The food is very tasty with good portions. The Omelette and bread are good but they don't give you enough jam to really slather it on the bread and the croissants. The drinks have good ingredients but the sizes are way way too small. The smoothies are much bigger anywhere else. At 220 NT for an Acai smoothie I was completely underwhelmed by the small size.

Nice place to dine. The dishes are good in quality and presentation. The portion is big, for small eater, a main course can serve two persons. Their sets are value of money, it come with soup, desert and drink. The desert you can choose from Terimisu or Ice cream, both are great! Again portion is big, you can see from my photos. The ice cream is not sweet, so u don't have to worry. Five of us order 5 different sets, they were all great. Cod fish, beef, chicken, pork knuckles, sausages... all nicely cook. We enjoy the meals time. The service was great, the one who served us was polite, patient and attentive to our needs. Will come back again.

I had high expectations, but... Unfortunately, it's just an expensive and typical Taiwanese bakery trying to get some "German flavors", the bread is too expensive, not as tasty as I expected. I'll be back again to try the German sausages. Seems the staff are not really willing to deal with foreigners

Delightful meals, various ways to combine salad, appetizers, beverage, main courses and side dishes to your satisfaction. Very friendly and patient staffs. The bake goods are much more authentic comparing to other bakeries. Plus very reasonable pricing. 10% off if you buy it while dinning at the restaurant. I wish there was a bit more elbow space. Other than that, it's a great dinning experience. Danke Schoen!

This is not an authentic German restaurant and I say that as a German. First the positive things: - The waitress was nice and educated us about vegan and vegetarian options - The waitress speaks English - There are a handful of good dishes. E.g. the potato salad and the potato pancakes - Taste was good - Bread seems solid but you don't have to bake it yourself The negative things: - It is a German restaurant, then you should also know that a wheat beer must be served in a wheat beer glass. On the picture you can clearly see that is the wrong glass! - There is pizza? - When the neighbors ordered pork knuckle with rice, I almost fell off my chair. No German restaurant that I know of serves rice! This fact alone is too much for me. At least there were no ice cubes in the beer. - Cheese spaetzle are gratinated not deep-fried as it says on the menu - The ambience could be more German. I think the Asian lanterns don't fit at all Even though the food was tasty I must say this is not a good German restaurant

(With English menu)I had a lunch in here before, and the experience was good. However, I had a dinner here this time. I really think it’s not really German style. If u recognize as a western restaurant is ok. The meat are just acceptable. The salad and cake is ok, but not special. The price is higher than average in this area. I spent around 850NTD for a normal portion of dinner, which surprised me.

German food in Taipei? This is the place to check out. High CP lunch set - for NT300+, you get a 4 course set meal consisting of a main, a drink, soup, salad and cake. Ordered a chicken cutlet (380~) and German pork knuckle (780~). Portion for chicken is ok, but very generous serving of pork knuckle. Though they deboned it for you, they left the knuckle at the side for you to admire. Salad: ok Soup and bread: good Main: good Dessert: good Coffee: ok

A bit expensive, but worth it considering the effort put into creating and serving this appropriated menu here. They offer some typical Bavarian dishes (Semmelknödel Schnitzel) that are good. Great for buying some bread to take home to the family or getting a quick desert (the tiramisu cake looks good)! If you’re in the area and want to try a Taiwanese take on German food, this is the place.

Yelp
Honestly a bit pricey in general but the quality and SERVICE makes up for it. There's even a minimum spending, but you can purchase their bread/other items with dine-in orders. The bread are mostly high protein and gluten free options. They didn't have schnitzel unless you order a whole set which was a quite disappointing as schnitzel is a staple and they are my favourite growing up...The sausages are great and the sauerkraut is decorous. It's not the best sauerkraut I've had, but it's close and it's definitely not those super artificial sour and heavy on the colour ones. The bread was made to perfection and the coffee was great! Our server was so diligent and welcoming, but unfortunately he had to clock out half way through our dining experience. Another waitress server us after and she's was very polite too. It's quite far from where I live so it's not going to be my go-to spot (it doesn't have schnitzel either), but I'd go again if I'm again the area! They have an easy salad bar too.

Yelp
Hidden in a small alley is this clean and nicely decorated German restaurant with a cute logo. We ordered the Family Meal for the five of us and were pretty satisfied. They give you a lot of food including soup, salad, 4 main courses, deserts of your choice and drinks. All for a little over $3200NT( about $110 USD) and we had leftovers to bring home. For a higher end eatery on the East side of Taipei, this is great value for the money. We especially liked their beef - very tender, and pork feet - one of their most famous dishes, I was told. The chicken was nice too, tender and tasty. I'm not a German food expert by any means but overall we had a tasty and satisfying meal. Service was good and fast. Ambiance was warm, quiet and pleasant. Location is convenient- about 10 minutes walk from the MRT Dongmen station. The only reason I'm not giving them a five star is I feel there's a lack of vegetables in the set menu meal. Don't know if that's just the German way ;) but nowadays people would expect a healthier balance between meats and vegetables but they give you a lot of meats but not enough vegetables - just my two cents.

Yelp
Enjoyed it! I feel I gravitate towards German stuff because of the years in high school that I learned the language and some of the culture. While I don't think the staff speaks German, they were all super friendly and willing to assist. And, geezus, all the breads looked so good... There is a restaurant, but hubby and I were already full from picking at the different delights of Yong Kang Street. So, we ended up grabbing a few breads to take home to hubby's parents and grandparents. The store can slice the bread for you, if you'd like, too. :) Price-wise, I can maybe see the price being a little higher than a pastry from a Taiwanese bakery, but it's still pretty reasonable. Plus, I like the fact that they provided samples. The breads were sooo soft and yummy! One that we had was a bit of a tomato basil flavor, but with a slightly crispy crust even with a soft interior. We had another one that was probably a bit more sourdough like, so it was a bit more of a robust crust, but the meat of the bread was still very soft. Overall, our types of breads, and we were very happy with the many different options and the choices we had made. They also have cakes! Of course, they have the black forest cherry cake, but they also had a few more simple tortes (e.g., simple chocolate cake). Would love to come back!

Yelp
It would be very hard to confuse this place with any other because it is the only German-looking house on Yong Kang St. As such, you can probably guess what kind of food they serve here. I remember feeling quite pleased when I first discovered this place. In Yong Kang you certainly have your choices when it comes to dumplings, but for German cuisine, not so much. Which is why I was so disappointed when I had the food. The pork knuckle was hard and tasteless; and the bread tasted stale. The only thing that was worth trying were some of the appetizers; I vaguely recall them being somewhat decent eat. Places like this are really concerned about pushing a theme. Take one look at the waitresses in costumes and you will know what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, they miss on the food.

Yelp
Oma Ursels is a great German Bakery in a lane off Yong Kang Street. They have both a restaurant (which I haven't tried) and a bakery counter at the front of the store. Their bread is really good and they carry heavier german style rye breads and so on which can be hard to find in Taipei. The one thing I always get though is their pretzels. They are exactly the right amount of soft and chewy and make a great snack. You can usually try out a sample of the breads before you buy if you a bit uncertain about whether you'll like them but I find that they generally keep to a traditional German flavour so if that's what you are after then you are probably fine.

Yelp
This restaurant is like one of those foreign restaurants Taiwan. They changed original taste of foods to please diners.. Foods are just ok....but dessert and bread are really awesome.

Yelp
Waitress puts her finger into my food and explained that she was trying to get the pepper out! Sorry ma'am but we no longer accept that in Taiwan. We won't be back again.
