On The Docks

When I'm in the area I always enjoy this restaurant/bar. The location is great and last summer I enjoyed both the restaurant and the outdoor bar that on my yesterday's visit exubed frozen winter vibes! So, this time I and a friend enjoyed the indoor bar which was fun too .. with friendly and joyful camaraderie amongst staff & visitors. We had drinks & ... appetizers that were tasty ... and ... the service was great & prompt. 👍🙂👍

This establishment is conveniently situated on the waterfront. My selection of this restaurant was predicated on the accessibility for patrons arriving via personal watercraft. The availability of docking facilities for boat travelers was a key consideration. "On The Dock" offers two dedicated boat slips, B2 and B4, also bulkheaded. In addition to the appealing water views, the restaurant provides a positive dining experience with satisfactory cuisine and a helpful, friendly staff, as evidenced by my inquiry regarding docking arrangements.

My inlaws took my wife & I here for dinner here tonight. Beautiful restaurant. Great menu options. Delicious food. Excellent service from our waitress Jessica. My wife kept raving about the short ribs & flourless chocolate cake. She shared with all of us and both are 5 STAR items we highly recommend trying. *Appreciate the fact restaurant music wasn't blasting Truly enjoyed our dining experience & will most definitely come back.

Went out East to spend the day and picked this restaurant on the water. What a pleasant surprise! The outside deck had a nice view of the harbor. The food was amazing...perfectly cooked and delicious. The wait staff was impeccable and knew what true food service was, with our waitress, Paula, paying attention to every detail. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I will be going back for a long time to come. Congratulations to the owner and staff of this hidden gem!

My family and I had high hopes for this place, drawn in by it's great location on the docks. It has tons of parking and a really nice view from the back deck. The vibe inside is great, but that's when the best part of the experience ended. The service was good, the food was the real issue. You'd think a place called "on the docks" would have amazing fresh seafood. But it wasn't th case. The raw clams were good, but the oysters and mussels were definitely not fresh. The wings were maybe the biggest puzzle. We were there right when they opened, but the wings were so tough it seemed like they were just leftovers that got thrown back in the fryer. The only saving grace was the mock-grita, which was delicious. We really wanted to love the place, but the food just didn't deliver.

Had an amazing experience. The food was to die for. Oysters were so fresh and the crab cake was amazing. Also had the lobster bake and it too was delicious 😋 Can't wait to go back!!

We tried the chicken quesadilla, Caesar salad, and shrimp tacos. I never in my life had tacos with seafood but I loved them. There is seating inside and outdoors. Very comfy outdoors with a tent to block the sun but still get a light breeze and feel the heat from the sun. Love place overall. My wife and I will be back for sure Watching the boats on the dock while enjoying lunch here today was an unforgettable experience. Felt like we were in Europe. Love the nautical views

This place is beautiful and I highly recommend sitting outside if possible. Last night I sat inside and it was super loud. Lots of people celebrating birthdays etc. Waitress was too busy and service was less than expected for the cost of the meal. Luckily the tuna, lobster roll, Tira misu and Skyscraper chocolate cake were superb!

We walked in for Saturday lunch on a hot summer day and were surprised to find it so busy. Luckily we were seated right away because there were some tables inside, though the outside patio area looked great. I got wine, which was really forgettable, and we ordered just entrees as we weren't keen on having any leftovers for our ride back home. I got the seafood linguine which came with a heaping full of clams, mussels and a few plump shrimp. My friend had the lobster roll, which was the Maine style mayo kind and came with fries. The seafood linguine was good. I felt there was a good, generous amount of seafood and the sauce was that slightly spicy marinara. I had a bite of the lobster roll and it was good as well. I like buttery warm lobster roll better, but honestly this was not bad and had thick chunks of well-cooked lobster. Overall, this place was pretty solid for a last-minute lunch pick. Nothing crazy you couldn't get elsewhere, but pretty solid with good service.

I came here with some friends for a first time visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Two of us had the shrimp tacos, and my other friend had a salad with grilled chicken. The tacos were very flavorful and had a generous amount of grilled shrimp in them and we enjoyed the crispy french fries as well. I would definitely order that dish again. We loved sitting on the covered deck overlooking the marina and were in good hands with our waitress who was very friendly and attentive. I look forward to coming back and bringing other friends.

Beautiful place. The staff were very kind. We appreciated our server. She was great. They were all attentive of our table. The food was not bad. We loved to sit outside and catch the breeze and look at the boats. There is an inside section in case it gets too cold for you. Just posted a video about this on my social media: @jessiica0204

The place has gorgeous view during the day We had dinner during restaurant week. $39 for 3 course meal. Honestly it's too much food for me. The baked oysters were delicious, the soup was nice. I had pork breaded which was very good except it was smothering in sauce. The salmon was very good. For dessert we had the apple crumble. It was good to try. Service was excellent.

While on the north Fork of Long Island, and after finishing your day at the wineries, when looking for something to eat, your next stop should be ON THE DOCKS. Great American food, ( surf and turf ) and the view is amazing. In the warmer months sit outside on the deck full bar is there and enjoy the boats coming and going. In the fall the sunset is spectacular. Great inside bar with live music on the weekends. Decent prices and parking, friendly staff and hard working. CIAO FOR NOW

Good food but Nicole as a bartender is what makes this place special. Great happy hour specials are amazing

Cuisine: 6 Service: 7 Decor: 8 Value: 6 Overall: 6 Upon reaching the parking lot of this restaurant, you can see why it's called On The Docks. Beautiful harbor view with water and sail boats, the environment is very calming. The interior design is also somewhat nautical with its color scheme and decorations. Staring out the large windows on a beautiful day is really a treat. Our group of seven certainly enjoyed the atmosphere. As for the food, we were able to share a bunch of different dishes from the menu. Honestly nothing too special, but also nothing bad either, so mostly middle of the road. My favorites were probably the Shrimp Po'Boy and French Dip Sandwich. The Baked Grouper, Potato Gnocchi, and Rueben were all decent. I didn't try the salmon, but my friend said that it was great, and it was a huge portion. Our servers were very friendly and have the sharpest ears ever. They heard what we needed and fulfilled our needs quickly. The only unfortunate thing was that they weren't able to come by as often when the restaurant got busy, therefore our glasses were often left empty. What I have come to realize about the far east on Long Island is that there are many beautiful restaurants that offer average food, but always provide nice decor and solid service. Usually the prices are a bit high, but the portion sizes are also quite reasonable. On The Docks follows that exact formula and I don't hate them for it.

Visiting my family from Germany, and I was brought here for our traditional lunch and wine tour. I was amazed at the quality of service (Nicole you're the best), the food, and the overall vibes and view of the restaurant. I highly recommend the delicious oysters.

Great location and ambiance. Food quality was very good as well. Service was great! We had Manhattan clam chowder and calamari for appetizers. Entrees were very well prepared, flounder filet and fried clam strips. Prices are avg for the location

Food was good. Seafood pasta had fresh clams and mussels. Very tasty. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Service was very lacking. The server was nice but all the servers and host were more interested in talking to each other and ignored the tables. I was waving my arms and they still didn't see our waters went dry and bread went ignored.

Stopped for lunch. The view was beautiful, over looking a marina. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They didn't scoff at us when we refused dessert and mentioned we were heading to Snowflake next. Instead, our waitress called over a local wait staff to comment on the best homemade ice cream around. That alone deserves extra stars! My linguine clam sauce was more like linguine with clams. I haven't had any dish with so many clams perfectly cooked. The clams were just over the raw stage, like poached eggs, perfect. The broth was not heavily salted nor buttered. It was delicious enough to spoon after all the pasta was eaten. It was a good thing the dish came with a spoon. I forgot what my husband had to eat. I was too busy enjoying my dish. Linguine with clam sauce is my go to dish for Italian seafood restaurants, and this by far was the best. (Second to Siracusa.) This would be our favorite Riverhead restaurant when we visit!

Food is excellent! Love the lobster bisque. Staff is friendly and service is top quality. Atmosphere, view, bar and music are excellent! Can't wait to Go again!!

We had a lovely lunch here. I had the chicken teriyaki with rice and vegetables and my husband had the burger. We both enjoyed our meal. The service was great and the ambiance by the water is beautiful. I took away 1 star because there were multiple flies inside the restaurant that you had to constantly swing away from your food. We also asked to be sat outside (it was empty) and the hostess told us "no". However, 5 minutes later she sat 3 other couples outside. I'm sure a misunderstanding, but sad that we didn't get to enjoy the beautiful views.

Great food, great service and great view. The fried seafood platter was perfectly cooked. Family had burgers and salads all great. Will be back!!

My first time at The Dock. The ambiance was amazing, service was good. Had nice cocktails and the best crab cake since Annapolis Maryland. The oyster were the freshest and the Lobster back the best!!! We loved it and can't wait to go back!

This restaurant is located not too far from my house and it is somewhere I frequent. Between the seafood, to the salads to the meat options, everything is so fresh. The portions are sizable and it's quite reasonable! What I appreciate about this place is year after year, the quality and standards are so consistent. The service is fantastic. I had a server named Amanda I believe who was so knowledgeable and constantly checked in on us to make sure everything was ok and that glasses were constantly filled. Kudos to her for doing a great job! The restaurant itself is so lovely. It has a nice indoor area with A/C and a lovely outside area right on the water. Coming here for dinner and seeing the sunset is something I highly recommend. 5/5 stars, highly recommend.

I love this place! First time there on Saturday, just by chance came across it. We got there just in time before the place got packed! We sat in the bar area because at first we thought we'd just a drink. Looking at the menu, we got smitten and ordered the Nofo salad, (excellent) and a burger with fries. Food was outstanding which actually surprised me, only because sometimes pretty locations don't have to work that hard to attract a crowd. Now I why it was packed at 6 pm on Saturday night! Oh, and there was fun live music in the bar area. We will definitely go back and sit outside. Now we know to get there early! Enjoy!

Two walked in on a Thursday around 1pm. Greeted and seated immediately. Fairly busy considering the day and time. Bar had a decent crowd. There is a second bar outside with quite a few tables, but is was windy and cool. I didn't see anyone outside. The Inside tables nicely spaced out. Had a nice view of the marina and inlet thru spotless glass. We didn't have any appetizers despite there being an extensive selection. One plain burger with a side of fries and a Nofo salad. We weren't in any hurry and our server did not push us along. Meals arrived in about 10 minutes. My medium rare burger was cooked absolutely perfect. The fries were hot and delicious. The salad was fresh with added chicken, also delicious. No desserts Our server was extremely professional, I believe his name was Ryan. Restaurant was very clean and appeared adequately staffed. Yes, I know a very basic lunch. But if they couldn't get that right, why come back ? Will definitely return. Possibly for dinner or even another lunch sitting outside.

Always good had lunch with friends. Everyone happy. Returned for diner; Returned for restaurant week diner with friends. Everything was excellent. Salmon with an apricot glaze, I had Alaskan Cod broiled, my wife enjoyed a chicken dish. We split a wedge salad, yum. Beer and liquor available at reasonable price. Service was very good. The view of the bay on a cloudy day was beautiful through walls of windows. The nautical decor is welcoming. Very enjoyable meal.

I still totally miss when this restaurant was Phil's but On the Docks is still good. My husband and I ate here this past weekend around 12pm. It was quiet, which was perfect for us! Unfortunately, we couldn't eat outside because it was not at least 65 degrees. I was looking forward to it, too! Nonetheless, we were seated right by the window and had a gorgeous view. Our fried calamari appetizer was absolutely delicious and fresh. I mean, it's a seafood restaurant, so it better be! My chicken fingers and fries were great, I just miss the old fries from Phil's, as I mentioned in my below review. It is what it is. My husband loved his tacos. The restaurant was extremely clean and service was great!

Our food was delicious. We had the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was amazing and we loved the views on the outside deck. We then sat at the inside bar and listened to Sahara. It was a wonderful evening.

I've had a place on the north fork for over 25 years and I can't believe this is the first time I've been to on the docks had a great dinner outdoors last night. The steam clams appetizer was terrific with a unique spicy Cajun sauce that was just right. I also had the black and salmon which was cooked to perfection with a side of rice and grilled vegetables. It was the perfect meal. Our server was cheerful and efficient and we had the opportunity to chat on the dock with other cordial patrons. Wonderful experience great food looking forward to coming back.

First I must say, this restaurant offers amazing views. When we arrived, we made reservations in advance and requested a table that's views the water. The service was outstanding here as well. Every single staff member was so kind and helpful. And for the main part, the food, everything was excellent. We tried the chipotle bbq burger and the seafood linguine. Both were so good and I recommend them both highly. I love myself a good tasty burger, and that's what you will get here. For dessert, we tried the chocolate cake, and this was the perfect choice to end the evening. We will be coming back for sure to try some additional menu choices.

Went there recently (February/off season) the view of the marina is pretty although too cold to go outside and walk around. The seafood was fresh and nicely fried (you can taste it's not old oil) baked and broiled pending our dishes. Flavorful, will be back to try the other dishes. Friendly service and staff all around. Didn't have to wait wasn't overcrowded.

Grilled Octopus for the third time in 7 days! There isn't a place that serves better octopus on Long Island. Tender, charred, with the perfect light dressing. You won't be disappointed.

Came here to celebrate a birthday and it was LI restaurant week. Once you approach the restaurant, it is obviously the main attraction on the block. You can't miss it. When you go in, there is a room for bar partons on your left and the restrooms on your right. You walk down a short hallway to see the host. Unfortunately, you couldn't make reservations ahead of time, so go early or be prepared to wait. They have outdoor seating except that day was a bit windy and once the sunsets, it would be cold. We opted for indoor sitting. We gave the hostess a name and contact number then wait 25 minutes for a table to be available. Travis, our waiter, made our evening memorable by his friendly nature, keeping our glasses filled and checking in on us to make sure we are doing well. If you are expecting complimentary Bread Basket, don't. We decided to order from the restaurant week menu: Appetizers: - Baked Clams Casino: pretty good - Lobster Bisque Soup: had bits of lobster too - yum! Entree: the dishes were large - Beef Short Ribs with Vegetables and Mashed Potatoes: - Linguine di mare with shrimp, scallops, and clans in a marinara sauce: this was delicious Dessert: - Carrot Cake - a bit dry - Vanilla Ice Cream This place has a great view of the docks and great landscape though the sunset might be a bit too bright in the late afternoon. Enjoy!

Superb! We enjoyed fried calamari appetizer, short ribs entrees in fabulous wine sauce, and ice cream desserts. Such a beautiful atmosphere. Service was amazing, thank you, Juliana, and others. Highly recommended!! We will be back soon!!!

Food and service were very good. The view from dock dining is beautiful. As is inside if you're by the windows. Our server was great. We brought some family who came from out of state. They very much enjoyed the view & food also. Pretzel app was really good. We had variety of menu items and all were good: burger, pasta with seafood, salad. Tap beer was nice & cold. Prices a bit high, but for the view it's worth it. Definitely will come back.

We found this place last year on out way to Hamptons. Everyone in my family loved this place. So everyone asked if we could go back last Saturday when we were in the area again. Seafood tower, lobster roll, beer and wine were all delicious. But the surprise was the duck from a local farm. Cooked to perfection, soft, tender, juicy. Don't miss it if it is still on the menu.

Food is standard fare. Everything was good. Service was friendly. Wine was fine! so all good. Reasonable prices! Just not into dining out and seeing screens. TVs everywhere in case you were too scared to leave the house and were worried you might miss the local news, sports game, or quick draw. Way too many TVs

We met four friends there for dinner. We landed outside on the deck, overlooking Meeting House Creek, which connects to Flanders Bay. There is a sail-like covering which shields you from the sun. Food was typical Hampton fare. My wife raved over the Blackened Cod, which was recommended to her by waitress Susan, who was excellent. The men mostly has steaks which were fine & suitably priced. Everyone seemed happy with their food. After dinner, we adjourned to the bar where Tom Chupka 's Trio ruled. The timekeeper playing a 'box', which I had never seen before was outstanding. The tab was within budget & we rolled on out later, perfectly happy to spend a wonderful summer night On the Docks. Check it Out.

Enjoyed our dinner at On the Docks. The water view was beautiful and food was excellent! We had calamari appetizer with the fra diavalo which was perfect! Our server, Makenzie was very friendly and attentive.

Excellent restaurant On the water. If you want to eat out somewhere upscale with outside dining, and bring your dog, this is the spot! Dog friendly. Great seafood, stellar service, awesome atmosphere and great view. They were very welcoming to our large, docile, senior Akita. They were happy to have him as a guest in their restaurant and brought him a bowl of water right away. We were seated at a nice table under a canopy on the dock. We had yummy pina colada's, flounder stuffed with spinach and feta, and linguini with little neck clams. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! Good wine selection. I wish I remembered our server's name because she was so nice and knowledgeable. All the staff was friendly. All around great time. Awesome summer spot. We'll definitely be back!

Very Nice Labor Day weekend lunch here in their outdoor seatings area. We had tuna tartar and fried calamari appetizers and for lunch - lobster rolls and I had the filet sandwich . service was good and attentive . Beautiful light breeze

Excellent view and great food. Their burgers, salads, fish and chips are very tasty. Service is always great. Have been here 8-9 times. It's our go to place for lunch with a great view of the bay.

The mixed drinks are the smallest I ever seen and very little alcohol. Don't order a mixed drink.

The scenery alone on a beautiful day overlooking the water watching boats go by is enough to bring you to On the Docks. They do have high chairs but no kids menu although there are certainly options you can do (like quesadillas). Don't expect to see a tun of small kids there, it's not that kind of place but the servers were more than accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed our meal. Oysters tasted great, nice and juicy but could have been shucked a little better with less grime. Ether way we will be coming back.

Very nice restaurant. Food was fresh but bland! They aren't big on seasoning the food. The staff is very kind and attentive. Overall a nice experience.

Food was average. The salad was HUGE. However they didn't take the pits out of the olives so be careful.

This is one of my favoriate places to go in the nice weather. Sitting outside is the best since the view is beautiful! We went back here after Covid and were happy to see that nothing had changed. The service was great, the food excellent and the whole atmosphere was back to normal. I spoke to the manager to let her know, and she said they were lucky to have all of their staff with them and they never left, like some other restaruants when things were closed down. You can tell that everyone loves working there and that they are like one big family. The inside of this place is also really nice and you do have waterviews, so you can go no matter what the weather is like. They also have an awesome bar and bartenders. It's also a great place to go and watch football, and just hang out for the day. No one rushes you and you can hang out as long as you like watching the games. Love this place! :-)

We came here for our friend's birthday dinner and had a great time. We ordered the seafood pasta, the meatloaf, and the pesto pasta, which we all devoured.. for dessert we have the chocolate cake which was far too big for even the three of us! Definitely like to come back during the summer and enjoy the view.

I was at Jason's Vineyard and after drinking on an empty stomach, I needed FOOD! I searched on Yelp and this restaurant was the closest one nearby. When we pulled up, we were quite impressed. It was a cute little waterfront restaurant. We decided to eat at the bar, which at that time was empty except for one other gentleman. The bartender handed us menus and took our drink orders. I decided to go with a Chocolate Martini, and it was really delicious. I might have had 4 of them! For food, I got cheese fries and a Greek Salad, LOL talk about balance! Prices were fair and service was good. I would definitely come back if I'm out East and in the area.

The location is beautiful, but the food is lacking in many ways. The steak sandwich was inedible, we rarely send anything back but it was not cooked properly and apparently of a poor quality. To say it was chewy would be to kind! The chicken wing appetizer was sub par and lacking flavor in spite of the buffalo wing sauce. The burgers were adequate, nothing special about the fries and or the onion rings. They were still busy later on a Sunday evening but the service was choppy and unprofessional. Very disappointing as this location is very near to home for us and we would enjoy going back for the atmosphere. They have a lovely view overlooking the marina. Hopefully management will not overlook these flaws as it will be full season soon. Reputation is important on the North Fork and I'm hoping that they will step up their game.
