"See Munich from on High at the Olympic Tower Take a quick, ear-popping elevator ride to the observation deck of the Olympiaturm (190 meters or 623 feet), in the center of Olympic Park, and see across the whole city—as far as the Alps, in clear weather. The last elevator goes up at 11:30pm, making it a good way to see the city lights. And if standing on the observation deck isn't your thing, make a reservation in the revolving restaurant and watch the city views roll by. By AFAR Traveler , AFAR Contributor"

For the best views, it is recommended to visit in the morning or just before sunset. A bright day is also essential because favorable weather is crucial for stunning views. The experience was simply fantastic. From 200 meters above the earth, the best views of Munich were breathtaking. From the top of that tower, you can even enjoy alps. It's a television tower that elevators may ascend. It was constructed for the 1972 Olympics. I had a great day there

Love the view at the observation deck. There is a restaurant and café up there. The souvenirs shop was located near the ticket booth. It was closed when I got there around 6 or 7 pm on a Friday night. There is souther restaurant at the ground floor. Parking garage is nearby, reasonably priced. About 5 euros for 2 hrs. I would recommend visiting this observation tower, and walk around the park as well. ,

Great big park in Munich. Easily accessible by public transport, it’s the perfect place to enjoy nature in the city. Beautiful lake, sport activities, festivals, food stands. You can enjoy a day there with the entire family

Magnificent view of the entire Munich city.... Ticket price is 15 euro. Inside top of tower there is information center about Olympic park and Munich city major landmark... Information center is concealed with glass and there are 2 more level on top of it which are open but care must be take as it gets windy. One must visit this place for its mesmerizing view..

The best time to visit is in morning or before sunset for best views and yeah sunny day is must because nice weather counts most for good views. The visit was just awesome. The best views of Munich city above the ground 200 meters were incredible. Even you can enjoy alps on top of that tower. It is television tower which you can climb by elevator. It was built in 1972 for Olympic. Had amazing time there but my bad luck because mobile dead for shooting nice views 😢

It was 1964 when the Munich City Council decided to build a television tower on what was then known as Oberwiesenfeld - to improve the radio and TV programmes for the city's citizens. The 1972 Summer Olympics turned the tower into a world-famous landmark of the city and a major public attraction in the Olympic Park. By May 2024, around 45 million visitors had taken the lift to the viewing platforms at a height of 190 metres in just 30 seconds in the five and a half decades since it opened in 1968.

Yelp
I stumbled across this must visit spot when I arrived to check out the BMW Museum and Welt. It is the tallest building in Munich and offers unrivaled views. This is a must see while in town. There is a restaurant, but I think you have to book ahead of time. The cafe there is ok, but the service is slow as there is one guy and he puts effort into the drinks he makes. Lastly this visit allows me to stumble onto a music festival that I will now be attending. A must see.

Yelp
Well worth the €9 to get 185 meters above the ground by elevator on this crisp and clear day. Definitely keep an eye on the weather before you make the trek as it's only worth it if it's a clear day. And today? Clear as clear can be. Despite Oktoberfest being well underway, on this Saturday afternoon there was no waiting to pay the entrance fee and only a minute or so to wait for the next elevator to whisk me to the enclosed observation deck. So far, all of this is completely accessible. The enclosed observation deck is a full 360 degrees view and you can walk all the way around. Etched on the glass are pointers that tell you what that structure is off in the distance. That was helpful. There is also the Rock Museum (which is not about stones but is actually about music). It was not crowded at all. At this point, the handicap accessible ends. There is a stair case up to an open area (bars to prevent people from going over) and then *another* set of stairs for a completely unobstructed view of the skyline with no bars. It was windy as heck and I was a little worried that it would take my phone out of my hands. The view? Amazing. All the way to the horizon. Simply beautiful! [Round number review 12000 overall, 1783 of 2019.] I try to get my round number reviews to land on something awesome. My 11,000th was the CN Tower in Toronto. 10,000 was the SkyWalk Observatory in Boston's Prudential Tower. So it's cool that my 12,000th landed here in München!

Yelp
View is perfect. Reservation needed. Quite expensive. Food is so so. Fish was hard and not so fresh. Ice cream is looks too red.

Yelp
Nice and the view is stunning. Although the restaurant is closed for COVID reasons. Therefore is the admittance of 9€/person quite expensive for just the ride up and down..

Yelp
A wonderful multi level tower to view olympic park and the city from. There is a level behind glass - each window has a map to tell you what you are looking at (when the weather is clear, you can see lots) The second and third levels are outside to get better pictures! Yes it was not cheap, but i love towers - so it was priceless to me! The small rock and roll exhibit was a little quaint. Something interesting to listen to and read.

Yelp
Site of the 1972 Olympic Games. The tower overlooking the stadium is a good place to visit for amazing views over Munich. On a good day they say you can see as far as the Alps. The day we went was very overcast but that didn't distract from the views. Cost is €5.50 per adult. The lift travels at 7 metres per second so in no time you're 181 metres into the sky. The viewing platforms give 360 degree views over Munich - pretty epic if you ask me!! You can also go upstairs and outside and those views are spectacular. There is also a rock museum at the top which is worth spending a view minutes in looking at memorabilia from stars such as Kylie, Robbie Williams, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Rolling Stones, Kurt Cobain, The Beatles and lots more.

Yelp
The Olympiaturm, one of the iconic monuments of the Munich skyline. You can see it from all sorts of vantage points in the city.

Yelp
Not really worth the 7 euros admission to go up to the top. Sure you could see for miles, but not that exciting. Walked around the circle once and checked out the tiny rock museum.

Yelp
We visited the Olympiaturm when visiting the BMW Welt in Olympia Park. Yes, it's a nice view, but I think we would have preferred to keep our 9 euros. You can get a nice view of the city from the church towers for less money, and get your "scenic" views from one of the many cable car/lift options outside Munich (we did Karwendel this trip and it was great). If you have to push to get this to fit in your schedule, I'd recommend skipping it. But if you have the time, it is a nice view.

Yelp
This is a really nice spot (the only?) spot to get a view from the city of München. The tower is located in the awesome Olympiapark which is well worth a visit. Riding the elevator is fun as it goes at 7 m/s. Hold off on the Weissbier because it'll make your stomach go up and down. The view is great. At the closest you have a great view of the Olympia stadium and the BMW museum and plant. Further out you get a view of the city, and we could barely make out the mountains in the background, but it wasn't a very clear day.

Yelp
When visiting a new city it is always a good idea to find high ground and take in the view. The Olympia Tower offers panoramic views for around 7 EUR per person. There's an indoor portion with a cafe and probably a restroom, since the entire place smelled of crap, which made it difficult for me to remain indoors and explore the helpful graphics on the glass indicating various points of interests (Nurnberg palace, the Alps, etc). Despite the cold in late December I went outside and onto the higher platform to take in the beautify of Munich on a sunny day. The view and the pictures are definitely worth the price. The Olympia tower is located in the gorgeous Olympia park that is probably very pleasant in Summer. There's a large hill that offers nice views as well. BMW Welt is pretty much across the street, and the Olympia mall is a relaxing 20 minute walk through the park. There's a souvenir shop, of course, with standard German offerings: Steins with local points of interest, spoons, chocolates, etc.

Yelp
Gorgeous views of stadium from top of tower, especially during fall foliage season. Small rock 'n' roll museum at top of tower, too. Very unusual and challenging miniature golf course nearby (a must!); chat with the gentleman at cash register, whose father started this business many years ago. We loved seeing gigantic swimming pool and enormous ice skating rink in park buildings. On day of our visit, there was a free huge sports Expo. Memorial stone seemed inadequate and boat rental was closed (disappointing). A good break on a sunny day; how many consecutive days can we spend in castles & palaces?!

Yelp
I went up this tower after visiting the BMW welt. Munich seems even more beautiful from there and the admission is cheap (4.5 euros per person. Compare it to the 3.5 euros you have to pay to climb the scary stairs to get to the head of the Bavaria statue)
