Google
Lunch was really good, the steak burger was very nice and it was a decent serving. The pork belly salad was delicious as well. Staff were polite and friendly. Glad you have indoor dining for the air con.

Google
Last night in Australia dinner and we definitely picked the right place. Excellent fresh fish dishes, generous portions, great service nice surroundings. We'd tried to eat here before but couldn't get in, this time we booked.

Google
Food is ok (nothing special) but service is miserable. All our orders (4 dishes for 2 persons) were brought at the same time, so that no room was left on the table and we had to eat some of the warm dishes already cold. Waitress "trying to figure out" where spoons are. Empty plates were left on our table, despite several waiters passed by and looked at them. Amateurs.

Google
Seriously good seafood. Staff friendly and attentive, making good recommendations (and good general conversation!) I had the chill calamari which was wonderfully soft and very, but the real star of the show was the mud crab. This does NOT come cheap but honestly, it's worth every cent. There is no dignified way to eat crab like this, but forget keeping up appearances and enjoy it - you can afford it!! A visceral experience, messy but intensely satisfying. A genuinely great dining experience. Would thoroughly recommend.

Google
This place is pretty popular. We had the seafood platter for two and it was plenty for two. We had the crab with the Singapore chili sauce and the sauce is more tomatoey than chili spice. Service was great. If you want to just taste seafood, it's pretty good.

Google
We were lucky to get a table on a busy Friday evening and ordered seafood platter for 2 which was super delicious!! Staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the evening. Highly recommended!

Google
Delicious food but the floor team lacked information that the chef should provided to answer our general questions. Ambience was quiet at lunch time, pricing costs were average.

Google
We love this place, having first visited 4 years ago, and over time the standards are still high with great food, service and atmosphere. On a daily basis at 5pm there is a session where the staff try and lure George the giant Groper towards the restaurant. It's quite a show, but sometimes George doesn't cooperate so don't be surprised if he doesn't show up! Rather than carry on singing the praises of this place I will waste no time in suggesting that OTI is THE best restaurant in Port Douglas and suggesting that you pay it a visit, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Great place for dinner after an excursion but if you're hungry or in a party of 2 or more, MAKE A RESERVATION! Other than that, it's a low key yet fancy place for dinner along the water. The food was flavorful and fairly filling. The spaghetti marinara was decent, because it didn't blow me away but also it was pasta in red sauce who could mess that up. The pork belly salad sounded great but the portioning wasn't much of a salad and some would say it was a little too fresh (take that ,how you take it) The scallops in Australian truffle oil on the shell was great in flavor but I wish they offered more. And the flourless chocolate cake was really good being that I have never had a flourless cake, but It was definitely enjoyed. Easily one of the more expensive meals in Port Douglas @ $115 AUD for 2 but I don't want to say worth the price but what they lack in price point they make up in enthusiasm and a good dining experience. But don't take my word for it! Try it out!

Yelp
I went here during off season and luckily this place was open. I opted for seating outside to get some fresh air and to hear the bats. I live in the city and the bat noises just fascinated me. The restaurant is located in a row of restaurants where you can walk through and peak at the menu. I was advised to try this place by my dive master and the hotel concierge. I ordered the mud crab & it wasn't spicy enough. This is the theme in Australia, they don't like spicy. I should have asked to increase the heat level to 10. Aside from that, the crab was boiled well, the flavor of the crab meat came through. The chips that came with the mud crab was fried crispy, how I like it. The salad was refreshing with heaps of goat cheese and nuts, topped off with Italian dressing. I had a glass of Chardonnay, a great pairing for my meal. The portions are American and this dish can be shared. Of course I would never let crab go to waste, but the rest I sadly couldn't finish off.

Yelp
Went to Inlet 3/4/23. Waitress was useless. Would not do separate checks . No substitutions, charged $5 to change for a baked potato! Salmon was overcooked and when we sent back, they returned with a piece that was half raw. Everyone's entree came to the table at different times! They could even process the credit card correctly. What a rip-off! Don't waste you time and money. Way over priced! SAD!

Yelp
Service was relaxed and polite. Cooked food options, while diverse, was either to salty (4x of the house salads) or bland/tasteless (spaghetti marinara, korma fish curry, and barramundi). Mussel and clam was okay while the bread seemed stale. Sashimi was fine. I thought the risotto was on the side of bland however 50% of my friends said it was okay. It is sad that Port Douglas dining options have in common high costs with okay tasting food.

Yelp
We were able to walk in and get a table upon arrival to Port Douglas. I'd highly recommend making a reservation to ensure getting a table, especially if you want to eat outside. We shared the scallops, calamari, and the tuna special. While everything was good, I don't think it was a memorable meal. We had better experiences at other restaurants during our visit. Based on other reviews, our expectations may have been a bit high. It's still a decent place to have dinner.

Kari B.

Yelp
Great place to eat. We were here and hadn't made a dinner reservation, our mistake. Thankfully they got us in! It's was 5.30 on a Saturday. We had the chilled prawns to start, delicious. I had the macadamia crusted lemon barramundi and it was so good. I wanted to eat it all! The portions are huge! Great place to sit outside, eat great food and take in the seaside of Port Douglas.

Lawrence C.

Yelp
A relatively picturesque setting, with the sitting area al fresco, over the shallow part of the bay. Fans placed sporadically on the deck help with the lack of breeze. Specialty is obviously seafood, and our bucket of chilled prawns, $21, were excellent. It comes with two dipping sauces; a herbed, garlic mayonnaise, and also a Thousand Island dressing. We purchased a small, warm ciabatta loaf w/ olive oil & balsamico for $6.50. Fries at $6 were similarly excellent...hot and crispy without being oily. Beers were $8. Service was fine, when we had it, yet they were understaffed and had need for service which caused me to get up from the table twice to attract their attention. Overall, a positive experience, but really only slightly above average due to service issues.

Louis R.

Yelp
Terrific service and awesome food. The trout meal was spectacularly presented and better tasting. Maybe the best I have eaten. Barramundi was fantastics as well. Highly recommend if you are craving fish

Steven L.

Yelp
Oh my god, coral trout was amazing, scallops amazing, we also had the barramundi, yum! My new favorite seafood restaurant in Port! Recommended, great service too.

Irina R.

Yelp
Delicious tucked away cute restaurant! The seafood was fresh and the service was great!

Nguyen W.

Yelp
Really good fresh seafood in Port Douglas. Loved the outdoors seating area, and it was a romantic ambiance. Prices are a little steep but I think it's in a touristy area so probably consistent. Loved the whole fried trout.

Michael D.

Yelp
Can't fault the place.. friendly staff and good value amazing food. Lovely atmosphere and view

Yelp
We walked in on a Saturday with no reservations and were invited to wait in the bar for an available table. We were seated in under 15 minutes (but it's arguably slow season here) - from the looks of the place I'd say reservations (a booking?) are decidedly in your best interest. And if you want to catch a sunset you will DEFINITELY need to be booking well ahead. Wine list was acceptable. Bar was amply stocked. The menu offers a great range of regular items, and a few specials as well - we saw folks ordering what we believe was the chilled platter and it looked amazing. But we also saw MANY people ordering the Fish & Chips - and we just had to get it. And it was everything it looked to be. Beer batter was "stout" and crispy without being overly heavy. The chips were cooked to perfection (and were likewise nice and crisp) and the smallish side salad was a perfect accompaniment. The caper mayo was a bit milder as "tartar sauces" go, but it worked well. We opted for the mackerel and it was a fine, mild but meaty fish. If I were here long enough I'd definitely try it with the trout as well. If you order this mean you will NOT be leaving hungry. Staff was friendly and attentive, we had multiple servers check on us and make sure all was to our liking.

Michael B.

Yelp
The Inlet does not disappoint. We had the Mud Carb which is on par with the king crab we had in Alaska. Also the oysters we great and the Grilled Yellow Fin was excellent. Perfect location and a wonderful experience.

Jenn G.

Yelp
Beautiful spot to enjoy a creative cocktail and bucket of prawns while watching boats head out for evening cruises. Located on the promenade, the setting makes for a relaxing stop and great people watching.

Coznesster S.

Yelp
On the walk in from 4 mile beach you'd think you landed at outlet mall hell. Once you make it into the restaurant the view opens up to the marina and you are surrounded by unreal views of Port D. Do yourself a favour and order the whole fish and a VERY cold Creatures Pilsner.

Steven M.

Yelp
Seafood linguine was delicious! My wife's gluten free fish and chips was average. The service was great with every wait staff asking if we needed something, not overbearing at all. The ONLY reason I'm not giving it 4/5 stars is because we were sat inside and all the other tables sat families with little toddlers who were screaming literally every 3-5 minutes. Death shrieks. Like they were set on fire, death shrieks. That was really annoying. Couldn't enjoy the atmosphere. Food was great, service was great, ambiance was terrible. Maybe it was kids night on a Friday night?

Morgan T.

Yelp
I sat down here for a "treat yoself" lunch of a margarita and oysters. The margarita was weak, with lemon juice and sugar syrup. I hardly tasted any alcohol and it quickly watered down. It was refreshing though! I had the oysters Jim style with fried shallots and a delicious asian sauce. They were unlike anything I've ever tried - I loved them! They did not have that many appetizers or individual fish options, which is what lead me to the oyster option. I'm so happy I got to enjoy the scenic views. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend a restaurant like this. Fast and speedy service with nice toilets and facilities. My only regret is not ordering the seafood platter. It looked amazing! They give you buckets attached to your chair, which only heightens the experience.

Jim D.

Yelp
On the Inlet is probably Port Douglas' best positioned restaurant. Spectacular views of the waterways enhances this dining experience. They have a very good menu featuring stunning FBQ seafood like prawns, local fish and mud crab. Lots of people turn up to watch the fish feeding around 5pm. This is despite a local telling us that the grouper has not been seen for over 10 years. Nevertheless it doesn't spoil another gem in Port Douglas. Ratings out of 100 Variation of menu: 75 Quality of produce: 80 Service: 80 Cleanliness: 75 Ambiance: 90 Overall Rating: 80 Best meals: Hard to go pass the seafood platters, sashimi plate, bucket of prawns, Mars bar sundae is amazing. #ResearchAndTravelServices #facxual_events

Yelp
This was our first day in Port Douglas and chose this restaurant on recommendation of our hotel. Excellent choice! We had a lovely outdoor table, cooled by several fans. The wine list was ample and the barramundi, delicious. I'd definitely go back there.

Peter L.

Yelp
Wanted to get some coral trout. Was walking past in the morning and asked if they had some, they did and said you can get a 1kg whole to share for $70. I booked for lunch and was blown away the way it was presented really different and it tasted fabulous to say the least. I am thinking I will have to come back to Port Douglas just to have it again. So so good

Ana T.

Yelp
We are traveling in Australia for 3 weeks. This is the best meal we've had in 10 days. We had tuna and spaghetti with seafood in napoli sauce. Both were excellent. Atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and food is truly amazing.

Crsie K.

Yelp
The seafood platter for two and mud crab was incredible. Best seafood we've had on the trip.

Gwenyth S.

Yelp
I love the view and the food. Not to high priced. Very easy to just stop in for lunch.

Peter T.

Yelp
The meals tonight weren't as good as previously enjoyed. The coral trout seemed like it was previously frozen as the fish was quite dry and not moist. The fish and chips meal had a very thick batter so it was like having a little bit of fish with your batter.

Tan K.

Yelp
This place came recommended, and it didn't disappoint. Fresh and tasty seafood, great customer service and atmosphere.

Lau B.

Yelp
Fresh and marvellous seafood...we had seafood platter with the mud crab.....shrimp, oyster, mud crab are excellent. We went there on other night, having the fried fish....it was so good with the sauce. If you are seafood lover...a must to go.

Benjamin C.

Yelp
This was definitely my favourite dinner in Port Douglas. The location and the food are both excellent, and the service was wonderful too. Sitting right on the water, we enjoyed the sunset with some cocktails and a beautiful sashimi platter. Dinner was the whole crab, with a beautiful garlic chilli sauce, though the whole fish served up to the table next to us looked fantastic, too. The wine list was fine, adequate, though probably on par for somewhere like Port Douglas. The mars bar sundae dessert topped it off nicely. For a great dinner on the water watching the sun set, you can't beat this place.

Hayley R.

Yelp
An excellent choice for a seafood platter on the water. A great selection of everything tasty in Queensland. We particularly loved the oysters, they were very fresh. My only negative. Something as special as this should not come with chips in my book. This place also does a great margarita, your choice of blended or original, with or without salt. Devine.

Chelsea A.

Yelp
Terrible experience, I never write reviews unless I feel like I need to inform people about a place. Waited for an hour and fifteen minutes to get our food, food was good but definitely not worth that wait.

Mark S.

Yelp
While we could not take advantage of the sights (too late to see anything) the place was top notch. We were told we had a wait of between 30 and 60 minutes and we could wait in the bar. We ordered cocktails and they excellent. No sooner had we been sipping our drinks then we were pleasantly surprised to be told we could be seated for dinner. We went with with the spectacular cold platter and were not disappointed. We were the last in the place but the service was flawless right up to the last minute. Desert was also great. Highly recommended!

Becky D.

Yelp
The seafood platter was so amazing! Loved this romantic, delicious place.

Leeanne C.

Yelp
Great place to see the fish feeding. Lovely view of the water. Don't expect great service. And a bucket of prawns is one a quarter of a bucket

matt h.

Yelp
Very good, very expensive seafood with a view. Tuna steak and trout (sea trout? who knew?). Well prepared, large portions. Good service. General note: for some crazy reason, this review will only show up on yelp.com. There are many more reviews of Port Douglas restaurants on yelp.com.au.

Emma G.

Yelp
Everything was delicious!! We had the bucket of prawns, sashimi fish and the fish and chips- all amazing! Nice wine too

robert s.

Yelp
Went there at 3 and was too early, they weren't serving yet. So I had a draft cider that was amazing. It was so cold and refreshing. Wife had a wine, the bartender let her sample a couple wines before buying which was really nice. I'd go back for the draft cider and sit on the back patio for sure.

Aggelos N.

Yelp
Holy awesomeness !!!! The quesadillas were out of the world. Spent a week in Port Douglas and the best restaurant by far !!! Cheers

Chris A.

Yelp
This is a great place to have some drinks, eat some seafood, and watch a glorious sunset. If you are visiting GBR or are in Port Douglas for any reason you must visit this place.

Pete I.

Yelp
Seafood platter for 2 - absolute freshness, a huge variety of items. The service was second to none, and the location to see the sun set whilst sipping your cocktails - it doesn't get better than this. This is a MUST for any visit to Port Douglas. Yes, it's a bit pricey but it's worth it.

Steven B.

Yelp
Nice food. Great service. Beautiful fresh seafood. Recommend this place. The seafood platter for two sounded great and very reasonable for $110 (without he crab). They were out of mud crab and mussels so we opted for a few share plates of chilled prawns and sashimi. All nicely presented and tasty. Perfect for a hot day.

Julie L.

Yelp
I was very disappointed with the service at the restaurant. I did not have a reservation and walked in hoping I could get a table for one. I was told there were no tables available even though the restaurant was half empty. I understand that some tables were most likely held up for reservations. However, I was told that I could sit in the bar area without a reservation so I did. I sat there for 10 minutes without the hostess coming back even though she had mentioned she would come back with water. No server ever came to ask if I wanted a drink (while sitting in the bar area) or a meal. When I decided to leave I told the hostess the reason why I was choosing to leave without ordering, her response? "Oh I'm so sorry about that" with the most insincere smile. All I wanted were some good fish and chips! Very disappointing considering the good reviews I had read before going to the restaurant.

Robin H.

Yelp
Great menu and great setting - feeding the fish off the front balcony is also a highlight

Michael T.

Yelp
For the money, the food should be much better. Good atmosphere and service, though. Great views.

Wall L.

Yelp
We order the platter for 2 for our dinner. The quality is not only not worthing the prices, it doesnt even seem safe to eat. The oysters were not fresh at all. We questioned the manager about the freshness of the oysters, he told us the oysters is open and ship form south Australia every morning. This explain the problem. In order to safely and enjoyablely taste the fressness of oysters, the oysters must be open shortly before consume. The bacteria in the oysters will double 15 minute after opening, which it will not consider fresh and clean after the time period. According to the manager, the oysters is opened in south Australia before arriving the restaurent every mornings, which at least 10 hour has passed before it is served on the table for dinner. It is not safe to eat at all, and there is no taste of freshness in the oysters. The other seafood isn't any great as well. It has no better quality than the one you can buy in supermarket next street for probably one-forth of the prices. And the dish is filled with flys and mosquito after 10 mintues of serving. This left us no appetite to finish the platter. We leave the restaurent and unwilling left many of the food behind due to safety concern. The meal is undoubtedly the most disappointing meal of the year, and a quite priceful lesson at well........

SeaChi N.

Yelp
Came here on holiday and based on recommendations. No matter where you sit, views are amazing. Had the bread with dukkah and oil, mud crab, and fish special. Came a second time for the bread, prawns, and chicken rendang. Did not disappoint. Price is relatively the same vs others in Port Douglas so it comes down to location, service, and food which on the inlet did not disappoint. Came the first time to see the giant grouper, good for kids to see but it's just a giant fish?!?

Leah P.

Yelp
Gorgeous view dining over the water, looking at the tropical isles. Full marks for my dish of tuna with celeriac and ponzu sauce. We gave the spanish paella 9/10 and the kids enjoyed their meals too. Staff were friendly.
