A very nice property, set across tranquil grounds and golf club. Very relaxed environment and walks around, and a mere 10 minute Uber into the centre of Cascais.
Staff are friendly and helpful but for me it falls short on several things to make it a true 5 star experience.
Spa
It is a 5 euro charge to use the facility’s which include sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and indoor heated pool. There is also an outdoor pool. Frustratingly, between the hours of 9-11 and 3-5, kids are allowed in which makes it a very un relaxing experience. I have no problem with the reasonable surcharge to use the facilities, but when the facilities are crowded with screaming kids, it becomes unreasonable.
Gym
If you like going to the gym on vacation, consider buying a week pass somewhere else. This cramped room, with no air con has the capacity of 2/3 people. 2x treadmills, 2x bikes, 1 bench and free weights up to 20kg. A fine gym to have stretch etc., but not what you would expect in a 5 star resort.
Breakfast
Once again, staff very friendly and helpful. But the food on offer is poor. I have stayed in 3 star hotels with a better selection.
In summary, a nice hotel and would stay here again if the price is right. But beware for future guests, some aspects fall well short of 5 star facilities.
