One Marine Drive Boutique Hotel

Couldn’t fault the staff for the warm welcome we received. We stayed in a suite on the second/top floor and were surprised that there was no lift. We were awoken early by birds making a lot of noise on the roof above us. The spa pool is outdoors and not heated but they’re working on that. |Breakfast was excellent, complimentary cake of the day was delicious too. |The hotel is part of the Living Journey Collection Boutique Hotels. As a thank you they make a donation in your name to their Education Program called ‘Ease the journey’ This supports under privileged children by providing them with stationery etc.

I had the pleasure of staying at One Marine Drive in Hermanus, a five-star hotel that’s part of the Living Journey Collection. This stunning coastal retreat offers uninterrupted ocean views right from the room—truly breathtaking. The staff were exceptional, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The hotel strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and classic hospitality, with thoughtful touches throughout. The property features two inviting pools and a charming restaurant that serves a delicious breakfast and a light day menu for casual bites. There’s also a well-stocked bar and several cozy lounge areas ideal for relaxing. I can’t recommend this incredible place enough. It would make an especially perfect stay during whale season when Hermanus comes alive with marine activity. Or just perfect if you are a lover of the ocean like I. Enjoy this one!

Lovely guest house with amazing staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautifully furnished and decorated. Lovely outside pool area.

Wonderful hotels close to the main area, this hotel had great facilities and hearty breakfast to start you day off right. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with nothing too much trouble. They even gave us a choice of 3 rooms upon our arrival, two were upgrades at no additional cost.

We stayed here on one leg of our Cape Town holiday. Absolutely beautiful hotel. Clean rooms with lovely bedding and pillows. The staff were so lovely and helpful. It has secure gated parking with 24 hour access. Excellent spa treatments too. Every day the chef bakes a cake which is free with coffee to enjoy. The breakfast was also delicious. We have booked again to end our holiday there before flying back to the UK.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon and wish we stayed longer. The accommodations are clean, the food is delicious and the staff are incredible. Thank you for your hospitality. We look forward to our return.

We stayed for 3 nights recently in One Marine drive and although we enjoyed our stay I have to admit I was a bit disappointed by the “5 star” rating vs what we got. The positives are the location is brilliant, and the staff were super helpful and friendly. We had a beautiful sea view room for two nights which we loved!! Our first night we had a partial sea view room which was very average. The balcony looked into someone’s back yard and the shower faces into the bedroom which I found a little odd as the glass was not frosted. I would not book this room again. Breakfast was fine, good selection but not blown away. We passed on getting breakfast two mornings. The pool area was very nice, although I felt the actual pool was a bit grubby. Overall a nice stay but feels very average vs what’s advertised online. I read that it recently got taken over by new ownership so I’m assuming this is the reason. Definitely not a 5 star establishment in my opinion!

This is the second time we have stayed here. Room 9 is our room of choice. The views are great and I could sit on the balcony for hours. The standard of accommodation as you’d expect from Living Journeys is very high and they have a secure parking area if that is important for you.||They have added another swimming pool which was a welcome addition since we were last there. ||The quality of the staff though is exceptional. It was very high wherever we stayed but the guys at OMD were a real credit to the organisation.
