Beside the beautiful sea view, the room is terrible. Very old, drawers hardly open and don't close properly, very old cutlery, no soap on the bathroom, there is a hole in the bed sheets, a gas pipe in the kitchen (don't think this is safe). Ask for a renovated room if you have to stay here otherwise don't.

You are paying only for the seaside view. The building and rooms are old, you are lucky if you get a flat that has good working air conditioning. Extra towels or bedsheets are not available, you have to try to talk to the landlord if you have any issues, because nothing is solved at the reception. It’s too expensive for the kind of service they offer (I am Brazilian, maybe foreigners think it’s cheap).

On November 24th I called this place and they said they had rooms available. It was late at night, so I didn’t want to hear walking around. Upon arrival the man in the reception tells me that he “thinks” he has room available and they’re around 350-400, and he “can’t remember” I tell him that I was tired and it’s late, so that was fine. Next he tells me he only accepted Pix. That’s when I knew he was trying to scam me. Any hotel on the beach front will accept credit card, he wanted to take my money. Please do not waste your time there until that man is no longer there.

Ondinha Apart hotel - Oh my word, where to begin. To call it dated would be an understatement, from the threadbare towels and bedsheets to the literal hole to the outside world by our non-functioning air conditioner. The room was filthy, with a child's drawings on the wall and stained pillows and sheets. When we complained about the again, HOLE IN THE WALL (we were on the sixth floor) and lack of air-conditioning, the staff fobbed us off onto some customer service number. When we rang them, they told us to cancel the reservation if we didn't like it, losing what we had already paid. Thankfully, Booking.com managed to get them to give us a full refund and we rebooked elsewhere. We received a call within 10 minutes of this from the front desk demanding we check out of the room immediately. I'm not one to write reviews, but this was spectacularly awful.

Great breakfasts, great value for money, and great uninterrupted sea views from the restaurant and pool deck. Very friendly staff. Spacious apartments. Rather noisy aircon. Good location between town centre and Rio Vermelho (try the fish market for great local eating). Easy access to buses and taxis. A bit far from any food shops.

I attended a conference in Salvador for five days (it was held at the Bahia Othon Palace next door) in July 2006. I brought my family along, and was glad to have stayed at this less-expensive, perfectly serviceable alternative. ||The hotel has a good breakfast buffet that comes with the room, a (not-heated, but you're in Brazil) pool, and it's right on the ocean, with a beach adjacent. Our room turned out, unexpectedly, to be a spacious suite -- it is an ApartHotel after all, I suppose -- with a kitchen and two bedrooms. Furnishings were spare but comfortable.||The staff was competent and well-intentioned, but no English is spoken, and they do not have the concierge services you would expect from a place that rates more stars. The little Portuguese we learned to supplement "pretty good" Spanish was helpful. (They could explain where to find a grocery store, but when Varig cancelled our flights home, they could not really advise us in any way we could understand.)||Note that this hotel is in Ondina with a slew of other beach hotels. You are not in the middle of things. This is not a charming little hotel in the historic district; that's a cab ride away. (They can be found on the Internet, but not on tripadvisor. It's an adventure! We recommend both.) Buses do go right in front of this hotel -- even to the airport -- but unless you have a lot of time, expect to pay US$10 or more for a cab when you want to go somewhere other than this beach.|

We stayied at Ondina Aparthotel for four days - I was attending a conference on Othon Palace, next door, and brought my family to enjoy a bit of Salvador. Ondina Aparthotel is far from be a luxury hotel, but it´s quite comfortable. Reserving through internet, we got a 2-room apartment with two bathrooms, living room and kitchen by R$ 225 = US$ 130 / day (four people occupancy with breakfast included) - a good deal, considering the supposedly discounted prices for conference attendees at neighbooring Othon.||||The rooms were large, with good illumination and ventilation; both had air conditioning, as well as the living room (which is a must in Salvador). Altough comfortable and well kept, the apartment could receive some renovation: the decoration and furniture is a bit old. Also, we found our apartment a bit noisy since it was facing the avenue (ocean-facing apartments certainly are quieter, and the view should be amazing; but they charge ca. 25 % more for them and we did not think it would be worth the extra expense).||||Buffet breakfast was excellent: a good assortment of fresh fruit, breads, cold and hot beverages. Also, they can prepare omelets and tapioca (a local crepe made from cassava starch) on custom demand.||||Although the beach can be reached directly from hotel, it´s better enjoy the hotel´s pool: the beach is a bit dirty, rocky and crowded on weekends. Alas, the pool bar opens from 8AM to 5PM, but their choice of beverages is somehow limited (we enjoyed a delicious cashew "caipirinha", though). As for other attractions, the Barra region is within walking distance - for people with good legs, at least... To visit the old Pelourinho district, a ~R$20 - 25 (US$ 11 to 14) taxi ride is necessary.||||The hotel also dubs as residential building and as a mini-shopping mall: there are some stores In the street floor, as well as a decent pay-as-you-eat buffet restaurant (much better and cheaper than the hotel´s restaurant properly), a cafe, a car rental office and some clothing stores. Outside the hotel, there is a snack hut for those brave enough to take the risk - my wife enjoyied a huge hamburger with sidings, and she´s still alive...||||Employees were consistently corteous and polite; for example, the concierge man extended our check out time for three hours, to let us have some time to rest before going back to airport.||||I´d say that its an OK hotel: good price, good service, reasonably comfortable... a solid 3 1/2 "green balls", if this would be possible.

We stayed from june 28th to july 1st 2016. Old room. The installations of hotel are old. The two AC are old and noisy, and they do not clean. The freezer of the fridge was broken and we lost 1 kg of shrimps and fish. The kitchen and cockpit is ok, but only one cockpit was working. Breakfast is ok serving good tapiocas, fruits, cakes, cooked roots, eggs, sausages. The sea view of the room, swimming pool area and breakfast room is nice. The sauna was abandoned. It is a well placed hotel near beaches, touristic attractions, bus stops and it is in a safe area. But this hotel needs a change.
