My adult family stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. It isn’t a glitzy hotel, but it was perfect for our stay in San Christobal. It’s small and cosy, the rooms were well decorated and clean. The staff were so so helpful and friendly. We had breakfast everyday at the hotel, whilst not extensive, it was well prepared and delivered with love and care. The hotels location is perfect right in front of the harbour. You can literally walk twenty paces to see sea lions on a beach and iguanas basking on the hat our rocks, I would certainly go back there.

Absolutely delightful! Comfortable room, climate controlled, plenty of hot water, GREAT breakfast and super warm and friendly staff. Location is superb! I would choose this hotel again without question. Strong WiFi works everywhere on the grounds and in room. 2 pool areas, and wine available for purchase in lobby. Plenty of fresh, filtered water available 24/7 in lobby, but also refilled in room too. There is a safe in the room also. VERY clean and comfortable. Pay in advance online- LOVED it!

The best part of this hotel are the employees. The hotel manager assisted us several times to create a wonderful short stay in the Galapagos. Her recommendations worked out perfectly. Breakfast was delicious with your choice of eggs. The location is also fantastic, close to everywhere and easy to walk around to dinner for explore beaches. We weren't sure what to expect but it exceeded our expectations in the way they approach customer service and set expectations.

The service here was above and beyond. Fresh juice on arrival, delicious breakfast in the mornings. The location is perfect. The finches are adorable and we loved the views. Our room was large & cleaned daily. We also used one of the pools and it was surprisingly warm. Perfect for our honeymoon.

We loved our honeymoon stay at Opuntia. The staff was excellent, very friendly, accommodating and helpful. The location is incredible, right on the main boardwalk, beside hundreds of very chatty sea lions and a few loyal pelicans. Breakfast was great every morning, with finches flying around the cactus plants in the breakfast area. It’s kid friendly and has a couple pools. We met other guests and did stand up paddle boarding through the hotel, which was a ton of fun. A couple of things to note for travellers, they take the environment of the island seriously (as they should) so there are some minor inconveniences. The wifi was also quite spotty in some rooms (we moved rooms during our stay - not because of anything negative) but it’s great in the lobby areas. We would highly recommend getting a room with a view of the ocean - it is worth the extra dollars!

We stayed 2 nights at the Opuntia. It is quite cool and quirky. Location was great just by the harbour. We had a room with a sea view and a balcony to the front and a second balcony overlooking pool at the back. There are 2 pools. The room was nice and the buffet breakfast was good. I guess the only criticism was the rooms were a bit tiered and the water was off for a while, but the fixed.

We stayed from 24 June for 3 nights. The accommodation was good however the curtains in our room did not cover the windows therefore affording little privacy from both sides. This was an issue during the evenings when we had lights on so had to switch the lights off in order to change. The issue with the curtains was that the curtain rods did not extend over the openings. Staff were friendly and helpful. The internet in the room was very slow and often did not work.

Lovely hotel on the waterfront with perfect view of the bay, two crystal clear pools, excellent cleanliness, helpful staff, and comfortable rooms. If the sound of barking, groaning, and moaning sea lions is not your thing then: 1). Maybe do not come to the Galapagos; 2). If you do come anyway, perhaps do not stay by the water. 3). Stay at Optunia, close the windows, put on the nice, cool A/C, and sleep like a baby. We loved the cacophony of sea lions and the nice, relaxed feel of the hotel. Free breakfast was okay. Mostly, we loved the view, the elegant stucco and contemporary feel of the architecture, and the central location, close to everything.
