Desert shade. Let's start with the good - the view is incredible, the lobby is beautiful and the facilities are clean.
Unfortunately, the service we received was rude and unwelcoming - the worst we’ve ever received at a hotel. We arrived earlier than check-in time and were coldly told by the owner to come back later and not to walk around the property (at most hotels, coming earlier than check in means the room isn't ready, but guests are free to hangout).
We came back at the check-in time, which was a very long process. The owner rudely demanded we show a physical passport + an Israel tourist permit (blue ticket) in order to not pay Israeli resident tax fees. No where in the booking process were we told that a passport + permit was required to check in. Eventually a photo of the passport was accepted + one of the group members luckily had their blue paper, but overall experience was unwelcoming and rude.
My group had a friend with us who we were hoping could join as for dinner (sit at an outdoor picnic table with us). The owner angrily told us she was not allowed anywhere on the property and had to leave, or be charged as a full guest staying the night. The policy is very strict, but was also communicated to us in a very rude way.
For their accommodations, amenities of what we thought we would have access to we didn’t. They had one person working during the evening, and general supplies were limited. As expected there was a shared kitchen, so we bought groceries, but they didn’t have any fridges so be aware of that. Come prepared with your own supplies or you will have to buy/rent from them. Breakfast was not as expected, but the view and being in Mitzpe Ramon, was great! Overall, nice facility but it was unfortunate to feel unwelcome
