Omega Institute for Holistic Studies

Every visit to Omega has been magical, infused with the energy of nature, creativity and spiritual growth. Most of the programs I have taken are with Qigong Master Robert Peng and they have been transformative for me as a human, a mother, a teacher, a qigong practitioner and writer. I have also led some short 1 and 1.5 hour workshops for staff and participants in other programs and the support has been fantastic. The setting is incredibly special - sacred land, a beautiful library, a gorgeous lake and woods, and lots of animal friends to greet you too (as well as the stately trees!). The food is healthy and fresh. The experience is immersive and beautiful. And the programs attract seekers of all sorts - kind souls, compassionate, caring, often brilliant, with interesting life stories, missions, etc. This is a very special place on Earth and I will continue to return! The Ram Dass Library is a must visit! And the evening programs are extraordinary--from deeply moving poetry readings and writing / singing / art / creativity workshops to musical programs across genres, dance parties, multi-media experiences and much more!

I remember Omega with love. My stay there was absolutely amazing. I arrived super late on campus due to flight delays and cancellations and still someone was able to help me find my cabin and help me with my stuff. The food was delicious. The campus is beautiful and peaceful. You breathe in peace while being there. I hope I can go back soon. Also the Tai Chi class was lovely ❤️

No summer feels complete to me without a visit to the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY. I’ve attended four week-long retreats there over the past several years, and, as a schoolteacher, I find it to be the perfect place to go to rest and recharge before and after every school year. All the workshops, teachers, and facilitators are sure to spur your growth as a whole person, regardless of your path in life. And the campus is a great place to explore and engage: from walking in the woods, meditating in the sanctuary, exploring new ideas in the library, shooting hoops on the basketball court, or simply sitting by lake, it is always easy to get lost in the moment wherever you go. The food is also fantastic. Always fresh farm to table fare at every meal, and the best cookies and ice cream at the Cafe. But the best part of any Omega visit is the people you will meet there. You are guaranteed to find your tribe while being surrounded by the most open, accepting, and appreciative people there are. There is no other place where I’ve had more enlightening conversations than at the Omega Institute. I definitely recommend a visit.

I went to Omega to attend a weekend seminar with Dr Brian Weiss on past life regression. It was a wonderful, peaceful, and enlightening experience. Going back to Omega was like returning to an old friend, and I had not realized it was 20 years since I had last been there, but I was so pleased to find it still had the same amazingly positive energy and beautiful souls, I had encountered many years earlier. The setting was peaceful and simple, with lovely gardens, the food was delicious and plentiful, and my fellow participants were a joy to meet a few of whom I’m sure will be friends for the rest of my life. I will not wait 20 years to visit again, as my soul needs a place like Onega to remind me of all the good in the world.

I'm preparing for my second workshop of 2025 at Omega in Rhinebeck, NY; and this time, my friend and I are coming together (we also came for a workshop in 2010). I really love the friendly people; organic, casual, natural vibe, and am deeply grateful to be able to practice meditation with such sincere, dedicated teachers.

It’s the third time I’ve attended Omega for weekend conferences. This time James Nestor spoke about breathing. He was fantastic. Very scientific and common sense yet exploring the ancient history of the art of breathing. I like to call Omega the Church camp for woo woos. There is a type of person who attends which is funny and sad and interesting at the same time. It appears they know their avatar client and give them what they want. Fortunately, they have stopped offering so much yoga, which was offputting. The first time I attended I stayed on campus and the accommodations were just like being at church camp or boy Scout camp. If you like rustic then stay there. Otherwise Commute in from Rhinebeck or Woodstock. The food is tasty but lacks all animal protein except for eggs. If you’d like an alcoholic beverage you’re SOL. Parking is very easy. Staff is very helpful and the registration process was painless.

Omega Institute is an incredible venue. I have lived in the area for over one year. Omega offers an array of classes to fulfill lots of interests. I recommend it for anyone looking for spiritual growth and a warm and loving community. I have enjoyed the meals. However, it is not gourmet, but is very close to Rhinebeck Village which has lots of excellent restaurants.
