I stayed here for a month back in August during my time as a volunteer at a local English school. My room was well-lit, clean (except for the occasional mosquitoes that somehow made their way into the bathroom), and comfortable. The food quality depended on the day; once the salmon was rather old and stinky (but the issue was kindly taken up by one of the event staff). Otherwise, the amenities like the pools and common areas were outstanding and I felt like I was in a vibrant and modern outdoor-hotel setting.
But let me tell you, by far the best part of my experience at Onederz was the staff who were all superbly helpful, professional, personable, and engaging, not to mention also strong in English. I had to stop myself many times from having too long a conversation with the friends I made during their shift! There were also a variety of staff-led tours provided and the tour leaders all helped me get acquainted with Khmer language, cuisine, history, and culture. I give the kindness, hospitality, and friendship of the staff much credit in encouraging me to become an English teacher in Cambodia. So, a big shoutout to Mo, Kanha, Sinath, Sreylen, Samoeun, Karona, Dara, Nita, Chandara, and all the others for welcoming me to Cambodia. You guys are the best!!! 😊
