It was my first time hiking at the State Park with a guide through kenco outfitters what a wonderful time. Beautiful lake Nice place for a nice easy relaxing hike

So much poison ivy it's unavoidable, lucky we aren't down south or the abundant docile eastern water snakes would be gotten mouths and there'd be a bunch of dead citiots Floating in the lake.

Excellent loop trail! Terrain varries, doesn't get boring.

Hiking, biking, camping, boating and swimming, all just minutes from Kingston NY. In the midst of an abandoned bluestone quarrying operation. No lifeguards but a safe swimming spot that's rarely crowded and close to parking area.

We go from Maryland to this lake in NY yearly. It is not crowded and you need to carry in your kayak from the parking lot and launch from the shore. The lake has giant blue gills, bass, and HUGE crappies.

Large lake ..I tested one spot and it was over 20 feet deep...it is wide and nice to roam around and soak in...it is mostly still water so protect your ears...but it is a gem of a natural location

Yelp
When you get there, you can drive on the gravel road until it dead-ends into a parking lot with a porta potty. If that lot is full then you can park in the one that's right off route 28. The trail is nicely shaded. We saw orange newts galore. It had just rained the night before so it was a little muddy in spots. We hiked the yellow loop trail and it was perfect for kids ranging in ages 7 to 13. Very scenic. We left in the early afternoon when the sun came out. Many others were just getting there to swim in the lake.

Yelp
a favorite local spot, especially in the summer! Easy hiking trails aroung the lake and through the woods- even to an old abandone car that's now overgrown with nature! great spot to fish, kayak and swim and is dog-friendly! just look out for poison ivy!
