Onto Coffee

Onto Coffee just opened their brick-and-mortar in the Belmar Shopping District, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite spots. The drinks are amazing — the iced ube latte and the black sesame matcha latte were standouts, and I loved the coconut water with ube cream. For food, the spicy chicken katsu sando and ube strawberry sando were both fantastic, and the mayo tuna onigiri hit the spot. They’re also partnering with Black Box Bakery now, which means you can grab classic pastries like their strawberry croissant to go with your coffee. On top of all that, the owners Jessie and Jason are wonderful people who make the whole experience feel welcoming and genuine. You really can’t go wrong here. Highly recommend checking them out!

Lovely shop that’s bright and welcoming. A little cold in temp and echoey, but felt minimalist and clean. I loved the personal touches of decor and merch. I got an egg Sando, onigiri, and an Ube matcha latte. Egg sando was reminiscent of Japan, but slightly missed the mark. The bread was different and the egg salad was slightly less jammy than the original, but still wonderful and scratched the itch. Onigiri was fun and well done! Ube Matcha was decicious and topped with an Ube Foam. Would order again. The person behind the register was also lovely and kind, even gave my dog a free pup cup! Overall great experience.

Very good coffee shop. Delicious coffee. Very smooth. After going here I don't think we'll bother with the other places locally. Their sandwiches are also top notch and freshly made. So far we've tried egg, egg w/Spam, and Szechuan chicken. They were all very good. It would be great if they added some gluten free options. Also their Hot Chocolate could do with a bit more dark chocolate (but that could be just me).

I finally made it! I’ve been waiting for this moment for forever and even though opening weekend didn’t work for me (I didn’t time manage well and had to leave the line 😭), I drove myself back to Lakewood to visit! Ube matcha latte with oat milk: 9/10 Ube strawberry Sando: 9/10 Strawberry croissant: 8/10 Black sesame latte: 9/10 At a festival I tried the tuna mayo onigiri: 8/10 Everything was delicious, the place was open and bright and a fun place to take a break in! It is busy so seating can be limited (we got lucky someone was leaving when we arrived)! And they were so quick with the orders! It was actually pretty unreal because everything tasted so good!

I love this place. The black sesame latte is excellent—rich with the nutty aroma of ground black sesame up front, followed by smooth notes of coffee. The flavors blend seamlessly. The chicken katsu sando is also a standout. The fried chicken is juicy, crisp, but not greasy at all. The staff are friendly, and the shop was spotless. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed their matcha! The Szechuan chicken sando was tasty but the egg salad one wasn’t my favorite. The mayo (and mustard?) sauce had a strange taste to it. We will definitely be back to try their other coffees though!

Wow! What a fun treats so many amazing options to try. Nyte the person at the front was amazing and so patient with me why I tried to decide what awesome thing to try and had so awesome suggestions. I got the ube matcha which was so flavorful but not too sweet. I also got the chili tofu sando which brought so much joy to my day. I will def be back!! :)

Adorable shop with such nice owners! I went on opening day and LOVED the chicken katsu sando, but was underwhelmed by the vienna coffee. I have come back a couple times for the sando and today decided to try their coffee again. The halloween special marshmallow white mocha was super cute and tasted really good too! I would definitely give their coffee another shot if you had it on opening day and didn’t really like it. I love this addition to Belmar and I will be back many times!
