Orchid Coffee & Restaurant

Visiting from Switzerland and after 10 days on the road, Café Orchid stands out as my top two favorite restaurants of the trip so far! The food was not only delicious and beautifully presented, but also generous in portion size and filled with healthy, vegan-friendly options. The pineapple-coconut pie was divine, the smoothies and coffee were excellent, and the ambiance was chill and welcoming. On top of it all, the service was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and warm. If you’re in the area, don’t miss this gem. We ate here every day we were in Santa Elena (breakfast and lunch). Loved it and would keep coming back in a heartbeat! 🌿💚

This place is amazing! You feel like you’re having lunch or coffee in someone’s garden home. Food was delicious. Had the breakfast club sandwich and it was a generous portion. Coffee was great too. Our server was so nice and gave us good recommendations to try the desserts and we ended up having the pistachio,raspberry & white chocolate cookie and the chocolate chip cookie and they were both amazing. Highly recommend this cafe/restaurant

Updating from 4 to 5 stars because we came back for breakfast and WOW the pancakes ~$10 were amazing. Super fluffy! Coffee and empanadas really good too. Central location, solid food. Rather touristy but a good option for anyone looking for American food. Reasonable prices.

Wonderful! Happy to have stopped here while exploring the town. Was recommended and it was a great choice. Super friendly people, great service, jummie food and a very nice place to relax and enjoy the good food and coffee. Will definitely be back, so a solid 5 star recommendation

My absolute favorite in Monteverde, I come every time I’m in town! Food is amazing, there’s a great drink selection, and the staff is always so friendly. I recommend sitting outside in the dry season to soak in the sun and upstairs among the bougainvilleas in the rainy season :)

One of our favorite restaurants of our entire Costa Rican vacation! The food was really fresh and high-quality. Reminded us of eating at small restaurants in Europe. Loved the vibe inside and they also had outdoor and an upstairs patio seating. We ordered a crazy variety of items from the menu – salmon Panini, salad, soup, crêpes, and chicken tenders - and all of it turned out amazing! Cannot recommend highly enough. If you’re eating at one place for breakfast or lunch in Monteverde, this should be it.

Beautiful little cafe with a great selection of baked goods and a menu that has something for everyone. Latte and breakfast sandwich were delicious and they even had gluten free bread for me! Highly recommend!
