"It's hard not to feel like the center of Charlotte's universe when you're staying at the Omni. The location alone is incredible: in the heart of Uptown and connected to major headquarters by skybridge (so your hair won't fall frizz on the way to meetings in Truist Tower or Bank of America building). As for the hotel itself, it's energetic and buzzing in its own right. As for the hotel itself, it's energetic and buzzing in its own right." - Nancy DePalma

"What's the vibe? It's hard not to feel like the center of Charlotte’s universe when you’re staying at the Omni. The location is hard to beat, especially when traveling on business (the skywalk means you’re connected to the biggest players in Uptown).  Tell us about the room. The rooms are urban and chic, with earth tones and modern furnishings. They're well laid out for business travelers, yet still have personality. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi?Sign up for the rewards program at check-in, and Wi-Fi is free. How are the food and beverage options? There’s a lobby bar and a restaurant (Trade), but the real place to be is the poolside Coin Bar, which has dazzling views of Uptown. (Open seasonally from March through November) How did you find the service? The concierge has a terrific beat on the city, so be sure to ask about festivals, things to do, and where to eat. What's the crowd like?Suits during the week; brides, bachelorettes, and couples on weekends. How's the location? The Omni occupies a whole block, so it dominates the neighborhood. Any other hotel features of note?Guests can use the Charlotte Athletic Club, just off the lobby, for free. Other amenities include in-room spa services, 24-hour room service, a kids' program, and a small pool with unparalleled skyline views. What's the bottom line? This is a snazzy hotel with a location that can't be beat." - Nancy DePalma

Very nice hotel and excellent staff. The views are gorgeous, the location is really central to everywhere you'd want to go, and you won't need your car unless you want to drive outside the city. The valet staff is incredible. They took care of everything so swiftly and made checking in and out amazingly easy. A few tiny room hiccups, but nothing worth mentioning, aside from closets! Not sure if all rooms come with a wardrobe instead of a closet, but I recommend asking for a closet! We had a wonderful time at the Omni and would stay here again.

In the midst of the chaos of the world today it’s nice to know that there are some places and more specifically staff that make you feel at your home away from home. From the moment we pulled into the parking we were met with genuine compassionate smiles and service. Each and every member of the loyalty staff and the food and beverage staff gave us such a unique and priceless experience that will forever be held close in our hearts. We will be back as soon as our budget and time allows to not only enjoy the location but more importantly to enjoy great laughs and memories with the amazing out of this world staff. Semper Fi to each and every member of this location and know that your great dedication and passion has ripples effects far beyond the horizon. Very Respectfully

Jenelle treated us like royalty, great experience walking in the door !Claire was very helpful and professional. Both ladies were extremely kind and provided a feeling of good southern charm, exceeding expectations. Our room is spacious and comfortable. Restaurant staff were also kind and gave me some good recommendations on options to try. I highly recommend giving this place a visit. I do wish the pool was open but next time.

Hotel is very nice and everything I would expect from OMNI. Rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed. The location was convenient, in the middle of downtown, with many walkable restaurants. What sets the Charlotte location apart is their TEAM! Every person I interacted with had a ready smile and an offer to help. I didn't have any problems that I had to search out answers for, but team members asked politely anyway. How is your stay? Can we help improve it? Would you like us to get you an Uber? When I ordered a drink at the bar and asked to take it upstairs, I got both my drink and a tall glass of ice water that I hadn't known I wanted until it was set in front of me (both in to-go cups). Well done, Team Charlotte Omni!

I recently stayed at the Omni Charlotte Hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is excellent—right in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, with easy access to restaurants, shops, and local attractions. The staff was friendly and professional, and check-in was smooth.||||The room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with nice city views and all the expected amenities. However, one disappointment was that both pools were closed for renovation during my stay. I wasn’t informed of this ahead of time, and only found out at check-in. This was a letdown, as the rooftop pool was one of the reasons I had chosen this hotel.||||Aside from that, the hotel offered a relaxing environment and convenient access to the Overstreet Mall. If the amenities are fully open during your stay, I can see this being a great option for both business and leisure travelers.||||I’d consider staying again but would definitely confirm the status of amenities beforehand.

If you want a good night's sleep avoid this hotel. There is continuous drag racing on the street just outside your window (14th floor) from approximately midnight until 2:00 a.m. which the hotel is well aware of. It was deafening and beyond obnoxious. I booked two adjoining club rooms which was a complete waste of money for concierge service. Club 14 was poorly stocked and quite disappointing, absolutely nothing special about it. We tried the breakfast there once and never returned. The room service was the best experience of the long holiday weekend there. The rooftop pool was closed (the reason I chose this hotel) and we were notified just days before our reservation although it had been closed well before that. There was no response whatsoever from upper management to my emails. This was not up to par for an Omni Hotel. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location.

The staff the staff the staff!!!!!! Everything was fantastic except the cold shower yesterday which was understandable and we were notified by text. The staff is the best ever. Valet staff is the best ever. Gabby in Club 14 needs all the praise that can be given. Best customer service ever at a hotel from start to finish!!!!! We will be back!!

I want to start off by saying that the staff at the Omni are the best I have came across and any negativity in my review is no reflection on them, they are fantastic.||We flew to Charlotte from the UK and we picked the omni because it had a roof top pool, we got there to find out it was being renovated, something the hotel decided not to share with our tour company or to us, so you can imagine our frustration with that, anyway the lovely lady at the reception was very apologetic and gave us a $50 credit to use at the bar.|| We retired to our room and thought we would have a quick rest before going out, but all we could hear was a constant drilling coming from the pool renovation, we phoned down and they had it stopped.||After that, everything was great, I will say though, if you are claustrophobic and do not like lifts, you are goosed, you can only use the stairs in case of emergency's.

Yelp
This was the first Omni hotel I've been to, and I was pretty impressed. The room was clean, the view was great, and the kind person at the front desk upgraded us to the top floor, which includes free breakfast! There is also complementary flavored water, and shops inside of the building (Starbucks, Walgreens, etc.) The hallways sometimes got kind of loud becaise there was probably a wedding. At 6 am, there was banging on all of the walls which disturbed my sleep. The bed was actually very comfortable, but it took me a long time to fall asleep like all hotels. Overall, this was a pretty good hotel that could have some improvement.

Yelp
I will start with the end result -- for an Omni Hotel, it was lackluster. I traveled here for work and I was booked a room here and I was pretty excited because it's an Omni Hotel. The exterior is exemplary of an Omni Hotel and it looks really nice -- located at the heart of Uptown Charlotte. The lobby is a few floors up, and the lobby boasts of a bar. The downstairs area is connected to a Walgreens, a Starbucks and a Chick-fil-A so there are conveniences that are connected which is nice too. There's also a nice semi-rooftop pool on the second floor. The vibes are nice but it definitely looks different than the picture. I'm not much of a pool-user so it wasn't that much of a bother. Then why is it 3 stars? Well first, the room was not that clean. Because the rooms were carpeted, there were stains on the carpet which didn't live up to the standard at all. The room was pretty wide and big, but the stained carpets were just a bummer. Also there are 4 elevators but it looked like 2 of the elevators were straight up NOT WORKING! What an extreme inconvenience. We were coming back after working a concert and the line to go up was insanely long and it took us nearly 25 minutes to go up to our rooms. With a hotel this big, two sets of elevators is NOT enough. Staff was generally friendly but I was not impressed for an Omni brand unfortunately.

S L.

Yelp
NO hot water for 10 hrs and they didnt even care. Not even offer anything to cover this inconvenience. Please do not stay here. Bed sheets were all wrinkles, I didnt even know if they change at all.

Yelp
Seriously disappointed based on Omni's reputation and how much money we spent for our stay. The first room had a significant musty smell, and the air felt damp. A mint I left out literally melted overnight due to the humidity in the room. The vent in the bathroom was packed with dust, so clearly had not been cleaned in some time. We switched rooms for our second night, and this one was better, but still had a distinct musty oder and damp feel. That evening we were woken up by people down the hall setting off their smoke alarm. Later that evening the occupants of a different room across from us were screaming at each other for about 2 hours before security came. Even after security threw one of them out, there was constant knocking, people going in and out of the room, etc. Not the kind of activity you'd expect at an Omni hotel. Also, one of the reasons we chose this hotel was the rooftop pool. Unfortunately there were hundreds of dead ants floating in it, so few people were willing to go swimming. I will say that the staff was friendly and professional, but I would never stay here again.

Angie R.

Yelp
With the reputation of the Omni, this one could use some work. Carpet is dirty in hallways and guest rooms. Rooms are around $250 and up a night, parking is ridiculous at $40 per night. 0-4 hours is $25 and 5-8 hours is $35 for parking onsite. Rooms are a nice size, and there's a couch along the wall for extra seating and laying your bag open so it's not on the floor. Charging ports for your electronics is on the side of the nightstand, so if you're sitting on the bed and move, the mattress hits the cord and can unplug it. Beds are too soft and extremely uncomfortable. When you sit on it, you literally sink into the mattress. The bathroom in the room is tiny. So much so that the door almost touches the toilet when you close the door. You literally have to step in the bathroom and stand beside the toilet to close the door. They have a hairdryer for use, but is old and could be replaced. Took me forever to dry my hair this morning. They have shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower, and the tangerine scent isn't bad. WiFi is between $9.99 and $14.99 per night, which is ridiculous with the amount you pay for rooms per night. The restaurant onsite has a minimal menu, so we ate out. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Eddie V's, McCormick and Schmidt, Hooters, Chima and Roosters.

Yelp
We recently had to cut our stay at the omni hotel short as the hotel had a situation arise where no one could go to their rooms as all key cards were not working meaning you had to be escorted to every section on the hotel, had to use cash to purchase anything at the hotel, we were screamed at by two individuals who obviously on drugs both times we left the hotel who were standing in the road outside of the hotel and then to top it all off for almost three hours or neighbors in the room next to us were screaming. Laughing shouting and drinking and obviously from the smell of it smoking weed , the beds were uncomfortable and the sink on the bathroom was also broken. We just left at 1 am to come home. This was a birthday trip that honestly ruined.

Peter C.

Yelp
Dirty carpet stains in the room No vent in bathroom No towel rack in bathroom Blanket sheet tangled with bedsheet, both got pulled out and took five mins to refit each bed No slippers Couldn't find power jack for study desk Location is good, right next to BofA Overall OK but won't come back unless staying for only one night by myself. It is too minimal to be functional.

Yelp
solomon the african worker who valets cars is horrible!!! told me i was ok to go into the walgreens in this hotel and he lied...was charged 13 dollars because walgreens had a super long line for checkout...solomon mom definitely swallows huge loads.

Betsy S.

Yelp
If you DO stay here request a room away from the homeless man playing the drums late into the night. He plays on the College Street side so inquire when you check in. They are fully aware of him. Unless you want a private drum concert from your room... Other than that, top notch all around.

Selina I.

Yelp
I checked in this weekend for a cheer competition! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! After not only having the most unfriendly unwelcoming front desk, check me in. I get into my room and find the nastiest bathroom ever. The shower was disgusting. The bathroom had dirt in the corners. I let front desk know, and management told me they were going to have someone come upstairs and clean the room again. After housekeeping left the room, I went back in and it looked the exact same just smelled like cleaning products. I've been contacted management again that I was speaking to He informed me he would have the room cleaned again when I left to take my daughters to practice. I got back into the hotel room and checked my room look the Exact same !!! This is so Disgusting I was better off staying at a motel 6! The photos below are supposedly after it has been cleaned THREE TIMES!! All this money spent for a weekend and I had to ask other friends if we can shower in their room. $900 weekend and I can't even shower in my own room!

Yelp
The Omni Hotel is a perfect place to stay when visiting Charlotte, NC. I stayed here for a trade convention and it was just a few walkable blocks from the Charlotte Convention Center. Easily accessible around the hotels are a variety of restaurants and shops that cater to a wide range of interests. Its rooms are well-equipped, modern, spacious and well-maintained. There are also restaurants and a bar inside the hotel and a staffed gym on the third floor. I highly recommend staying in this hotel when visiting Charlotte.

Gabi R.

Yelp
Had a great stay here while we were in town for a conference. The rooms were comfortable and I loved the long couch in the room that gave me a place to work. The staff were phenomenal from the managers to the bartenders. Such a welcoming environment! Everything was also a quick and easy walk away.

Jessica C.

Yelp
We stayed for a staycation, and I will say I wanted to go back home. The walls are ridiculously thin. Like you could hear EVERYTHING. LOL- no but really. The valet was ridiculously priced for our stay, the stay in general was just overpriced but that's expected after covid. The pool was our view so it's okay that it was loud it was a nice day, but there was no room. I know that it is tik tok famous but I had to go to the pool the following Sunday before checkout simply for safety when it was less people. This was our one and only time staying here for sure.

John M.

Yelp
The hotel is clean and the staff at the front desk and bar were attentive and nice. it was cold outside, so no nighttime noise or distractions. My room and bathroom were reasonably up to date and clean. However, the reason i didn't give them 5 stars was that i booked this place to use the gym (the Charlotte Athletic Club) during my stay (a business trip). This gym has really slipped during covid and is a D-U-M-P. the locker room smells bad and the whole place needs a paint job. I now need to find another hotel if i want to work out during my stay. bummer.!

Wow Z.

Yelp
Loved our stay here!! The staff was GREAT and having just come from a completely non-responsive hotel this one was awesome. Check in was great, the gym was awesome and the pool was a lot of fun. My husband and kids played cornhole, I drank my drink and people watched and the vibe was perfect! It was our last stay on a 10 day vacation and it felt like the grand finale! Just wished we had more nights here! (Oh and the location was perfect for dinner and breakfast restaurants! You could drive somewhere but no need to!!)

Flavia V.

Yelp
Some friends came to visit and I recommend this hotel... why? I'm still asking... No vending machines on any floor. Toilet seat so lose they had to fix it to use it. No ventilation in the bath room. Shower doesn't drain well. My friend stood In at least two inches of water during my shower. Afterward He had play with the drain to get the water to start draining even a little. As of this post, it still has not drained. No trash bags in any of the trash cans. I'm shocked to see this at a place downtown where all the businesses come for events I'm here for the WERC logistics event. Paying over $600 for this room so nothing I listed should be an issue.

Savanna A.

Yelp
To start off with positives: I love the modern twist on an Art Deco theme. This hotel is stunning, in my opinion. Kelsey at the front desk, and the gentlemen who was working with her (I didn't get his name unfortunately) were both so professional and wonderful to speak with. I expressed to them my concerns with some things that were miscommunicated to me during booking/check in. They were sympathetic and helped explain what I was missing. Then Kelsey took it upon herself to help remedy some of my concerns. My server at breakfast was a kind soul to greet you first thing in the morning, and the bellhop who brought my bags to my room was super helpful and kind. This was my husbands treat for Father's Day weekend. We got a top floor, corner room, and both of us were so in love with it. I have no complaints about the room. It was clean, interesting and the bed is super comfortable. In my opinion, totally worth the extra money. I was a little disgruntled by severe miscommunication when I checked in. That's okay. It was busy, I've worked in a hotel before, I understand how it can be. The woman who checked me in was a little rude because my license did not match the reservation. I explained I got married last month and am still waiting for my new ID to come. She acted like this was a never before seen incident. I showed her my temp license and we moved on, reluctantly. After traveling and waiting in line, I did not feel welcomed but I dismissed it and kept positive anyway. My concerns were less with the hotel and more with the guests around me. I was not under the impression that I had booked a party hotel for my husband and I. Our calm demeanor was matched by constant marijuana smoking and excessive drinking. While we did have a great time by the pool at the coin bar, the party didn't end for anyone else it seemed. We were woken up around 1:30 to screaming. Then again shortly after 2am to clapping, screaming, door slamming and drunken arguments in the room directly beside ours. This continued for an hour before I called the front desk to complain. When I had gone out to politely ask if they could quiet down, before I could say a word there was a woman on the floor in the hallway with everything falling out. I decided against it. Around 5am, both of us were able to fall back to sleep again. The noise continued even after the security spoke with them. We woke up after a couple hours of rest to find that the lounge was closed and went downstairs for breakfast which was okay. I scheduled a massage for my husband. I think Omni Charlotte is intended for a great time. The coin bar was a riot, we met so many interesting and comical people. A few couples actually paid for our drinks because they could tell we are newly weds, and conversation was so pleasant. Tyler at the bar certainly puts up with a lot, especially as the night continues on. He was a pleasure! I loved the view from the roof. It was a cloudy day but everyone around us kept such great energy that it didn't even matter. Walgreens in the hotel is an amazing feature. Talk about convenient. If you're looking for a quiet getaway from kids and work, maybe stay across the street. If you're looking to drink and eat a lot, Omni Charlotte is it. A very special shout-out to the employees who were kind, helpful, pleasant and professional. Thank you thank you. Would I stay here again? Yes. The top floor was fabulous. We did have a great time. My husband is more "go with the flow" than I am, so when quiet/relaxing turned to crazy/party, he was down.

Jonathan Z.

Yelp
Stayed here for the 4th of July weekend and I love the valet to get to lobby & our room we got was 12 & with a nice perfect city view. Pool 3-8 ft with sky view with nice coin bar & and big screen playing movies, television, and speakers around playing all type of music while everyone having a nice fun time is all a vibe. I'll look forward coming back again soon in the future thank you.

Yelp
I had the most amazing experience here! My wife and I stayed here for our wedding night and everything was absolutely phenomenal! The staff deserved 5 stars! They were so helpful and accommodating they even upgraded it to a suite! I was in tears at the front desk.. just an amazing experience! I would recommend this hotel to anyone that enjoys great customer service and a wonderful room!

Alysia E.

Yelp
A beautiful resort style hotel with many accommodations, right in the heart of uptown. We had a hiccup with some customer service issues but Hector the manager went above and beyond to make things right. I will definitely stay again in the future.

PJ M.

Yelp
We stayed here for my birthday on Memorial Day weekend. Upon arrival, the valet check-in was seamless. The registration desk was pleasant and informative. The view as you walk into the lobby was breathtaking! There's no other way to explain in. Our room was clean and more than adequate and sat on the 18th hole of the golf course. Our first meal was served at The Edison Tavern. The cocktails were phenomenal, and the late night offerings were yummy. I had the smash burger, and my partner had the "Asheville" Hot Chicken sandwich. Both were awesome. The staff and the shift manager treated us like we were the only patrons in the place. As a matter of fact, everywhere you go in this hotel, that's how they treat you. We enjoyed going to Elaine's, the dueling piano bar, where Rachel, the bartender, makes some of THE BEST Old Fashioneds I've ever had! So much so, we went 2 nights in a row! Our second day, we spent walking and exploring the property. There's an antique car museum that is a must-see. We stumbled upon the Blueridge Room by accident, where the front staff convinced us to stay for lunch. What a great decision! To say the food was good is an understatement! Even the guacamole was super tasty! William Bierlein is the Asst. Director of F&B and boy, does he "get it"! The service and food were EXCEPTIONAL! Our server on Saturday was Stan- ask him about his previous career- very interesting. Keisha was our server at Sunday brunch- yes we went back! She was the constant professional when the power temporarily went out. They never missed a beat..these folks are PROFESIONALS! If you get the opportunity, visit the subterranean spa. It's 9 floors down, and it's definitely a site to see! The spa personnel could learn a lot from the F&B team on how to treat a guest. They were very dismissive and rude. You'd expect better attitudes when you're paying $570 for a couple's massage. But we didn't let that spoil our overall experience. This is a beautiful property, and we'll definitely be going back! 10 out of 10!

Yelp
I used to avoid this hotel because it was SO old and dated. On my last trip to Charlotte, I decided to give it another try as I had heard that they had begun renovating. It turned out that I got a room on a floor that had been recently refreshed. Everything on the floor was nice. Fresh paint, new hallway carpet (with nice padding and was easy on your feet), a completely re-done room. The decor was brand new and modern. I think the designer did a great job. The furniture looked nice but was also practical. The layout was well-planned. I appreciated some of the nice touches--like the clothes steamer. There didn't seem to be an iron, but the steamer did the trick for me. Location is everything, and it's hard to beat that with the Omni. That's probably what kept it going even when the hotel was looking sad. Service was very friendly. I appreciated the skills of the front desk clerks, who provided excellent service in a low-key kind of way. Well done.

Britt B.

Yelp
I am not sure why this hotel didn't get better reviews, but everyone has a different experience! We all enjoyed our stay at the Omni Charlotte for the weekend, and would definitely stay again! We paid around $500 for two nights, definitely steep but mostly worth it as far as location, amenities, and experience! I loved the décor, very modern and art deco. The valet service was great, everybody was very efficient and friendly. The room we stayed in had one king bed. The view of the other buildings included in the neat Charlotte cityscape was nice. The room was comfortable and clean. Why there wasn't a fan in the bathroom, not sure. Odd. It was very quiet at night but the AC had a fan and the nightstand had a sound machine (cool!) and we were able to sleep well. I would recommend requesting a room on the pool side if possible. My parents stayed on the opposite side and heard a lot of traffic in the city throughout the night. The best part of this stay was the hotel pool, bar, and just the atmosphere! The bar staff was very friendly, the pool so fun and cute! Being here at night, with the music, huge televisions (Olympic games were on), and the views at night was really magical! Complimentary towels and water, and games such as cornhole were also available. The bar and pool stay open until 10, while the kitchen closes at 9. The views from this area were amazing! Although we left by 10:30 the next morning, I love that the checkout is not until 12, which is usually not the case with hotels. Gives you time to sleep in, relax, or enjoy the pool before departing. One last item worth mentioning, there is a Walgreens, Starbucks, Chic-Fila and more bars/other stores on the lower level. I didn't see anything open except the Walgreens, but good to know! Can't wait to stay at the Omni Charlotte again!

Yelp
Meeting up w other friends from all over the country in June, this was one of the very few hotels near our reunion event that had an outdoor pool! The price of the Omni was much higher than others in the area, but BECAUSE of the pool and it's pseudo opulence, I decided I would stay here and have 1-2 friends over to lounge by that dreamy looking pool. YIKES!! When we got up to the pool area, the place was SWARMING w what looked to be extras from a bad MTV show. I was told I was not allowed to bring my (very small-hand bag size) back pack in. No coolers, nothing-AND we could not sit at/around the pool as that requires not only reservations, but additional fees! I paid a ridiculous amount for the crappy room and they wanted more to sit at the pool!? Which, by the way is not really like the pool in the photos...whomever took that photo needs a raise and I would like them to shoot my next headshot...after leaving all our bags at the front of the pool area, we were allowed to sit at the back of the roof, at a round table provided we ordered food and drinks there. So, here's the gig about this pool area...the Omni (for a fee) allows non guest into the hotel to use the pool, while the guests of the hotel are an afterthought to this side hustle. And friends, this pool becomes a true "inner city pool" with no less than 7 folks sporting thongs who probably shouldn't have even thought to wear a 2 piece. NOT a family environment to say the least. The walls of the hotel rooms were paper thin and this area (inside the hotel as well as out on the streets) is a party zone. What we heard throughout the night up and down the hallway would sound exaggerated (and disgusting) if I went into detail. Really made me wonder what kind of people were staying here! Probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at-HOWEVER, every single staff person-from Valet to bar tender, to front desk-was friendly, professional, helpful and good natured. Far too expensive for what you get.

Amber M.

Yelp
Let me just start by saying I liked this hotel. It's clean, right in the middle of all Uptown and it's not pricey like the newer hotels. The bed was super comfortable, the room was big, and there are blackout curtains to cover all the windows. We were upgraded for free to the Executive suit. It was a corner room BUT the catch is it's on the corner facing the epicenter. We had to sign a waiver also saying we would recognize quiet time at 10:30pm. The noise from the epicenter was loud but it's not terrible at all. They also give you ear plugs which I popped in and went right to sleep. The only thing is that I guess my expectations were slightly set too high. The Omni spent a lot of money adding an outdoor pool and bar area and updating the lobby lounge. I figured they spent some money updating the rooms as well. Again, rooms aren't bad...just thought they'd be nicer. Not the hotels fault though! Guest services are wonderful, that pool area is nice (and crowded...whew). Prime people watching out at that pool bar. We sat out there for hours being entertained by all the people and loved watching some of the guys try to pick up women. Hahahahaha. Anyhoo. Nice alternative to the Ritz and would stay again.

Yelp
you would thinkk spending almostt $800 dollars to stay at this hotel for 2 nights and 3 daysss they would at least hire some responsible valet workers but I guess not .... very disappointed had stuff stolen out of my car will not be returning

Davian E.

Yelp
Information about parking was not shared, initially. Any traveler should know that the valet is the best option and is billed to your room for around 40 dollars--much cheaper than self parking in the garage (which will end up very pricey). When I visited, the motor lobby smelled bad; however, the staff I encountered was pleasant when I engaged with them; however, they weren't very attentive--otherwise. In fact, I spent an entire day at the pool and noticed that it was incumbent upon the guest to order food/drinks at the bar. There's no waitstaff. The rooms are nice and the bed slept well. There's no microwave in the room and there was an ironing board, but no iron. The good part is that it's really close to some fine dining and everything uptown. If you're looking for excellent service, the Ritz right across the street will give you top notch treatment, but for double the price.

Yelp
This hotel is NOT worth the money. I booked to stay for my birthday trip and both the service and cleanliness were not as it should have been. The room was not clean with clumps of red hair in the shower and the room smelled like a retirement home. The guy that checked me in barely spoke as I walked to the counter and offered no info as to amenities or what the hotel offered. I upgraded the room while booking but it wasn't worth all of this. I will not stay here again.

Yelp
I have never stayed in any of the Omni hotels. I love the fact that it is near everything in Uptown Charlotte. The staff were very pleasant and always greeted us when we saw them. We ended up staying here because Expedia had such an awesome deal for their bundle packs for the weekend. Now when we opened the curtains, I could see where it needed to be dusted on the dresser with the television. But that is all I could see for our weekend stay. The bed was very comfortable and I slept with no issues. When it comes to security, I did like the fact that you needed your key card to have access to the floors. If I had to come back, I would stay again. Flight + airfare for a quick weekend getaway for $400, not bad. I needed a little break. Plus, all of the local spots we visited, the individuals were more than pleasant. We didn't encounter not one rude individual.

Yelp
The Omni used to be one of my favorite hotels in the Charlotte area. We have stayed at other hotels in the area and we are always drawn back to the Omni. Unfortunately this recent trip was a terrible experience. We checked in to the hotel and after asking about valet parking, the lady at the check in counter was extremely rude and told us to "figure it out" since the parking deck was full. Which is fine but considering we are not too familiar with the area, no instructions on where to find a parking deck nearby or helpful information was given. So we parked about two blocks away and had to carry out bags all the way back to the hotel. After getting to our room we were heading down to the bar area and I turned and closed my room door but I noticed it wasn't locking. I tried a few times and then kindly went down to the front desk before going to the bar and told the front desk about it. As if they didn't believe me, we went over a few times as to what the door was doing but then assured me they would send a mechanic up to take a look. About 5 minutes later, one of the receptionist came over and told us the room was fine, nothing was wrong and the mechanic said it was locking. We finished at the bar, got into the elevator, put the key IN MY POCKET and proceeded to the room where I lightly pushed on the room door for it to open up. We got on the phone and called the desk and they sent the mechanic up. I then showed him that if he would of actually touched the door, it opens right up. From that point we waited about 2 hours while he tried to fix the door until about 1:30am. There was definitely a mix up between the mechanic and front desk as one person would tell us they could move us and the mechanic would come back on the room right after saying he wasn't going to move us. This happened about 2 times each. Finally after 2 hours of trying to fix the door, a lady came up with 1 room key and told us the new room number. When we moved rooms it was a much smaller room than the previous room but they charged us for the same price. After about 5 minutes of being in the room, we got into bed and a new guest checking into the hotel used his key, or the other key that they did not give us, and walked right into our room while we were laying in bed. This lead both the new guest and myself to walk down to the front desk together to handle the matter. The next day there was a very helpful gentleman at the counter who we explained everything too and eased the situation. I'm not sure what is going on at the omni or during their night shifts but it has caused us to never return back. We also have videos of how easily the door could be open but unfortunately videos cannot be attached to yelp reviews. Although the stay was not what we expected or what we were used to, the bar staff was outstanding as always.

Yelp
Don't bother spending your hard earned money here. Service is less tha. What a five star hotel should be. I ordered a burger at the polio. Took over an hour to show ow up. I went to the oook with a small bag. I was not allowed to take it in. Where am I. Go elsewhere. This is not the hotel you want to be at. Poor service. Less than friendly people and treated like a criminal. Lol. Go for mid range places. They ha e more manners and extremely courteous. Save your money. The worse part apparently the hotel had employees from other hotels at the oool. Th yes gave them oriole it u service lol. Stay at any mid range hotel. This is not worth more than 200 a night. Not at the same level as the Nashville hotel

Yelp
The renovations here sure have done a (hotel) body good! I've stayed here before, usually for a quick in and out trip to Charlotte. My past stays have been uneventful and a bit unremarkable to where I never wrote a review due to my indifference. However, this past visit stood out. Although my trip was just a short as it was in the past, I could tell upon entry that things looked mighty different and the dated feel of the past seemed removed. Additionally, my room was pretty awesome. It was clean and spacious with views of the Epicentre. There were plenty of outlets, a modern looking bathroom, lots of natural light from the windows and a comfortable bed. I really enjoyed staying here for even the short time I spent. Even better, I scored a great deal online for only $118, which made the stay even more worth the money spent. In the future, I'll definitely consider re-booking and will look forward to my stay if I do!

Yelp
Tried to watch tv before going to bed after a long day... shit you not... even on the 14TH FLOOR!! The place is rotten.. the shower has little to no power, there is only 1 light switch at the door, everything else has to be turned on and off by hand. Both lamps by the bed, lamps by the glass and there's not even 1 for the room.. would recommend searching for somewhere else.

Yelp
Great location and the rooms are spacious! If it's your first time visiting the Queen City this is a great choice as the hotel celebrates the history of Charlotte. From the old maps in the lobby and elevator to the hotel restaurant names, all pay tribute to the city. Lots of bars and restaurants in walking distance and super close to the Spectrum center and walking distance to Panther stadium.

Yelp
I really want to love this place but I'm not feeling that southern hospitality, the breakfast buffet is 20.00 each and you should be able to order omelette however I asked the cook how to order and she snapped at me, not good since I'm not a morning person. Our safe does not work we called at 9 not fixed yet which sucks we can't enjoy the pool! The place is lovely and clean, and the Check on folks are nice, but the bartenders have attitudes and trust me I get it I'm a bartender but fake it till you make it I'm on vacation !

Yelp
I would not advise house keeping services at this hotel. My friends and I stayed two nights at this hotel in charlotte, and housekeeping took my clothes. They were in a plastic bag and housekeepers came in and grabbed the bag. After I realized they were missing I called the hotel to find out what house keeping did with my belongings and told me to put in a request. I did, I work at a hotel and I have no idea why housekeepers and front desk staff aren't aware of things left behind here. I also called the housekeepers/lost and found? They also gave me absolutely no answer about where they were. Ive been really upset at this and for the price of the hotel I didn't expect housekeeping to come in and take what wasn't not trash. If there was an option for 0 stars id give it cause they weren't cheap clothes. I believe my friend also requested housekeeping to stay out of our room. Wont be staying here again

Yelp
Great views with a convenient location. The beds are comfortable! Great meeting rooms with plenty of space to spread out. Valet parking is $40 but so is the parking. There is a Walgreens and Starbucks just below the lobby. You can see the Panthers stadium from the hotel it's 1 block away.

Yelp
I must say from the web site I thought I was going to be staying in a posh, sleek hotel. What did they do? Use shutterstock images? It's seems like a low-budget room. First of all, the walls are paper thin. I heard someone else's alarm go off this morning. Twice. I hear drilling (as they are under construction) and nearly every person's breath as they walk by my door. Then, when you sit on the toilet, the seat won't stay up. It rests on your back the entire time. Maybe I'm on a floor that isn't upgraded yet. But I've been slightly disappointed seeing the site was misleading. I have no idea if I'll be charged for my WiFi or not so I'd better end.

Yelp
It's funny how the price you pay can affect your expectations. Got a good Express Deal on Priceline so was happy with what I got. If I paid full price, perhaps I would be less pleased. Positives included attentive staff from the valet to the front desk. The valet saw we had two bikes on a rack on our car and offered to park the car near the valet stand to keep the bikes safe. The room we had (1028) was spacious and clean. There is actually a wall in between the sleeping area and the bathroom area, which is nice in a shared room. For my wife, the nicest touch was the complimentary ear plugs she found in the nightstand drawer. I've never seen that in a hotel before. The wi-fi is not free in general, but if you join the Omni loyalty program you can get free wi-fi. We didn't use it, but guests have access to the Charlotte Athletic Club which accessible from the lobby. Location is very central to most downtown locations. We had a beautiful view of the art deco B of A building from our window and no trouble with noise from the Epicenter because we were there on a Tuesday night. On the down side, the pillows were awful and the hotel is showing its age and a bit rough around the edges. Seams in wallpaper showing in places, toilet paper holder loose, and the carpet in the hallway on the 10th floor was bunching up so much I could have easily tripped on it. Those things were easy enough to ignore for $99, but for $189 I would not be as happy as I was.

Yelp
I decided to stay here during Valentine's Day this year & was completely shocked at how it was. The hotel is seriously outdated & disgusting. During my stay there were 2 roaches within my room. One dead & alive. For all the money you pay you'd think the room would at least be triple checked of cleanliness. Will not recommend or stay here again

Yelp
Hotel is nice. However the "rooftop pool" that went viral on tiktok is overrated.. we paid $82 a person for a "VIP service" day pass to the pool..we only got a couch and a bucket of water. The service wasn't attentive and the food was expensive and wasn't tasty at all. Don't believe the hype..

Yelp
Visit date 8/30-9/1/2019 THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL!! We really enjoyed our stay here! It's in the perfect location when visiting or like we did a Staycation. You will not need your car to drive anywhere. Visit the coin bar the pool area. You can get in the pool and watch the games on TV. You can order food and drinks at the Coin Bar! The pool is not roof top BUT it's high enough you can can see the second floor in the Epic Center. The hotel Is right across the street from the Epic Center and two blocks from the Spectrum Center (where the Charlotte Hornets play), two blocks from the light rail, three or four from the Bank of America stadium (where the Panthers play). Surrounded by plenty of places to eat and visit. Down stairs of the hotel there is a Which Which, Walgreens, Starbucks, Energy cafe and Bistro. There is a catwalk from the Hotel to the Epic Center. The staff was nice. Valet service is available $30 per day and you can come and go as you please. Cons:... 1. the pool need either to be clean or need some tender loving care. Had a greenish tint to it, me and other guest would not get in it. 2. The pool area close at 10 PM 3. They will hold $50 a day and I was never told at check in. He guy just asked me what card I wanted on filed and when I looked at my bank account I notice I was change $100.00 extra. Would I stay again?? OF COURSE!!

Yelp
This hotel is in the perfect location Uptown. I'm a local so this was a quick getaway from the home life. Upon entering the lobby to check in, the scenery is very pretty. The staff was very accommodating and cheerful. They explained the noise that exists until early mornings because of being so close to the EpiCenter, which is a huge plus because there's plenty to do. Eat, drink and socialize then head back to your room. With that being said the hotel offers ear plugs or noise canceling machine if you need them. I was extremely disappointed when we got to our room!!! Omg it was disgusting. It had a foul smell, there was obvious stains on the chair, carpet was shedding and it was very outdated. Very. The best thing about the room was it had a wrap around window view(pretty cool). And yep, we called the front desk and asked to be switched to another suite for obvious reasons. It was done without hesitation, the bellman came upstairs to give us our new room key. Higher up and with an amazing view of the Epicenter, Uptown Lights and the pool. The Coin Bar is extremely overpriced...two cocktail drinks and a Bud Light was 32 damn dollars!!! They let us have a late checkout of 1pm which was perfect because our night was nothing short of FUN and the extra nap is needed. Even as I type this review

Yelp
I could go into details about our stay, but I will keep it short, The Omni was once where you wanted to stay in downtown Charlotte. Now it is just an overpriced hotel to stay in a rapidly deteriorating city. Be aware of your surroundings outside the hotel. There is a large group of homeless that make this hotel their home base. And if you think that you will be getting any sleep, think again. The parties are allowed to go on all night with drunk people fighting in the halls. I stay at other Omni hotels that have kept up with what you expect for the price point. It's not the sole responsibility of the hotel, this once beautiful city is losing itself. We won't be returning to Charlotte for events in the future,

Yelp
This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at . The rooms are very old and out dated, the carpet is filthy , the bathroom is very small they don't even have towel racks or a place to hang your washcloths and not to mention the rates are ridiculously over priced. The best thing about the entire place was the coin bar. I wouldn't recommend this place it's the worst.

Minnie E.

Yelp
Rooms were noisy all night long- far beyond just noises of a city, including a man with a bleeding head injury in the hall after a brawl. Housekeeping came late each day / like after 4 pm and the carpet in the halls are filthy. One day our toilet paper wasn't filled, another our coffee and creamer. They even picked up dirty towels off the floor, folded them back up, and put them back on the shelf :( We certainly will choose a different hotel on future trips.

Yelp
No pool, no room service, no maid service, no communication. Ridiculous. Never have felt less welcome at a hotel.

Yelp
We found a deal on priceline.com for a one-night stay with taxes and fees for $150. For a downtown center City location we thought that was a good price compared to comparable facilities in the area. Driving to the hotel was terrible a lot of the streets were closed for a festival on top of that there's a lot of construction. The guys for valet were nice and we took the elevator up to the hotel lobby for check in. Check in was quick and easy and everybody was friendly at the front desk. After checking in we sat by the pool for a little bit, we found the drinks were really overpriced so we didn't have anything but the TVs outside were nice and the DJ was cool. Showered and headed out to dinner. After dinner there was an amazing group of young men playing brass instruments, about 10 members in the band total. Slept well, the beds are really comfortable we didn't have any problems with any type of noise. We are on the 10th floor. We headed out early morning to go to the seventh Street market, left our car in valet as we didn't want to drive in this city. We wanted to take advantage of the valet as we felt it was over priced at $33 a night. Nothing special at the market. Checked out and back on the road, would recommend the Omni if you want to be downtown!

Yelp
First I would like to say thank you to Kevin at the front desk for his excellent customer service upon our check in. When we arrived we didn't even have a reservation for the weekend. He assisted us and did everything to make us feel welcome and enjoy our stay at the Omni. The hotel is beautiful and is in a great location. We were told at check in that our room would face the Epicenter and that there would be live entertainment until 2am for both nights of our stay. We were offered earplugs and a sleep kit if needed. We were completely exhausted Friday night so the noise didn't bother us at all. Turned the tv on and off to sleep we went. Saturday night it seemed louder so I used ear plugs which helped some. The pool area is really nice and has some fabulous views of the city. It closes at 10pm which seemed early considering all the noise from across the street. However there are rooms right off of the pool deck so we understood why. One thing that was an issue was people coming in to the pool area during the day on Saturday afternoon that were not hotel guests. They were standing there at the exit doors waiting for people to leave so they could sneak in. The pool area was already packed. In the evenings on Friday and Saturday there was an employ there to ask to see room keys so that eliminated that problem during that time period. All the employees in Club 14 (club room) were fantastic and very attentive. We made it up there Friday evening for dessert and drinks right as it was closing. Breakfast was very nice the 2 mornings we ate in there. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others.

Yelp
Glad we had a good deal to stay here the last weekend of January 2015. Not our fave hotel stay of all time, but certainly okay. Clean (which is the most important thing!). Room was fine, although dated. Biggest dated feature is the TOILET. Even we have updated our toilets in our 90's home. Not only slow, but also looked like it was going to overflow every time. Not our fave bathroom. Two other things that weren't our favorite this trip: one was that the gentleman who checked us in, although super friendly, gave us the worst directions! We asked which way to go to the Knight Theater, as we had never been to that one before. He consulted a gal at the desk. They proceeded to kindly give us a map with perfect directions, except for the fact that we were led in the exact OPPOSITE of where we needed to be. Fortunately, we had enough time to correct the mistake and didn't miss our show. The other thing that was less than satisfactory was when we checked in we were warned that the next night they were going to cut off water to the hotel for hours. We were told it was something the city was doing, but later learned it was something the hotel was doing. Didn't really matter who was doing it, it just meant we couldn't use a bathroom for hours. We spent some time that night in the hotel bar and it would have been nice to have been offered a drink or snack or something to compensate. Instead it was you can fend for yourself nearby. Still, this is a great location if you want to be in the heart of things. We love to park the car (valet...they were great) and walk everywhere, so this location is perfect for that.
