This is an amazing Japanese-style hotel located in Asakusa. First, guests can experience a traditional Japanese tatami-style hotel. Every time you enter the hotel, you are required to remove your shoes and walk on tatami flooring, which is completely different from a typical Western-style hotel. Second, if you stay on a higher floor, you can enjoy views of both Senso-ji Temple and Tokyo Skytree. The scenery is beautiful during the day as well as at night, each offering its own unique charm. The location is also excellent—only a 5 to 10-minute walk to Senso-ji Temple and about a 15-minute walk to Asakusa Station. In addition, the hotel facilities are fantastic. Breakfast offers an all-you-can-eat Japanese-style salmon roe and tuna rice bowl, allowing guests to serve themselves as much as they like. On the first basement floor, there is a large public bath where you can experience a traditional Japanese onsen. The unique black hot spring water is perfect for relaxing after a full day of sightseeing. After bathing, guests can enjoy complimentary ice cream in the evening or Yakult in the morning. There is also free ramen served every night at 9:30 PM. I stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful experience. I would definitely choose to stay here again the next time I visit Asakusa.

After over 14 hours of travel this was the perfect place to land. The only downside was lack of hotel transportation to the train/bus and the check in process was long and difficult due to their inability to easily find our reservation. The area has plenty to enjoy to include: museums, historical sights, restaurants and shopping. The hotel could improve with clear instructions on how to arrive from the airport. The hotel itself was tranquil and quiet. The breakfast was delicious, however a bit pricey. The Osun was amazing.

Perfectly situated in the heart of Asakusa to all the hotspots, approx 10 min walk from the main train stations. Received amazing and attentive service at every step! Free luggage storage on day of check in/out was very handy. Breakfast is a must try and would recommend waking up earlier around 0630 to beat the crowd. Gender separate onsen/sauna/baths were a great way to unwind after being on your feet all day. Room was clean however little small to be opening luggages (standard double). Highly recommend overall!

Very similar to Dormy except a little bit more Japanese style (you can't wear your shoes anywhere in the hotel, rooms have tatami). However, I prefer Dormy. Having to take out your shoes every time you enter the hotel and keep track of a key is a hassle. This will probably be the last time I stay here. Staff are okay but not super nice. Maybe because they get so many tourists. Breakfast was so so quality and long wait. Location moght be good for some but a little too raucous and touristy for me. Folks who love this place probably have not stayed at many Japanese hotels.

Located near the center of Nara, Dormy Hotel was the perfect place to dip my toes into the Japanese experience. All rooms present a very calm atmosphere with neutral colors and natural woods. Plenty of room types are available, all for a very fair price for what amenities are provided, and all are cared for and maintained very well. Western guests will find a somewhat familiar but also different experience while enjoying on-site Onsens, an excellent cafe for breakfast, a high level of service, and most amenities you are used to in the West.

Loved staying at this hotel so much. It is super clean and a peaceful stay in a quiet, safe location. The whole hotel is covered in tatami mats including the elevator, which I really liked. Lots of washers/dryers available to use. Bonus was the free late night noodles and free ice cream any time. The public bath is not tattoo friendly, so I wasn’t able to use it during my stay, but I was already aware of the policy stated on the website so it wasn’t a problem (You can use tattoo covers if you’re able). Lots of food options and things to see right outside the door, shopping streets around the corner. Very close to the beautiful Sensō-ji Temple. not the closest to the asakusa subway stations (12-15 min to walk), there is one express subway close by and some bus stops. I would definitely recommend staying at this lovely hotel and would come back again.

First it's located in the beautiful area of the Asakusa shrine, next to small nice alleys with small shops and food places. Second it's built in a warming traditional way, with tatami floors all over the hotel, so you have to take your shoes off when you enter. The rooms are a little small but have everything you need for a pleasant stay. We missed the onsen although we got recommendations

I am so bummed to be writing this review. :( My friends and I decided to take a trip to Japan together for the first time. Onyado Nono Asakusa was our first of three hotels. It was by far our favorite of the three we stayed. The place was centrally located. The rooms were beautiful. The staff was very friendly. The problem is that while we were out during the day someone went into my room and stole a present that was purchased from the Don Quijote right down the road. Silly me I assumed that my room was safe to leave my belongings. I was wrong. I left a Monster Hunter Gore Magala creator's Figure (¥15,000) in the bag that I had purchased it at the end of the bed on the floor. The label was clearly visible for only that one day. When I came back that evening, my room was cleaned and I had new towels. The bag was still on the floor. Nothing to arouse suspicion. We were leaving the next day and we decided to have our souvenirs and presents shipped to the second hotel. So to pack everything up I put the statue in another bag and taped it up thoroughly. That's where it stayed until Thursday night in our third hotel. By this time I had accumulated a bunch of cool things from my journey across Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. I got way more than I could possibly bring home. So I decided to ship everything from the Post office. Before doing so I went through everything to take pictures of the inventory and prepare it all in bubblewrap. That's when I found my box still fully taped and wrapped. However, after removing the temporary coverings, the box was now broken and empty. Two things I would have never noticed since it was put back into the original bag and I taped it all up the day after it was left alone and unattended. There was no way it was done in transit through the delivery service. It was the single item I had initially purchased and was the only item left out in the room. It's not about the cost of the item... it can be replaced. It's about the fact that a hotel where we had such a great time, will forever have a tarnished memory because someone went into our private living space and stole something from one of their guests. That really sucks. Again we loved the hotel itself, but this is deserving of my first ever negative review. BEWARE! Do NOT leave anything of value out in the open. :( I have pictures and will post them in reviews that allow it.
