We had a party of two adults, one young adult, and a toddler and this destination provided fun and relaxation for everyone in our group. The pools were perfect for families, the beach was clean, spacious, and private. And the resort had amenities that made it unnecessary to travel into town every day for food! The location is close to hot spots on Hilton Head Island if you did choose to leave the resort. We loved this spot and have all agreed to make it our annual family vacation destination!

Our family of 4 stayed here for three nights this past weekend and it was wonderful! The location is right on the beach and the pools are nice. The property is very clean and staff was friendly and helpful. It’s a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Would definitely recommend!

Firstly, I am a long time Marriott Bonvoy member; my daughter planned this trip. That being said, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Omni Resort at Hilton Head. From check in to check out, the staff were smiling and welcoming, they appeared truly happy to have us as guests. The cleanliness of the resort, from our rooms, the pools, the restaurants and beach, was impeccable. We had rooms on the third floor facing the pools and ocean and we couldn't have asked for better. We enjoyed stunning views of the pools and ocean. My husband and I appreciated the adult only pool which allowed us some quiet time from the noise and activities at the other pools...though it was by no means rowdy or excessive. The food and beverages we enjoyed throughout our stay were fresh and delicious...the quesadillas at the Buoy Bar even met the standards of our very picky 7-year old granddaughter. Our one regret was that we weren't staying longer. Since our return we have recommended the Omni Resort to all of our friends and colleagues; I'm already anticipating a return visit.

Stayed here with my family just before the Memorial Day weekend, and we all had a wonderful time. I picked this resort, because I had read that the rooms were very clean and the service was excellent. All of those things proved to be true. Since I have a small toddler, we booked the breakfast package and each morning we were greeted with the most fun and courteous staff members. My overall score is 4 stars, but only because of the air unit in our room. Without it on, we were too hot. With it on, we were too cold. This is just something to keep in mind and we should have packed a humidifier. But we will definitely be back!

After doing a ton of research and comparing different hotels, we decided to book the Omni HH for a family vacation. We were really looking for something with more of a luxury feel in both the room, food and the pool/amenities. It seems like a lot of a hotels and restaurants in Hilton head are a bit rundown, but I had high hopes for Omni. I will say after all the resort and grounds are a bit rundown and lackluster. |The chairs at the pool need to be cleaned and wiped down, there’s dirt and dust and food and drink spills all over them. It feels a little sloppy and run down. ||The food and restaurants are not in line with a high-end hotel. It feels way more like a budget hotel with their offerings and quality. The nicest restaurant they have offers Smuckers jam and honey and Heinz ketchup. The s’mores kit that you can buy at the gift shop included generic, old stale crumbled graham crackers. They are totally missing the mark with the food and if you want to feel like a higher in hotel, making little changes even in items like this would make a big difference. We ended up having to make two different grocery store runs just to get the basics so I will say that the kitchenette that they offer in the rooms is very nice to have. ||I will say that the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pools are filled with dozens of kids under age 10 but the island itself is not very kid friendly in terms of restaurants and things to do with the extreme heat. The college age staff that they had entertaining the kids in the afternoons at the pools with games and activities was a nice touch and they were great, but I feel like you could really expand on this and make it even better. It would be nice to have more activities for kids at the family pool throughout the day in the summer. The alcoholic drinks were tasty so we appreciated having those options. ||We had a partial ocean view room, and I was pleasantly surprised on how clean it was. It could use a few updates, but overall, I was happy with the cleanliness of the rooms.|| When you check in the Omni says that they have a “pillow menu”… I thought this was interesting, because they give you four down extremely flat pillows in your room. We ordered a few extra fluffy cotton pillows and they showed up to our room completely covered in yellow sweat or slobber stains, which is beyond disgusting. I think it’s time that they change out their pillows for some new ones. There is no excuse to have yellow pillows provided to your guest at a resort like this. ||For the price point of this hotel, and the marketing that they put around it, I would expect more and personally if you are looking for a higher and stay this is not it. I’m not sure if it really gets better than this in Hilton head though so my recommendation would be to head to Charleston if you want anything more premium (food, beaches and hotel)… you would not be disappointed there.

Beautiful ocean view room! This was our first time here and what a stay! 10/10! The location is perfect, the room was huge and we loved having a little “kitchenette “. I had commented when making our reservation it was our anniversary and when we got there, there was an amazing towel sculpture on the bed of swans. And then treats that night! What a surprise. Check in with tacos and drinks was also a great surprise after a long drive. Over all just a beautiful facility with incredible staff. You won’t be disappointed.

Google
Great resort with excellent amenities! Staff were so friendly and kind, from the front desk to the serving staff outside and inside. My kids (age 2,4) had a blast - pool water was perfect temp and had plenty of shallow areas for the kids. There was sand toys on the beach for the kids to use. Free washing/dryer was an added plus esp with kids.

Google
I can’t praise this resort enough. The location was outstanding (right on the beach), the staff were top notch, and the overall experience was great. The hotel is extremely family friendly. Our daughters loved the activities coordinator and all the great events she had over the weekend. Gaby at the front desk was so great as well. She went out of her way to make me feel special on my birthday and it really is the little things that you remember! Overall, our trip to Hilton Head was perfect and I think a big component of that was this resort. If you’re going to HH with family, THIS is where you need to stay!

Yelp
We had a lovely visit. Everything is well-kept and clean. Outdoor bar and breakfast staff were super-friendly. "Resort fee" always perplexes me - just add it into the price of the room - don't tell me that you're charging me extra for some things that I'm not even using (like in-room coffee or WiFi). This seems to be a big theme - charged even if you didn't use it. I had to call accounting the day after my visit to dispute "late checkout" fee as well as "early check in" even though I didn't use either.

Yelp
We've never been to HH before and now we can't wait to go back...and we'll stay at this resort. Super easy check-in. The staff took our bags to our room as soon as it was ready. We hung out in the lobby and enjoyed the flavored water and fresh fruit while they prepared our room. They have 3 pools (family, general, and adult). The family/kids pool was not so good. It was right next to the splash pad but the pool was just a sudden drop, nothing easing in. However, we loved the general pool since it was a gradient in and the kids loved it! There was also shade IN the pool from the umbrellas! There's also beach access from the hotel so you can chose to use the pool or beach. The chairs and umbrellas on the beach need to be rented for a fee. The staff was super helpful. We woke up at 3 am since our sound machine stopped working and thankfully, after rushing down to the lobby, they were able to find a charging wire for us to use for the remainder of our stay. The gym was very clean and had a refrigerator full of water for consumption. Lots of parking available.

Yelp
Great place to stay to experience all of Hilton Head! My husband and I vacationed in Hilton Head for the first time last week. We stayed at the Omni and couldn't have had a better place. There were so many options and amenities. You could shuttle to various shops and restaurants in the area. Plus many in walking distance. There was a golf course, kayaking outfitters, ability to rent bikes and more. Omni has multiple restaurants on location. HH Prime is a steakhouse. XO is a sports bar. They also have a pool side cafe that serves small lunch options and drinks. You could rent an umbrella and chairs for the beach. Great prices. And the beach is right past the pool. Everything definitely felt luxurious and private. The pools and hot tubs were all in great condition. The hotel room was perfect. It had a small dining table with small kitchenette. A cozy couch. Everything was clean. And felt like a great home away from home. The hotel has a gift shop full of cute things. Expensive but cute. There are a ton of small, cozy seating options throughout the property. Some with fire pits. Outdoor games like chess and ping pong. The front desk gave us drink tickets for the little Palmetto Market that serves coffee/tea and more.

Yelp
D'Eia and Nicki are amazing masseuses! 3 day stay. Beautiful room. Hubby got "best massage of his life!"from Nicky . D'Eia managed to work all the knots out to f my back. Superb experience!

Yelp
I've traveled so much for work. I've even stayed in a few hotels that are fancier and even more updated than the Omni. But I've never been at a hotel that was so welcoming and kind and caring. Obviously implementing Ritz Carlton practices of remembering names and detail. Very, very clean rooms and lots of nice amenities. Beautiful, open hallways and outdoors. It's isn't perfectly appointed because they are steps from the ocean and the physical plant is constantly fighting with winds and salt water. But it is amazing. I was on the 5th floor and the hot water wasn't delayed or out. Fresh clean towels. Love the floors are not carpeted and clean!! Lots of pillows, everything neat and clean. No "hotel" smell. The food for breakfast/lunch/dinner was great. They kept coffee and soda stocked up. Silver wear and plates and cups were clean. Front desk was great! Housekeeping really cared! But the star of the show is Samar, one of the valets. Kind, helpful, service-oriented, good natured, loves his job, easy going, jack of all trades, gets every need meet immediately without any questions! I hope the Omni recognizes him. He is a gold star in your cap and would not be easy to replace. So don't do that. After hiring quite a few people, I can say one of my greatest tests for my hires was to discover if they worked as well when I was not there, as when I was. I can assure you, Samar does. I had a moment to field to the accountant and she was very friendly. The only down side was the managers. I spoke to two of them and they seem very aloof. Maybe they were each having their own bad day. I'm not sure, but very different experience than the stuff that were delivering the guest services.

Yelp
We did a good amount of research prior to our first trip to Hilton Head. We are loyal Marriott travelers but had to make the exception here- and am SO glad we did!! The set up was absolutely perfect. Absolutely no regret about booking the upgraded ocean view. We love children but sheesh were we grateful for that adults-only pool!! Unfortunately we missed the outdoor bar opening by less than a week. 3 on-site restaurants have everything you need and it's a short, beautiful walk to the General Store for extras. Parking was a breeze. Free guest laundry (though the machines are in need of maintenance- consider packing a travel clothing line, $10 on amazon.) Was really a perfect visit- will certainly return.

MJ B.

Yelp
We came on a saturday at the end of a holiday week so I assume a busier day than usual. We were disappointed with the pool area. The pool chairs were all empty but "taken" with towels so no one who actually wants to sit can sit in them. The pools were cloudy and felt dirty. It was very crowded. The pool bar took forever to get waited on despite being empty and the food wasn't great. The room is nice but the carpets didn't seem vacuumed and there were some hairs around (not ours). We expected more for $1000 a night.

Yelp
Not really a fan of resorts as I grew up right next to the beach and some mountain range in Asia however my friends were visiting me in Georgia and we ended up a little bit north of Savannah--at HHI in South Carolina! Booking was a pain as most resorts in the island was almost fully booked. The resort had the usual resort stuff that you'd expect but what I appreciate is that it's clean, the staff area nice and I don't feel being overcharged for every little request we made. Size of the room is pretty decent. There's a coffee maker, microwave oven. I remember seeing a couple of dryers in our floor and some vending machines. Not sure about washers though. If you're after the beach scene, this resort has access to the beach. There are beach chairs and umbrellas for rent--when you do rent them, the lifeguard on duty puts your name on the paper by the chairs. Maybe it's the type of crowd this place draws--there was nobody stealing chairs/umbrellas. When people see the names on the chairs, they move on. There are towels all over the place that you can grab and places where you can put them away. They're not strict with it We did walked by the beach at night and it was as expected a surreal experience. Moon shining brightly and you can see the stars (and planets) clearer than usual. Good idea to install a star tracking app to figure out which star/planet you're looking at. There are many food options in the property and we averaged $60-$100 including tip and taxes for three people per meal. Not too bad. It is also a short drive to Krogers and a big Walmart if you run out of necessities. There are lots of restaurants outside the resort. The whole side of that island felt 'themed' with similar-looking signs displayed outside resorts and establishments. Driving was a bit easy from Savannah/Hilton Head airport which took a little bit over an hour. Not sure about the toll situation and why their toll system won't work with toll RFID's/transponders from other states. Peach Pass of Georgia would work with North Carolina but not South Carolina.

Yelp
This is a lovely little slice of paradise in Hilton Head. Perfect location on the beach, great pools and a fair price based on others in the area around our visit. As some have noted, the rooms are a little dated, but they are not awful and they are quite sizable. Generally the rooms didn't win me over, but didn't turn me off either. Location, pools and service were all great. If they did a reno on this property, it would probably go for like $300 more a night, so my vote is keep it how it is haha!

Bernice M.

Yelp
Yikes. I usually stray away from a leaving a bad review but this place is deceiving from the pictures on the internet. It's very outdated. We paid for a resort view and the view was of the parking lot. When we asked the front desk if this was a resort view they confirmed it was. The room smells damp. Not to be so harsh but this place is more like an Inn than a resort. Hopefully we are able to change our reservation for another hotel on the island because this is not it.

MK J.

Yelp
Good location and wonderful views (trees and ocean). Parking was easy! It is nice but not luxurious on inside or anything. The staff members are great and really care about your experience (at least valet and dining). Could briefly hear loud people outside at pool so used white noise app. It's mostly QUIET though (pool closes at 10), and you can always report noise issues. Great having a small kitchen area and couch (and balcony). Awesome sheets. A little musty in rooms- not bad. Would recommend dehumidifier. I would recommend this hotel for beachgoers, but if you're looking for luxury, go to the Montage.

Yelp
Let me say... OMNI TREATED MY HUSBAND AND I AMAZING!!! We went over the weekend for our "BABY MOON" and it didn't disappoint. Prior to going I had bad anxiety because of the mix reviews and I was scared we would get a room facing the parking lot. However, I emailed Sydney with my concerns and was taken care of. Room 432 on the north side was absolutely amazing! My room wasn't ready when we arrived however the front desk ended up giving us a complimentary lunch due to the inconvenience. The buoy bar was absolutely delicious and all the employees were pleasant. The room was ready about 4:45pm. When we walked in we immediately fell in love. They had set up some strawberries etc for our baby moon. The view was BREATHTAKING. I honestly enjoyed going to the patio and looking out at the ocean and watching everyone enjoy themselves at the pool. I didn't have any issues with cleanliness or anything. We ordered breakfast from HH Prime and it was delicious. I believe you have to actually tell hotels sometimes in advance what you're wanting etc so they can make it happen and Omni definitely did that. I am very impressed and happy we chose this resort. Thank you omni for making our baby moon exceptional!

Yelp
This was one of the best vacations I ever had. Very relaxing. Loved eating at the breakfast buffet and sitting by the pool during the day. Accommodations were five star in my book. Loved it and would definitely like to go back.

Paige J.

Yelp
If I could give this place 5 stars I would. But sadly we only came for the day so I'm unable to review the resort in it's entirety. We purchased day passes and spent the entire day lounging at each of their three pools. The pool bathrooms were immaculate, the towel stations were always fully stocked and smelled so clean, and the staff were walking around continuously taking food and drink orders poolside. They have an adults only pool that was very pleasant. It was quiet and calm with soft music playing on the speakers hidden around the lounge chairs. I do suggest you get there early if you have more than two people in your party. The lounge chairs are claimed quickly. Lunch was pretty good, but a little overpriced for the quality. They had great food and drink options for kids. I was mostly blown away by the interactions I had with the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly and eager to make your experience memorable. If you want a good cocktail, find Garfield at one of the outside bars. He was so pleasant and attentive.

Yelp
This Resort is one of the best resorts we've ever been to where we did not want to leave! My husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary here and it was a great experience. We were warmly welcomed by the staff immediately as we pulled up. Check in staff was really nice. Our room was awesome with breathtaking views. The staff was soo nice. Stephanie from housekeeping was the best, she made sure we always had everything we needed, and she made sure our room was thoroughly cleaned. She went above and beyond and for that we really appreciated her! She was such a genuinely kind and nice person. We also had the pleasure of meeting Shelly who was our waitress at HHPrime for breakfast. Shelly with the beautiful smile lol. She was another genuinely kind person. The staff at Breeze was awesome as well as the drinks. But overall the entire staff was VERY VERY NICE. This resort is so beautiful with plenty to do or just to relax. We plan to come back again.

Erin S.

Yelp
We loved just about everything here. My husband and I came to this Omni for our anniversary in October and while we lucked out with weather, the resort was absolutely perfect for what we love to do. We came to enjoy sunshine, good drinks and good food - and they offer it all. There is a shuttle from the resort and they'll take you anywhere within 3 miles- we utilized this a ton. Upon checking in I mentioned it was our anniversary and the woman at the front desk had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries sent to our room! They have three pools (one being adult only), two outdoor bars (one adult only), access to the ocean, a sports bar, a restaurant and a small grocery one stop shop with quick service food options. The rooms are extremely large but they are slightly dated in some areas

Ponsay R.

Yelp
I want to start off by saying everyone I have encountered at the resort was super welcoming and professional. I just wanted to personally give a shout-out to Michelle, Laverne, Chili, Will, Molly, and Gary. Each one of those individuals was caring and sweet. Everything I called for was done within minutes and there was never a no for an answer. Very amazing people and have amazing hospitality. Every staff member was awesome I'm sorry I couldn't get everyone's names! Very pleased and happy with my stay.

Lindsay M.

Yelp
I was very nervous prior to visiting the Omni due to other reviews, but this resort met my expectations. My husband and I spent a week here in room 532 which had the absolute BEST view! I was blown away each morning we woke up and looked outside. The porch was fabulous to enjoy a cup of coffee or dessert. We were able to spend most days at the resort without having to leave at all. We loved breakfast and dinner at HH Prime. Service at HH Prime was fabulous. Always met with a friendly face. We also loved spending most of our days at the adult pool. Molly was a fabulous server at the adult pool. We were able to order lunch and drinks from the Buoy Bar as needed. Just a few reasons why I couldn't bring myself to rate a five star: - The service at the marketplace was less than desirable. There were several times we walked in ready to order food and weren't even acknowledged. I always felt like I was interrupting these girls who worked the counter who were so enthralled with always looking at the work schedule. It was odd. - Resort fee. Okay, I get it. But if you're going to charge me $25 a day at least stock the dang kitchenette with utensils! No silverware or plates are provided at the moment which is very inconvenient and something we were not aware of until we actually checked in. Also, another $3 a day location Hilton Head fee? WTF is that? Had no clue that was even a thing until I looked at the folio upon check out. - The Spa: spent two days at the spa receiving couples massages. They were good, but overpriced in my opinion. Especially for a spa that does not offer any actual amenities. I've spent less at other spas where we were able to enjoy a lounge filled with books, magazines, teas, snacks, etc. No showers, no changing rooms. Felt more like a massage parlor than an actual spa and I don't think the pricing matched the offerings of the spa. - Our Anniversary: we noted we were spending our anniversary and baby moon here and it was only acknowledged with a "Happy Anniversary" upon check in. I've seen other Omni resorts actually celebrate these big life moments with strawberries and champagne or something. Just a tad disappointing. It would've been an extra special touch, but the opportunity was missed there.

Kay W.

Yelp
I wanted to love it. We have stayed at the Omni at Amelia Island Plantation several times. This Omni does not even compare. VERY outdated for what you'd expect for an Omni resort. A simple update such as carpeting everywhere would be an amazing start. I don't think the carpet in our "suite" has been professionally cleaned in years. The pool layout is odd. The place is surrounded by dark wood. That may have seemed lush in the 90s but not anymore. I saw 2 bugs in our bathroom during our stay. The one saving grace is that the staff was so nice and friendly and willing to help. Oh- and if you need the shuttle, you have to call them. It doesn't not run on a regular schedule. Just weird. So many little things that can be done to improve this place.

Amanda C.

Yelp
This place is wonderful. Just left our first weekend there and it was just outstanding. It's located on the end of a long line of swanky resorts. From checking, you are greeted by the lovely staff making you feel immediately as though you're on vacation. The resort gives off a very summer camp vibe...in a really nice upscale way. The wooden decking leads you throughout the entire resort. The rooms were very nice for the price and ours was extremely clean. They provided ample towels, bottled waters, even a little Covid stuff (packaged masks and anti bacterial wipes). Everyone greets you in the hallways and wishes you a great day. Not one staff member seemed like they didn't like their job. They had three separate pools. One was dedicated to the adults only and has a bar attached to it. I can't say enough good things about our server Molly who took care of us and an entire pool of needy adults. She was wonderful and extremely attentive. She kept everyone's cups filled all day long. Have no idea how she did it. The kid pools (the other two) are far enough away that you literally hear nothing from the adult pool. I love my child but traveling without her, I prefer adult only feels. The provide fresh warm towels everywhere. The gentleman restocking those was there before you noticed any were gone. Even their security guard was fantastic! The night before checkout we panicked not wanting to leave and went to the front desk to ask if we could have a late checkout time. He obliged and told us even when we checkout at noon, they would hold our stuff and we could continue to enjoy the amenities. We had to get back home but what an enticing offer! The restaurants on resort are great and make it a nice option for those not wanting to leave the resort. Each one has a different food AND drink menu. How cool is that? Our server at HH is expecting a baby and she was the sweetest. And forgive me, I can't remember her name but she was so great too. The bartender at HH was also fantastic. Made us some yummy espresso martinis that were to die for. All in all, this resort has made us loyal Omni members for certain. Thank you again to the amazing staff for putting up with us Labor Day weekend. You guys are all amazing hosts and we can't wait to come visit again!!!

Yelp
Loved this place. First time in Hilton head and couldn't have asked for a better play to stay. Little disappointed with the age of the hotel but other than than great location with great amenities. Staff was super courteous and helpful. Tucked in between lush green trees looks so tropical. Almost gave me a feeling of being a Hawaii. Great pools for the kids and great adults pool too. Next year I am coming back to this place again

Loulou G.

Yelp
The hotel looks lovely overall and it was a fine stay though with some negatives. The room was not the most up to date (carpet and furniture was meh) and it felt stuffy perhaps due to the fan near the thermostat that threw off the temperature. Got stuck with a light that would not turn off by the remote and asked for a new remote battery for the fan/light to be changed early (actually the bellman said he did ) but by 10 at night no one had come to fix the light that would not turn off--a call to them was a quick fix . The pool had a light scum of sunscreen on it --perhaps this could not be helped with the numbers of people and kids. The food at the Buoy Bar was okay, not great, service at the pool was slow due to not having enough servers (you see this everywhere now). We checked out early due to just wanting to get home --found a dead (thankfully) roach in the closet on the last day. ; ( The positives -- Cleaning was lovely washing our dishes was a plus and she made an origami towel (elephant and seal) which was delightful. The beach was heavenly on the days we were there--large and uncrowded in August due to the ample width of the beach (which you don't always find) --you'll pay for the chairs and umbrella each day though--it was worth it to pay extra vs the carrying of the chairs/umbrella, digging your own hole and then having to return the shovel-ugh. We liked the Marketplace shop and the coupon for the free drinks each day we were there, friendly servers there and liked HH restaurant though wish they opened earlier than 6:00 pm for dinner, good steak and nice servers both nights. XO was a good casual place as well. They are dog friendly which is why we chose them and it was delightful to see the other dogs there.

Michael Eileen I.

Yelp
Accommodations are clean, ample size and well equipped. The resort ambience is pleasant and relaxing. The staff are courteous and friendly. The on site restaurants are pretty good and the bars serve tasty drinks with fair pours for the price. Only criticism - housekeeping too slow to fulfill requests.

Yelp
We stayed here last week for 5 days. Almost everything at the resort was closed. I understand timing and peek schedule, but a simple note anywhere on the website would be an easy touch. The "spa" literally had 2 things we could do. Do not go out out of season. The customer service for room charges may be the absolute worst of all time. They continue to charge my card this week when we checked out last Sunday. I have travelled for 20 years. I would never stay here again.

Yelp
Hotel location is great with ocean view and close proximity to the beach. Room (2 Queen) was big with small kitchenette which was great. The not so good: Furniture in the room was tired; AC was weak, room was manageable but never cold, areas near door, bathroom and near slider were always warm . Resort was generally clean, pool and bar were solid.

Yelp
We visit the Omni in Hilton Head every year for Mother's Day with my mom and son. The staff is always very welcoming and accommodating. We love hanging out by the pool and ordering room service every night. My son loves to swim in the pool all day, order hot dogs, and drink non-alcoholic piña coladas-- while the adults sip on some of their fun cocktails. The pool is usually busy, so I suggest setting up camp early so you can get a prime spot. I also love how there are two main pools and an adult pool off to the side! The rooms are perfect for the 3 of us-- they could probably use a little updating-- but we don't need anything fancy while we are there :) Since we couldn't go this year due to Covid, we are hoping to visit again in 2021!

Yelp
The resort is nice. A bit aged but nothing to frown about. Walking distance to beach. Located close to shops and restaurants.

Yelp
Popcorn ceilings and stucco walls from 1980. Extremely noisy all day and night. Paper thin walls and slamming doors. Credit card reader doesn't work in the ultra expensive palmetto market. One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Staff was friendly, but not helpful.

Yelp
Upon arriving, after driving from Florida, it was fairly easy to find. Nestled in the canopy of trees, the property is beautiful! With several pools and heated jacuzzis. However, it was too cold for me that day. The staff are outside and in, ready and responsive to assist and welcome you. I have to say, even the staff we would encounter in passing would smile and say "Hello". This is by far Southern Hospitality at it's finest! My only complaint was that our room was next to the elevator. Where all the loud and drunks converged while we were trying to sleep. This was a constant problem until about 0330am. Then by 0745am, the vacuuming woke us up again. While this may be minor to some, my only reason to be here was to get rest and that simply didn't happen. Thus the 4 stars. I wouldn't recommend room 166, it should be turned into storage or staff room.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for a birthday getaway, it was amazing. The view from our room was so beautiful and peaceful. The beds were pretty comfortable and the room also had a kitchen so that was a plus. The best thing about Omni is the adult pool and beach front access. The pool has servers but it does take awhile to get your order, they are pretty busy so it's understandable. The mahi tacos are amazing, good appetizers as well! Being able to go from the beach to the pool was pretty awesome! You can't really beat that. If you're looking for a relaxing stay I would definitely recommend the Omni. I will say the first time we stayed there were a few issues with our reservation, my husband paid for the beach front view and we ended up getting a parking lot view, then they moved us to a room with a courtyard view. He also paid for a romance package that was supposed to be set up as soon as we walked in, but it didn't come until we called the manager multiple times. We spoke to the manager about the experience, they made up for everything and we ended up getting the beach front view. I would definitely recommend the Omni, we had such a memorable experience. We plan to return soon! The perfect place for an annual getaway for couples and families, they are also dog friendly!

Yelp
Not as advertised on the website, not even close. False advertisement. The place is old and outdated... walking through the hallway is depressing, like a dungen. After checking in, we found a card by the bed stating that additional $30.00 per day will be charged to our room for using self parking, the refrigerator, the coffee machine, the internent... this was not mentioned when we made the reservation or during check in. Watch your total bill on check out. At least our room is big and clean with a view of the pool. The point is - false advertisement.

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND - OVERALL EXCELLENT STAY! IF YOU ARE DEBATING BETWEEN THE OMNI AND WESTIN, WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU STAY AT THE OMNI INSTEAD (as I stayed at both within a 4 day period and the Omni was far better - no comparison)! See my review of the Westin for further details (it was horrible). See below for details on our stay at The Omni. We stayed at the Omni from 6/29/23 - 7/1/23, and could not have been happier with our stay! From the moment our family arrived we were warmly welcomed. Everyone was so kind in the lobby and at the front desk. They immediately provided 2 kids bags full of goodies for our 7 and 10 year olds. Check in was a breeze. Our room was on the south side and it was beautiful - large, very clean and nicely appointed. It had a nice kitchenette and refrigerator. The pools were awesome, clean, well kept and there were lots of options for our kiddos - a splash pad, a smaller pool, a larger pool. We had no trouble finding a lounge chair. The restaurant at the pool was outstanding, reasonable and had traditional bar food options as well as excellent salads. They had all the stuff that our kids like, such as chicken fingers, fries, burgers, hot dogs, etc. The drinks were excellent for the adults and kids. The beach was beautiful - white and sandy and not too crowded, and clean. They have several other restaurants on site that we did not try, but we did eat food from the market store/restaurant which had nice breakfast and lunch items, coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt and a bunch of other things, as well as a general store for supplies such as suntan lotion. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about the Omni at Hilton Head. The customer service is superior and every single person we encountered had a smile on their face and tried their best to make our experience as good as possible. This place is ideal for a family with kids, grandparents, or couples alike. It is without a doubt the best hotel in Hilton Head. FOR THOSE CONSIDERING THE WESTIN INSTEAD, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS WE DID BY STAYING THERE (we stayed 2 days at Omni, and 2 days at Westin during the same week to try both out). You will be highly disappointed with the Westin after staying at the Omni. Please see my review of the Westin for details. I am very surprised by the reviews favoring the Westin after personally experiencing both, and for our family we will ONLY stay at the Omni when we come back to Hilton Head. Thank you for a great stay! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
DUMP, as Mae West said "what a dump". This is a 1970s youth retreat has been. As other reviewers have said, the pictures online are very deceiving. Tear it down and start over. The carpet was filthy. The dinner in HHPrime was overpriced and the steak was tough - certainly not prime beef, with the desserts being straight from a food wholesaler. On the bright side, most, but definitely not all, staff were very polite. I still would not rate it high on customer service. You expect more for what you pay for these rooms. I thought we had chosen an Omni, not a Motel 6.

Connie P.

Yelp
Not as advertised on their website. Not a 4 star hotel. This place is old, out dated and caters to families. Online it appears to a luxury hotel like other Omni hotels we have stayed. They advertise a lot of couples and a romance package. As we arrive, it's children everywhere and primarily families. Fine if that's what you are looking for, but based on the website we are taken back. We are so disappointed and displeased. It's pretty bad when you tell the front desk you are surprised by this and they agree the website is misleading. This place is not at all worth the price. Booking a room with a "resort view", expect a parking lot as your view. For an ocean front resort, you need to rent a beach chair, that will then be wet and sandy from the previous person. The daily in room coffee was not replenished. If you're buying a coffee down stairs, ask for it black. The vanilla flavor is too sweet and probably cavity probed. Looking for a seat by the pool, good luck. Although there are signs saying unattended items can not hold a beach chair, this rule is not enforced. Half of the staff is friendly, other half barely acknowledges your existence. This place is a scam.

Yelp
We enjoyed our time at the Omni in Hilton Head. It was A-OK in our book. First, the pros. Service at this resort is excellent. When guests arrive, they are greeted with champagne, and if kids are in the party, they receive a backpack filled with surprises. If you have questions, they answer enthusiastically. Every person employed by the resort had a smile and were a pleasure to speak with throughout our trip. Someone clearly takes some time to focus on service here. The resort itself is beautiful. It is well landscaped with three pools, one of which is adult only. A shallower pool is perfect for younger children. The resort staff plan activities for children throughout the day to keep them entertained while they spend the day at the pool. There is a good deal of shade available around the pool if you prefer to hide from the sun (sun damage is real!). The beach is just steps away. It is so easy to walk out and enjoy the waves and the views. They have great stations for washing the sand off on your way back to the hotel. Having a suite was wonderfully convenient. We have a five-year-old who does not eat very much, so spending a ton on resort food does not make a lot of sense. Being able to make him a sandwich in the room or prepare some yogurt for breakfast was great! The resort is pet-friendly, and we saw plenty of pups roaming the resort with their families. Now, the cons. We reserved an ocean view suite, and when we arrived, we realized our beach view overlooked the parking lot. It was less than ideal. We would have much preferred the view of the beach from across the pool, which is the image you see on the resort website. I did notice that there are parking lot beach views on both sides of the resort, so be sure to clarify when you make your reservation if it is important to you. For the cost of the upgrade for the ocean view, it was not what we expected. Granted, we did not ask to be moved and do not know if the request would have been accommodated. Given how great the service is, they may have attempted to move us. I am a graduate student, so unfortunately, my vacation was filled with research and writing. This gave me the opportunity to learn that the internet service also was less than ideal. Even when we paid the upcharge for "premium" internet service (about $5), the service was still slow and spotty and had difficulty loading images and video. Hopefully, this is not a deal breaker for most people on vacation, but if you have work to do, this may be an important consideration. Finally, while there was not a lot of noise on the halllways, the doors to the rooms are designed to close rather loudly (there is nothing that slows the closing of the door, resulting in a slam). Every night, I was awakened multiple times by doors slamming. I don't know if this is an issue throughout the resort, but it certainly was an issue on our hallway. This was a beautiful spot with kind people, but there were some hiccups that would give us pause about returning.

Yelp
The staff was wonderful, it's not their fault the resort is just not what we expected. We chose this resort vs the others because it seemed to be the most kid friendly and thought our 2 year old would have a blast. Checked in 9pm, room was awful. Our "resort" view was a parking lot, at least I had an eye on my car I had to self park. That's fine, I'll get over it. But the room was musky and dark, the next day the sunlight didn't even hit it. Get past it, we'll barely be in the room. Go to rent a bike to ride on the beach, only 1 kids seat available in the "kid friendly" resort and they allowed 1 family to rent it out the entire week. Frustrated, walk over to the playground which is a slide and rusty bars. No room service due to Covid, absolutely everything is an additional charge. WiFi-15, s'mores-20 bike rentals- wait it's unavailable. But the staff is truly wonderful we were here for 18 hours and they did not give us any issue with canceling, refunding and going elsewhere. Btw- we didn't get the cheapest room, we got a king suite. We didn't spare expenses to cut back, the place was more expensive then any other resort in the area and I thought it was because it had better amenities or included resort activities. They wanted top dollar for very limited service and an extremely outdated resort.

Yelp
One of the greatest parts of living in Savannah is the ability to just pick up and go to the beach at any time. This weekend, we decided to have a staycation at the beach and wanted to stay beachside, so enter Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront. Our stay started off great, we arrived, checked in, and were directed to our building and room. The gentleman at the front desk was great. But that's where things started downhill. We got to our room after traversing through plastic lined hallways and garbage cans blocking the parts of the stairway landings. We got to our room, only to find bedding missing and only two sets of towels in a room meant for up to 5. The room and space was really nice, but the lack of a resort guide was unacceptable. There were no functional explanations of the resort amenities or even a guide for the TV channels (for the kids). One set of tv controls was in plastic saying sanitized, but the controls in the bedroom were on the nightstand. But what was worse was the filth in the room and the lack of a working AC. I called the front desk and they explained the towels and bedding were due to COVID, which I can accept, but the other items I cannot. How can you say that you are cleaning in accordance with CDC guidelines and room isn't even clean. When I called about the AC at 8pm, no one answered at the front desk, and I tried for 45 minutes. I literally had to call the reservation line for them to contact the hotel to ha e the front desk get in touch with me...they're excuse at 9pm when I finally talked to someone, "we were busy, sorry". The icing on the cake though was when I asked this morning for an extra hour (late checkout) in the room and was told that it would be $50 extra dollars. I already spent over $600 on this room, not to mention the problems, and they want to charge $50 more. No thanks. We'll definitely stay somewhere else from now on.

Yelp
The rooms were very clean, the service was excellent! The house keepers were very thorough and awesome! The heated pools were one of our favorite parts. The quad area to sit had multiple games, and two fire pits for a nice relaxing evening where we went every night we stayed. The spa was excellent and it was all very close together! Would go back!

Yelp
Wouldn't give a star if I could. Booked through Expedia and wasn't given the view room reserved. Katie was the only shining star and tried her best to get us squared away. Woken up at 1:30 by very loud neighbors coming in. Today we headed to the pool mid afternoon to see the larger pool was closed due to an accident in the pool. The only pool available to families was the smaller. Security told any families at the adult pool to leave. I spoke with Jillian and got the party line that policy was we couldn't use it with kids. Nothing different about it, but the adult only was something the adults expected. I paid the same money. I expected good service as well. Checked out immediately and head to the Marriott. Never again Omni

Yelp
We stayed at the Hilton Head Omni for Memorial Day weekend 2023. We were told that May is an ideal time to visit Hilton Head. Sadly, it was rainy and overcast the entire time (Th-Mon) with average temps in the 60s. Although weather is obviously beyond Omni's control, the Management attempted an appeasing gesture with an offer for a 15% discount on any days we wished to extend our stay. That was evidently the limit of their rainy-day sympathy, though, as the manager turned me down when I asked instead for a return-visit voucher. The facility itself was clean, the Palmetto Dunes beachfront was beautiful, and the servers were all super-friendly. Sleeping-in was not an option, as the early morning hours were filled with the exuberant shouts of small children and their parents, further amplified to playground volume by the cavernous foyer outside our door. This resort seems well-suited for families, but I wouldn't recommend it for empty-nesters like us who are looking for relaxing downtime. In the event we ever get over how badly we were shellacked by Mother Nature on this trip, we will probably opt for a villa rental instead.

Yelp
Our suite was fantastic, our bed was so comfortable, I wish I could take it home. Staff is excellent, polite and helpful. 3 pools on property and super convenient to golfing.

Yelp
Stayed a long weekend at Omni in mid September and had a wonderful experience. Check in was quick and all the bellmen were extremely helpful with our luggage, even bringing it to our room for us. Our room was located in the north tower with a "partial ocean view" which probably wasn't worth the extra $30 a night but we did have a nice balcony and peek at the ocean. Our room was clean and spacious, comfy beds, plenty of pillows and towels. It was also nice to have the kitchenette and extra seating in the room. We enjoyed pedicures at the spa and left thoroughly relaxed, the spa staff was friendly and happy to assist us. The "quiet room" was a nice touch, we only wish they had more availability so we could have enjoyed the massage services as well. The hotel kitchens were also great, we had lunch at the pool and enjoyed the hamburger, burrata wrap, chicken wings and crab salad. The bartenders were also very friendly and provided excellent service! The pools were very clean and not over crowded. Plenty of seating, towels and shade for those who need it. It was also great to have access to the adult only pool. We enjoyed the pool dj and the live acoustic music was especially enjoyable. The beach access was in close proximity to the pools and our room which was very nice. We did have company sponsored meals at the resort as well and had some fantastic "out of the ordinary" salads and soups, along with delicious desserts. The resort grounds were clean and well kept, nice seating areas, outdoor activities and "patio" couches and lounge chairs in the courtyard where we enjoyed live music at night and even some fire pits. The resorts' cafe had great snacks, delicious "made for you" specialty coffees and donuts. We also enjoyed the indoor XO bar in the evening where we were again treated to excellent service. Overall we had a great experience at Omni and would recommend this resort to others. We look forward to our next visit to HHI.

Yelp
If you are looking for a safe vacation during the coronavirus outbreak, go somewhere else. We booked a week at the Omni after the hotel assured us it was enforcing social distancing, mask wearing, and generally taking the outbreak seriously. I rate that assurance Four Pinocchios. The only "measure" the resort took was to post signs stating that guests had to wear masks. This mask mandate was not enforced at all. I would say at least three-quarters of guests did not wear masks when walking around the resort. There were routinely six or seven unmasked guests in the hot tub. At one point, a group of unmasked guests boarded the elevator with my wife; my wife asked if they could either put in a mask or wait for the next elevator, to which one of them replied "we don't do that," and boarded. I could go on, but you get the idea. I informed management of the situation in the middle of our stay. We were assured they would address it. They didn't. When we checked out, we again informed management of the situation. We were assured they would address it. They never said how. I contacted Omni management after our visit and informed them of the situation. A representative responded that she would address the situation. I followed up several weeks later to see what they did. This time I received a very cold and impersonal email stating that the Omni was complying with CDC guidelines. So, since they aren't doing anything to address it, and because I patiently gave them opportunities to do so, and because this is place is basically a "super-spreader" event waiting to happen, here I am, saying: Stay somewhere else. Besides these issues, there were others--the food and drinks were overpriced, they nickel & dime you every chance they can (charging for beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes, better internet access, oxygen, I'm kidding about oxygen but maybe not because it's really all that could have been included in the resort fee they charged), etc--but you kind of assume the risk that a place like this is going to be like that, so it's not public-shaming news when it in fact is. But a risk you don't assume is your personal health. And that's a risk that the Omni doesn't appear to take seriously. So I'm really sorry that it has come to this, but I wish my wife or I had read a review like this before we visited.

Yelp
The Omni Hilton Head is one of the nicest resorts you will ever go to. If you can try to stay at least a few days. Overnight is not going to do it. You need days at this Omni to take full advantage of everything. The service is amazing. They care about you, will help you, will tell you other sites to see and when you call from your room you are not on hold 10 minutes. The rooms are beautiful. They have been redone and it is ever so comfortable. The pools and all the services are beyond compare. The beach is right there. You never need to leave, ever. The food is great. We ate almost every meal there and were so happy with everything. You will love this place. It is spectacular.

Yelp
Overall, we had a great vacation at the Omni Hilton Head Resort, but we did have a bumpy start. When we arrived at the hotel, we were very impressed with the grounds. They are very beautiful and reminiscent of a resort in Hawaii. The staff, for the most part, was extremely accommodating. Our room was nice, a basic hotel room with 2 queen sized beds. We did have a view of the ocean and the pools which was nice. We went down to the activity center to sign our girls up for the Kids Club which they advertise on their website as running from Memorial Day to Labor Day. When my hubby booked the vacation, he told the reservationist that we were interested in the Kids Club. She said it wouldn't be a problem. When we got there, a young woman told us that we would need to give 24 hours notice if we wanted to put our girls in the Kids Club (the reservationist didn't tell us that) and that there was no Kids Club this week. Uh, say what???? I told her that we made it clear when we booked this resort, we were interested in the Kids Club and no one told us about 24 hours notice and that it wasn't running the week before Labor Day. The hubby and I went to the front desk and spoke with the staff who was largely useless in this situation. One front desk person kept saying to me, "I can see you are upset." Seriously? Ya think??? I asked several times to speak with the General Manager of the hotel about this issue, even showed the desk staff THEIR WEBSITE saying the Kids Club was running from Memorial Day to Labor Day and no mention of 24 hours notice. All I got was a lot of blank stares and acknowledgement of my anger (clearly they took Psych 1 in college). I also spoke with the Desk Manager, and this totally went over her head. No offer of restitution or explanation. Just a long blank stare. Finally, we spoke with the Recreations Director, Mimi. She was terrific. Mimi put together a last minute Kids Club for our children and several of the other kids staying at the resort. Although, I did see the same young girl I spoke with initially tell someone there was no Kids Club when I knew for a fact there was one with only 3 kids in it. Guess the hotel doesn't want to make money because the Kids Club is quite pricey - $75 per child. Continuing on a positive note, the pools were beautiful. The beach was magnificent and the food was good, if a bit pricey. The rest of the staff was super friendly and Mimi was absolutely wonderful. My girls adored her. The hotel concierge (dark haired woman, left side desk) was absolutely lovely. She made reservations for us and sent us a bottle of champagne after I complimented it when they were given out complimentary glasses. Would I go back to the Omni Resort? Probably not. It is clearly run by children who have no clue about how the hospitality industry works (with the exception of Mimi) and I am quite annoyed that I never got to speak with the General Manager of the hotel even though I asked several times and was told he would get my messages. Somehow I doubt he ever did.....

Yelp
The pools at this resort set it apart from all the others! Unbelievably nice pools and lots of private areas to not be surrounded by a lot of people. The pool service is also a step above other resorts on the island. With all that said, the hotel rooms themselves, ehhhhhh. We stayed in October 2021 in one of the premier suites that faces the ocean. The benefit of this room is the HUGE balcony! Honestly, we've never had a larger balcony in a hotel room other than the penthouse at the Westin. But, the privacy this balcony allows is the best. The rooms themselves though are showing a lot of wear and tear. The carpeting is stained and looks dirty. Lamp shades are falling apart. Grout in the bathrooms looks pretty rough. The cleaning staff isn't hitting the big picture items, like the grates over the HVAC unit. So dirty. I actually took a wash cloth and wiped off the grate it was grossing me out so bad. We unfortunately had a room that had a bad leak in the half bathroom. It was inside the wall, and it couldn't be fixed while we were there. Of course, the hotel was "sold out" of the type of room we had, so we put up with this leak and emptied a bucket every few hours to make sure it didn't overflow. When we arrived the first night the big TV in the living room didn't work. The next morning we realized the coffee pot also didn't work. One thing after another, and it was almost $800 a night. So, to say we were upset is a bit of an understatement. Once management understood the extent of problems we were having they were very responsive and nice. Unfortunately, there isn't much they can do about the quality of the rooms. They need massive renovations, which I understand might start happening at the end of 2022. Let's hope so. I don't think we will be back until the rooms are upgraded. Just too many problems going on, and it wasn't a relaxing trip. I do feel for the entire staff and management team though, they have their hands full. I imagine it is rather difficult working in a hotel that has so much age on it. They are dealing with lots of problems. So, with all this said I will say if you stay here, try to stay nice and understanding. Remember their hands are a bit tied too, and there is only so much they can do at this point. Omni needs to step up soon and make this right. My husband's company had briefly considered a conference here, but given the problems they are having, decided to go somewhere else. I can't wait to see the remodel, and hope it solves a lot of problems. Happy traveling everyone!

Yelp
Omni Hilton Head Resort and spa was a great choice for our last summer vacation. Upon check-in, everyone was so nice. I mean, SO nice. We got our room on the 5th floor where we had a beautiful view. I booked this room in June and told them I was reserving to celebrate me and my man's birthday. When we arrived in our room, we were greeted by a lovely rose petal towel origami situation. I stepped outside to enjoy the view from the room and watch the beach waves hit. When I got back in the room, two slices of chocolate birthday cake, two bottles of the good water and a card was awaiting us. How nice! I thought the rose petals would be the only thing they did, which was definitely nice, but we were pleasantly surprised with the cake! They offer room service all day and night, but the menu changes. So no matter what time you're hungry, you have options. The soap, conditioner and shampoo was super nice as well. The fragrance was Rosemary and Mint and it smelled sooo good! From the toilet paper to the coffee to the little pieces of comfort let you know you are definitely getting your moneys worth. They put thought into their hospitality and making sure you get everything you need. The grounds have a courtyard, a couple fire pits, three pools with one being an adult only pool, poolside Bouy Bar which serves delicious drinks and food, two hot tubs, private access to the beach and the best employees that make sure you're enjoying your stay. We were happy and relaxed the entire stay and we are planning another trip for next time, only longer! I definitely recommend this hotel for your vacation if you're considering!

Yelp
Pros: - Beach: soft sand, wasn't crowded, clear view. But the hotel shouldn't get credit for the beach. Life guard managing the pre setup umbrella and chairs was very friendly, but that's also not managed by the hotel. If you would like the equipment from the hotel which is a little cheaper but you are required to setup yourself. - playground/court yard/fire pit area: cute area, lit up by string lights. First night both fire pits were lit, the rest of our nights (total 6 night) only one, which caused a bit of crowd around the single pit and lack of social distancing. Most people were courteous about it but of course there were those people who allowed their kids to shoves and act rude. The chess prices are not out due to covid (understandable) . Playground is too hot to play, no shade to help reduce the direct sun. -kids club: ummm nothing really -pool: too crowded for social distancing, no cleaning through out the day, drinks left on the side of the pool, tables between chairs. Wait service very lacking! Once I watched for one for an hour and nothing. Drinks and food a bit pricy and no variety, typical burger/fingers/turkey wrap/fries. I was craving for fresh salad, fruits, anything light. Granted food was hot when it came out, so hot that the little plastic tub with dipping sauce, literally was melted. Maybe not put the sauce in the box?! - rooms: everyone who said that the pictures are bait and switch.. spot on. Resort view= parking lot view and not quitter than court view- construction noise was loud. Court view= louder pictures of the court/pool. Don't know about ocean view but based on looking, not many rooms would have that. Rooms super basic and not considered 4 star resort (there is no 5 star in the area.) resort fees with all of the ones I visited at least would include bottled water, nope not here. Daily pack with sanitization wipe and masks, nope only once. And standard suites get one, larger suites gets two but all only once. Rooms are dim and dark, outdated, tired looking, once again not a 4 star. Staff: nice, front desk- nice, restaurant staff- very nice but they do work off tip. Anytime we called for extra towels or pillows, they were prompt and always provide more than requested. House keeping- nice but basic cleaning. General info: sanitization stations, two at lobby and one at the first floor with each building, all ran out and not refilled by late afternoon. Result: I wouldn't come to this resort again

Yelp
Where do I start. Request "resort view" and ended up with a view of a parking lot. As that wasn't enough, our room hasn't been cleaned since before we checked in. Pools are ice cold (heaters are broken). Drinks at the Bouy bar are price (as expected), but no for the staff to continually close your tab on your behalf before you can get another drink (this allows them to add 18% gratuity on every drink). $25 for a s'mores kit from the store on site (every graham cracker was stale/broken). Overall this place could be better if expectations weren't so high from their "description" online. Resort rooms are not a resort view! With me traveling for work weekly and only staying in Hilton's, I may evaluate other options going forward.
