I stayed at this hotel whilst being an exchange student and I was told that I would get a student deal which made me think this accommodation would be suitable for students. When I arrived I politely emailed to ask if there was anywhere I could wash my laundry or send or receive mail as I was under the impression of getting a student deal meant the property was suitable for students. The response I got back from them was lack of any empathy or understanding, took no responsibility or offered any solutions and told me to look for answers elsewhere. This really ruined my time here. Assumed "student deals" implied student-friendly amenities, but the hotel did not explicitly offer them and overall, the hotel’s response could have been more customer-focused, suggesting nearby laundromats, mail collection points, or services commonly used by long-term guests especially as I was a young UK Native University student who had never been to Finland before.

The Omena Hotel Lonnrontinkatu is conveniently located in Helsinki city center, just a 10-minute walk from the main train station.||||Our room was clean and comfortable, featuring a sofa and dining table. Although the room was a bit small, it was perfectly fine for two people. Price was reasonable.||||One thing to note is that this hotel has no reception, so check-in and check-out are done independently. However, this system has a major flaw. We were supposed to receive a registration link and code for check-in, but we never got it. Unfortunately, the customer service number was completely unresponsive, and the phone in the lobby was equally useless. We ended up having to contact our travel agency, who thankfully managed to get us the code within 15 minutes. However, this whole ordeal cost us two hours of our precious vacation time. And we weren't alone! During our 3-night stay, we witnessed at least 6-7 other groups experiencing the exact same problem. This is a serious issue that the hotel needs to address immediately. Guests should confirm their registration and code well in advance of their arrival date to avoid this frustrating situation.

Unfortunately, this hotel was a disappointment. Our room was really untidy and didn't meet my expectations regarding hygiene standards. Although the bedsheets were clean, the mattress covers underneath were soiled with yellow and red stains and looked like they were never washed. The noise isolation wasn't sufficient, so it was hard to catch decent rest. The table wasn't wiped and also one chair was dirty.

I spent three nights in this code only hotel. Overall happy with the experience. Pro Location is good and room was clean. Comfortable matrass and handy to have a fridge and microwave. Cons shower could not get hot...warm at most. Windows cannot be opened but air circulation is okay.

The AC is uncontrollable and loud. Trying to sleep with earplugs without luck. Big ugly and emptyish room with fake wood on the walls and office tiles in the roof. Want to go home. Called a relatively friendly guy on the service phone, a call that cost 0,79 EUR /min (oh yes!). He couldn't help. The AC is as it is and all other rooms are full. Suggested I asked for a refund. Also for the phone call. I recommend you spend a little bit more money on a hotel with a reception and some on-site service. And stay out of this hotel

The hotel was much cheaper looking than expected. Dirty and used. Found some dirty towels at disposal. Pretty much disappointed overall and would not go back. Bathroom was not to my expectation and too small too (even tough I am aware this is a 3 star renting)||On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and the location is great!

In a city where accommodation is generally very costly, Omena provided a more reasonably-priced option. Be sure to complete your check-in electronically and in advance so you receive your door key code. There was no reception on site but the key code worked from 4 PM onwards, on the day of arrival. The room was fairly narrow but clean and warm. The bed was comfortable and the wifi, reliable. All in all, the hotel delivered what it promised. There is a convenience store opposite the hotel that is fairly well-stocked with several food options. A pizza restaurant and burger restaurant are right beside the hotel.

Horrible new years stay. Towels had old blood stains, TV not working properly. Hallways smelled like weed and I get it cause it's new years but the towels are unacceptable. Definately won't come back.

Yelp
Pros: -Large building, small rooms, affordable -15 mins walk to central station -everything is through email: no check in and check our process. Entrance code is emailed to you. -Clean rooms -Clean bathroom -Heated towel racks -free wifi Cons: -Shower drain was a bit slow which made the floor a little more wet then i like it to be

Yelp
The locks to the rooms were broken, and just to get in the room it took like 30 minutes already because WE had to call theur customer service, they had to call the security guy right in front of us, and then he could let us in. Instead of offering us other rooms for the inconvenience we just had to deal with all that shit after a long and tiring travel, and now we can not get out without having to deal with this shit again.

Yelp
I stayed here for a month. The hotel is minimal. Be warned there are two Omena hotels near each other make sure you go to the right one. There is NOT conditioner provided. The blackout curtains are not the best, but they block most of the light. For European standards the rooms are big. The mini fridge does not have a freezer and is extremely small. You get a microwave and a teapot but no other ways to cook food. It isn't the best, but it isn't the worst either.

Yelp
Horrible experience at this hotel! Booked through Expedia same-day after a 30+ hours of travel. Upon arrival it was not clear where the entrance to the hotel was, only provided with a door code in confirmation email, no reception or check in desk. Room provided was absolutely disgusting. It had not been cleaned from previous guest. Dirty sheets, dirty towels all over the floor, urine on the bathroom floor, beer cans and bottles in the hallway and in the room. After informing the property we were told they had not been contacted soon enough and were "unable to help". However there was no reception area, no phones in the room and no room service available; and within minutes of entering the room a complaint was sent via the Expedia booking link and a response email was sent to me from the hotel group 12 hours later. Very disappointed and disgusted with the treatment by this company. Do not waste your money.
