sweeter, kinder or more helpful. I was astounded by the highest level of care and attention we received. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was wonderful. I would stay here again and recommend it highly. The villa was a little run down but the service could not be beat.

Some amazing food at the Olveston House. Stopped by for lunch and had a great corner table on the porch. The bartender made some amazing drinks. Service was outstanding and the food simply amazing. Stuffed Chicken Breast was outstanding and the rest of our meals equally memorable. To finish off, a little home made ice cream solidified no dinner would be needed that Sunday. Can’t wait to return.

If you are expecting a large luxury resort, or a budget dive with constant parties, as many do when they visit the region, you will be disappointed. In fact, please go elsewhere and leave it to those who appreciate its immense charm.||It once belonged to Sir George Martin who made this island famous for the music ledgends who came to record at his Air Studios. I'm told it remains in the family.||The service is warm and personal. Margaret, the manager took excellent care of us, and Sarah was very patient with us and our late breakfasts.||While the hotel is well cared for, note that it is an older building - and all the better for it. The Tennis court and pool are dated but functional. This is the last full Service hotel on Montserrat. If you're staying longer than a week, you may want to consider a villa vacation rental. If you're here for less than that and haven't rented a car, this place is Ideal. The only thing missing is a sea view , but the view of the volcano at sunset more than makes up for it.
