Went on a Wednesday for the $6 seafood n service could have been better. The food was ok and a cool vibe.

Love their Daily Lunch Specials ❗️ Each day, they offer food items that are reasonably priced. Each day, there's also offer a different drink special. Our waitress name was Kola and she was really good. She made us the best house salad. We went on 2$ Tuesday and ordered the lamb chops and tacos. Not bad at all for 2$ each. The lamb chops are the lollipop size, which was perfect for us. They weren't fatty like I expected. I just didn't care for ALL of the zip sauce they drowned them in. I also tried their corn on the cob.. it was good, but it's cooked more for their seafood bags. When I'm ordering a single ear of corn, I would prefer to have an option of regular buttered corn or cajun style. I couldn't get my baked potato to act right, so I just added ranch dressing, salt, and pepper to it and ate it. Their 2$ margaritas were really good; I made it up to 2 total 😂 We'll be going back on Wednesday for their seafood specials.

I was in this establishment last night I go in there a few time a week to eat and I was told by a few guest on how the young lady who manages the place has a poor attitude and it’s not giving .. I took it in but last night I got to experience her she should not be running any place dealing with the public I wonder why it’s always a small group of people in this establishment now I know why bad management the owner should now that this person is going to kill his business . I’m running for state representative in that district . I’m going to contact the owner and have a conversation with him. Let’s stand on business. . We love our black owned businesses in Detroit . Let’s patronize them but do better Opyum !

The food is so good, but the service is horrible 😫 went on Tuesday for tacos and some green tea shots and left after and not receiving either. The male bartender is rude and purposefully makes the waitress wait & almost beg for their drinks although its his job to make them, she took our drink order and we waited almost 20 minutes still no drinks as Im watching 3 bartenders behind the bar intentionally not make them. I brought my girls there as a treat and planned on spending a substantial amount but after not receiving proper service we decided to leave. Just Order carry-out because they do not like to serve here.

Service was horrible. Was not busy was told lamb chops were frozen and we cant order them on $2 lamb chop day. Ordered our food got it an hour later and was cold. Order my steak medium and it was extremely well done. Was given plastic silverware so the meat was overcooked and hard to cut. We also ordered catfish and was told when the rest of the food came out theres no catfish..ordered salmon instead and never got it. Took over 30 minutes to cash out. Drinks were very tiny and overly sweet. Music was wayyyy too loud and super dark in here will not be back!

This place was DEAD. Maybe it was the day I visited but I will NOT be going back here. It looked dark, damp and old. The "cusotmers" looked like tired ex dancers from the 70s. Although there were a few younger people (maybe 6), only one was dancing. Thats another issue. There were only 3 people at the bar and maybe 12 to 15 in the booths. The bartender took over 20 minutes to even acknowledge us. By then I was walking out.....

Waiting an hour and a half for appetizers is ridiculous. Especially when there was no one else in there. Worst way to spend my 51st birthday. I will never go here again. They played games. After waiting that long for our food, we asked to cancel the order so she brings out one appetizer and told us we'll be bumped to the front. Lies. Another 30 minutes passed before she brought out another appetizer. We never got the rest of our food. My sister spoke with management and paid for the 2 items we received. Not to mention the drinks. I asked for a Long Island. I don't know what he gave me. Had a nasty citris taste. Just nasty. No one in my party liked their drinks. A completely awful experience. The only thing good was security. It was tight but that means you'll be safe

ordered takeout and half the menu was unavailable. I was forced to pay $20 gratuity for a $60 TAKEOUT order. I sat at the bar to wait for my food for over over 30 minutes while people who arrived after me where served before me. I ordered a lobster tail that they plainly just did not give me and overall the customer service could use some real improvement.

First time going to Opyum and I will definitely be back! Went for 2 dollar Tuesday and the lamb chops where cooked good I wish their lamb chops were a bit meater but for 2dollars it's a great deal! The last size was massive and you definitely get what your paying for. I didn't have the pasta however it looked good and feeling, I was also told it was really good. The service was a bit slow with getting us our drinks and at the end to pay but our waitress was friendly and made sure to communicate with us. It was times she forgot things but we are all human. I wish I was a little quieter I know it's like a club/lounge but on a Tuesday I wasn't expecting to have to yell to hold conversations with the people I came with. I think a more chill sound would've been perfect for a Tuesday night. Now Thursday -Saturday I expect that as it's a lounge and it's giving lounge vibes from the set up to the dance floor not being huge however I would've liked to hear my friends and the waitress without the need to yell. Overall the I enjoyed and I'll be returning for more lamb chops and to try some other items on their menu!

Went there for soul food dinner I ordered a pork chop dinner with greens and mac. The pork chops were to tough to chew then they gave me plastic wear so I couldn't cut them. The mac was from the box with some cheese melted in between the greens weren't hot but they were tasty! I know it's hot out but if you're gonna serve food then make it correctly please

Every Tuesday they have $2 Tuesdays so lamb-chops, green teas, margaritas, tacos and something else are $2 all day. I order the lamb-chops with three margaritas the minimum is 4 lamb-chops per order . Whatever sauce was out on top of the chops were so good . The margaritas were strong as well. And everything was filling. I'm glad I got to finally make it here for the $2 specials. The inside was nice. There is bar seating ofc and a lot of tables and booths, there is a dance floor as flower wall for picture opportunity. It was only one server at the time. But she was exceptional

Security was on their job with my party but others came in without Security doing their jobs. The prices are overpriced & overrated. For my bill, gratuity was automatically included in my bill. This is my 1st & last time here.

Food was good!! But it was really the service that blew me away. Raven was awesome!! Definitely will be back when she is working.

Do not go to this place!!!!!! Drinks horrible!! They have a so called, " no returning drink" policy, which means you're stuck with a drink if you don't like it. You would have to purchase a shot which is as much as the drink and not a true shot. Unacceptable!!!! Food wasn't that great either. Had the nerve to add gratuity to further the insult!! Said we would get a refund but didn't honor it. Let's sum this up; if you want terrible drinks, terrible service, sub standard food then this is the place for you. Won't receive another penny of our money!!!!! Fact!!!! One star of course because there was no 0 star.

Yesterday was my first time visiting Opyum Lounge, it was daughters birthday. The night started off to great start, first waitress(didn't get her name) was amazing, she made sure i was taken care of (Sat @ the bar) . Now comes the second waitress again didn't get her name her attitude was simply the worse I have experienced in a very long time, I expressed my concerns to one of the managers, He made good on my visit. Will be going back on a Sunday soon !!!!!

Nice fun atmosphere, entertaining servers, good food and great drinks! My visit started by parking in lot adjacent to the building and approaching the side entrance. I was met by security who took a brief look in my bag and a quick frisk of my friend. I'm never put off by this, in fact it makes me feel safer. There was a cute patio area out back for outdoor dining. The interior looked as if it had been remodeled since I had visited last including the big comfy raised booths. The servers were friendly and engaging; giving food and drink recommendations that were right on point. I had one, then two, make it three (yes they were that good) of the bartender's specialty -- the green tea cocktail an eclectic mixture of peach scnapps, jameson whiskey, sour mix and a splash of sprite. Oh yeah! The dinner menu had tons of choices, even an impossible burger for those who desire plant based options. For dinner we went with the grilled turkey chops (can you say delicious?!). I will definitely be stopping into Opyum more often!

Came here on a Saturday night to watch the big fight. Was $20 for guys and I believe $10 for woman. Had bought a booth for $75 that sit 6-8 people. Wasn't really anybody in here until 11:30 and even then it was crowded in here. Good security, wait stuff is interesting and at times don't know what's going on. Not bad but not great. As for food I had the lamb chops and okra. Everything was actually pretty good. Also tried a piece of there turkey chops and few fries....also pretty good. Dance floor is in there (not huge, decent size)and music on this night was ok nothing special. Overall if I'm being honest it's a poor man views although it probably been around longer. A good night can maybe be had here just wouldn't be my first choice.

Stopped in for some lunch recently and was pleased overall with the food & drinks. The waitstaff was attentive and kept making sure we were ok! The fried lobster tails and sautéed spinach with mushrooms was my favorite! I will be back!

I am a foodie. When I tell you the food was good. The food was good. First time being there, I had lamb chops, fried shrimp, cabbage, yams. Everything was cooked to perfection. I will be back tomorrow. Please check them out for yourself. By the way the location I went to was on the East side..

I went in and ordered because no one answer the phone. It was worth the wait! I'm only giving 4 stars because the young lady that waited on me changed the pricing of what I was getting like 2-3 times. My total ended up being $100. Everything was really good. On TUESDAYS they have $2 LAMB CHOPS and open at noon! They are HIRING and looking for help! Do, stop in and give them a try.

The food is ok pack your patience if your in a hurry this place is not for you the customer service girls are awful if not for them I would have stayed! Ghetto is what they are

The drinks aren't right , not sure why. Lamb thin as hell. Very much paying for Don Julio, and receiving a different type of tequila.

Drinks were good and they definitely don't cheat you out your money . The food is top tier worth the wait for it to be fresh!

i was so disappointed with the entire reservation for my birthday there was noooo reservation at all!!! i booked 2 montes ahead only to be igored by the person booking me!! no birthday bottle instead they sent green tea shots!! the manager did try to assist i give her that but the vibe horrible i had to put on a fake happy face to avoid ruining my birthday they they put all our bills on one bill 1 hour was almost spent trying to separate the bill for 15 people smh!!! i will never and i repeat never go there for a birthday again!! i chose this place cause i get food alot there i think ill just stick to pick ups!! dont believe all that stuff about a birthday booking its alll liesssssssssss!

If i could rate this a -0 i would! Why lie on yall flyer saying it's free before 11? When i get there is a $20 fee at the doot! Weird asf, then the booth yall put us at was by the exit door rude asf! On top yall shity waitresses dont know wtf their doing at all! It should not take 40 mins to bring back 2 shots of greentea shots! Be aware they scam u for everything starting at the door!

Love me some Opyum! The salmon is out of this WORLD. Sides always be on point. Definitely recommend.

An organizational debacle of epic proportions. The catastrophe started with online ordering, between TripAdvisor, Facebook and Door dash I couldn't conclude when the restaurant opens Ordering online I chose a 12-30 delivery time based on the lounge opening @ 11:30 Thursday waited by my living room front door for 2 hours for my food and received a text from Door dash @ 12:23 stating that the order was cancelled. I drove to the lounge motivated by their menu items which are plentiful, surprisingly the place was open @ 1:00. The bartender couldn't find my original food order in the computer so we started from scratch. I reordered and sat at the bar for a cocktail, (a no name drink that cost $ 16) I was sort of okay with that because it calmed me. I was flabbergasted though after noticing that I was automatically charged a 30% fee for my food order. Since I tipped the bartender in cash, I asked her for a portion of the cash tip back and gave some to the cook. While patiently waiting for my food I discovered that the Door dash delivery was cancelled because Opyum's kitchen wasn't open when we all thought it would. In retrospect, I'm considering supporting only restaurants that have 5 stars and not settle for any less. As a yelper, I'm ashamed that I didn't acknowledge the many bad reviews therein and saved myself the nightmare that I experienced with Opyum NO ONE along the way offered an apology for it Even if the food is good, I WILL NOT REVISIT OL PS: I wasn't in the mood to take pic's of the food

The food was really good. I had lobster and lamb chops. Everything was seasoned well and cooked to my liking. The service is mediocre. It wasn't really busy when I got there and ordered but still I found myself waiting for my for over an hours. Thank goodness I wasn't starving or super pressed for time, but it was still pretty aggravating. Although the doos was good it wasn't worth an hour plus wait. That's actually pretty frustrating. Also no one even checked back with us to let us know how long. They never came back to the table until the food. This place is cool for drinks and the club scene but as far as service for food, etc. I wasn't impressed with the experience overall.

Ask for manager hr ago she never came to our table but walked passed it numerous of times. We ordered lamb chops 30 minutes later we Out, no yams, no Corona well damn what do yall have. They have $3 turkey chops on menu tells us its a mis-print. Horrible sevice. Been here since 7:15 only 1person from a group of 10 just got their food. Manager still haven't cone to our table. This lounge claims to have a free booth and a free bottle for any occasion but it's not true. The manager named kira that I talked to tonight on 9/29/2023 at 8:45 p.m. said that the host of the party gets a table and they would have to buy a bottle to get a booth or pay $75 to get a booth.

The ABSOLUTE WORST customer service of all time. Frankly I'm not even sure HOW to rate this whole-in-wall joint! I do not recall ever encountering such unprofessional, ignorant behavior from an establishment I'm patronizing. I planned a DoorDash order for two meals; a salmon and friend catfish; I receive a call a male employee of Opyum Lounge staring that they ran out of the catfish due to a high volume sales day. He prompted me to immediately cancel the order on my end but I informed him that I was not interested in cancelling and I would simply chose a replacement for the catfish. Obviously that did not sit well with him because every alternative order I requested he said they were also sold out of the item; at that point I said okay I totally understand (so very politely) and I asked him to cancel the order. Instead I was hung-up on by the employee. My husband called back from his phone and tried discussing our order and he was also hung-up on mid sentence. We made a third attempt to call back and the restaurant refused to answer the phone. My husband made another attempt from a local number which was answered but once they were aware it was related to my DoorDash order we were hung-up again. I completely understand a menu item not being available; however, what I will not excuse is the ignorant disrespectful behavior of the staff. I'm not sure if they were preparing to close for the evening or if the restaurant was busy, either way there is absolutely NO excuse for the disregard and the refusal to refund my entire order. It's important to understand that Opyum Lounge had already accepted my order and released it on DoorDash as preparing for delivery so I was NOT able to simply cancel the order on my end, and this was confirmed by DoorDash. I had to reach out to DoorDash Delivery Help who attempted to call the restaurant with no success (the calls were not answered); in the end DoorDash was more than happy to refund my entire order and give me a credit for the trouble.

I was given a BEEF BURGER and haven't ate meat in 7 years! I ordered a veggie burger and the manager didn't comp the bill or anything. They kept saying it's a beyond burger and claim to remake it. IT WAS PINK ON THE INSIDE! DO NOT EAT HERE! The manager was not helpful and very rude!

The drinks were watered down, the gratuity was a bit much for the service. My bill should have been 44$ I purchased 4 drinks for 11$ each but my bill was 63$ . The bartender tried to argue with my friend that our bill was correct. Needless to say, I will not be back!

I ordered one of the seafood bags, and it was delicious. I was shocked however to get a hot dog instead of sausage. Andouille sausage would have been perfect (just a suggestion). This won't stop me from ordering again though!

I love opyum!!! Great food and drinks and service!!!!!!!!! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I went on a first date @ Opyum and it was no customers in there which was nice so we had the whole place to ourselves but what impressed me the most was the young lady who served us she was amazing and so was the service and the food was excellent I'm going back today just because of the service and the food thank you once again for your great service

This place is a JOKE. The food is just ok. They serve you seafood w Popcorn Butter. The wait staff are RUDE & unladylike. It's like they are intimidated by a table full of women. My table was skipped by multiple waitresses & even told by one tall light skinned w braids "it's whoever comes and takes your table" and she proceeded to walk away. Never asked if we needed help. Waited over an hour for a damn drink; Hour and a half for food I do not recommend. Stay far away. Not even worth the one star honestly.

I mean I wish I could give it 0 stars. For one I park on a Thursday night to meet a friend there from out of town. I get there about 1am and I tell u it's NOBODY in the parking lot and the security guard chose to tell me after I park WE STILL CHARGING and he said it as if I was broke. So I go in and he search me and tell me 30 dollars. I look and laugh and said absolutely TF not. If u charging that type of money for 30-45 min of action which I wasn't there for u better have a party going. It wasn't. It was 5 ppl there not including workers. I goto the bar and the skinny white girl was super rude that I couldn't even muster up enough courage to even tip her for the 2 drinks I bought. The light skin waitress was nice tho but yeah idk why my friend chose to go here for food but I wouldn't recommend. I actually forgot this place existed and I see why I haven't been in years and I'm never going back.

Wish I could've gave them 0 stars the customer service is awful... The manager name is Sam and she's an angry black woman who can't work under pressur. very rude and lots of attitude. I paid 20 to get in, after being told 10 on the phone just 5 minutes before. Then took over an hour with no drinks ( including water) or food that was previously ordered. After trying to speak with Sam she gage me a hand and mouth full of attitude and stated they were short on staff. Also never returned and had the entire staff being rude this was by far the worst experience and while trying to celebrate a birthday. I have worked in customer service and am a business owner. This is unacceptable!

I bought the $25 seafood boil bag through doordash on May 1st and while the food was amazing my experience is why I'm giving this place 2 stars. You walk in and the workers are just sitting there on their phone. They'll even look up at you but won't acknowledge you until they feel like it. They're very unprofessional and rude. My order wasn't ready yet and they told me to go outside to wait and that they'd let me know when it was ready. 30 minutes passed and I went back in. I was given attitude for not waiting until they came and got me. I waited inside for another 5 minutes until they asked me for my name again and the whole time my food was sitting on the booth... the woman handed me it saying "here" and sat back down on her phone. Please hire nicer, more professional servers/greeters. Because the food is amazing, just not the service...

Everytime I have been it has been awful. The dance floor is duct taped down. The waitresses ignore clientele. I have been three times, placed a food order each time, and waited over an hour each time. Food never arrives. I make the wait staff aware, they walk toward the kitchen and speak to each other, food never arrives. The atmopshere isn't terrible but dear God, the service is awful. Music is dated but okay for an older crowd. My coworkers swear by this place.....methinks that if/when you become a regular the service improves....but I won't be back again to find out. Also, check the Google reviews. The "owner" is the least professional person I have ever seen representing a business online.

I advise that if you are planning on going to this establishment that you use cash. I went there last night and just before I went to sleep someone (I'm assuming one of the wait staff) tries to manually enter my card info to make a $25 purchase. I know that I didn't make the purchase (1) I never go to gas stations I'm not familiar with (2) I got gas cigarettes etc before I came so there wasn't anything worth stopping for ....be wise if you do CHECK YOUR RECENT TRANSACTIONS

Went there yesterday (Friday 3/22/19) about 7pm. The music was slappin but service was terrible. I sat at the bar and although the bartender was cool, I left after waiting for my food for 1 1/2 hours I left. Also, if you your debit/ credit card it is a 4% up charge. Needless to say never I will never return. Not to mention they charge $10 to park. Never Again

My experience at the Opyum was absolutely terrible. I paid $100 for a booth for nothing. The lady at the door was rude asf. The waitresses were rude. My food was burnt. It was a waste of money. I will NEVER EVER go back to that ghetto ass hole in the wall

I had been looking for an all you can eat crab place and seen a FB post about this place then I read the reviews and was a little hesitant about going. I will say this the staff is friendly everyone I came in contact with, the food is excellent especially the chicken wings, crab legs are on point. We were served with a smile our food came out fast even the reorders I will be back. Good environment good people good service most importantly

Wish I could give no stars!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! They advertise booth and a bottle for free on a birthday. Lies. Once you arrive they say they don't give your bottle until 11-12pm. Lies. I had to beg the manager for our bottle. She insisted we take it home. My brother's gf, who threw the party, intended for the bottle to be shared with all her guests, not be taken home. The manager was extremely rude and unaccomodating, while I was nothing but polite. Apparently afterwards she had some terrible "breakdown" (so I was told by other guests of our party) based on my conversation with her and had the bouncers throw me out. I was thrown out in the most inappropriate and unprofessional manner in which to deal with or speak to a woman, let alone a customer. I'll never return to this establishment nor do I recommend anyone else patronize it either. Additionally, I've read each and every comment made about this place on google, as well as all of the replies made by the owner...it appears to me in many of the responses, he or she has as little concern for the reputation of this place as it's careless employees do. Truly a shame! This place needs to be reported to the better business bureau and further upwards in the chain of commercial command of our economy. The obstinacy and disgrace shown towards their patrons is egregious. Seriously!

OK so clearly there was a review made that was a mistake. I give this bar 5 stars for multiple reasons, the food is delicious, and the drinks are definitely on point, what else do you need in a bar, there is parking that is monitored, the have some of the most beautiful bar staff. I've been going here since they opened. I personally go early in the day because I'm not a big fan of crowds. I have absolutely no complaints on this spot. I've watched this bar transform over the years. This place rocks!

I love this place it was my first experience there I had a lot of fun. Love the music and how they play a lot of the Detroit Artists. Love when you call them they call you back right away a lot of places takes 2 to 3 days to get back to you. And I felt really safe Security did a excellent job. If you want to have fun Opyum Lounge is the place to go. And I don't go out much but Opyum change that for me. Please Check them out you want regret it

Let me say this, the food... HONEY THAT FOOD. D to the E to the LICIOUS! Oh my goodness it was so good. Hot, fresh, lawwwwd. Come on Friday's for the 5 dollar special. But the service... eh. They could do way better. The server took so long with the checks, and forgot what we ordered like 5 times. If it weren't for the food it would be 1 Star. But that food. Lord

I've ordered door dash from here a couple times, each time the order has taken more than two hours, I feel bad for the dasher waiting to pick up the order. Both times when the food finally arrived the order was incorrect. I ordered the pork chop dinner it was only one pork chop when it comes with two and missing the side. The seafood bag was 45 dollars and missing the lobster tail and king crab leg... I tried to support one more time tonight, I ordered at 7:30 and it's 9:38 and still no order.. I won't be ordering again...

Terrible service and the lamb chops were burnt and nasty took 15 minutes to get my change after I paid never would I eat here again customer service is really really really bad ‍‍

This place is terrible now. I used to go here a couple years back and it was cool. Now they want to charge $20-$30 to get in and it's not worth it. You have to wait an hour plus to get food and it's about a 15-30 minute wait to get a drink. If you excuse the small dance floor and bad service maybe you can have a good time here.

Horrible!!! Only 1 available cook waitress provided horrible service. Me and my friend sat from 7:48p until 9:03 with a water and water down drink. Once, the waitress decided to come back to the table I ordered a second drink with no ice and, long & behold she brings another drink with more ice than the first drink. At this point we're beyond hungry and irritable and just decided to get our money back! So to the owner of this establishment you need to come and own your business!!!

Area reserved for 2am and no one ever came. Wow!!! Seating limited, expensive drinks to sit in a hard barstool. Food was A-5 if there is such rating. Barmaidswere cool though that's the 1 star.

From the reviews i expected the absolute worst but the food and service was amazing i stopped in for lunch and what can i say i wasn't disappointed the place was clean the music was jamming and i was out within 15 minutes don't knock this place until you give it a chance !!! I will be back
