We camped for 3 nights and enjoyed the beauty of the region and the exotic camp under palm trees with a nice cold pool a lot. The waterfront sites are small, ours was too sunny but you make a plan and what a stunning view! Nice walking along the river - careful big crocs around - viewpoint stunning with another more rustic camp up there - little shade! The ablutions are clean, showers hot. The fact that all sewage flows into an open un covered pit behind the building is totally unacceptable and causes a big stink around the area. The road to Epupa is horrible after the rain earlier in 2025. The Himba kids and some herders also try to stop your car which is sometimes dangerous. Don't drive too fast.

We arrived here after a 14 hour drive. Campsite was nice and located on the river. We were however disappointed with the bathrooms.

Dramatically located on Kunene river bank with constant roar of falls nearby. The mood of the river permeates your room. Friendly staff and access to knowledgeable guide Ruiter who knows trees in Latin and vernacular. Only pity is the road.

I stayed here as part of a tour group of 6. The lodge is situated in an oasis right on the river with the Epupa Falls close by. It is a gorgeous area. The tents were comfortable but I had a major problem with the hot water. I couldn't regulate it and despite having the cold tap on full blast, it just got hotter and hotter. I ended up staying 2 nights without being able to shower. Not good.

What a wonderful haven after a long hard drive. In sweltering heat, it is a perfect place to stop and take a break. The campsite is excellent the pool a welcome location in the heat. The staff are super friendly and courteous. |We booked dinner and it was fantastic.||The falls are merely a short walk from the camp and are well worth the effort. Easy enough to access and offers superb views.||This is a location to visit.

100% recommendable! We stayed here for 2 nights in a tented chalet next to river Kunene. Not many tourists travel up to the north of Namibia but it’s the breathtaking nature and the friendly people and delicious food are worth it!

Campsite definitely not the Gondwana standard we are used to. No privacy. Too many campsites squashed into the space available. Some could do with some form of shade. Bathrooms not sufficient if campsite is full. Almost all toilets are leaking or running through. Taps leaking. Showers with iffy water flow. The lights on movement switch (?) are most anoying.|As with all Gondwana places lately you get the impression that walk-in customers are not welcome and checking in is a mission. |For a far lower price you get better campsites in Kaoko - not sure about Epupa, which is a dump.

A hidden treasure. Incredible service from the staff. The attention to detail in a place that is so remote was unexpected. Campsites, lodges, restaurants - everything was so good. One tip - take the opportunity to get laundry done here. The woman who is in charge of the laundry is the best!!! Such a beautiful village full of untouched culture.
