I bought my XL Specialized Tero at a different store and O&B’s has provided very responsive service. The bike has many gear shifting issues, but they tune it onsite in general on the same day. The spiked tires have been amazing for winter commutes, but the hand sleeves required different rear-view mirrors instead of the handle bar mounts. O&B’s had the version mounted to my safety glasses and shoe grips, so I am all-set for my commutes.

As a long time shopper, and resident of the upper valley, I've purchased and maintained a number of bicycles. Over the years the knowledgeable staff has always been receptive and interested in my bike needs. Cheers to O&B for being honored as the number one bike store in the Upper Valley for 2025.

I asked an employee if I could try on some ski boots to figure out my size, and he asked if I planned to buy them online. When I said yes, he told me that would be a “theft of our time” and stated that "we don't do that". While I understand their policy and totally get why I would be a theft of their time, I was taken aback by his attitude and phrasing — it came across as unnecessarily rude. I recognize that they’re a small business and understand why they would have such a policy, but I wish it had been communicated in a more respectful way : (.

Wonderful experience at Omer & Bob's! The staffs were super nice and extremely helpful consulting me with the right string for my styles. I dropped off 2 rackets and was able to pick them up the following day! Pricing is very reasonable. Couldn't for better service! Highly recommend Omer & Bob's for any future racket sports in Upper Valley!

Google
On vacation up near Lincoln and had a small mishap on a bike on the first day of the trip. Reached out to many people, some with no availability in our short timeframe, and some with no response at all! Omer and Bobs got right back to me, and even though they were plenty busy, they understood our situation and our short timeframe frame and were so helpful, professional, and accommodating. It is what I assume was their smallest job of the day (a broken bike chain), to someone who has never done business with them, and they treated me like more than a stranger. Drove an hour to get there and they got us in the next morning after first contact. They completed the job with a new chain, new tire, found the derailer was bent and adjusted it, and corrected a DIY assembly error, all in 20 minutes while we grabbed a coffee. Thanks to the team for helping, perfect experience!

Came in with an issue on my road bike, a weird clicking noise every time I rotated the pedal that I couldn’t figure out. I had already taken it to a different shop that charged me $130 for a tune up and then said they couldn’t figure out what was making the noise. Brought the bike here, explained my concern, and rather than just mounting it on the bike mount, the tech rode it around the block, immediately came back and confirmed my suspicion. Within 20 minutes he identified and fixed the problem. Didn’t charge me a dime, but left a great impression, and I would absolutely use this store for any biking or skiing purchases in Lebanon in the future. Customer service makes all the difference. Thanks for fixing my bike, Jake!

Google
Omer and Bob’s is one of a kind amazing! We had a badly bent rim on a Niner e-bike and went to them during our travels on a NE road-trip. Time was of the essence. They found a rim off another stock bike to get ours fixed and us back on the trail the same morning!!!! We went back and bought a great phone holder. Friendly and professional!!!

Google
Shout out to Breck and staff at Omer and Bob's! If you're in the Norwich, VT, or Lebanon, NH, area, this is a must-see bike shop. It offers a great selection of biking and other outdoor sports, affordable prices, and knowledgeable people.

Yelp
I needed to rent an E bike for my first long bike trip ever (with friends) in conjunction with a 50th reunion. These guys were so kind and helpful. Had the best day on my e-bike. So great that I kept it for a second day. It's always great to be in the northwoods but if you're in that vicinity and there's anything you need that they can provide you with, head to Omer and Bob's! you will be happy you did

K N.

Yelp
Desperately needed some trail running shoes and walked in and chatted with the sales person in the running department. He was super helpful & knowledgeable, talking through my options. After trying on several pairs I walked out with Brooks AND I LOVE them!!! I hadn't tried this brand and the sales person nailed it - I am super pleased! I wasn't in the market but saw lots of good winter running outfits! Thanks All - I will be back in the spring for bike stuff :)

Yelp
My second (and last) visit to Omer and Bob's. The salesperson (both times) could not have been more rude! First time I was appalled and left vowing never to return. After several years , wanting to shop local, I returned. The way I was greeted (not) and spoken to was worse than the first. Wish I had asked his name- curly dark hair and glasses. I can't understand how they're still in business. Certainly won't have my business!

Yelp
Living a half hour away from the nearest full-service bicycle shop, hoping to box stores for my cycling needs has been quite easy, but still, I would rather support local. So with four bicycles of different types in my garage needing supplies, I searched for something more on the small shop category and came up with Omer and Bob's. I was quite happy I made that decision. What is amazing is that being a 100-ski day yearly skier, Omer and Bob's had never been in my radar as a ski shop and yet, they started as a ski shop during the early days of Mick Jagger - (actually the shop opened in the same year as the Rolling Stone's first album). From its beginnings, it is now a full-activity sports shop, offering Nordic and Alpine ski, bicycling, sports shoe wear and running apparel. Despite its relatively modest footprint, it is well supplied with quality equipment. They carry all types or bicycle gear, electric bikes, racers, commuters, leisure, recumbent, you name it. And at reasonable prices that make this a great value. The staff is friendly and businesslike. I came in for replacement tubes for my four bicycles and they had everything I needed. And then I spent some time impulse-buying and looking over their selections. I will be definitely be coming over here again. On a side note, their main entrance is on the same block as the center of Lebanon, where the city has made the most superb decision to close down lanes of traffic to allow all fresco seating for several restaurants and improve the town's vibe. You can shop and then enjoy the downtown area.

Paul M.

Yelp
I brought two electric bikes in without an appointment, the bikes had been sitting in a barn for a year, hoping to have them checked out before using them 3 days later on a weekend vacation. Though the service area was very busy, booking 10 days out, they took both, quickly checked the chains, oiled them, pumped up the tires. Immediate help, no charge, as friendly and helpful as could be!

Diane F.

Yelp
Fabulous experience renting e-bikes. We made a reservation and bikes were ready when we arrived.. Attentive, knowledgeable service folks- premium bikes! Recommend!

Yelp
They do a great job and have great products and that's why they are busy! The crew has been there a long time, so it's nice to know that they treat the team well too. It's like family every time I go in there.

Yelp
Went to O&B today to consider getting measured for new bike. My 2 yr old Trek DS 3 Hybrid Large just didn't fit anymore as I aged. I needed more upright position, less reach to handlebars, longer seat post and consideration of upgrade from 1X10 to 1X12. I wanted to consider Marlin 8, that had midrange M/L sizing and 1X12. Talked with Breck, who I've known for some time and through whom I've bought my last 3 bikes at O&B's. Breck talked with me about my biking style. He asked if I had my bike with. I did. He told me to go get it. He took a look at bike, noted some modifications that had been made and noted that saddle was too far back to account for seat post that was too short. He took my seat post off, replaced it with a longer one that had 0mm offset and then reset my saddle further forward. Told me to take a ride. Results: More upright position with less reach to handlebars and less jambing of hands/wrists into grips. He also convinced me that current 1X10 would give me more power in the harder gears on the flats, with the current way that I ride than would the 1X12. I agreed with that. So bottom line: as a walk-in off the street, in a half hour, I had all my problems solved and it cost me $60+ rather than $1200+ for new Marlin. Omer & Bob's is the BEST!

Jim M.

Yelp
Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from. I have shopped Omer & Bobs for years and always found Jonathan and his staff to be knowledgable, friendly and helpful. You have two basic options for mountain bikes in the area - Omer & Bob's for Trek and Specialized, Mason Racing for Rocky Mtn and Salsa. Mason is more of a bike specialist but both are great locally owned Upper Valley businesses and will take good care of you.

Yelp
During our trip to New England last fall we stopped in lots of bike shops. B is a mountain biker, so he likes to check out the shops and see if there's anything interesting. Omer and Bob's was a nice shop. It's fairly large and carries lots of biking, snow (skis, boards, and clothing), and sports equipment, clothing, and accessories. The staff was friendly and attentive. We picked up a water bottle as a keepsake, and now that the weather is warming up at home it's starting to get a lot of use. If you're in the area and need something for your bike, or other sporting needs, you can likely find it at Omer and Bob's.

Claudia C.

Yelp
My husband and I bought our bikes here. They were the best - fixing every issue free of charge. When we complained about the design of my bike, the owner had the manufacturer change it for a different and better bike. I cannot say enough good things about their knowledge, service, and courteous behavior.

Zoe M.

Yelp
I'm new to backcountry skiing /touring and went to get my skis mounted. They were super helpful with chatting about my gear and making sure I felt ready to get out on snow. I think I talked to 5 different people about different aspects of the gear- from bindings to heat-molded insoles. They're the best. I've been here in the past to buy running shoes and Brandon spent a significant amount of time putting me in different shoes, making sure I went home with a pair that I really enjoyed. The team at Omer and Bobs is the best.

Joe P.

Yelp
I've had nothing but good experience with Omer and Bob's. Originally came to O&B with a tough request - build a custom gravel bike around a classic Ibis Silk Ti frame. Despite part shortages and difficulty matching today's components with a 20-year old frame, the result has been stunning. the bike is an instant classic, with everything working smoothly. Jeremy has also taken care of my other gravel bike, mountain and fat bikes. He's very good. I recommend O&B wholeheartedly!

Yelp
After dropping my son at school in early January, I went skiing for a couple of days. Unfortunately, my old boots started to fall apart and my not-as-old skis needed work. Since I wanted to leave my skis with my son in decent condition before returning home to VA, I visited Omer & Bob's and met Cyrus. What a great guy! He explained my options since the boots were worthless and made a very nice and affordable recommendation; refurbishing the skis and bindings were not a problem. So I paid the bill and asked that my son be called when completed so he could pick them up. Not a problem! If I or my son ever need anything to do with ski or bike equipment while in the area, Omer & Bob's will be the first place we visit.

Yelp
Poor! Here is the saga. A month ago I called about making an appointment for my bike, actually my 8 year old granddaughter's bike- a specialized mountain bike. I was told that it would be done on or before June 23rd. On 6/22 I called to make sure it would be ready for the following day. I got a brush off answer something about when the bike was brought in. Knowing they had it in their shop for a month, I didn't worry too much about the person's response. On 6/23 my husband called and they told him they were waiting for the bike. He explained that it had been there for a month. They pretty much ignored him like they had ignored me the previous day. I called back myself and was told that "there was an error in processing the ticket. It didn't update." He made it sound like a computer glitch. In fact, they do not use computers for processing. Upon further inquiry, he admitted that the person that took the bike in didn't put a note that the bike had been in the store since late May. I asked if they indeed had my bike. He then said it's probably in the basement but he was in the middle of a job and couldn't check right now. I asked if it would be ready the following day (6/24) and he said, "that's the idea." My granddaughter has been waiting patiently a month for her bike-which isn't easy when you're eight Maybe if I had been a young, cool bike aficionado I would have been taken more seriously. I wish they had told me that when I first called. I would have driven a longer distance to a shop that was not rude and dismissive because it wasn't a $3000 + bike. Rude people, poor service and very biased staff.

Ali R.

Yelp
These guys definitely take advantage of being the only bike shop in town. While they have some nice merchandise, it's WAY over priced. Their service is terrible and I've found them to be unhelpful and rude, to the point of VERY frustrating. If they are that miserable, why not get a different job? It kills me to give such a negative review, but really you'll just leave frustrated after dealing with this shop. It's a college/tourist trap. Luckily there ARE other options nearby although you may have to make a trip to Lebanon or West Leb. Take your car, ask a friend, or take a taxi and liberate yourself from these guys! Really there are PLENTY of options nearby. Good luck sports adventurers. Keep smiling

Yelp
Was just out on my first bike ride in a very long time & turns out my handle bars were very very loose. Luckily Omer & Bob's was on my route & I swung by and they fixed me right up. Very professional and friendly staff! Thank you!!

Eric B.

Yelp
I never write reviews but had such a great experience I feel compelled to pay it back. I had a catastrophic wheel failure at the Sunapee triathlon due to my own stupidity. Jeremy - who was serving as on-site bike mechanic - did everything he could before the race started but the wheel needed to be replaced. When I came into the shop later that afternoon, Jeremy dropped what he was doing in order to help me out on the spot. 10/10, will come here for any kind of bike repair needs when in the area.

Yelp
Don't go here. Seriously just save yourself the headache and don't go. Every time I've been here the employees have been rude and unhelpful. Thy don't help you and then will switch to other customers and finish their transaction before returning to you. The man that helped us with the side burns was rude and pretty sexist who treated my mom and I like we had no idea what we were doing, even though we are both avid bikers. TL;DR Rude, overpriced, not worth the headache There are better places

John A.

Yelp
I love this place and they're willing to work with people who can't afford high prices. I've gone in a few times and not only are they pretty friendly, they gave me an awesome used bike seat for my mountain bike. Theyve been honest with me a few times about not spending my money on something I don't need.. They're very knowledgeable as a staff and they have a little bit of everything in bike and ski. The store is very clean, well lit and organized well.

Ellsworth R.

Yelp
Went there last night to get 2 tires & tubes. Terrible service. Didn't have the 2 tires I wanted but had 2 at a greater expense. Didn't have the American vale stem for the tubes. Then while waiting for the girl to get back with my order the guy asked me if I needed anything. I said a girl was getting my order. He asked me again. Terrible service. Definitely won't return. Maybe he was that way because I'm a blue collar worker

Yelp
Omer & Bob's is to Hanover, New Hampshire what Paragon is to Manhattan. Proportionately - O & B is, at most, 1/6th of the size of P? However, the former makes good use of its space by rotating merchandise appropriate for the season. I have bought tennis, yoga & ski wear from the store since 2003. Although expensive, my combined clothing bill is nowhere near what was spent for the 3 Trek bikes bought for me. (Don't ask why I have needed 3 in 5 years.). The first model was chosen in-store. The 2nd was a repeat purchase of the first. The third was researched via Trek's website & then ordered by phone through Omer & Bob. I love that each bike comes with a year of service included. The owner (for the past 20 years) is also wonderful. Last month, he stayed well past closing time to introduce me to my latest, new wheels. I would obviously recommend this store since I'm a repeat customer for big ticket items. & yes, Omer & Bob were actual people who started the store.
google avatar

Will W.

Yelp
This is a beginner bike shop. If you are an avid cyclist stay clear. They have shit bike mechanics and generally don't know what they are talking about. I worked in one of the largest Trek stores in NY so I know a thing or two about cycling and these guys know bare bone minimum. If you just want a leisure bike sure it's better than Walmart. But if you are a serious cyclist looking for a new bike or a bike mechanic DO NOT go here.

Steve Z.

Yelp
I was in the Hanover-Lebanon area for a few days. Had a days by myself and decided to go for a ride. Had a great experience. The guy who helped me got me set up on a great bike and helped me figure out where to ride as I don't the area. He sent me on a great ride the bike was great too. Couldn't be happier that I decided to go. Thanks!

Yelp
i have been in and out of Omer and Bob's over the past couple of years. Usually, I am just trying to kill some time or trying to find the most comfortable road bike saddle. This time around I was just looking to get some new skis for my girlfriend. Luckily, they had the ones she wanted in the correct size, but being indecisive we decided to not purchase them thinking we could find a better deal around Boston. I ended up calling back a few days later to place them on hold. We drove back up on Sat. morning and got the new sticks mounted up in about 30 mins. -1 since they didnt accept Amex, but who does really. It my own fault for not going with the universally accepted Visa. I'd definitely check out this place for your ski/bike needs the sales people are an endless source of knowledge.

Jesse W.

Yelp
I've now had two excellent experiences at Omer and Bob's. The first time, they serviced my bike without upselling me on anything it didn't need. The mechanic took the time to come out when I picked it up and explain what he had done. When I did ask about upgrading my tires, he was helpful in finding what I wanted. The price was reasonable. There are plenty of staff on hand who have all been friendly and knowledgeable, in my experience. Finally, when I brought my bike in today for a baffling malfunction of the drive train, the mechanic fixed what turned out to be a simple problem on the spot for no charge, and even cleaned my chain for me. They answered my questions about the riding community in a way that meant a lot to someone new to the area, and were transparent about areas where other shops might specialize more appropriately. Five stars, I'll be back.

Yelp
Omer & Bob's is a great shop run by good people. Too bad the town of Hanover drove them to leave town with their anti-business way of handling local business's. Really a shame but there's way more parking where they are now.

Philip W.

Yelp
Unbelievable shop. Incredible service, knowledgable, great selection. I was on vacation and was riding every day. 5 days into vacation, my shifter broke. I brought it in and they said they would have to order the part as it was SRAM shifter which has poor market share. One of the technicians said that he had the shifter part at home as he has a supply of those kinds of parts. He went home at lunch and got the part, then installed it. Not sure I have ever had such good customer service anywhere

Eric M.

Yelp
I've been an avid mountain biker as well as occasional road rider for a number of years. I've purchased three bikes, many accessories and have had service/repairs preformed in the last six years. This review of Omer's is long overdue. O&B's stocks a deep selection of Trek and Specialized bikes and accessories. They have the current trend plus sized models, conventional 27.5 as well as 29er bikes. If they don't have your size, they'll order it up in a jiffy. Demo's are available and reflect the vast selection of bikes that they carry. Prices are very competitive, as ownership understands that in this market you can get equipment from many places. Personally I always seek a deal and they can be found if timed accordingly. Management has been known to match pricing from other retailers. Customer service for me has always been positive. There are a number of employees that have been there seemingly forever. They remember their customers, warmly greeting them into a clean, well lite, organized store. Additionally, this staff is comprised of cyclists! Combined their breadth of knowledge is very impressive as questions never go unanswered. The bike mechanics offer sound advice and realistic time frame solutions. Everyone has their moments, yet time after time this staff has patiently and professionally answered my technical questions without a hint of sarcasm. Service pricing seem fair and inline with other regional bike shops. I enjoy tinkering with minor ongoing maintenance. Yet, when the job is too big for me I'll default to their shop. They continue to listen and helps me to determine the best course of action moving forward - most importantly, at my own speed. Thank you for the continued topnotch service O&B's!

Will M.

Yelp
They fixed my wheel that has specific hardware that was difficult to procure. They had the right connections to get the parts and fixed the wheel immediately when they finally got their hands on a replacement part. Nice people. I'm happy to have a local bike shop I trust. Support your LBS!

Mo D.

Yelp
We were in Hanover for just a few days and wanted to get a little bike riding in. Stopped by and what a great selection of bikes. Everyone at the shop was so helpful and we really appreciated everything Adrian, Jonathan and Robert did for us. This is the place to go if you are looking for a bike!

Janine W.

Yelp
Bikes are good and price is good, but employees are not informationally helpful, somewhat aloof and are poorly organized. No maps available which is very crucial when you are not from the area. They could do a way better job!

D F.

Yelp
You would think that since Omer and Bob's is a small retail business that you would get phenomenal service, not the case. I got the feeling while I was in there looking at tennis shoes that I was a complete inconvenience, instead of someone asking if I needed help all of the employees ran, comparable to roaches when the lights come on. I had to search for someone just to tell them that had I been assisted I would have bought local because I like to support local business, instead I will be shopping online due to their lack of interest of me being in the store. My wife had a similar experience while looking for a tennis racquet. They treated her like she was an idiot, and showed a complete lack of interest in her. This is not a good business model for a small retail business, I would not recommend O & B's to anyone. If you get off by feeling like a burden, O & B's is the place for you. I hate Wal-Mart, and I would rather go there, at least I'll have a geriatric greeting me at the door, which is much more than what I can say for O & B's.

Joey G.

Yelp
Do not buy a new bike here. I bought a new Trek Remedy 7 from Omer & Bob's in June. Before I bought the bike, they were a great shop. They were helpful and knowledgeable and let me demo the bike before I bought it. They assured me they would give free service for a year and make my bike a priority because I bought it from them. All seemed well and I bought the bike. Fast foreword a week and EVERYTHING was loose. Every bolt that could be loose was, even the ones attaching the rotors. I brought the bike back and they informed me that they only do their free service on Satudays. They were generally rude as well, totally different vibe than before I bought the bike. So much for weekend riding trips... After two weeks, the rear derailuer broke in half. I was 20min into a ride after having them tune the bike up THE DAY BEFORE! It didn't go into the spokes and I didn't hit it. The chain caught when I was standing up and cranking, and my pedaling force broke it. I brought the bike in the next day and they said I had to buy a new one for $90 and they couldn't install it until next Saturday. I bought one online and installed it myself and haven't been back to the shop since. I moved out west and took the bike into a shop out here and there response was "who built this?" They found a number of problems I was not even aware of. Do not buy a new bike from these guys.

Bud B.

Yelp
Perfect place to rent a bike for a ride on the "Rail Trail". Price is reasonable, staff very friendly and the bikes are great! They even gave me a water bottle and free water!!

Derek D.

Yelp
I initially had a similar experience to other reviewers on my first time to Omer and Bob's when I moved to the Upper Valley in 2015. They seemed super busy getting ready for the upcoming mt bike season and the service wasn't great. I gave them a second chance at their ski swap the next year and it seemed like a different experience. Staff was super helpful and patient. They helped me get some good used skis that work great. I went back this past summer to look at mountain bikes and demo a few. I met Jonathan and he walked me through a bunch of the different options with the new mt bike technology. He helped me pick out some demos and even gave me a free demo when the bike I wanted to try was still out. The bike I got is perfect for me, and when I wanted to get some new 3 inch studded tired for the winter, I simply emailed Jonathan and he was quick with replying and was able to get me what I wanted fast. He worked with my budget and got me some really cool studded tires. The last few experiences have been great there (especially because of Jonathan) and I will definitely be using Omer and Bob's for my future biking and skiing needs.

Brad P.

Yelp
I had a broken derailer on my bike and they were clear about the costs upfront and did not charge me any more than we had planned. So far, my old bike seems good as new. Because I don't have access to a car, one of their great employees, Angus, offered to deliver it to Dartmouth's campus free of charge in his pickup. That's customer service at its finest.
