Amazing, beautiful, dramatic. Never seen a puppet show this good. They are talented and they give a summary in Italian and English before, so it's not hard to follow the plot. Highly recommend.

I found this puppet show one of the best experiences in Sicily. It is a very special art form that you just don’t experience elsewhere - the puppets themselves, the movements, the backdrops and the voice acting - altogether wonderful. It is only in Italian though so you really must pay attention to the English overview they give at the beginning so that you can follow the story properly as it is one hour long.

Theatre with a difference.... Something different to do early evening (shows at 5pm , closed Sundays). I attended a sell out performance. All in Italian, but with a short precis in English beforehand. Amazing puppets - with just head and arm movements and music and tone of voice I understood quite a bit though I don't speak much Italian. However - a very blood thirsty, confusing storyline, eight soldiers dead in the first scene! Moors versus Christians. Then into a kidnapping a princess story with a brief appearance by a "bad" Robin Hood kind of character who attempted kidnap but failed, then a "monster" kidnapper with animal face... Then a female knight then a scene with knights joking (my Italian is too poor to get the jokes!).... Fun but mildly confusing. I'd still recommend it to those who like to try something different! Lasts just under an hour.

A really fun production with beautifully made puppets, and despite it being only in Italian, it was quite Shakespearean in terms of content. Lots of dead bodies, spirits, good and bad characters, and well worth it!

It was a real pleasure to watch the puppet show at the puppet theatre in Siracusa, my friend and I were so excited to see that for the first time. Everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail. The puppet dresses were amazing and you can notice that the company is composed by very professional actors who made the show really funny and enjoyable. Highly recommended

It was a wonderful experience — it felt like being a child again for an hour! They are true masters at bringing the puppets to life. Above all, they are doing a great job at keeping traditions alive.

A gem of a more modern history and one you must experience!! Tucked away in a building many centuries old, preserving and preforming a traditional art form that mesmerizes all ages both young and old. The actors/puppeteers are so friendly as you arrive and their performance captivating. Although the show is all Italian , one of the performers presents an overview of the story in English as the opener so you easily understand the story being preformed even if you don’t speak Italian! A UNESCO site and for very good reason! A definite MUST when in this ancient city!

What a fun performance of traditional Sicilian puppetry for young and old. Very professional with elaborate costumes and sets. A brief summary in English prior to the show helped to follow the plot. Be sure to put this on your list of things to do in Ortigia.
