Orchard Hotel Singapore

The room was spacious and clean, providing a comfortable environment throughout my stay. Additionally, the breakfast offered a variety of delicious options, which we thoroughly enjoyed.||However, we encountered a few issues during my visit. Firstly, the air conditioning in my room was not functioning properly, making it difficult to regulate the temperature and resulting in some discomfort. Secondly, the cold water tap in the bathroom was loose, which made it difficult to use. Additionally, the cafe was crowded, and it seemed like there weren’t enough staff to handle the demand, leading to delays in service.||Overall, while there were some issues that affected our stay, the positive aspects of the hotel still shine through.

Wonderful hotel in perfect location. We stayed for 6 nights during cny period and absolutely loved the festive feel around the hotel. The hotel was very busy and at capacity, so most mornings there were large queues for breakfast but we didn't wait long. Staff at breakfast were running around and visibly working very hard while still offering Wonderful service and smiles. Variety at breakfast was great with lots of options, lovely presentation and good quality.|We also had a nice cny seafood buffet dinner which we booked in advance.|The hotel had a fun lion dance performance which all the hotel staff came out to celebrate.|The pool was also clean and a pleasure to use after a long hot day. Our room was modern and spacious and the hotel location was in front of orchard road few minutes walk to ION.

Hotel is located in Orchard Road and convenient gor shops and metro/bus. Room is comfortable. Mr Surya is assigned to clean the room snd did a wonderful job. |Beds are clean and all facilities are good! Highly recommended! |—Sankara N Thiagarajan

Very friendly staff, the clean room and general are. Nice big open pool with jacuzzi. Nice bar and restaurant inside. Very nice breakfast, launch and dinner. Nice gym with all equipment. Strongly recommend for staying in Singapore. Good location very near shopping center.

Stayed here for business and found the room is nice although clearly it has been quite dated, can feel this feeling since the entrance and lobby. Clean bathroom and comfy bed is what I need. But I got disturbed when the hotel wanted to charge $5 for ice cubes, something I never encountered. Location is great, short walk to Orchard, and Botanical garden. Gym is there but small, pool is nicer, literally not much area when you got kids, lucky i don’t have my family coming along. Breakfast can be busy so be mindful when you are in a rush, decent quality though. I saw tourist bus come and also airline crews, good business for this hotel is not cheap.

Excellent staff service and great , spacious rooms. The variety and quality of the breakfast offered in the hotel is superb. Location is very convenient- right on Orchard road and hotel has internal passage to the nearby cold storage supermarket to allow a shop for snacks etc without need to get out in the heat. Only slight downside (and reason for a 4 instead of 5 stars scoring on the room) is some minor maintenance (loose power point and section of bubbling wall paper in the room) requiring attention. Will definitely be back again.

Very much enjoyed my stay here. Staff are super helpful and accommodating. Love the jazz bar and the breakfast buffet. Room was clean and the king bed was super comfy! I appreciated the regular top ups of bottled water every day - a must with all this humidity. Check in time did take a while, understandable with such a busy hotel. I think the online check in feature could be improved to reduce wait times, but otherwise very satisfied.

Never again!!! Worst customer service!!! Booked 2 rooms for 12 hrs day stay while transiting in singapore. When arrived at the hotel for check in, they only had 2 staff at concierge and about 5 guests queued up!!!! Shockingly i had to wait nearly 40 minutes before i got to the service desk YES 40 MINUTES TO PROCESS 5 GUESTS FOLKS and nearly another 15 minutes for checking in procedure 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 Hotel lobby had few chairs which were occupied. Our kids were exhausted waiting as we had just come off an overnight flight. They finally ended up sleeping on the floor during whole “checking in process”. There was another staff who would pop in every now and then at the desk from behind concierge, but he wouldn’t help any of us for faster check in process. One lady staff asked us if we were checking out and mentioned that we could do it automatically but walked away saying “you have to wait” when I mentioned we were checking in. Staff helping guests at concierge weren’t also very confident as they were consulting each other every now and then with the procedure. I wish they would invest in staffing than decoration and branding!!! Also rooms were also very average for the price they chatged us!!!! Oh well never going back to that place again!!!!

Great hotel with a very convenient location We stayed in a signature level room which has an printed style. Very comfortable and the curtains and patterned wallpaper made it feel more special and more tasteful than the usual bland decor. Breakfast buffet was extensive with every Asian and western cuisine you could think of. Great stay.

I always stay here when in Singapore. It sits atop my favorite Irish pub, Muddy Murphy's, making the commute "home" easy and safe (or maybe just safe, lol) after some drinks. I was disappointed when checking in because the clerk was unfriendly and unpleasant - or maybe just unhappy.

So the hotel is a little old but they are renovating. The rooms are really clean and the bed and pillows super comfy. The waterfalls showers are amazing and I love the way I feel after. Breakfast has so many options and you can just get lost. Staff is super friendly and always willing to help. Overall great stay but it's a little older

Hotel is very popular and next door to the infamous Orchard Towers. It's a 15 min walk to the nearest MRT station but a bus stop is right outside. Cold storage is nearby for supplies. The breakfast buffet here is acceptable but warning about long lines on the weekends. My room was 14 floor away from the road and elevator. Room was comfortable but humid. There was an old musty smell that lingered and it wasn't me. Hot water would come and go. Some plug outlets didn't work and were inconveniently placed. Overall it's a mid grade average hotel. I think the food quality is good and it is a very popular hotel, esp for business and clearly, ladies of the night. Would I stay here again? I prefer not. Rooms are in need of renovation.

Orchard hotel was just okay, I wasn't too impressed. I had a little higher expectations. The rooms look a little older, but you would never be able to tell from the outside. I think the staff was pretty nice, they even re-accomodated me after I told them about some problems with the original room they checked me into. The first room had a some sort of sound that drove me nuts, I think it was on 19th floor. There was also a strong odor, smelled like curry. The bathroom wasn't really appealing to me either looked like there it was heavily used. The remote for the tv not working was the last straw for me. I'm usually passive on small things, but when the manager checked up on me and I mentioned it to him, he offered to change the room for me and it made me feel a lot better about my stay. Seems like he knew there were problems, but yet they still checked me into that room... -_- The second room was a lot better, but I was still very apprehensive since the first impressions are everything. But in the end everything ended up okay, and my stay wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The gym and pool are really nice :-) Location is great too! Would I stay here again? probably not. it is a nice spot if you are on a budget. You might be lucky and get one of their newer rooms too. Also what I didn't know was its next to the Orchards red light district and Orchard tower. You won't notice during the day. I was oblivious until the very last day when I went walking around for dinner.

Convenient hotel on Orchard Rd. We took the 36 bus from the airport which came pretty quickly each time we needed it. Hotel offered free wifi and the range was pretty good, even when outside of the hotel. Smoking section located right outside as well. The pool is pretty big located on the 4th floor. The gym is pretty tiny though. The Orchard tower is located right across from the hotel , and looks a little shady in the late night hours. Proceed with caution. Overall friendly hotel staff, even left my cousin a cake in our room for his birthday.

A quick stop over in Singapore Nd stay at the Orchard on the way to Europe. OK accommodation for one night. Although, I would explore finer options for a longer stay. I'm travelling with my mum and the request for two single beds somehow went missing. We were offered an 'upgrade' with a lounge room and sofa bed as an alternative. Although we were informed no additional bedding was available (a quilt that was barely dry was finally produced). All up, it was fine for a single night. The late checkout was appreciated. A great location proximate to Orchard Rd. I miss you Shangri-La, just down the road!

I enjoyed my stay here although there were some hiccups with some arrangements. We arrived to Singapore late at night and the hotel had arranged for our pickup. When we got to the hotel, the driver demanded that we pay her although we were told that everything was going to be billed to the hotel. As we were checking in, the only option for rooms was a double bed which I did not want. My reservations specifically said king bed. Aside from those things, I liked the rooms and the breakfast buffet. There was a variety of food to pick from and they refilled the things quick. One thing that I didn't like was the bathroom. It was small and the bathtubs were so high that it was hard getting in and not slipping. On the weekends, it's difficult trying to catch a taxi from the entrance of the hotel.

Normally when I make my business trips to Singapore I stay at a nearby luxury hotel. This time I decided to try something different and stay at the Orchard Hotel. Over all my experience was just slightly disappointing. most of this is due to the fact that there is an extreme amount of construction going on at the hotel, which made for a lot of noise and inconvenience. The location of the hotel is hands-down fantastic and one of the best qualities of this hotel. It is connected to a small shopping mall which had multiple food options, and is located in the heart of the shopping area of Singapore. The breakfast at this hotel is actually quite disappointing. while there were a few good options for the most part it's relatively unimaginative and quite small compared to some of the other hotels in the area. this could have been due to the construction since the cafeteria seems to be in a temporary spot. The room was fairly basic and the view not so good. The rooms were actually clean and the amenities were fine for a hotel, nothing out of the ordinary. Probably the biggest reason for me giving this hotel only three stars is the welcoming experience. I arrived early for my check in and was given access to a public guest room where you can freshen up and change clothes. The room was actually quite messy with wet towels all over the place with the shower overly wet and dirty washcloth on the floor and hanging from the shower faucet. I will likely not return to this hotel and try something different in the area.

Dinner at Orchard Cafe: what a spread of dishes. Love the oysters and lobsters and Alaskan crab legs. Prawns, shells, muscles too. Local dishes galore, Sushi tuna, octopus and salmon sliced infront of Yiu. Desserts to die for, also included. All you can coffee, expresso, teas... Overall great value for your money.

Years ago in 2005 I came here as it was cheaper than the official hotel for the conference that brought me to Singapore. I remember walking in, going to the front desk and the woman saying "Hello sir, how are you todo?" "Good, how's your day been?" "Pretty bleak sir." Which generally summed up this hotel. In 2005 it was under half renovation. They put me in a bad room. I had to ask to be moved. And I got an amazing room. Just the other day, a friend of mine tells me to meet him here. The lobby looks shiny, more so than I remember. There's *still* a bunch of construction all around. I tell my friend that when I was here almost 10 years back the place was under massive renovation. He said "ya...i think its still the same project." Why the good review then? Good to know some things never change.

I did indeed stay here again and echo all my previous comments. I do note that the breakfast buffet can be extremely crowded and noisy at times, but the selection is very good.

For pictures and full reviews, visit my blog! The hotel underwent a full refurbishment in their Claymore Wing back in end 2011. The rooms are elegantly decorated with grey, white and brown pieces. Lovely king size bed that was great to roll around on and possibly have a pillow fight with the 10 different types of pillows on their pillow menu. I do feel quite like the princess in my pillowy fortress (yes i built myself one). Each room boasts sleek audio and visual equipment which include: iPhone and iPod connectivity adaptive radio (doesn't work for iPhone5). You could easily link your laptop to the 40" TV which would be helpful considering the lack of good cable channels in the room. :( Where's TLC and AXN when you need them right? The bathroom features a drop-in shower stall and sunken long bath which came without bubble bath (i forgot to bring mine boo). Nice touch with the loofah mitts and mouthwash though. And the sweet scent of lilies in the room (happens to be my favorite too)! Orchard Hotel may not be the best place for a staycation as there is really nothing much to do around the hotel other than shopping at Orchard Road. The general environment also made me feel like i'm in a Bangkok hotel but i must say that the new rooms are really comfortable and equivalent of some 4-5* chains. Nevertheless, it makes a good place dinner, be it the seafood buffet at Orchard Cafe or at the award winning Hua Ting. For tourists who want to be right in the action of town, this mid range hotel will show you a side of Orchard Road that you never expect (interesting nightlife just right next tower). The Thai Club (Aura) at the basement seems quite exciting as well. J has plans for some hen party already (i hope it's not mine). The lobby and connecting shopping arcade did reminded me of some Bangkok hotels.

2.5 stars We came here on our Honeymoon. First word of advice, don't go to Singapore on your Honeymoon. That being said, this hotel was a great location near the shopping and dining district of Orchard Rd. What we did not like was that it is basically a business hotel, but they charge $20 a day for WiFi in the room. You can use the wifi in the lobby, but it is a pain. They were doing some construction and had safety tests where a loudspeaker blasted information a couple times a day, inside your room. Singapore is a very safe place, but they still make you use your keycard to operate the elevators as well. The breakfast was OK, but not a good hotel for couples.

Got a makeover now the pool area is nicer but the small gym got even smaller. Fine for indoor cardio but not to workout. Too bad :-/ The rooms are small but okay, staff is super friendly and kind. If you can book an upgrade it is even better. Lots of free food and drinks :)
