The third wave coffee in Tokyo is incredible. A favorite spot was Onibus, a supremely delicous coffee shop in Naka-Meguro. It does double duty as a roaster—peep the 15-kilo-capacity Diedrich behind the till—and I loved sipping pour over iced coffee (because I am a monster) on the outdoor patio.

I tried the coffee beans from Rwanda and it was great. I like how peaceful the surrounding neighborhood is. The view from the second floor looks great too as trains pass by while I drink my cup of coffee. There was long line though so I opted to go back at 11am and no one was literally lining up and then by 12noon, people started queuing up in the store. I was lucky to enjoy the view of the trains for an hour.

I tried their coffee of the day and it was amazing. Paired with the banana cake and espresso butter, it was mind-blowing. The place is small, but the calming ambiance made it perfect. It truly made my last day in Japan feel complete.

They have various beans for latte & drip coffee. Baristas can speak English, and can recommend the best beans based on our preference. However, place is not that spacious yet it's very quiet and lovely as it's located near the neighborhood and near park. We also tried the banana bread and it really tasted like banana (lol)

I came here around 4/5PM and it wasn’t as crowded as I expected ! The outdoor seating is lovely with lots of plants around and the upstairs room is really cozy with places that offers nice view of the train tracks. I expected to be annoyed by the noise of the trains but it was actually okay; they had a really good playlist playing in the background that I enjoyed a lot while drinking ! I don’t know a lot about coffee but they had so many different options so If you’re a big fans you should definitely go there ! I took an iced latte and I liked it, ありがとうございます

I've always seen this place online so I was really excited to finally come here. The upstairs room is nice, the trains really aren't as loud as I had anticipated. I just wish there was some quiet music playing because it felt a bit too intimate. I got the squash espresso drink but didn't taste much of the squash. It was really an espresso tonic. But my first time drinking so it was fun. It definitely grew on you. I think the seating on the first floor would be my favorite for a non rainy non humid day. There is no restroom but there is one in the park next door.

Went with a friend on a Wednesday around 1PM, thankfully it wasn’t busy at all when we ordered. However, as we were ordering, a small line started to form behind us. We were able to get the seat with the view of the train which was great. Coffee was nice, banana bread was also nice. I can’t remember the pricing, but I think it was worth it for the view and atmosphere. Cafe was super cute and would definitely recommend going if you can, but not something I would wait in line for. Better if you’re alone or with one other person, not a place for big groups.

Iced americano was too acidic and didn't really taste like coffee. As for the ambience, the cafe is surrounded by trees and right by the train tracks; offering a view from the upper level. That said, the space upstairs could use some refurbishment as it feels a little musty and run-down.

Some of the best coffee we've had in Japan during our 3 week travels. Well extracted espresso. Friendly staff, chilled out vibes along the train line. 10/10.

Yelp
Lovely coffee shop! They have both upstairs and downstairs seating. If you sit upstairs you can watch the trains go by as you enjoy your coffee. I ordered a latte which was not too sweet and my husband ordered a drip coffee which he enjoyed. Service was friendly, drinks didn't take too long to come out. Also looks like this place gets frequented by foreigners because 90% of the people there were speaking English.

Yelp
A beautiful little coffee stand with some outside seating right next to the train track. It's a great vibe with the street in front of you and the sound of the trains from above. The menu is very simple with nothing other than basic drip coffee and espresso; no flavorings at all. That being said, the lattes are fantastic and the coffee and milk are very smooth. A wonderful spot - I can understand why it is so highly recommended!

Yelp
Anytime you search up local coffee roasters, one that always seems to pop up is Onibus Coffee. It was a bit out of the way for me, but boy was it worth it. First lets talk coffee. I ordered pour over Columbian. It was solid, good flavor, hit the spot. Picked up a bag of beans (review coming up) Second the hours. Its one of the spot that is open nice and early. Lots of seating (but half of it is outdoors, so rain or snow, you maybe limited). Third, and probably outshining the good coffee, is the view. Head upstairs to find a small seating area that overlooks the trains that pass through. With great music, good coffee, it was certainly an amazing experience. Overall Kel rating: /5 The good: Combination of good coffee, amazing seating area, great customer service (they gave me a breakdown of where they source their beans) The decent: seating can be very limited upstairs. The ugly: Can be on the pricier end of coffee.

Yelp
I went to the iconic train cafe! The drinks were pretty good - I got an oat latte, not badly priced. The coffee was almost sweet?? I'm not sure if it's just the oat milk but it was a yummy drink. I waited around 15min and finally got the iconic spot. It was cool to see how close the trains were. It's a very small store so I recommend going in the weekdays around 12pm! It's not a spot where you can spend hours, simple just to drink your coffee.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee shop in a very cute neighborhood. Serving on a Marzocco Linea. Perfect temperature, nice smooth texture. Lovely art, and great people! Don't miss it.

Yelp
Onibus is the one coffee shop I knew I needed to get too. It however was not always near by. I finally made it to this location for an afternoon latte pick me up. Although, the weather was warm when I'm first ever trying a coffee shop I generally order a hot drink because it takes so much more care then pouring espresso over ice and milk. I enjoyed it, but as with most coffee shops I had to drink cows milk which I haven't had in YEARS so that was tough for me. I really, never ever drink this sort of milk. I'd like to think it was a non fat or low fat option as it wasn't super creamy and my latte was still enjoyable. I'd say it's safe to say Onibus draws a certain crowd. I got that hip vibe while looking at the clientele here which I didn't mind one bit. They were also perfectly located beside a little park that had the most beautiful cherry blossom blooms so that was a definite plus. I'd love to see places offer oat milk or even almond milk, some folks don't drink cows milk or consume soy so I've gotta bump a star off for that reason, otherwise service and product is nice.

Yelp
Onibus Coffee Nakameguro is an adorable place for coffee and their step coffee was delicious. We also love the design on their cup, it is colorful and lighted up our day.

Yelp
Cute little coffe stand perfect for the hipster that frowns upon commercialized coffee shops. Good coffee, better than Starbucks. Close to the Meguro River where the Cherry blossoms are in full bloom. I suggest getting your coffee fix here if you are planning on going to the world's largest Starbucks reserve roastery up the street as there was a three hour wait there.

Yelp
Stopped by this adorable little stand for the perfect latte. I thought the coffee was super-smooth, and one of the few times I didn't add a touch of sugar. (Any hint of bitter or sour and I need to combat it with sugar.) The staff was incredibly friendly, and you could see them roasting beans in the back. There are some benches with outdoor seating, or a small park next door. It's just a short walk from Nakameguro station.

Yelp
We ordered the standard drip coffee of the day and it was honestly alright. Not something to blow us out of the water but it has the third wave coffee taste - it's sour and light but refreshing. Not a huge fan but the location and aesthetics of this adorable place makes it worth a short trip.

Yelp
How cool is this spot! Not only is it super photogenic but the coffee is fantastic! Our espresso was served in kintsugi cups which made these tourists swoon. Would highly recommend when in Tokyo!

Yelp
A little disappointed in this hipster coffee joint. The latte was way too milky! Barely has any coffee taste. However the pour overs were pretty tasty, we tried the Honduras beans that has a hint of honey flavor. As for the decor and look & feel of the coffee shop, it's super picturesque and on a nice day you can sit in the outdoor area next to the coffee shop and people watch. We really liked the design of the store.
