"Happy Hour at the Sydney Opera House - Australia There are certain touristy things that one must do while traveling. And some places are so great that even locals flock to them despite the fact that they're heavily trodden. The Opera Bar at the Sydney Opera House is one of those places. There really isn't a good reason not to hit happy hour at the Opera Bar. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the selection is impeccable. There is live music every night of the week and the vistas offered by the bar are some of the best in all of Sydney . Transportation options to and from the Opera House are plentiful not to mention that site-seeing and drinking almost always go good together."

"Tucked in the Lower Concourse level of the Sydney Opera House, the al fresco Opera Bar is the place you'd recommend to anyone visiting Sydney for the first time. For one, it's got Instagram-worthy views over the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge. A strong cocktail list excels at twists on classic cocktails; the wine list, meanwhile, features mainly Australian bottles as well as high-end Champagnes like Dom Pérignon and Cristal. (Yes, it's that kind of place.) There are also gorgeous, upscale, tapas-like bar snacks like anchovies with waffles and chicken paté on sourdough." - Kris Fordham, Laura Dannen Redman

Google
Coming from Vancouver, Canada, where water front & Stanley Park offers lush greenery and waterfront views, I was eager to experience Sydney's iconic Opera Bar — and it did not disappoint. Nestled at the base of the Sydney Opera House, this open-air bar offers breathtaking panoramas of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House sails, and the sparkling waters of Sydney Harbour. I loved how convenient the QR code ordering system was — so easy! The servers just appeared with my order, making the whole experience smooth and hassle-free. I had a Caesar cocktail, and it was absolutely amazing. The menu, curated by Chef Matt Moran, features fresh, seasonal Australian produce with a focus on seafood. I was also impressed with the incredible variety of cocktails on offer. I visited in the fall, and even though it was busy, I can’t imagine how lively it must get during summer or festivals. With such stunning views, Opera Bar is truly a paradise for Instagram influencers. The vibe is vibrant yet relaxed, making it the perfect spot to enjoy delicious food, a refreshing drink, and take in one of the best views in Sydney. If you’re in Sydney, Opera Bar is an essential stop — an unforgettable experience with world-class views, great food, and amazing drinks.

Sipping on your favourite drink in golden sunshine, right in front of the iconic Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge - what else could you dream of. Food was amazing, presentation was beautiful, staff members were friendly and helpful, overall a great experience. It should be on todo list of anyone visiting Sydney. Highly recommended.

Google
We did the Opera House tour and food package. We got 3 options for dining and went with Opera Bar. The atmosphere outside was perfect!! We ordered at the bar, got a meal number stick, and our food was delivered to our table. Ricotta Gnocchi was 10/10!! Perfect spot to grab lunch for a reasonable price and a perfect atmosphere and view. Lots of outside seating💗 Will be back if ever in the area again!

Google
Hands down, one of the finest ways to experience Sydney Harbour. Opera Bar combines bold, well-crafted food, a sharp wine list, and a laid-back, luxe atmosphere that hits just right. Pro tip: grab a table 30 minutes before sunset, ideally along the walkway or northwest of table 962. You’ll catch the golden hour lighting up the bridge and skyline, unbeatable. Service was top-notch, friendly without overstepping. For the location, the pricing is surprisingly fair. Opera Bar doesn’t try too hard, it just delivers. Effortless, stylish, …remarkable.

Google
Absolutely loved my time at Opera Bar in Sydney! 🌞🍹 It’s the perfect spot to escape the heat and enjoy a refreshing drink with an unbeatable view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The atmosphere is lively, and the live music adds a great vibe to the experience. However, be prepared for it to be quite busy, especially during peak times. The prime seats with the best views are usually taken quickly. While Opera Bar primarily operates on a walk-in basis, they do accept lunch bookings Monday to Thursday before 12:30 PM for groups of four or more. So, if you’re aiming for that perfect Opera House view, it’s worth planning ahead. Overall, a fantastic place to relax and soak in Sydney’s iconic scenery. Just remember to arrive early or book ahead to secure the best spot!

Google
Opera Bar is always a nice spot to pop with friends for lunch or dinner. I had the Italian Sausage pizza which was tasty! It's quite a casual setting, and they've got some food you can share if you're in a group. A tasty meal right by the harbour!

Google
Their signature cocktails were truly delightful and flavorful. The calamari was enjoyable, although it arrived slightly chilled. While the taramasalata lacked a more pronounced taste, the accompanying veggie chips were commendable. The fish taco stood out as an exceptional dish. Despite the staff’s exceptional service, which was evident despite their overwhelming busyness, the overall dining experience was quite enjoyable.

Google
Took a little time out at Opera Bar and honestly, what a treat! The drinks were spot-on—fresh, fun, and just what I needed—but the real showstopper? That view. Sipping a cocktail with the Opera House on one side and the Harbour Bridge on the other felt like a true “pinch me” moment. Busy, yes—but worth every second. A must-do Sydney experience.

Yelp
Can't find a better spot for a bite and a view! You can go up to the bar and place your order. Then pick one of the amazing seats outside to enjoy your food and a gorgeous view on the Opera House. The friendly staff brought out my fish and chips. Loved the tartar sauce-- so much flavor and not a prepackaged option. The chips were cooked perfectly and fish was fresh. I'll be back!

Yelp
Fun, great service, open to everyone. I didn't try the food, just drinks. It was a beautiful day and I was alone and really enjoyed the relaxing vibe.

Yelp
Great place for indoor or outdoor seating near the opera house, by quay and for the view of the bridge for people watching. I appreciated the convenience of the QR scanner to order strait to your table. It made dinner experience really efficient to order and check out. Food came out quick and so did drinks. I would recommend the tostada. They were such a nice treat being by the water. I liked how the crab and avocado dip was served inside a actual crab, nice touch towards freshness!

Yelp
Located right next to the famous Sydney opera house and right along the harbor. This little spot offers a tremendous view, but at the price of a chaotic scene This place does not accept reservations and does not assign seating so it is a complete free for all when it comes to finding a table. I went on a Wednesday in the summer and it was absolutely packed. Each table was completely filled and each aisle way was filled with people trying to find a seat. It is a very loud setting so definitely don't expect a quiet dinner. You order food at the bar and it gets delivered to you. The food and drinks are just okay. I went with a tropical cocktail which was not too sweet and hit the spot. For food, we went with the yellow fin, sashimi, and the peach and tomato salad. The fish were both tasty and the sashimi was fresh. I would pass on the tomato and peach salad. It was too bland for my tastes. If you can get past the difficulty of finding a table, opera bar is a great, jovial place to spend time with a group.

Yelp
If you're going to eat here, you're really here because of the location, the view, and the convenience. The food wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out either... Except for the sweet potato fries. They are so so good! Sweet, thick, crispy, and smokey, and a huge portion, too! If I lived in Sydney I would come back often just to get these. Ordering is easy through a QR code and there were plenty of seats and tables to enjoy the views.
google avatar

Yelp
Let's start with the view. I mean, you are at the Sydney opera house, looking at the Harbour Bridge. Plenty of (outside) seating. The service is friendly and quick. We took a walk around the Opera House then stopped for a drink and a bite to eat. I had a glass of rosé, hubby had a beer and we shared the cold seafood platter. Sydney has THE BEST prawns! Annd no prawn is complete without seafood sauce. Also on the platter was some delicious, salmon sashimi. I love oysters and Sydney rock oysters are my favorite in the world, they were also on this platter. Another variety of sashimi (I forgot which type) and some crab legs. The crabs were a lot of work but worth it. This was the perfect place for an afternoon drink and scenic snack.

Yelp
Sit on your own. Scan the QR code to order. Tip will be added based on your choice of percentage. Located at the bottom of the Opera House. At night, there's music and heater used. Food is fantastic. Service is great! Beautiful view! 7-25-2023

Yelp
Beautiful location! I am an American visiting Sydney and this was the most beautiful bar and location ever. It's very busy so you either have to get there early or be prepared to make several laps to be able to get a table with the best view. We had perfect weather and perfect views. The food was pretty good as well. You order via the app and it is brought to you fairly quickly.
google avatar

Stormy M.

Yelp
The view and drinks are wonderful here. Very easy to order with the QR code and they'll bring it right to your table. Unfortunately we tried some snack items and couldn't finish the food we ordered. Nothing was earth eating : the falafel, fried chicken, taramasalata or the dessert brownie. Highly recommend to skip the food, enjoy the drinks and view and then head out for a nice lunch or dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere. The food was tasty and fresh. Service was on point. The view of the Harbor Bridge and Carnival Splendor makes it well worth it. I love that you can place your order from the table and pay.

Yelp
What a vibe and what a way to start my night with my girl!!! Live band and good wine yes please

Yelp
It was easy to find a table on a Monday evening. You can walk up and sit where you'd like, then order from a QR code at the table. There's plenty of seating and heat lamps to keep you warm. The view is great! Drinks and food came I'm out in a pretty quick fashion and everything we ordered was great! Highly recommend checking out this spot prior to watching a show, it was super convenient.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a perfect place to come for a drink and live music. Our drinks were delicious but expensive. I also went here for a delicious ham and cheese croissant the next morning. The view alone is worth every penny.

Yelp
Me and two of my work mates went gallivanting around Downtown Sydney. It's a beautiful Summer morning and we're out and about. We could have stayed indoors, like in a generic mall food court. But why waste a gorgeous day? Somehow we gravitated towards Sydney Harbour and ended up right at the world famous Opera House. How could we resist not having lunch near the water front with a stunning view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Plenty of open air seating, umbrellas on every table, with cooling mist spraying intermittently. We first needed to check-in using the Covid Service NSW app and show proof you're checked in with the host. One of my friends app wasn't working properly, so either of us had to add him as a dependent, technology with first world problems hehe. They had many tables to choose from as it's a FCFS basis. QR codes are located in the middle of the table to view the menu. This is where it becomes a non-personal type of customer service. I get it we've been living in a Covid World Epidemic, but to order both your food and beverage and to make payments from your cellphone is pretty tacky. You don't get the experience of a warm Aussie welcome, a run down of the menu, and a Q&A portion should we want to know special items. To top it off, you're asked to tip upon payment, when you haven't even tasted your F&B! Once we've made our picks, you're then interacted with a staff member dropping off drinks, dinner roll-ups, but I must say that the food was delivered quite fast. Each staff asks if you received everything ordered, if extra napkins are needed, and if you need to-go containers for leftovers. It's a pretty generic restaurant type of food service. The outdoor view compensates for that, Also let the USD make up for the price you pay. Maybe I'd just come back only for drinks the next time I'm in town.

Yelp
While the cost of a drink is astronomical, you are paying for the view of the Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay, and The Opera House. You will also be enjoying the atmosphere of one of Sydney's hot spots. Don't miss this great bar for the chance to really enjoy the local vibe.
google avatar

Jana N.

Yelp
I only ordered an Aperol Spritz (so no food), and it was great. The best view of the Opera House, lounging at the water edge on a sunny day. What else could a girl wish for?
google avatar

Lucas N.

Yelp
Great views. Hard to grab a good seat when it's busy. Food is okay. Reviewers saying the pizza is great are overestimating by a good amount. Found it to be a middling offering with pretty low quality ingredients.
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
Incredible location although being in the lower concourse you lose the direct harbour view. Lots of tables and a lot of them in full sun so bring your hat and sunscreen! So if the canopy tables had misted jets to cool everyone down which was a nice touch - unless you have straightened hair that responds to moisture - then not so much ... sleek to Afro in one setting! Foot was good but pubish with lots of fried stuff. That said the seafood platters looked great. Enjoyed a very pleasant 3 hours of wine food and people watching. Definitely a location restaurant but fun and worth the visit

Yelp
Yes, yes, a million times yes! As a tourist of Sydney, I would say that the Opera Bar was one of the highlights of my trip. My girlfriends and I were looking to escape the Sydney rain while sightseeing and decided to pop-in to this biz to grab a quick bite and a few drinks before heading on the ferry. Little did we know that what was to be a quick snacking session turned into a couple hours spent admiring the sights of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. I must've been too engulfed in the great conversations being had that I totally forgot to snap some pics, but believe me when I say that the views were immaculate (despite the rain). Now don't get me wrong, this is definitely your typical tourist trap bar, but I mean cmon... where else are you going to find unobstructed views of two of Sydney's most famous landmarks? We visited during their rosé festival so there were plenty of rosé inspired drinks to be had. From bubbly to cocktails, the bartenders here knew how to make a drink and make it a strong one. The service here was kind and friendly and relatively hands off. There were a few QR codes at the table that allowed you to order your drinks directly without having to interact with anyone. All in all, the only part of this experience that I wasn't too fond of were the birds... good lord, were they aggressive. If you've got some chips (fries), be careful because they will attack! At one point one of my girlfriends had to put up her umbrella as a shield from the birds!

Yelp
We had drinks and food here while touring the opera house. The backdrop is amazing and outdoor dining was great! There was live music & boy was he amazing! Really set the mood for a great dinner with drinks for us tourists from the US. The food was great also, very tasty! We had a few items that included the steak entree, fish and chips, pork cutlet and a few appetizers. It was beautiful & would definitely come back again. PSA: all ordering is done online through their app ;)
google avatar

Jamie K.

Yelp
Go for the iconic view! It's in the harbour obviously so beware the seagulls. Great pizza and drinks with easy self serve and checkout.
google avatar

Dey A.

Yelp
They have a lot of good food options here. I love that you can just scan a QR code to order your food. Unfortunately, when I went, my family wanted to sit inside, and there were several gnats/fruit flies that made the experience less than ideal. Next time I will definitely sit outside, where you get a beautiful view of the opera house, the harbor bridge, and the city skyline. The food and drink came fairly quickly and there was always staff around that you could ask for assistance if needed. I tried the fried chicken and sweet potato fries, and let me tell you, those sweet potato fries! Probably the best I've ever had especially paired with the chipotle aïoli. The Opera House has a parking garage that leads to this area which was very convenient although the parking garage is fairly pricey.
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
After touring the Opera House I stopped here for a drink and a snack...ended up staying for awhile because of the spectacular views. Lot's of seating but it fills up fast, also note tables with umbrellas are reserved only...ask a server about seating there. But I preferred sitting in the warm sun (wear sunscreen) Order at the counter or a server, i did both. Nice beer selection, really enjoyed the Sydney Beer Co Lager $12, yes a bit expensive but it's drinks with a view. I had a cheese plate with 3 premium Australian Cheese's, crispy bread, grapes, nuts and jam spread. So good and well blend of flavors...$32. Another visit I had the fish n chips, 3 crispy breaded fish with lot's of fries for $30. Server brings metal cover to help guard from eager seagulls! Both locals and tourists come here, again it's amazing views of the Harbour! Great live music near the outside bar area. Really enjoyed hanging out, definitely recommend!
google avatar

Ward K.

Yelp
We came during the day as we wanted to check out the Opera House. Drinks with a view? Sure why not! Service was fast. Prices IMO was a bit high then again you pay to get a view or is it because it's a tourist spot? Probably both in this case. Pro tip:. Do you have food? Watch for the birds as they will try and snatch it. They have these metal mesh you can put over your food so the birds can't steel it.
google avatar

Shalini G.

Yelp
I liked it enough to come on 3 separate days....not because it's the most fabulous bar ever...or a hidden gem ...or best drinks ever...or because it was cheap... i came here because it was so cool with an amazing view and all my peeps kept wanting to meet up here (we were a very large group ...nearly 100) ... the view is amazing the service is stellar the location is central the food is pretty good the drinks are above average price for the area...but you're paying for the location.. yup...we found other super cool spots for night time...but this was our day time hang
google avatar

Kristina M.

Yelp
So I know a lot of people recommend Opera Bar for its location and view, but after ordering drinks here, I realized that Opera Kitchen was closer to the Opera House and had better views! It was also less crowded as well. The security guard will tell you that Opera Bar and Opera Kitchen are two separate entities. You cannot bring your food and/or drinks from Opera Bar to Opera Kitchen, and vice versa. So after finishing our drinks and food, we hopped over to the adjacent Opera Kitchen for better seats and a view. All in all, it is a must if visiting Sydney to celebrate with drinks and views of the Opera House. Definitely one of the most memorable parts of my trip!
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
The Opera Bar has fancier selections than the Opera Kitchen. You still order at the counter but there is indoor seating. I was just looking for something light after a heavy lunch but ended up with a margherita pizza. It was tasty...but really different that the pizzas I get back in the US. But evidently it's what's normal for Sydney. Plus I had a yummy watermelon based cocktail, the Sunshine Spritz, very refreshing. Service was good; they do bring your food to you, but you're supposed to wait for you beverage unless told otherwise. Counter ordering is convenient for no check splitting. One weird thing... I only ate half my pizza but they don't have a license for carry out so either you smuggle your food out in napkins (not that you would ever do that) or let it go to waste. I don't really understand that.
google avatar

C G.

Yelp
The BEST! Recommended by a great friend as a sweet spot full of locals and tourists but with the best most relaxed views of the harbor bridge and Opera house. JUST STUNNING! Okay, drinks are a bit pricey but no more than NYC or Chicago or Paris...it's city prices but the calamari is delicious and the drinks are lovely. I can't wait to go back already.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is awesome. Gorgeous view with tasty food and cocktails right by the Sydney Opera House. I can see why this place is popular among both tourists and locals. However, because it's so popular, it can be difficult finding a table. It's not impossible, but let's just say you have to do some reconnaissance because I didn't see an open table stay open for more than a minute or two. How it works is you order at the central bar and the waitstaff will bring your food to your table. Given how expansive the Opera Bar is, it does take a while for your food to come, but it's already pretty amazing that they can even find you. We ordered the flatbread and the burrata (each ~$18 AUD), but they also have full-on meals as well as lots of seafood options (cooked and raw). A bit on the pricey side, but I think it's to be expected given where you're at. The burrata is a must. Super delicious. I think Opera Bar is a must if you're ever visiting Sydney. When the weather is nice, it's even more of a must since it's all outdoors. It's also extremely gorgeous at night.
google avatar

Carmen P.

Yelp
Amazing place to have drinks on the wharf. The view is stunning and the location is perfect to get together with friends. It's a busy location and the service is expectedly slow but persevere as there isn't another spot just like it. Food and drinks are a touch above average in terms of pricing but the venue makes up for it.
google avatar

Jamie F.

Yelp
O Bar is the best spot for sips and nibbles while soaking in the breathtaking panoramic views of the Sydney Harbor and Opera House!! Cocktails will set you back $20 AUD, but they're generous and well-made. Bar food was nothing special, good for quick bites only. Note: they don't have take-away containers for your leftover food. The venue was fairly large with plenty of seating available (indoor or outdoor, with or without shade). Just watch out for the hungry seagulls if you're sitting outdoors. Touristy? Yes, but still maintained a cool and trendy atmosphere. I will gladly throw my US dollars here every time I visit Australia.
google avatar

Cosmo W.

Yelp
Very touristy and very busy, but great service, food, drinks and views! The staff are all helpful and friendly, especially given the amount of people here. Fish & Chips are great, and the beer is COLD. Charcuterie and Cheese plates are awesome as well. It's also just a great place to order a drink and take in all that Sydney Harbour has to offer...
google avatar

Mary A.

Yelp
Opera Bar is a place with a breathtaking view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge! My friends and I had simple delicious food and drinks. It was pretty hard to find a table on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, but we were successful in the end. The downfall here is that it gets really crowded - that the wait times for the unoccupied tables, food, drinks, (and the annoying the sneaky seagulls that like to pick at your food lol) etc can be overwhelming and unpredictable. But as long as you expect that, you'll be fine. My friends and I weren't on a time crunch to be anywhere ASAP so we had time to wait for our food, so it was a fun experience either way. It really is a place to enjoy your weekend though, the sun, the view, the music - just the whole vibe there is really enjoyable and relaxing to experience with friends :)
google avatar

Geraldine G.

Yelp
Overlooking the iconic Sydney Opera House , Darling Harbour Bridge , and view of the city while enjoying the ambience and vibe while sipping your glass of wine/beer/cocktail in hand is unparalleled. Writing a review won't do Opera House justice as one just has to experience the ambiance here. All I could do was grab a high chair or sit by the bench , sip your drink, take in the view, and leave your sorrows away. Great drinks, perfect service, fair prices. 5 stars nothing less !!
google avatar

Rita G.

Yelp
We purchased a package while in Sydney, Australia. Received a terrific tour of the Sydney Opera House. It started with lunch at the Opera Bar and restaurant. I had the best fish n chips of my life. Family had the meat dish which was a cut called the rump. It would have been like a sirloin in the States. Vegetables with this were to die for & Australia just knows how to do chips. Our lunch was served outside with a beautiful view of the harbor, the bridge and the Opera House. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Sydney!
google avatar

Lindsey O.

Yelp
Terrible organization on the Tour and Dine. I did a 5 pm tour package with a show and a dining option in between. When the tour ended at 6:10, I had 50 minutes to eat. Turns out you need a separate dining voucher that isn't on your ticket and is in tiny print on the ticket email so I didn't know. It said to go to the tour info center and they had no idea what I was talking about. I ended up having to go the the main box office and now its 6:30, I have a show at 7, and I get to opera bar and they won't take my order because I won't make it in time. This 1 Star is on the whole process - they shouldn't be selling tour and dine if you have a 5 pm tour and 7 pm show. They also should email you the dining voucher with the tour and show ticket - why send 2/3?

Yelp
Great spot for a beer. I had just arrive after traveling for 20 hours and somehow was not tired. Dropped my luggage at the hotel and popped over for a beer. Great view lots of people around. I went for a local beer. Good beer and service. Food looked decent.
google avatar

Walter I.

Yelp
Met up with a friend here and I have to say this is the must go to place in Sydney. I don't think the view of the opera house and bridge can be beat if you're able to find an empty table here. We ordered a few drinks and had the fish and chips. They seriously give you a big portion but the food was just average tasting. In terms of service you pay right after you order when the staff person comes around with the electronic ordering machine. They were friendly but they won't come back to your table unless you flag them down later.
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
Location Location Location. You have a beautiful view of the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge from here. The food and drink is a tad expensive for sure, but that doesn't stop people. Its all about that view. Warning: If you don't like birds, you might wanna stay away, those seagulls are really aggressive sometimes.
google avatar

Yi Z.

Yelp
On our first day in Sydney, we spent hours walking around to see the attractions. After walking through the Royal Botanic Gardens to the Sydney Opera House, we were a little tired and ended up taking a break at Opera Bar. There was outdoor (and indoor) seating along the water. I tried Thai This (absolut vodka, coconut, vanilla, lime, mint, thai basil, spiced ginger beer) Pimm's It Is (pimm's, lillet blanc, cucumber, lemon, ginger beer, seasonal fruit) and my friend stuck with beer. Since it was a Saturday, it was great for people watching and there was even a singer performing for the customers. The location makes it a touristy option and the price is not cheap. But who cares when you're on vacation?
google avatar

Dembe N.

Yelp
Great view, atmosphere. Food is hit or mis but got some some nice tasting staff :) Would definitely recommend. Do not wait for the server at the table go straight to the bar order your food get your number and sit at the table if you find one :)
google avatar

Ro R.

Yelp
You're here for the view, since I didn't find this bar magnificent or anything. Didn't want to get any food here, because I doubt the food would be anything spectacular. I ended up just getting the Watermelon Tommy's, and the cocktail was pretty mediocre. I love specialty cocktails and pretty disappointed at the cocktails in Australia. Australians are not really big on cocktails. P just got a Bulmers Schmiddy, but I am not a beer drinker and don't like to drink wine during the day. All I want is a view and a fantastic cocktails to pair it with.
google avatar

Christian R.

Yelp
Outdoor ambience doesn't get better than this. Loved eating outside and looking up to see the Sydney Opera House. Considering the tourist centric location, the food was surprisingly not bad.

Yelp
When polling colleagues about places to visit in Sydney, the Opera Bar was mentioned as a beautiful location to grab a drink. They were certainly right about that aspect: The bar itself takes up most of an outdoor plaza area on a lower level; adjacent to the harbor's edge, and below the entrance sidewalk to the Sydney Opera House. Thus the Opera House looms next to you, and the Harbour Bridge sits in front of you, just across the ferry terminal. Hard to do better, setting-wise. But that was really the only good part. On my afternoon visit, the Opera Bar was incredibly crowded, with an obnoxious, "meat market" vibe and a harried, annoyed staff. There were few places to sit, and it was difficult to take a photo of the bridge or Opera without getting other people taking photos or selfies in the background (who were in turn taking photos of others taking photos...and so on). Sort of an interesting concept though: A bar as a hall-of-mirrors caricature of itself. The beer selection was terrible (The best I found was Corona). In the spirit of "giving the place a chance", I ordered one (with the requisite lime to mask the flavor) and sat at a very small table that had just been vacated. At least the people-watching was interesting. Unfortunately the table service here was non-existent. Had I wanted some food or another beer I would have had to vacate my spot, head to the bar or counter, and stand in a long line; and then I'd have to look for a seat all over again. I'm a bit baffled by all the five-star reviews. I do appreciate the beauty of this location, but you need more than just good scenery to make for a great bar.

Yelp
This is a must do when visiting Sydney! Obviously the location is the big draw here - on the lower level of the Opera House concourse, right on the harbour, surrounded by landmarks and in the heart of the action at Circular Quay. Yes, it is touristy and yes it is busy but how can you not be as happy as a pig in the proverbial sitting outside sipping cocktails right on the water front, taking in the iconic views and the hustle and bustle as the sun sets and Sydney lights up? There was also live music when we were there which made for a fun atmosphere. The bar is semi-covered by the upper concourse so you could sit under cover if you wanted to, but the best seats are right on the harbour where you can watch everything and take in the views. Cocktails can only be ordered from the inner bar - you'll receive a number when you order and your number will be called once your cocktails are ready, then you can take them outside. Cocktails are just under $18 each which I would expect to pay at such a location, however I was surprised to find that the food was quite reasonably priced with pizzas costing around the same! We already had other plans for dinner but it looked pretty good.

Yelp
Great pub with an awesome view! Can get a bit expensive, the food is good but the portions are small. Have had the salt and pepper squid, wedges and chips. Overall tasty but tiny! Drinks are good and the atmosphere is awesome. They sometimes have bands playing which is awesome. Can't really beat the view.

Yelp
Great view! Service here was a little slow but I enjoyed it. I just got a beer here and took in the view and the sights. Definitely come here if visiting Sydney for the first time. You get a great view and feel like you are in the middle of everything when here. You have the city on one side , the Opera House , the ocean, it's great. Pretty crowded though. Don't come here if you hate wildlife , there was lots of seagulls.

Yelp
After climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, it was time for a few solid drinks. Sydney is absolutely breathtaking and this bar gives you the perfect view of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and the bay as you enjoy your favorite drink. It was really busy because of the Vivid Lights Show but still such a wonderful time. Perhaps one of the most memorable ones of the night. This is a very popular spot for tourists and locals as well, so be ready to wait. Which in my opinion, waiting didn't bother me. It's not the bars fault they are so impressive and a place everyone wants to be on a typical evening. I can't wait to be back and come here to take in the beauty that is Sydney. Highly highly recommend.

Yelp
The food was good, the service was good, the drinks were good. I love how beautiful the place is inside. It's so busy and yet so calming. I will Be back!!! I remember coming here when I was about 16 and my brothers friends (also 16) had grown facial hair and they said "watch this" and came to the table with beer I was so astonished and curious how they did that! They do check ID now. That was 13 years ago!
