Alegra Boutique Hotel, a Design Boutique Hotel Jerusalem, Israel

"Located in Ein Kerem village, Alegra Boutique Hotel is 200 metres from the Church of the Visitation. It offers a gourmet restaurant, a sauna in its fruit orchard, and luxurious suites with exposed-stone walls. With Persian rugs and contemporary bathrooms, the suites at the Alegra are a mix of old and new. Each is uniquely decorated and comes with air conditioning, satellite TV and a tea/coffee maker. A daily Israeli breakfast is provided, including homemade bread, omelette and salad. The restaurant has an open kitchen and serves a generous dinner of up to 8 courses. Housed in an Arabesque building dating from 1850, the property has original artwork in public areas. There is an outdoor pool, and massage treatments are also available. The Old City of Jerusalem is 9 km from the hotel. The Yad Vashem Memorial is a 10-minute drive away." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

"Mixing old and new is standard practice in the sphere of boutique-hotel design. But the concept takes on new dimension at Alegra Boutique Hotel. This is a place that’s old — not just because it’s in Jerusalem, one of the oldest cities in the world, but because it’s located in Ein Kerem, one of the oldest sections of the metropolitan area. And the idea of a boutique hotel is a new one around here. Several hotels in Jerusalem call themselves boutiques, but Alegra Boutique Hotel is one of the first in Jerusalem with a legitimate claim." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed at Allegra Boutique Hotel for three nights on a family getaway. There were 15 of us, with some arriving later or leaving earlier, and everything was handled smoothly. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and always quick to help with anything we needed. The hotel is tucked away at the end of a small alley in Ein Kerem, set in a beautifully renovated historic building that keeps its original charm while offering all the comfort you’d expect from a boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and each one is unique. The hotel features a lovely terraced garden with shaded seating areas, as well as a spacious rooftop with great views of the church and the surrounding area. Breakfast is generous and varied, with a buffet plus made-to-order eggs and fresh focaccia straight from the oven. Allegra is a small, special hotel and we had a wonderful stay. Parking may be a problem on weekends.

My husband, two friends and I arrived in Israel for what was a planned vacation, only three hours after the war started on October 7th. We tried to leave the country right away from the TLV airport, but were unable to, and then threats were being made on the airport. We decided to drive to Alegra Hotel, which we had booked in Jerusalem for that evening. Amir greeted us upon arrival and could not have taken better care of us. He was a model of hospitality. He calmly showed us the bomb shelter and provided us with other pertinent emergency information. He told us that Jerusalem would be a safe place to be. He helped us to our rooms, and then opened up his kitchen to us, since we hadn't eaten in several hours. He opened up drawers and showed us where they kept cheese, vegetables and eggs, showed us how the stove worked, told us we could help ourselves to drinks, really anything you would want in a situation like that. He made sure we had Wifi so that we could work on getting back home, showed us how to lock all of the doors, and made sure we had everything we needed. We will never forget his hospitality, graciousness and calm under pressure. Beyond that, the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and is just what you see online. The grounds are lovely and there is a beautiful and serene courtyard and rooftop with a great view. The rooms were clean, pretty, well-stocked and very comfortable. Our room had large windows with plenty of natural light. The neighborhood itself is really nice as well, you're just outside of Jerusalem proper, and it's lovely with restaurants and its own attractions. It was about 15 minutes away from downtown Jerusalem. If this is how they treat guests in circumstances such as ours, we can't imagine the experience without the tragedy of war. Thanks again Amir, we will never forget you!

Me and my wife took this hotel for our pre wedding pictures and to stay the night after our wedding. The hotel is really quite and has a nice chill vibe to it, It is so so beautiful and peaceful. We had a bit of a problem with some of the staff, first I need to say that most of the staff is really nice and patient, But there was some staff members that made us feel bad that there are people coming to help us get ready for our photo shot ( I called and set everything with the hotel before our stay ) and it was really uncomfortable.

We stayed here for a romantic get away and it couldn't have been more perfect. The room was super clean and very comfortable with a snack, wine and coffee waiting for us. The entire place is a stylish combination of modern comfort meets old Ein Karem. The garden with fish pond and splashing water invites to relax and one can use the wet/dry saunas and the little pool. Especially the grape covered roof top with an amazing view over the village is a must to enjoy with a glass of wine. The rich and fresh Israeli breakfast was also delicious and is served where ever you decide to sit. The stuff was most outstanding, helpful and super nice. They went way and beyond to make us feel at home and cared for from the first to the last moment. We'll definitely come back.

Small lovely and cozy hotel with nice garden, a tiny swimming pool and a roof terrace overlooking the village. We had a very nice and clean room. We enjoyed the home cooked food for breakfast and the evening meal which was delicious. Everything tasted so good and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. If you have a car, this hotel is great for visiting Jerusalem Old City. There is a 15 min drive to the Mamila parking, which is located right in front of Jaffa Gate.

We made the reservation a month in advance, with a lot anticipation for our coming vacation. The room at first was very different from what we saw on the website, apparently if you wish for a specific room from a certain category you need to mention the right room number (apparently the rooms in the same category are very different from one to another) as told to us by the reception after already arriving. We stayed 2 nights and ordered breakfast. The service was given by amateurs if not even less. We waited 30 minutes, and nobody approached us, even after telling the reception that we are sitting outside. It took forever to get drinks, and I’m not even talking a bout the food. You pay so much money per night and need to squeeze the oranges for a glass of orange juice by your self. The hotel is managed by kids/ amateurs who knows nothing of service quality or standards. It’s too bad because the hotel has the potential of been a great hotel. I would give it 3 stars instead 5 due too the poor service and other issues with the room.

Lovely hotel. Clean and spacy and well heated rooms. Only 14 rooms so no noisey kids. The staff were very courteous and friendly.|Breakfast is excellent, tea and coffee are available all day, as well as fresh fruit and hot soup in the evenings.|Parking is not available, but there is a parking lot about five minutes away.|The only thing missing was a mirror over the sink.
