A backpackers / hostel type of accommodation. Clean and well presented. Ample showers and toilets. Power went off once for about half an hour and some noise from the common area into the room but otherwise was quiet and peaceful. Got myself and my partner out of a pinch and are grateful. Would stay here again.

Don’t be fooled by the eco-lodge branding or the nice garden — this place is a health hazard. When I first arrived, the outdoor area looked promising, and I was keen for a relaxing stay. That quickly changed once I saw the state of the rooms. The ceilings are absolutely filthy — covered in mould, water stains, and clear signs of long-term neglect. Every room I went into had visible black patches and damp damage. It’s not just gross, it’s dangerous. Breathing that in overnight is a serious risk, especially for kids, asthmatics, or anyone with allergies. To top it off, they refused to let me park my boat up the driveway, claiming it was a health and safety issue. What a joke — mould-infested ceilings above bunk beds are apparently fine, but a parked boat is where they draw the line? This place needs a full professional clean, a health inspection, and a serious attitude adjustment. Until then, avoid it. False advertising and unsafe conditions — plain and simple.

On the Wallaby Eco Lodge was such a hidden gem! I only stayed for one night, but I would’ve loved to stay longer. The lodge has a warm, welcoming, and homey vibe that instantly makes you feel comfortable. There are lots of cozy social spaces to relax and connect with other travelers. I stayed in the 6-bed dorm and was genuinely surprised by how comfy the beds were! The showers and kitchen were super clean and well maintained, and the staff were incredibly kind and friendly. Highly recommend this place for anyone exploring the area!

The Wallaby offers great value for money. It really does feel like a home away from home. Veronica and Bella are wonderful hosts. If you’re keen to support a local family owned businesses with a green ethos and a big heart, this place is for you. Easy stroll to the wonderful Yungaburra markets each month.

Veronica runs the place to Immaculate standard. The rooms and all facilities were in perfect condition and they treated us like their family. She made us dinner, the mash steak and sausages were delicious. I've never felt so at home away from home.

Loved our stay here when visiting with uncle Brian’s tours. Lovely family feel and nice and peaceful. Lots of social areas indoors and out. Clean and functional bathrooms. Dorm rooms slightly small but very comfortable bed, fan provided. Really helpful staff that go above and beyond! Would recommend!

Perfect✔️ An awesome base for 5 nights exploring the Atherton Tablelands. Thanks to the many tips from the friendly staff here me and my 11yo were able to see platypus, tree frogs, cassowaries and even a tree kangaroo, amongst other wildlife on our visit. Even a local tree frog outside our room - a win! The properly is super homey, very clean and really well run - highly recommended for a family trip, especially as the backyard and hammocks are lovely for kids. We will be back!

I really loved my two nights here. The location is fantastic, just a short stroll to Foodworks or various cafe's and restaurants. I originally booked a twin room with shared bathroom and was upgraded to a little bungalow with a double bed and outdoor shower. It was perfect and I absolutely love an outdoor shower (nice hot water). Unlike other people I was traveling by bicycle, which means I'm a bit picky regarding keeping my bike undercover etc. There's a really nice and secure courtyard out the back and I was able to easily cycle all the way to my little bungalow. Kitchen facilities are also very functional and everything is super clean. I'll definitely return.

Yelp
It's a lodge, not a hostel. That's what the team will tell you here, and it's absolutely true. Cleanest bathrooms and bedrooms I've had for a hostel. The team is very nice and accessible. Tucked in a nice little neighborhood. Good time.
