Google
Stopped by 131 Main in Blakney yesterday but there was a 50 minute wait, so on my way out I saw - “Open Rice” and thought, why not? What a great place! Really good, basic Chinese food, large portions, great price. I took the recommendations of my server and she was spot on with everything. I loved the fried golden buns, it was not sweet at all, even dipping it in the condensed milk? Small bites. It was a creamy, not sugary sweet taste. She said people often aid it at the beginning as well as the end. I really enjoyed it just to taste at the start! The fried chicken dumplings? Excellent flavor and fresh. Almost got the sliced pork (aka Hong Kong Char Siu) but opted for the cast-iron skillet, chicken fried rice and the pineapple fried rice which had shrimp and chicken in it as well. Excellent dishes, fresh ingredients. The shrimp, the chicken were perfect, not dried out, very tender. I personally loved the turmeric in the pineapple fried rice, and the presentation was really cool as well. I did ask for Yum Yum sauce to kick the flavor up a notch and a little bit of soy. The dishes are not heavy on salt or spices but for me? I enjoy that because I would rather add the flavor on my own. Can I just say that of the two, even though the pineapple fried rice was great, oh my God - that skillet fried rice had cheese melted over the top! Yes, you heard me right - cheese! And it was set on top of a very thin layer of egg. It just really did it for me and again the flavors, you could taste the proteins and the fresh vegetables nothing was overpowering. Really looking forward to going back and trying the sliced pork and the spring rolls. Staff was excellent very responsive. Food came out quickly. The place was clean. Very busy by the way, so kind of loud but it’s OK. I was there for the food and I will definitely be back.

Google
Our new favorite restaurant! What a gem! We went for the first time today with our three small kids and everyone loved their food. Everything was delicious, fresh, and hot. The ice creams are amazing! Also, the food came out SO quickly which we really appreciate having small kids. Our server was so kind and constantly checked on us - we 10/10 recommend this place and we will definitely be back!

Google
This is a very unique and delicious Chinese restaurant with excellent service. We had the buns with condensed milk as an appetizer then we had the cast iron chicken fried rice which comes in an enormous skillet with rice eggs vegetables and chicken and was also tasty. We will be back to try what I am sure will be their other delicious dishes! Update: We have already been there twice and had a Tiger Milk Caramel with Boba. It was delicious!

If you want really good Chinese food, definitely try this place out. The food was absolutely delicious! The service was great as well. Everything item we ordered was 5 stars!

Google
I love this restaurant. It’s a chinese, with a great food, service and decoration. The price is fair and the food comes really fast. I highly recommend their eggplant, it was phenomenal.

Google
We had a great experience indulging in the flavors of Asia. Their cast iron chicken fried rice was yummy and tasty. Golden buns were sweet and tasty. The most liked item was their bubble waffle with chocolate icecream. Customer service was great. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. I will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Google
A different take on asian dishes! Right from the start , our server greeted us warmly and got seated! Ordered a few things; Kimchi rice with chicken that came in a cast iron it was delicious For apps: we tried fried tofu and a dish with eggplant which was truly amazing! Overall a good place with decent flavors.

Yelp
It was my first time hearing about and visiting this establishment. We were greeted in a very professional manner. The restaurant's decor was plain, but overall, it had a pleasant atmosphere. Our server, named Chelsea, came to the table and took our orders. She was so pleasant and professional. She didn't make you feel like you were just a number, but she was very engaging, and I appreciated that about her. We ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Meat & Shrimp Fried Rice with extra crab meat and extra shrimp. We also ordered the Spicy Stir-Fry Udon, which consisted of beef, onions, scallions, and broccoli. We ordered the mixed vegetables as well. The fried rice entree wasn't what I was accustomed to seeing it look like. It wasn't as savory as I'm used to, so I definitely added soy sauce to it. The Udon dish was okay, but it's not something that I would order again. The mixed vegetables were delicious. I wasn't really overwhelmed with the food in a good way, but I would like to go back and try other items on the menu because the food wasn't bad, but just different. Give them a try.

Yelp
This is one of those places you appreciate more the more you go. By now, this has become one of my favorite Asian restaurants. Truly, I don't think I've had anything that was bad, let alone mediocre here. The foods here are stellar...and true to their name, their rice dishes are amazing. I've had this Cast Iron Kimchi Fried Rice twice by now, and it's truly awesome...especially so given it's not the authenticly Korean Bulgogi Kimchi Fried Rice. The meat in this dish is minced pork-pork belly, over a thin bed of egg...but it's absolutely decadent! Also, it's a HUGE portion...the picture doesn't do justice to how generous the portion is (possibly because the skillet is so big). It's slightly spicy...but I wish it was slightly spicier. Still, it's one of the best rice dishes I've had in Charlotte. If anyone has a rice craving, this should be the place to go.

Yelp
O.M. Goodness! It might be better than this but I don't see how. I had been to the Open Rice @ Metropolitan in Uptown CLT for Dim Sum and it was really very good. I wanted to try this place which is actually much closer to my house and easier to get to rather than negotiate all the construction in Uptown CLT. I studied the reviews and at 4.5 starts with 536 reviews it's a good indication it's better than just good. I wasn't disappointed! I had the Hong Kong Pork Char Siu with a side of fried rice. Each bite was better than the one before. It's served over a bed of bok choy. So well prepared with quality ingredients, fresh and delicious. The portion was huge & I had to get a 'go box'. I had outstanding service from Colleen. She knew the menu well and was able to answer all my questions. She was attentive and continued to check on me from time to time. I especially like their 'team' aspect to service. As other servers come by, they take an empty plate and ask if there is anything else they can get you. I'm so pleased to be able to tell my family and friends about this place and give it an enthusiastic recommendation. Sadly, they don't do Dim Sim like the Metropolitan location but their menu is broad and creative. Nearly EVERY Elite review I read was a five star review, what does that tell you? I read many comments that it was pricey. Yes and you get what you pay for and in this case it's worth every penny!

Yelp
Take out was quick and efficient. Food was good but not great. They have another branch near Novant Main Hospital that is much better. Also they have Din Sun. Definitely the better choice of the two.

Yelp
Wow this place was delicious. I enjoyed the homemade chilli oil. I ate it with everything. The seafood soup was yummy, I ate the whole thing. The duck and the curry was good too! Service was awesome. Made sure that our drinks were filled and always check on me. The restaurant was clean and very relaxing. So if you're in the area stop by and give it a try!!!

Yelp
I came on a Tuesday with a friend. We ordered the fresh catch special seafood soup ( crab meat, shrimp, scallops), japanese style pork curry, and a half of duck for dinner. The place is clean and good for groups. The dining area is an average compact size. Everything we ordered came out fresh and hot. We enjoyed our first visit it was soooo yummy. Staff and service are excellent!! It was a busy weekday, but the wait time is short to none. I can't wait till next time to try other menu items!!!

Yelp
Love Open Rice!!! I've been here several times and they have never disappointed! Nearly every time I visit the Blakeney shopping center I stop here to eat. During this visit I ordered one of their chef specials - can't remember the name. One of the employees compared it to a rotisserie chicken that's lightly fried - giving the skin a nice crunch. It comes with rice and the chicken was on a bed of bok choy. Also, every time I'm here I order a 22 oz thai tea. One of the best I've had in CLT - perfect balance of tea/milk/sweetness. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Went here for dinner with friends. We had a very knowledgeable waitress who answered our questions about the vast menu choices. We ordered the very popular half of roast duck, kingdom chicken ( sweet and sour ) ,a sizzling shrimp dish ( shrimp teppanyaki ) with yum yum sauce and vegetarian spring rolls. Food was very tasty, plated nicely, and came out hot with good portion size. Prices are reasonable for what you get. I found the roast duck somewhat hard to eat because of the bones bur it still was enjoyable. I'd return and try a different menu item.

Yelp
5 stars pineapple fried rice, crab Rangoon, miso ramen, spicy Thai eggplant, beef chow fun. Very nice and hardworking waitress. Looking forward to going back.

Yelp
I'm not the biggest fans of doing reviews for takeout but when a place impresses me this much, I'm compelled to do so. The lack of quality Chinese food in Charlotte has been one of its major drawbacks to a foodie like me. I often have to drive to South Carolina to get something remotely close to what my Big Apple palate is used to. All that has changed now that I have found Open Rice Blakeney. For starters, I like the interior. Didn't sit there, but it looked fun, clean and not too prissy. The cashier was friendly. I ordered the shrimp and pork fried rice and the chicken fried rice (I had some jerk chicken at home and needed to add a carb). Let me tell you, both rice dishes were fantastic. A++. Thank God for whoever opened this place. I'll be back, in person, to order more items on the menu very very soon.

Yelp
My son took me here on mother's Day and I really didn't know what to expect. I so appreciated the steady pace service and recommendations for new flavors. We didn't feel rushed or interrupted and the food was amazing. Such a cool little spot too.

Yelp
So this is a tough review for me to write. I absolutely loved my beef bulgolgi but my boyfriend's Pho was honestly not very good. It was bland and the beef had a weird texture. Our waitress Esther was super sweet and knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions quickly and was always near by. I would definitely want her as my waitress again. The bill was very pricey for food that we didn't absolutely LOVE. But again I loved my beef bulgolgi and we will be back to try a different dish rather than the Pho. The manager was nice and apologized for it not being great but no refund. Didn't expect one though as we did order it and wanted it to begin with. Oh and the spicy edamame was great too.

Yelp
I usually go here when I visit Charlotte. Service is usually good. I love their fried rice in the skillet.
google avatar

Patricia P.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with friends. The ambience was fine like typical Asian fusion Chinese place. Our server was attentive and make sure we got our drinks refills. Our friends ordered cast iron chicken fried rice skillet, jumbo lump crab meat and shrimp fried rice, fried pot stickers, and sweet and sour chickens. We ordered fried golden buns, SHRIMP AND CHICKEN UDON WITH BLACK PEPPER SAUCE, MISO BUTTER CORN RAMEN, HONG KONG CHAR SIU, a side of fried rice. For the dessert both families ordered the bubble waffle. We think the food were okay. The Hongkong Char siu aka Cantonese pork bbq came out very late and it was cold and need more salt or more flavor, in my opinion. The best flavor food was the cast ironed skillet shrimp fried rice and the bubble waffle with the ice cream and all the cereal toppings. We don't think we'll be back since we just here visiting Charlotte.

Yelp
So the Cast Iron Fried Rice was good but the Salt and Pepper Chicken was definitely just Chicken Nuggets - No Salt or Pepper ! Just drynlittle Nuggets too- I was Disappointed! Also i asked for extra broccoli in the fried rice and paid extra for it but there was only 3 pieces of it ! Strange --- and extra Scallions but couldnt find any ??

Yelp
10 out of 10. Service was great!! Seated quickly, server was quick and personable...not just an order taker. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi with a side of Kimchi. Outside of Korea, this was the best I've had. The kimchi wasn't as spicy as I was expecting but had good flavor. Strawberry boba was a tasty treat to have with my dinner as well. There was a larger party sat next to me which got kinda loud but it wasn't horrible. It was an overall very nice dining experience with great food. Y'all definitely need to check it out!

Yelp
Plenty of parking this place is located in a strip mall. We were greeted at the door and seated. Place is lively with a vibrant ambiance. We started off with salt & pepper fried chicken and potstickers. The entrees were great and plentiful we all left full and with leftovers. Food was freshly made with great ingredients. You won't regret eating here. Oh and our waitress Ana was great!!!
google avatar

Britanny T.

Yelp
The prices are high but the food is SO WORTH IT! I'm not sure if it's as authentic as it tastes but I'd say it's the closest to authentic as I've ever had and I'm quite the foodie lol Server was outstanding!!! And the space is tight but not too bad
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
Nice and clean establishment. Both the food and service were great. All of the food we ordered had tons of flavor but not over powering where it took away from anything. Definitely looking forward to eating here again to try different dishes.

Charles L.

Yelp
there's a really good Asian restaurant I like the eclectic menu choices. My phone was very good. They have amazing rice dishes and overall I really like this restaurant and I will give them a strong four stars for food quality presentation and selection. They have a very interesting drink menu with lots of Boba tea and slushy and one strange waffle dessert for an Asian restaurant lol

Yelp
My 7 year old twins asked me to give this place a good review so here I am, doing their bidding. Great atmosphere, fast service and friendly staff. I was apprehensive to try the Pho but my daughter was insisted on trying and it was surprisingly delicious. The kimchi fried rice was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Stir fried clams were on a saltier side but tasted good with white rice. Both husband and son approved the beef chow fun. All in all, great food and awesome experience. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Went here for the first time with my 8 month old daughter. The waitress Chelsea was delightful and gave great recommendations. My daughter downed a plate of gyoza. I had the crispy spicy tofu and the cast iron chicken fried rice. The portions were large and the flavors and texture were incredible. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
Open is wonderful! I love the menu as Asian street foods are some of my favorites. Comfortable environment and good service. The kimchee rice is my go to.

Yelp
Open Rice has been on my list for years now since they opened. I finally got a chance to check it out and it was great!!! Definitely excited to come back and try more dishes. Had a good mix of americanized chinese but a few of the more authentic dishes. Recommend to check this place out if youre in the area. More of a casual place. Overall: 4.7/5 When: Saturday 12pm, party of 2 Food: 4.7/5 - we got the fried potstickers, half order of the five spice fried chicken, and the cast iron kimchi fried rice. Potstickers were delicious and the dipping sauce that it came with was on point. Cast iron kimchi fried rice was decent. Definitely a large portion and could feed at least 2. TBH it was lacking some flavor.. i was expecting it to have a little more umami to it. Perhaps some sesame oil to the dish would be nice and more kimchi and char siu. The star of the show today was the five spice fried chicken. Wow. Cooked perfectly... crispy.. juicy.. flavorful. Good job on the chicken!!! Chicken came with white rice or +$3 upcharge for a small bowl of fried rice. Service: 4.8/5 - the host and server were very friendly and nice. Server was on top of stuff and got us our check and togo boxes without us having to ask. Vibes: 4.7/5 - place was poppin as soon as they opened at 12pm on saturday. Great place for a quick casual bite. Maybe not for a date or nice dinner though. Other: free surface lot. Located in the blakeney shopping center. Has a bar (kind of) with tall walls in front of you though. Casual place, def not fine dining.

Yelp
Oh my goodness- this FOOD is so amazing!! It is the absolute VERY BEST Asian Fusion Food I've ever eaten! We love it so much, that it's been added to our bi-monthly choices for restaurants! The staff is so patient, especially with my 83yr old mother, who is dealing with dementia, and can be hard to tolerate. Their food is absolutely the freshest I've tried in a long time in Charlotte, and the staff is always very accommodating; even if there's an allergy issue, or whatever. The whole team seems to work very well together, from the moment you enter the restaurant! I highly recommend this amazing Asian Fusion Spot! It is such a refreshing escape from the usual bland, and very hurried restaurants around CLT! We also love the cool interior, and the staff is always on top of things around them, it's a superior "well-oiled machine"!! N Peterson

Yelp
I really enjoy eating at this restaurant. Usually I get the duck and Char Siu. Those two are my go to dishes to share. One word delicious. Recently I tried their lobster and noodle dish. A little pricy but it's lobster. It reminds me of the Asian wedding lobster dish. (Amazing) Staff: friendly Atmosphere: relaxing and chill Food: good I can't wait for their 2nd location to open up in metropolitan area.

Yelp
Food was not good, price was high & we left unsatisfied, unfortunately. We have friends that love it, so it was surprising that did not enjoy it after the rave reviews!!

Yelp
Love this place. Every time I come to Charlotte to visit my brother we eat here. Food is always fresh and delicious

Yelp
My husband and I visited Open Rice on December 28h and thoroughly enjoyed it!! The service was excellent-with the hostess -and our server was very friendly and funny! We will definitely return to try other items on the menu and recommend trying it out!!!

Yelp
When I go out I want the food to be better than what I can make at home. This was wonderful. Such nuance and flavor. Our server was perfect. Attentive but not hovering or rushed. The restaurant is good looking and spacious. I've been here a few times and these 2 soups are amongst the best things I've had there.

Dina S.

Yelp
Placed a to-go order in the restaurant and it was such an easy, and pleasant experience. Front desk employee (Dane) was so patient and kind while taking my order. She went over menu items and offered suggestions while also making modifications to what I selected. She estimated the order would take about 10 minutes, and took maybe 5. Very fast, and order was accurate and still warm when I arrived home. The steamed dumplings, pineapple fried rice, and Hong Kong char siu were amazing! I'm not a fan of turmeric, so she suggested leaving that out of the pineapple fried rice and adding soy sauce instead. I ended up keeping the turmeric to experience the dish as is, but noted to keep it light. The Hong Kong char siu was able to come with the bok choy on the side, which was perfectly seemed. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, quick service, and delicious food!

Lynn S.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We go here all the time. They even know what we are going to get each time. We know what waitstaff we want and we get excited to see them. Kinda crazy about this place.
google avatar

Stacy E.

Yelp
This place is delicious. I came during lunch peak hours and was still sat immediately with my choice of seating. Due to the chilly weather today, I opted for their Tonkatsu Ramen with a side order of their Kimchi. My server, Andrew, was very knowledgeable of the menu with some of his personal recommendations. The service was fast, and fresh. The Kimchi was fresh and super crunchy. I needed an extra kick for my ramen so their chili oil sauce was ordered on the side, and it was just the right amount of kick for the Ramen. Parking is great since the establishment is part of the shopping center. Patio and bar seating are also available upon request.

Andrzej P.

Yelp
Great Asian place that departs slightly from standard "Chinese/American" experience and feels more authentic. Our server was attentive. Food was also good quality.

Linda F.

Yelp
Horrible manager. He doesn't know how to communicate with high school students that he chooses to hire.

Yelp
Open Rice is the restaurant I always drive by while thinking, "one day I'll check it out." Soooo glad I finally did. My first visit was on a Friday evening. The restaurant was very busy, but I was still seated right away. It's a comfy cozy dining spot, good for small parties, larger parties, and solo dining. The menu is a 20-page booklet with tons of pictures. I decided to order spring rolls while I flipped through the pages. The spring rolls came out in less than 5 minutes, piping hot and delish. After browsing through the first 10 pages of the menu, I asked the server for a recommendation. My question was "What is the best item on your menu...the item that everyone always loves and no one has ever complained about?" I figured it would be a tough question with a 20-page menu, but my server didn't hesitate. "The Bulgogi." The Bulgogi it is! I'm unsure about how long it took for my entree to arrive, but it felt like 4-5 minutes. I know it arrived fast. After tasting it, I figured it could be the most ordered item on the menu, so they might make fresh it all day long...hence, the extremely short wait. Who knows. Thankfully, my server steered me in the right direction. I absolutely loved it. It's marinated beef with a sweet and savory taste, and lots of veggies. My description doesn't do this meal justice in the slightest. My experience overall was so enjoyable, I returned two days later on Sunday. Again, I started with the spring rolls. My husband ordered the spicy beef stir fry udon. I stuck with the bulgogi. Although his food was very tasty, he agreed that the bulgogi was the type of dish you could eat over and over without getting tired of it. I had the same server on Friday and Sunday, Andrew, who was absolutely amazing - welcoming, personable, and knowledgeable. I don't know what kind of magic tricks they perform in the kitchen to make food so tasty and so fast, but I'm sure it includes unicorns, sparkles, fairy dust, clicking heels together, and maybe a sacrificial ritual. Whatever it is, it's working. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Very clean and spacious restaurant. Kid friendly and amazing staff. The food was delicious and plentiful. My favorite would have to be the dessert. I would come back just for that.

Nicholas B.

Yelp
Food - best Asian restaurant around. The menu is eclectic and authentic. Having lived in Japan for four years we can attest that their Ramen, Gyoza, and other menu offerings are as close to the real thing that can be found in the Charolette area. The boba is top notch! Service - we love the staff there. They are always friendly and welcoming with prompt timing. Note - in Japan meals are served when ready not all at once and Open Rice does a good job of balancing the difference. Ambiance - can get loud and there is nothing fancy. However, the customers are diverse and the atmosphere is positive. Great place for big and small groups.

Yelp
Finally came to Open Rice on a super rainy night. It was really hard to find the location. I think it was the GPS taking us to the wrong side of the biz. It was crazy busy for a rainy Tuesday night. There were a lot of folks waiting to be seated right in the front area near the door. When I walked in there was a couple before me and for some reason 2 different parties walked in after me and skipped me in the line to put my name on the waitlist. Of course I was pissed, but didn't make a fuss. LUCKILY this super sweet hostess named Elizabeth saw it all happened and as soon as I walked up to her she said: "did they just cut you?". I said yea and she so nicely put my name before theirs on the list! Thank you so much for doing that, made all the difference :) I ordered the: ~ beef chow fun: it was soooooooo good, flavorful and was actually a great amount of food even though it didn't look like it. Would 100% order this again. ~ crab wontons: this is a fav of mine so I always order, but these were okay. ~ bubble waffle: had to try this beauty and it did not disappoint!!! This was my favorite thing I had that night lol. I had the green tea ice cream and it was just perfect. Our server Claire was awesome too! Can't wait to come back!

Rob F.

Yelp
Great Food, Great Service love the pot stickers and the variety. Quality foods! Their chicken with string beans very good and quality always allows take home..

Dave D.

Yelp
The menu is extensive with lots of great choices. I had the Chicken Fried Rice skillet. It was very favorable and enough for two meals. We also ordered a Ramen can't remember the name but it was fantastic. We'll definitely be returning to try other options. Service was exceptional as well.

Mehrdad R.

Yelp
Excellent food, wonderful, chairs are uncomfortable and noisy to move around. The owners need to decide if they want to be a fast food with a high-end restaurant environment. Bathrooms needs attention.

Yelp
We give OpenRice on Blakeney another try Sunday and got the soft shell crab and chicken cast iron fried rice. Both were good, the soft shell crab are crispy and you can eat the whole thing. Surprisingly I liked the legs more than the body since the body was a little butter because of the eggs and gonads. The soft shell crab was $31.95. A little pricey but the portion were big, we finished the fried rice but I had leftover crabs to bring home.

Yelp
My sister and I were out shopping and decided to stop at Open Rice Blakeney for lunch. We were seated immediately and our server, Chelsea, checked in with us for a drink order almost as soon as we sat down. After flipping through the menu, and basically wanting to try everything on it, we decided to order a sampling of items from the Street Food menu. We chose the Crispy Spicy Tofu, Bok Choy, Salt and Pepper Fried Chicken, and a side of Fried Rice. All four dishes were brought to our table within minutes of placing our order. Everything was steaming hot with nice presentation. We agreed that the tofu was among the best either of us had ever had. The batter was fried to crispy perfection and the tofu had a lot of great texture and retained a bit of firmness. The sauce was delicious and mild, with the spice coming from the peppers. So if spicy isn't your thing, this is still a great choice. Just skip the peppers. The bok choy was prepared simply and cooked to perfection. The garlic was present without being overpowering. The fried chicken was crunchy and delicious with just the right amount of salt and pepper and the accompanying sauce really complemented it. We added the fried rice on a whim and when we asked, Chelsea happily offered that it could be made without eggs. It had delicious smoky sesame flavor and was also cooked perfectly. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the portions, expecting to really just have enough for us to try each dish but we both had more than enough and there was even some left to take home. And for around $32 plus tip, it was more than reasonably priced. Additionally, every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, and Chelsea was particularly attentive, knowledgeable, and really friendly. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
The restaurant is spacious. Service was excellent. The fried pork chop that baked with the tomato sauce and cheese was super dry. The beef chow fun and the Singapore noodle were delicious. The kingdom chicken was average.

Yelp
Yum! One of my favorite restaurants in Ballantyne. If it's your first visit I'd recommend the fried rice skillet and the bulgogi.

Yelp
Just left Open Rice and will tell you this place was a huge disappointment. A huge let down when I had hyped the place to my girlfriend for the past two weeks based on their menu I've seen online. The restaurant itself is clean and modernly designed. The menus are colorful and felt authentic to HK style with the way things were crossed or white out updated. Now onto the service/food... The roasted duck was fairly priced and tasted like the duck you would buy at the Asian market. Nothing out of the ordinary or making a difference of standard Cantonese duck. The bang bang shrimp tasted like walnut shrimp from Panda Express and honestly it tasted if not worse than a Chinese fast food restaurant maybe along with some added garnish & some walnuts. Eggplant was OK - not anything outstanding. I was hoping for some quality Cantonese style food but left very disappointed. My girlfriend and I will not be returning and continue our journey for good Chinese food in Charlotte area. Service was subpar and almost nonexistent. Our waiter didn't even take our order. Given it was Sunday but wow atleast they got the authentic non existent Chinese restaurant customer service right but why should that balance out with bougie American pricing for really lackluster food. Our tab was $70 with only one boba drink. We had 1/2 duck, one vegetable, and a total of two entrees. For $70 at some of the other places we've been to. We could have a 3 course meal with drinks for us both. Rating: 2/5 (For better understanding - I moved here from San Francisco/Oakland about 1 year ago. I have been to Hong Kong, Mainland China, Korea, Thailand and Japan)

Yelp
What's all the hype? This place is basic. This was our first time going and I am genuinely wondering why it has so many positive reviews. First, let's start with the bang bang chicken. I don't know about you,but when I think bang bang, I think juicy and spicy, not over-fried little bricks of chicken that are dry and flavorless. It comes with flavorless broccoli and dry white rice. The meal is so dry, it's a choking hazard. My husband got some noodle meal that lacked any flavor at all. For nearly $20 a dish, we expected something decent. I guess, if you have the palate of a kindergartner, you might be impressed, but we are world travelers, and have eaten at real Asian food restaurants. This is not one of them.
