The area is filled with modern malls, luxury boutiques, and a wide variety of restaurants and cafes. It’s also very clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate with public transportation. Whether you’re looking to shop, dine, or just enjoy the city’s lively atmosphere, Orchard Road offers an unforgettable experience for both tourists and locals

Luxury shopping mall with a wide variety of stores — you can find almost anything you need here. Naturally, prices are on the higher side. Conveniently accessible via Orchard MRT. The Apple Store stands out with its stunning design. I would definitely come back again.

Walking alone the city of Singapore where people are very respectful and responsible. You cannot see a single garbage on the street. It blown my mind how clean and organized Singapore is.

Orchard Road is truly a shopper’s paradise and so much more than just a street lined with malls. I didn’t go there for major shopping, but I really enjoyed walking around, exploring the unique architecture of each shopping complex, and taking lots of photos. Every mall has its own personality—ION Orchard looks super futuristic, Paragon feels upscale and elegant, and 313@Somerset has a younger, trendier vibe. The buildings themselves are quite photogenic, especially if you love capturing modern urban design. Even just window shopping was fun! The whole area is clean, lively, and well-organized. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can take a break, and the sidewalks are wide and shaded with trees, which makes walking more comfortable, even on a sunny day. If you’re into architecture or street photography, Orchard Road offers plenty of great angles—especially in the evening when everything lights up. It’s a great place to experience a different side of Singapore: stylish, energetic, and full of life. Definitely worth visiting, even if you're not planning a shopping spree!

Must visit place in Singapore. Specially in the Christmas time. Very well decorated. All the malls have eateries and food courts and the vibe of the street is festive.

Superb atmosphere! It was very nice to walk along the road and see the city centre of Singapore

Yelp
We went to Singapore for the first time last month and spent an hour walking on Orchard Road, taking in the oversized extravagance of all those stores and malls. The street was huge and impressive, like Rodeo or Fifth Avenue but on a crazy rich Asian scale. We were there on a hot Saturday in mid-November, but the whole street was done up for Christmas, with lights and decorations and a constant stream of Christmas music. It was about as festive a public set-up as I've ever seen, and it went on for the entire long stretch of Orchard Road. There was a 14-meter Mastercard Christmas tree, as well as several others, including the red and white Giorgio Armani-branded tree in the Takashimaya department store. Everything was proudly, exuberantly over the top. There were a lot of people out, and the atmosphere was lively. I really enjoyed our walk, and can see how we might have spent a whole day on Orchard Road if we'd been looking to shop. I can't imagine a better destination if your goal is to drop serious money. Every luxury brand was represented, some of them several times. Even if you're not a big spender, Orchard Road is worth a leisurely visit. It's an iconic street and a vibrant destination, and the walk is both fun and free.

Yelp
Orchard Road is such a great place to visit. The shopping options are endless, with everything from high-end brands to more affordable finds. I loved how clean and organized the area is, and there's always something interesting to see or do. It can get busy, but it's all part of the energy. Definitely worth a stroll if you're in Singapore!

Yelp
A jaw-dropping mecca in Singapore for shoppers and tourists alike. In need of anything? You got it right here on this sublime street of shopping. Louis Vuitton mixed with Uniqlo mixed with Daiso mixed with... just about anything. Ice cream? Sure. Cigars. They got ya. A diamond ring? Something with SINGAPORE stamped on it to remind you you were once here? And sooooooo many places to eat.
google avatar

Yelp
Visited for the first time on 08/03/24. This place is very touristy because it is a place where you can shop and window shop - tons and tons of high-end, luxury stores. Think of this place like Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive.

Yelp
The Mecca of shopping in Singapore. A two km stretch of all the possible brands you can imagine. You can easily spend a few days if u like shopping. The best malls in the stretch are ION and Paragon. Some hidden gem restaurants are also there behind center point if you wander there.

Yelp
Came by the other day and it reminded me of Super Mario Bros on Nintendo. There are tons of malls everywhere and one can easily get lost inside any mall for hours at a time. There is always an outdoor option that will be sticky and humid... Orchard Road is a shopper's paradise as every price point is captured from low end malls like Lucky Plaza to world class malls like Ion Orchard. The MRT station is connected to Ion Orchard. There are also numerous signs along Orchard road prohibiting sitting on steps... On the flip side, it is hard to find a place to sit in Singapore, without paying for one at a restaurant or coffee shop...

Yelp
"SHOP UNTIL YOU DROP" They come to Singapore by the millions to shop. No other city in the world has a higher density of shopping malls as on Orchard Road. Is a week's time sufficient time to comb through all the malls ? I really seriously doubt it. Each and every Christmas the Singaporeans welcomes the holidays in an unbelievable spectacular fashion. Without doubt substantially out doing any city on the Western hemisphere. The clichè "shop until you drop" means you must had just spent considerable time on Orchard Road. It's a shopper's experience of a lifetime.

Yelp
Looking to escape the humidity and drop a few grand? Look no further than Orchard Road. Whether it's Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier, Louis Vuitton or Prada, you can pretty much find it inside this sprawling shopping behemoth. Or if you're like me, head straight to the food court to snag some tasty coconut cakes filled with peanut butter (for about $3). Clearly, you know my priorities. Orchard Road is almost entirely dedicated to shopping. If you're looking for a specific store, well, good luck. I spent a good 45 minutes searching for the Japanese department store Takashimaya with zero luck. And let me add, I had a map and asked 5 different people for directions. To put it in perspective, the Far East Plaza shopping center alone has over 800 stores over six floors. And that's just one complex out of around 30 shopping centers. Now you can see how we got so lost. This place gives a whole new meaning of shop till you drop. And is the perfect spot to visit to live out your Crazy Rich Asians fashion dreams. Most of the stores close around 9 PM. But there are several restaurants and markets open 24 hours a day in the area as well as movie theaters that are open late.

Yelp
"Midosuji" in Osaka. "Champs Elysees" in France. I think this is the street in Singapore.

Yelp
Orchard Road was just a few minutes away from my hotel. Because of the proximity, I made it my first stop in Singapore. I thought I would spend max five hours here but I ended up spending around 8! Even when I just quickly browsed most of the stores! Orchard Road is definitely a very lively place to be especially on the weekends when the domestic workers have off. You can find them chilling on the steps in front of the department stores. There are a lot of well known Japanese department stores here too. Definitely take a look at Don Don Donki (known as Don Quijote in Japan) located inside Orchard Central. The store is opened 24 hours and has everything you need including cosplay outfits lol. I also liked going to Wisma Atria, Centrepoint, and Ion Orchard. Centrepoint is fairly cheap and you can find lower priced food souvenirs at the supermarket (Cold Storage) there! I found some affordable yet good quality clothing items at a store called Iora inside the building. Definitely try the Kaya toast at Toast Box. They also have one at Wisma Atria and Ion Orchard. Ion Orchard had a good mix of higher end stores to cheaper stores. If you spend $20 there, you can show the info center your receipts and they'll give you an admission ticket to their Ion Sky. It's an observatory with amazing views. Tip: I always go to observatories around sunset time so I can get a day view, sunset view, and night view. Ion Orchard is the perfect place to be on a hot day. You can mall hop and enjoy the AC. You'll also find lots of carts selling Singapore style ice cream (ice cream wrapped in bread) on the streets. The only downside is having to take the underpass to go across the street. I guess it's to make traffic flow. There are shops at the underpasses though!

Yelp
this is a great commercial zone with a lot of stuff to buy and try. And the 313 building has a food republic, which is highly recommended!!

Yelp
The main shopping street of Singapore where one shall find major upscale brand names and renown U.S. and European designer labels as Sephora, Gucci, Chanel, and mass department stores Ion and Takashimaya Singapore in Ngee Ann City. Yes, literally shop 'til one drops yet boasting Asia's economy. Quality cannot be compromised with price as there are no peddlers for knock-offs here. Orchard Road contains an extensive network of underpasses for shopping patrons to be shield from the purgatory equatorial heat. This street is a model of New York's Fifth Avenue but with more high-end shops and boutiques, restaurants, cafes imaginable. A very clean street to make my August 2010 experience enjoyable and memorable.

Yelp
Christmas is in the air. Everyone's in a festive good mood. Decorations along orchard rd are a must see. Loud Music is played to the masses. Victoria secret just launched their new big facility to project New York style runway feel. Streets are crowded. Orchard rd is the must see street with tons of malls interconnected at street level and basement levels. Many different types of food to sample especially at the Japanese malls.

Yelp
Orchard Road is a very popular place in Singapore. It is a long street with many huge and large malls with high end hotels as well. While walking around you can grab some food or drink at a bar. It reminds me of a very clean city with things to look at but not really to buy unless you have loads of money. Still I do enjoy coming here to eat and try different food. It's easy to get here you can take the subway station or what they call LRT I believe. The only thing I would say is that it is pretty packed with loads of people no matter what day it is. Workers and also tourist are all around here. Singapore is amazing a place that is unique in it's own way. I love traveling here and just walking around the city yeah!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the main shopping area in Singapore. Mall after mall selling everything and anything you could possibly think of at any price range you desire. The streets were decked out in holiday gear over xmas, but some of the decorations were in cutesy hot pink and silver colors. We found some good deals for clothing and luggage here. We got here via the Hop on Hop off tour bus on our way to Newton Food Centre, and it was really hard not to get sucked into endless shopping the whole afternoon!

Yelp
Shop until you drop! Go hard or go home! These are too smart phrases that you should be ready for before venturing on shopping spree on Orchard Road. Shopping could easily take you a good 2 to 3 days in order to cover all the stores in this shopping district. I took great advice from one of the locals here; she told me to walk past the Orchard Street MRT station to the Somerset station, and use that as my starting point. From there, I was advised to make my way Pat Orchard Road. In this regard, I would cover the entire area. This was easier said than done however. It would be OK if there were just one shopping mall or one shopping center. Here, in order to cover everything you would need to not only cover all of the stores on Orchard Road, but also all of the stores on the multilevel malls live in ION, WISM ATRIA, Orchard Gateway Shopping Center (closer to Somerset MRT), Robinsons, TANG's, Lucky Plaza, etc. This doesn't even include all the "tourist" souvenir shops like do your dinos and Rong Lee Da - The Gift Shop. My favorite was ION. I just love the energy and the fact that there are stores to fit many budgets. Then again, what's a budget when you're in a shopping mecca like Orchard Road!

Yelp
"Premier Shopping street" A really great shopping street with malls, high end stores and very good hotels. Also a vast range on restaurants from fast food to fine dining.
google avatar

Yelp
Lots of shopping in the area so be prepared to walk! Have a plan on where you want to go because you could probably spend days here trying to hit every mall
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
A whole boulevard of shopping malls. Spend time here if you're willing to spend a lot. There are high end shops and decent priced shops as well. However, if you're looking for some cheap goods, don't bother walking around here.

Yelp
BEAUTIFUL place with lots of restaurant options. Super family friendly and lots of photo-ops!

Yelp
"The odds of going to the store for a loaf of bread and coming out with only a loaf of bread are three billion to one." Orchard Road is like a Rodeo drive of Singapore. More than one mile long shopping distract, it got over "20" Shopping Malls, that's pretty insane. They got just about high end store you can think of, like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc... Street is extreme clean here, has a lot do to with very strong fined at those who violated those policy like jaywalking, smoking, throwing trash etc... Some of the malls are underground and you can walk to another mall by simply walk to the underground tunnel without need to face the humid hot weather outside, which you can't do in Dubai, they got bigger malls. But they aren't nearby, so you need to hub to a taxi and facing terrible traffics. Singapore you can visit all malls with effortless unlike most other Cities. Not all the malls in Singapore located in Orchard Road, but with train stop nearby, make it pretty easy to jump to other location without spend too much time on it. Shopping is making extreme easy here, so if you got the money and wanted to be as spend the least time possible, this is no doubt you top destination. Wish more cities follow this route. What I also like many shop working together, so if you don't get you item there, they can easily call up so the other vendor will deliver the item for you without even need to walkout the store ! For those who love shopping look no further, Orchard Road is your destination!

Yelp
During my 2 week stay in Singapore, this is where our group stayed. The Hotel was fairly plain by Singapore standards, but I loved every minute of being within this retail and entertainment hub. There's also convenient subway action and I had more legal fun that I probably deserved. The place is also packed with not only people, but shops stacked up, down, back and sideways. Just take your time as you take it all in.

Yelp
A shopaholic's dream!!! *insert smiley emoticon with the love heart eyes* Calling Orchard road the shopping hub of Singapore is an understatement - there are literally more than 20 gigantic shopping centres on the road itself, all next to / across from eachother so they are all within a walkable distance. Here, you can find everything to your heart's content, from the branded luxury labels to streetside vendors selling handmade blocks of ice cream between sweet fluffy bread. (What?! This must be a Singaporean delicacy.) I spent 2.5 days on my Orchard Road expedition and let me tell you - I had only scheduled 1 day for this and even 2.5 days was not enough! Burned a hole in my wallet, but on the upside, I lost a dress size weaving in and out of centres, walking up and down the street in the sweltering heat and humidity carrying armfuls of shopping!

K R.

Yelp
Orchard Road is Singapore's main shopping district. Lined with many malls restaurants and hotels it's a great place to spend the day. Starting from the end of Tanglin and going all the way to the beginning of Somerset, there is virtually every shop and restaurant you can think of here. High end shopping is available in malls like Ion and Takashimaya. While trendier and cheaper shopping can be found in The Heeren or Far East Plaza. Taking a stroll along the road is pleasant enough with its tree lined streets. Main MRT stops are Orchard and Somerset.
google avatar

Lachlan B.

Yelp
Orchard Rd is a Singapore institution. I can see why people love it, but it's just not my style. Almost unlimited shopping options abound here. Prices seemed similar or more expensive than for the same items back home in Australia, so I didn't buy too much. The high-end malls, such as Ion, are good for window shopping. Really hard to get a taxi from here on weekends, so get the MRT instead. Good for a look and a Singapore institution, but unless you want brand name stuff, there's much better options in Singapore - particularly the malls in the suburbs,

Yelp
The premier shopping spot for both tourists and locals alike, Orchard Road has everything! This is probably the best area to head to if you're looking for new clothes and shoes, either high-end or some cheapy bargains from the high street. If you're claustrophobic, it's best not to go on the weekends as it gets absolutely crazy. Food can be a bit pricey in this area, but if you head to the food courts in the shopping centres you can find some cheap meals.
google avatar

Qype User (antoni…)

Yelp
The main street of shopping in Singapore, you can find almost anything here, from clothing to accessories to electronics to automobile, from the cheapest sale shop to the luxury high end boutiques. It is not suggested to go to Orchard on weekends, due to its being overcrowded, not just by tourists but also locals. Three main shopping centres: Ngee Ann City, Paragon, Tangs which are located nearby. Additionally, further down the road you can find Plaza Singapura, just next to the Presidential palace. A lot of luxurious hotels are also located nearby. You can find almost any kind of meal, but it is not the cheapest in Singapore.

Christopher B.

Yelp
Orchard Road is one of Singapore's gems for shopping, and it is well-known and visited by Singaporeans. You can get here easily on the metro. If you are looking for higher-end items, you can probably find them here, but there are some less expensive stores (like Forever 21) too. Groceries markets are available, but you are going to pay top dollar for items. You can find hawker stalls if you are looking for some reasonably-priced dining options. There are also plenty of hotels. It's also interesting to visit during Christmas and the New Year as decorations light the sky in the evening.
google avatar

GT W.

Yelp
Singapore's main shopping district with a variety of high-end malls all squashed together along this road. Reminds me of the MBK Paragon mega mall compound in Bangkok but cleaned up quite a bit. Higher end stores and higher prices - nothing too interesting for me as a tourist, but air-conditioned at least inside the buildings to escape the heat. There are a variety of restaurants and hawker stands interspersed and some excellent movie theaters. Impressive, clean, and great variety and energy.

Su S.

Yelp
If youre in singapore you definitely have to check out orchard road. It has a lot of more expensive-ish stores like (there were around 4?) louis vuitton shops etc. but its just a place you should go when you are in singapore, its like going to central park in new york or going to the tour eiffel in paris. Orchard road is massive if i remember correctly. Lots of plants and really well designed and beautiful. You can't really shop fashionable clothing for a reasonable price, more luxury items... i haven't seen a lot of stores like zara for more casual fashion, if you know what i mean. I hate how you can't cross the street in singapore, you literally have to walk like 40 meters to get to the next crossroad where you can cross the street. Bleh. Sooo secure haha Takashimaya was fun to check out, asian mall usually are. The food court really satisfied us. I would highly recommend it.
google avatar

Stan L.

Yelp
it's the preeminent shopping destination.. but if you can skip the stores if you're coming from the u.s. since the prices are higher.. the only exception would be non-u.s. brands.. of note.. there are plenty of food options at certain basement malls.. i really enjoyed ion orchard and takashimaya

Yelp
High end shopping. Beautifully decorated at Christmas time. I felt safe walking around late at night. Here's a video I made highlighting the Christmas lights last December: http://youtu.be/Q5Hn6hT-IUw

Yelp
Quintessential shopping street, this is like Singapore's equivalent to Tokyo's Ginza district. Lots of air-conditioned stores line this street and make for good window shopping if nothing else. Exit MRT Somerset and walk towards the park to get a little taste of this neighborhood.
google avatar

Qype User (Lucka…)

Yelp
On the way back to Germany from Australia had a stop over in Singapore. Orchard Road is the attraction of Singapore for shopping. Quite expensive and exclusive. Watchout when you withdraw money form cash machine, surprising charges!!!
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Singapore's premiere shopping locale especially for high end goods. There's a lot of shopping areas in town but Orchard Rd is something of an icon. Very crowded especially on Sundays when the huge number of maids in Singapore congregate and meet their friends for their only day off during the week. You will probably get better deals back home on most merchandise.
google avatar

Qype User (hazeld…)

Yelp
Orchard Road is Singapore's shopping central! It's the Oxford Street of the city. You can buy anything and everything down there. However, for electronics stick to Funan Centre and Sim Lim Square. Take the MRT to the Orchard station. The layout of the road is not shops fronted on to the street but just multiple shopping centres containing them. Food and drink, cheap and expensive can all be found here. Most shopping centres will have a food court where you can pick up very cheap meals. Cinemas to bookstores, this road has it all.

Qype User (allanw…)

Yelp
Orchard Road is a famous boulevard, with department stores on both sides. The one I liked mostly is Takashimaya Shopping Centre. It is really big and would suit most of your interests. There's a very nice and big bookstore named Kinokuniya.. If you're going to buy electronics you should be careful. Our guide advised us to be careful about Lucky Plaza. In some of the stores you can end up with a box of bricks instead of a camera! For cameras and electronics best is to shop at sim lim square. Cheers

Mellie C.

Yelp
Fantastic shopping area that rivals the Rodeo Drive and Sloane Squares of the world. Every high end shop and trendy store is located here. Very fun to just watch and enjoy!
