EXCEPTIONAL! Orchids delivers pure elegance with outstanding quality, flavor, and presentation. The service is impeccable—attentive yet unhurried—complemented by a stunning atmosphere and breathtaking views. The Beef Cheek, Tako (Octopus), and Short Rib Ravioli were extraordinarily tender, and the bread and coconut cake were simply divine. Kudos to the talented chefs for their expertise and commitment to quality ingredients; it is rare and deeply appreciated! The staff made my 45th birthday unforgettable, creating the best dining experience of my life. I’d give 100 stars if I could. Special thanks to Nikolas for his mastery and warmth. Every member of the team — Nikolas, Joey, the hostess, our valets, & so many others — radiated excellence and joy. I’ll cherish this memory for years and absolutely plan to return for all future birthdays. Mahalo nui loa! Tips: Enjoy live jazz at Lewers Lounge post-dinner, and ask staff to snap a photo with Lē’ahi (Diamond Head) as your stunning backdrop.

WOW. This restaurant exceeded our expectations in all aspects - food, service, and atmosphere. My beef cheeks dish (one of my favorite things to order when I see it on a menu) was just divine, as were the meals selected by my friends. The presentation - beautiful. The view of the coast at sunset was just magnificent and the service was top notch - they even gladly took pictures of us on the lawn just next to the tables. Highly recommend this restaurant for an all around fantastic experience.

Celebrated our anniversary here for dinner. Good spot. Love the ambiance. Service was attentive. And views were great. Enjoyed dinner and price is reasonable for waikiki. Recommend!

Google
Absolutely magnificent dining experience. The waiter was eager to serve us, we didn't wait long to get served, they explained menus professionally and passionately. The food was over my expectations and the plate was clean bright after we finished each meal. Price was exceptional, in such way that if we had this kind of meal in other restaurant it would be twice the price. One downside was the beef cheek was a bit greasy and had gamey smell. Other than that, great mood, great food, just perfect. 6 stars!

This restaurant was absolutely exquisite. Excellent service and food. The goat cheese salad was one of the best salads I have ever had. The dressing was 🔥 The fireworks and the ocean was the icing on the cake. Glad we were able to experience the beautiful fireworks. Chef’s Kiss

Google
Orchids is a fantastic spot for a relaxing meal with a stunning ocean view. The calm and serene atmosphere makes it perfect for lunch. The menu offers great value with plenty of options, and the seafood I tried was absolutely delicious. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

Google
Great spot for fine dining, went for special occasion. Enjoyed their grilled octopus, scallops and black prawns, tomato soup, brocollini, and coconut cake. Portions are pretty small but flavor wise none of them missed. Highly recommend this spot.

Google
Orchids has an amazing view and vibe with decent dishes and service - much recommended for a special brunch when in Honolulu. For birthdays they offer their signature coconut piece cake.

Yelp
Orchids for breakfast was a great experience. The food was great. I had the NY Strip and Eggs and it was solid. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The view and atmosphere of this restaurant is probably the best thing about it. Had a nice view of Diamond Head from our table and the overall atmosphere was enjoyable. I would recommend trying for breakfast and look forward to trying out lunch/dinner, or their weekend brunch.

Yelp
This is more like a 2.5 star rating. A business associate made our reservations at Orchids for a weeknight evening. I had never been before and was looking forward to great music and a nice evening. I arrived a little early and checked in with the hostess about 10 minutes before our reservation time thinking I could sit and enjoy a drink while waiting for my associate to arrive. But even though a few people were already seated, and the tables were all set, I was politely refused seating. Sigh. So, I wandered around for 10 minutes. At our appointed reservation time, we were greeted and seated. Throughout the evening, we received fine dining style service. However, this may seem picky, but our main waiter was not enthusiastic in his service or in answering questions. He seemed to just want to get it over with. A couple times he'd serve a dish then just walk away and we had to call him back; one time I wanted another drink and another time I wanted to order dessert. This is what happened. My first drink (a cocktail) sat empty through several courses. Usually, I wait for someone to ask me if I want another drink, but nobody did, so I had to ask for it. Then, towards the end of our meal, the waiter served my friend a dessert and walked away without asking me if I wanted dessert, which I did. So, we had to call him back. Sigh. About the food. I tried the rum cocktail and glass of white wine; complimentary breadbasket with butter, olive oil-vinegar, assorted olives; lobster bisque with long breadstick; sea bass entree with asparagus flan; and coconut cake. The rum cocktail was way too sweet for me and like sweet drinks. The white wine (a blanco) recommended to me (by the maitre d?) was very good. The accoutrement that came with the breadbasket was quite nice, but every piece of bread in the basket was dry and hard. My friend requested softer bread, but the server said that was all they had (!) As well, the breadstick that came with my soup was dry, crumbly and flavorless. The bisque was served as a dry bowl with pieces of lobster and a dollop of creme fraiche at the bottom, then at tableside, the waiter poured the soup base on top. It was a brown liquid, a little salty but mostly lacking in any depth of flavor or creaminess. The sea bass was ok, it was served as two plain pieces of fish, lightly seasoned, not overcooked or undercooked, with a small pitcher of butter sauce for adding flavor. The asparagus flan was tasty and nice. The coconut cake was good, fresh and light. The best part of Orchids is the outdoor seating with a nice view of the lawn and the band. Would I go back again? I wouldn't want to, but if I had to, I would need some advice on what to order!

Yelp
Came here to celebrate our anniversary. We booked in advance as the reservations seem to book pretty quickly. I was also told this restaurant was very close to Mama's Fish House in Maui, so was pretty excited as I love Mama's Fish House. This restaurant is located inside the Halekulani hotel. The hotel is fancy and there are signage that indicates appropriate casual elegant attire. To find the restaurant, it depends on where you enter. We didn't enter through the valet entrance, so ended up searching for the restaurant. However, a staff member pointed us in the right direction. You have to pass through the shops inside the hotel, and then you'll see Orchids on your right. You should see signage. There is a spacious and cozy waiting area to the restaurant after you check in, as they will not seat you soomer than your reservation time. You can go to La Mer for drinks, or can wait in the lobby with the fireplace. We did the latter, and the wait wasn't so bad. We were called by the hostess at 6:30pm (the time of our resy). We were seated on the patio, overlooking the ocean, which was nice. It wasn't too hot nor cold. It felt just right. The ambiance and staff = 5. It is a clean and romantic restaurant for sure. Good experience overall. The waiters and servers were all attentive and pleasant. Service was great throughout our dining. No issues there. They actually gave us a slice of coconut chiffon cake on the house for our anniversary, which was nice. The cake was very soft and delicious. I don't even like coconut, but this one was delicious. Then we also got 2 small biscotti pieces to finish off the course. As for the food overall = 3. It's actually a 2, but I gave it a 3 for the artistic plating of each item. Most were so beautifully placed. However, the food did not taste as good as it looked. It was also pretty pricey for what you get also. You're basically paying for the fancy experience. The frutti de mare was very minimal and had a whole ton of taro(?) under it. It was purple in color and tasted very similar to a bland potato, so I'm thinking it was taro. The scallop on this dish was delicious though. Then the hamachi appetizer was also pretty good, although the sea asparagus was salty and not good. The truffle fries were good. The Hawaiian sea bass was cooked appropriately with a butter-caper sauce on the side, but the green pureé was not very good. The prawn and scallop entrèé was... nothing too spectacular. Had focaccia bread under it. The scallops tasted bland. I think the desserts stole the show. The chiffon coconut was good, and so was the hazelnut torte. Although the torte was not out of this world fantastic.

Yelp
We came here on recommendation of our friend that lives on the island. He recommended because it is romantic place and it was our anniversary. This is a one air restaurant so plan accordingly if the weather is on the hotter side. There are great views of the ocean and the sunsets are amazing. I did not realize it was open air until free we arrived and I had to put my hair up because it was a warmer day. Service: very attentive and constantly on top of you. The waiters are a bit on the snobby side but the water fillers are nice and will gladly snap a photo of you with the sunset in the background. Food: a major expensive letdown. My husband ordered the multi course prix fixe menu. My husband steak was inedible, he took two bites and stopped. A filet should not be tough and unchewable. The server asked how was the steak, my husband said it was tough and not chewable. Our server immediately took the plate away and left. He did not bring a new steak but rather the manager came over and apologized. But nobody offered to bring my husband something else to eat. I got the sea bass. The sea bass had an asparagus purée. It was bland. The food all looks pretty but it does not taste as good as it looks. Because my husband did not get an edible meal, the manager gave us a free slice of their coconut cake. We said no thank you but they brought a slice anyways. It would have been better if they prepared the steak for my husband so he could have a protein for dinner or gave us a discount, but a free piece of cake does not make up for a good meal. The coconut cake was the best part of the dinner though. If you come here, I would recommend having dessert one, coconut cake is delicious.

Yelp
We came for the Sunday brunch and Orchids delivered the classic brunch buffet experience. They had honey ham, brisket, prime rib, whole roasted pig, and turkey at the carving station. There was a ramen bar, a very well provisioned seafood station with crab, oysters, sushi, sashimi, and poke. There's salads of every kind and deserts of all sorts. We also ordered eggs Benedict and waffles from the staff. I think there was also an omelette station, but I was so full. Service is understated elegance in a nice outdoor venue.

Yelp
Overview: A super classy and beautiful restaurant overlooking Waikiki Beach. Service was great but food missed the mark. A friend who lives in Waikiki recommended Orchids. We were excited to have an excellent meal at a renowned restaurant. Food: Our food was mediocre. I had the $180 tasting menu including tuna tartare, lasagnette, branzino, tenderloin, and dessert. The tuna tartare was good but not great. The lasagnette was ok (one giant shrimp on some mediocre pasta) The branzino was severely overcooked. The tenderloin was served cold, and it was tough and gristly; the tenderloin never should have left the kitchen, it was that bad. I sent most of the tenderloin back. Dessert was not edible. Very, very disappointing meal. Drinks: good drinks Service: Overall above-average service but not very attentive. When someone refuses to eat a tenderloin and provides negative feedback on the food quality in real time, I'd expect a little more in the area of trying to make it right. For example, when I sent back the tenderloin, the reaction was basically "sorry you didn't like it' and nothing else. My wife ordered the sea bass entrée and was very disappointed with the overcooked and nearly flavorless fish. Ambiance: fantastic, but not enough to bring me back for another meal given the poor food preparation and sub-par food quality Value: Given the very poor quality of the food, Orchids is an extremely poor value. For $180 prix fixe meal, only half of what was served was even average. I rejected the steak and dessert, and we ended up going to another restaurant to finish our dinner. Overall cleanliness: excellent Bathroom cleanliness: excellent

Yelp
I had to hear on the second night of our vacation the restaurant located right on the beach you have beautiful views of the ocean and the sunsetting. The restaurant is beautiful and it exudes a lot of elegance. I had the Mediterranean Branzino , which was delicious. It was flaky and soft and had a full of flavor. and artichokesand Pearl onions. Our second order what is the tasty menu which included five different specialty items such as Hawaiian yellowfin Ahi Tartare, tenderloin, fillet, lasagnette, and Mediterranean Branzino, It was good we enjoyed ourselves. The servings weren't very large. The service was excellent.

Yelp
3/2/25 11:30a Brunch - The waiters and staff were friendly and attentive. Our main waiter (Teru?) provided excellent service as we sat outside overlooking a grassy area. There is an elegance and refinement which truly sets this brunch apart from any other. The complimentary champagne; sweet snow crab; the fresh sashimi; the oysters, mussels, clams, and shrimp were so ono. I especially enjoyed the warm omelette made to order, the crispy lechon skin and shredded pork, the brisket, and the prime rib with vegetable accompaniment. Waiters assisted with our plates and kept the table uncluttered. The assortment of desserts were irresistible. Definitely a worthwhile experience overall. Next time will try the ramen station, eggs benedict, waffles, maki sushi, hand rolls, and ice cream as I was too full to take another bite. The talented pianist played a range of songs that added to the relaxed ambiance. The attention to detail from the superb service to food presentation and quality made this a memorable occasion with my daughter and son-in-law. Already looking forward to the next brunch opportunity.

Yelp
What an absolute lovely experience. A group of ten of us came in for high tea and had the most wonderful time. The service couldn't be beat and the food and tea were delightful. They were spot on with accommodating allergies and preferences. We had someone who was vegan and someone who was allergic to seafood and they made sure they brought out their own plates so nothing even came close to touching things it shouldn't. The orchid vanilla tea was so good! I'm a black tea girl and that one was one of the best I've ever had. It was expensive. A little more expensive than I think it was worth, but not enough to take away a star. It will be a special occasion spot when family comes to town for sure.

Yelp
This was one of my late brother's favorite restaurants. After enjoying a special lunch in his memory, we can see why he liked it so much. For starters, the service is excellent. You're greeted by everyone, don't have to wait for a menu or to hear the specials and you are served your water and drink orders taken as soon as you are seated. The selection of foods is excellent, from seafood to burgers. Lunch is a two course menu with your choice of a starter and entree. I went with the endive salad and Orchids seafood curry. The salad was about the portion of a house salad. The ingredients nicely complemented each other; endive, arugula and tomatoes with shaved parmesan and a light dressing. The seafood curry was excellent. A nice mix of fish, shrimp and scallop. It came served separately from the jasmine rice and with side condiments; chutney, pineapple and dried coconut. The curry was so good it didn't need any of the condiments and the portion was large enough to get you stuffed. Regardless, I couldn't pass up trying some of my wife's dessert, the panna cotta. Really nicely served with whipped cream, shaved ice, fruit and meringue. The atmosphere is one of the best on the island. We were seated outdoors where you have a view of Diamond Head and Waikiki beach. There's nothing more relaxing than hearing the sound of waves and the feel of the tradewinds. This lunch was not just a meal but an experience!

Yelp
Service as always good, food is decent, I want to eat mochi waffle but sold out :( the view is very pretty with ocean and diamonds right there.

Yelp
The best and most expensive Sunday brunch buffet in Hawaii! You will find everything you'd ever wish for, including an omelette station, full spread of sushi and sashimi/poke, and all kinds of shellfish like shrimp, oysters and my favorite, crab legs! Normally carving stations at buffets have dry meats under heat lamps, but here everything is juicy and tender, like suckling pig, prime rib, turkey, and ham. If you're want to fill up on carbs they have pancakes, pastries, toast, etc. Save room for dessert, because you'll have to choose from over a dozen sweets for any taste buds. But what sets this buffet apart is their service. Water and coffee was always filled, empty plates were quickly taken away, and plenty of suggestions if you need them. The view of Diamond Head and the ocean cannot be beat, and they always have great live music, whether on the piano or string/flute. It's expensive but worth the experience.

Yelp
Orchids has amazing atmosphere, I recommend reservations just before sunset. The food is super delicious and a great date location.

Yelp
Orchids really shines at dinner, the food is the most remarkable then. Lunch offers more casual food, dinner brings out the gourmet options. It is rare that I actually feel an issue from a last review is so readily addressed and so quickly. My previous lament was the lack of gourmet vegetarian options and with the new menu, I am happy to see more crafted options. Now I can actually look forward to trying more than just a single dish. With that said, I feel I must point out that service here is always with a smile and amazing in general. This is where one really feels they are experiencing the aloha spirit of Hawaii. I have really seen staff go above and beyond for clients, old world service still exits in this place. Looking forward to more time spent here.

Yelp
Orchids is a restaurant that does certain things very well, but falls short on some fundamental aspects. What impressed me was the excellent service, breathtaking views and truly delicious fish. We ordered the Hawaiian Sea bass and Grilled Scallop & Prawns. Both plates very visually stunning and perfectly cooked. I loved how the flavors of the sauces and proteins paired together. Pretty unique too. I've never had asparagus flan before, but I'm a fan now! The pineapple sorbet blew me away as well. Usually sorbets are too icy for me, but theirs was surprisingly creamy and decadent. However there were some missteps that I couldn't overlook. The bread they served was stale and the focaccia was almost too hard to eat. The Grilled Scallop & Prawn dish included pearl onions, but they were raw and therefore inedible. So why even include them in the dish? I would have preferred if they grilled them longer and so they at least caramelize. The Seabass dish was almost perfect. Even though I loved the sliced asparagus, I really think they should have pickled them to give the dish more balance. The fish was soft and creamy and so was the flan, so I really missed something to cut the fat! Overall, I was very satisfied with Orchids. I tend to be a bit harsher on fine dining restaurants, but this place is certainly worthy of a visit.

Yelp
Orchids is the main restaurant at Halekulani, serving breakfast, lunch & dinner. Their Sparkling Sunday Brunch with live piano music shouldn't be missed. ATMOSPHERE: Split level layout, open air, gorgeous ocean & Leahi views. SUNDAY BRUNCH - $118.00 adults, $61.00 ages 5-10 There is something for everyone, more so because you can order off of the ala carte menu. Two glasses of Prosecco or sparkling cider are included. Other brunch libations are extra. The buffet's strengths are in the sushi, carved meats & seafood categories. I enjoyed caesar salad, edamame pokē, snow crab legs (steamed and sautéed), omelette station, shoyu ramen (underwhelming broth), roasted potatoes, ice cream bar and coconut cake. BRUNCH SERVICE: Everyone was professional. Table service for coffee refills was lacking attention. We returned for their regular weekday/Saturday breakfast. FOOD: Classic Waffle - $19.00 Belgian-style waffle sprinkled with powdered sugar with sides of whipped butter, whipped cream, strawberry slices and melon cubes. The wheat-colored waffle was a tad dry and fairly creamy. I'd prefer plain butter, no powdered sugar and a traditional flour batter. Florentine Benedict - $26.00 Toasted, soft and chewy English muffins topped with salty salmon, perfectly poached eggs and traditional hollandaise sauce, with a side of breakfast potatoes. Textbook recipe. BREAKFAST SERVICE: We had a short under 10 minute wait to be seated. Food took a while as they bring the entire table's choices out all at once. Wait staff were attentive with a minor hiccup as one dish and beverage were forgotten. OVERALL: Waikiki's most relaxing, scenic and service-oriented breakfast & brunch.

Yelp
Everything is absolutely amazing and well worth the price. The food selection meets everyone's expectations, seafood and meat lovers alike. Our servers were so gracious and welcoming. Truly the best Sunday Buffet meal for our whole party of 5

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and our experience. We were quickly seated on the patio and had a lovely view of the ocean. The host brought me a little table on which to set my purse. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. We both had the Hawaiian Seabass. The mai tai was the best I've ever had. At a place like this, the ambience and service is every bit as important as the food quality and choices. They surpassed all my expectations. I love this place so much I will be returning in the near future.

Yelp
Thanksgiving buffet dinner at Orchids was delicious, with great variety and excellent atmosphere. The service was excellent both at the table and on the buffet. The buffet included 2 glasses of Proseco. To start, I thought I'd be good and have salad. They were good but there's sooo much food! (Sorry. I don't know why the photos didn't appear. ) Take a look at the menu and the photos. There were so many choices from appetizers, entrees and, of course, desserts. I think I should have started with dessert. There was Hawaiian music and hula on the lawn next to Orchids at the restaurant House Without A Key.

Yelp
Reserved brunch a month in advance and was absolutely stunning! Beautiful restaurant on the beach with beautiful views. The seafood is very fresh and loved everything -- oysters, crab legs, sushi. The ramen was good but some broths were overly salty for my preference. The fish of the day was excellent and had multiple orders of that! Our waitress was very attentive and submitted our hot orders when we were ready (eggs Benedict, waffles, pancakes). The desserts all looked delicious so tried them all! Overall, for the quality and experience for an all you can eat brunch buffet, this is worth the price. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This was my favorite meal of the trip. I made a reservation months in advance. Orchid's and Hoku's are known for having the two most famous Sunday brunches on the island, and I decided to go with Orchid's because Hoku's doesn't have outdoor dining and I was interested in seeing the Halekulani hotel. This was the best buffet breakfast I have ever had. While the food selection was a lot more limited than what you might find in a place like Las Vegas, the overall food quality and taste was so high, and the service was 5-stars. At $118 per person, the brunch comes with two glasses of champagne, unlimited tea, coffee, and juice, unlimited access to their buffet stations, and a selection of hot dishes made to order. Each station, other than the desserts, is manned by a chef who prepares the perfect plate for you. The restaurant is incredibly thoughtful when it comes to portion sizes, making it easy to try everything you want while helping to reduce waste (so important!). Highlights were the snow crab legs, extensive carving station, fresh sushi station, hot pancakes and waffles, fresh juices, and ice cream station. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
12/30/24 we felt fortunate we snagged reservations for New Year's Eve. However we didn't think there was a special menu (we weren't thinking). But, they never told us when we made the reservation. Generally we love orchids because the service is impeccable and the food is always beautiful and tasty. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because we had sticker shock on the price. Yikes. We will definitely go back to orchids but maybe not on a holiday.

Yelp
Loooove this buffet. It's probably the best Sunday buffet ever on the island. You get a quality variety of food ranging from seafood, meats, and amazing desserts. You also get 2 complimentary Prosecco or mimosa included with your buffet. They also give complimentary drinks like pog, guava juice, coffee and teas. The service and ambiance is 10/10 I feel like whatever table you get, will be a nice view as the restaurant is right infront of the ocean. I would go back again!

Yelp
Sunday brunch buffet in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii... When my cousin from San Francisco wanted to throw an early birthday party for my mom, I gathered the female cousins quickly. Two cousins would be off-island, but the rest were able to attend! We were all excited to go to Orchids at the Halekulani Hotel for the Sunday Brunch. I had heard great things about it but had never been. One cousin asked if valet service was free. Yes... However, we should leave a tip. Our reservation was changed by the hotel to a later time... 12:30pm... and brunch ends at 2:30pm... We made the time limit, and the staff was nice to not rush us out when we went a bit over... because some people wanted to stay a bit and chat. It was a fun event for me because of the variety of offerings. From sushi station, poke station, and omelet bar to carving stations (ham, turkey, suckling pig, brisket, and prime rib), salad bar, bread table, and dessert bar vs. Ice cream station... everything was fresh, colorful, and delicious! Service was friendly, polite, and welcoming! I did take a couple of trays of used plates to the bussing station because our large group was challenging. Haha! We have some foodies who liked to debate - for example: is the Mango sorbet better than the vanilla ice cream? Both are made in-house! I think it's a good idea to just try it and experience it for yourself. The open-air ambiance with views of the ocean and Diamond Head make it special! Note: There was a pesky fly hovering around and a feral bird overhead... uhg! Thanks for an overall great All You Can Eat buffet!

Yelp
This rating is based solely off dinner. We made reservations for dinner service. Our server was attentive. His helper however, tried to take the carving board which had half of the porterhouse steak on it, to the back. I had to call him and tell to leave it. He didnt ask if we wanted to box it or if we were finished, he was just nonchalantly walking away with it like we wouldnt notice. Most of the bread in the bread basket was ok, but the focaccia was very stale and hard. Per our guests, the burrata app, the mushroom risotto, and the lobster bisque were good. The ravioli dishes (short rib and the goat cheese) were undercooked and hard, not al dente and over salted. The broccolini was well seasoned and delicious. The sea bass and asparagus was good, but the flan it came with underwhelming. Whoever was working the meat station the night we dined, only knows one setting to cook a steak: rare, and is incapable of following directions. For a high end restaurant, this was seriously disappointing. Moving to dessert: the tiramisu was good, the hazelnut torte had a dry cake, but flavorful per the person eating it, the kona gelato was good, the citrus panna cotta should not be skipped- it was amazing, and their signature coconut cake was enjoyed by everyone. Ambiance. Dining on the lanai was nice. You get a breeze, and a show from the place next door. I would not recommend coming here for dinner, maybe stick to their buffet.

Yelp
The Sunday Brunch Buffet at Orchids is well known for being extravagant, high priced, and where you go to once in a while to treat yourself, family, or friends. But it's getting very high priced. Is it worth it? Orchids is located in the Halekulani Hotel in Waikiki, along Kalia Road. The parking garage is actually across from the hotel with the entrance ramp on your left side, at the end of the street, right before the Sheraton Waikiki loading dock. There's free 4-hour validation, which is nice. Or you can do valet. The inside is large with an open air atmosphere, views of Diamond Head, and seatings next to the beach, which is nice. The service was good and very attentive. With multiple servers assisting our sections--one was friendly and cheerful, one was quite attentive, and the other was just there (no words spoken besides "refill?"). The price is shooting up like crazy though. 11 months ago, the cost was $85. A few months ago, $105. Now I saw a photo, it's $135!! Yikes! I mean, it's a $50 increase within a year. Getting a little steep. Glad I was there when it was still $105. Any Kama'aina or senior discount? NOPE. Hmph! Help us out...a little bit? Especially if it's $135/person. When you take a step back and see what the buffet offers, it's basically (a lot of) desserts and pastries, salad bar, limited sushi bar, seafood bar, basic ramen bar, an omelette station, multiple meat stations, and made to order eggs Benedict, waffle, and pancakes. That's basically it. There's really no main or (savory and salty) starch items. Outside of desserts and baked items, and meat, there's not a whole lot of variety. The setup was a little confusing. The dessert station is right in front of the meat stations, so it can be crowded. The breakfast meats is literally hidden behind the omelette station. There's no flow, so it's basically a free-for-all. For meat and seafood lovers, this is great! The carving stations had prime rib, baked ham, bbq brisket, whole suckling pig, roasted turkey, fresh oysters, shrimp cocktail, snow crab legs, salmon/ahi poke, and etc. It was a nice experience. Beautiful views and comfortable atmosphere. Good service. The food was on-par for a buffet. Nothing extraordinary, nothing terrible. But for that price point, I expect the food to be a little bit better. I felt everything was quite simple and light. The meats barely had any salt or seasonings (especially the suckling pig), the ramen was light, hollandaise on the Benedict was bland, sushi was super basic, the nori on the hand rolls were not crispy, poke was firm and slightly under seasoned, crab legs were not meaty or sweet. My favorites were the fresh oysters and shrimp. Really nice sized and fresh! Overall, at $105/person, I'd say it's worth it. But going to $135? Whoa... Careful you don't get too high cause the next step is over $150. Don't want to get too nuts here. Inflation rate slowed down in 2023, so the increase from $85 to $135 within a year is startling.

Yelp
The best food, service and ambience for a romantic dinner! I hadn't been there for years! The view is spectacular from your table and the servers full of gracious aloha. Our Hawaiian sea bass was mouth watering along with our hamachi sea salad. Delicious food all around. We ended our meal with a celebratory coconut cake that made me smile and the best ever, I am not kidding! Moist and not too sweet. We polished off the entire piece and we never do that! Love the Halekulani and want to go back soon!

Yelp
Absolutely INCREDIBLE. We are local & typically go to House Without a Key, but decided to change it up & go to Orchids. From the moment we were greeted at the host stand, we were treated like old friends by the entire staff! Scott was our primary server & was outstanding. Everyone was genuine, friendly & knowledgeable. Prices are high (but not Manhattan high!) but the drinks & food were reflective of that. Phenomenal. We went in the evening so it was lovely to hear the band in the background. Will be back again & again. Big Mahalos to the crew! The Shrimp Salad was my fave! (See pic)

Yelp
This is a setting that is not possible to duplicate. You have the island tradewind breezes. There is the sound and smell of the ocean yards away. Tree framed views of vessels and people in the water, and a picture postcard profile view of Diamond Head across the way. Reason enough to come. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and a weekend or holiday brunch. Breakfast and lunch are just okay. The dishes sometimes seem to ambitious and out of place. Afternoon tea is wonderful, if you shoosh away the persistent sparrows. Dinner, when the sun is going down is a wonderful setting. Brunch, the best in Honolulu, is what you want to experience. There are endless pictures and well deserved gushing praise for the buffet brunch. Let this description of a Christmas Eve Holiday Brunch further tempt you. Start w up to 2 glasses of complimentary Proseco + coffee or tea. Easy & Light: Mixed seasonal greens, tropical fruit salad, charcuterie and cheese, w house made dressings and proper condiments. Tokyo influenced Sushi, Nigiri: Ahi, salmon, hamachi, ebi, ika nigiri. Spicy ahi, salmon skin, California handrolls. Stuffed inari, including salmon and ikura, snob crab, mushrooms, konbu. Soba w condiments. Crudites. Ramen Bar: Kotteri chicken shoyu, fish based yuzu shio, vegetarian broths + simmered catch of the day. Omelette Station: eggs served up, over, scrambled, and as an omelette w almost anything available on the buffet possible to add in. Chef's Carving Stations: Waimanalo suckling pig, Prime Rib w Yorkshire Pudding, Leg of Lamb, Sage Roasted Turkey, Roasted Beef Brisket, Chimichurri Beef Flank, a cooked Seafood Medley of clams, mussels, crawfish shrimp, snow crab. Yelp
Brunch buffet has it all! The classic American breakfast to freshly made to order sushi. Finishing the meal off with all the desserts-Haupia was so yummy. The dining area opens out to a lawn view facing the beach.

Yelp
I have been asked what was my best fine dining experience. I had no one place that came to mind immediately. That is now changed forever. My dining experience at Orchids at the Halekulani was and is my most memorable dining experience. I choose to use the word perfect. It was perfect in every way. I dined at 7:45pm, requested a lanai outdoor table. After being seated, the surround was exquisite. The beautiful hotel, a large grassy area, a small stage nearby with live Hawaiian music including a dancer in traditional long muu muu, beautiful. The cool evening tropical air, the Pacific Ocean a stone's throw away. The menu offered choices perfect for this setting and all tastes. I ordered a prawn starter, their sea bass served with an asparagus flan, dessert was tiramisu, taken to another level and an espresso martini. Several waiters attended to us expertly. Amuse bouche was served and quite delicious. Bread basket with a delight of breads, served warm. Accompanied by a choice of oil, balsamic and peppered butter, plus a side of olives. The food was exquisite, perfectly prepared and served. The tiramisu was a round glistening chocolate sphere, gold leaf on top, sliced open, revealed the layers of delight inside. I now regret not also choosing to have their famous coconut layer cake! I have never had a better dining experience and I am forever grateful I decided on the Orchids restaurant. There are fireworks in Honolulu every Friday night. I was dining this night on a Tuesday night. Right before dessert, fireworks suddenly exploded right over the ocean right before us. Seems a large cosmetic company put on this display for their conference there, it lasted 45 minutes and was the perfect end to a perfect dining experience. Mahalo, Halekulani and Orchids restaurant, you have a piece of my heart!

Yelp
Orchids offers the best of the scenery, food quality and service. We celebrated New Year over brunch at Orchids. We were given 2 glasses of champagne each for the celebration. All kinds of delicious food, from crab legs, lobsters, sushi, oyster to stunning desserts are offered. Trays are available for holding small tasting dishes. Servers were very attentive in refilling coffees, water and drink. There can't be a better spot for the celebration. We enjoyed everything, and we went home happily stuffed. At the end of the brunch, our server helped us take an amazing picture by the ocean. What a great memory!

Yelp
What a gorgeous restaurant!! We went for a friend's milestone birthday and it did not disappoint! Its located in The Halekulani hotel on Waikiki Beach so we walked from our hotel. It shares an outdoor space with the hotel's other restaurant "House without a Key," which had live Hawaiian music and elegant hula dance-- a treat we were not expecting but really enjoyed! We were able to catch an amazing sunset, and enjoy the view of Diamond Head.We made our reservation for our party of 10 ahead of time, and they let me know they could accommodate a vegetarian guest. The first arrived with a bread basket, which included focaccia, white bread, olive bread-- and came with dipping oil, balsamic, herb butter, and some olives. There are 5 vegetarian appetizers, we went with the Roast beet salad (colorful and bright), Burrata (creamy yum), and Eggplant Parmesan (definitely the chef's take on eggplant parm. It's not what you'd typically picture but the flavor was superb). For vegetarian mid course, we ordered Cacio e Pepe (which was just perfect) and Asparagus Truffle Tortelli (looks like a ravioli, stuffed with asparagus puree topped with truffle shavings. It was good but I like the first pasta better personally). For a vegetarian side, we ordered the goat cheese mashed potatoes, it came unusually late, as most had finished their Mains, but was cheesy and lovely. There is no vegetarian/vegan Main listed on the menu but the waiter offered me the Chef's Grilled Vegetable plate (vegan, gluten free)-- it was well cooked, well seasoned and a generous variety. They brought the birthday person a slice if their famous coconut cake-- it was a fluffy sweet delight. They also brought us complimentary olive oil mini cakes (one for each of us!)-- a lovely dessert bite.

Yelp
The food and view here is amazing! Everything was so delicious and we enjoyed all the offerings very much. It was beautifully displayed and presentation was on point. They have such a great variety of food from steaks to seafood. The desserts need their own mention. So beautiful and yummy!

Yelp
Apologies for this late entry, but felt it's important... Orchids is one of the Best restaurants for lunch and especially dinner. From the food, drinks, service and ambiance, you can't beat it. Also, if you time your dinner reservation for the evening sunset, it's magical! Jeff took great care of us and the food from the salads, bisque, special Mediterranean entree menu selections and Halekulani specialty desserts were all excellent. And the prices are very reasonable for the first-class experience you receive. Even valet parking is complimentary (at least a $5 tip, please). We need to work Orchids into our dining rotation more often - while other pricey eateries are slipping, Orchids has maintained its dining and service standards. Keep up the great job, Orchids!

Yelp
Orchids is worth it. If you're going to splurge on a dinner in Waikiki, this is it. PARKING Valet parking at the Halekulani resort is validated. Hooray, and thanks for not saying anything snarky about my Toyota Corolla rental as I squeeze in with those Maseratis! SERVICE The service leans toward formal but in a gracious and white-glove-style manner. They let us change tables a few times because my mom wanted the perfect location and hardly seemed ruffled. VIEW/AMBIENCE This is really what you're paying for. Get a table at sunset on the patio and enjoy both the music from House Without a Key just across the lawn, while watching the ocean. FOOD The food doesn't have to be as good as it is - usually resort restaurants with killer views can get by on mediocre food, but we were impressed. There's a lot of pride in what they make here. My mom loved it so much, we came back for lunch the next day!

Yelp
One of the top buffets we've had in HI, though we mainly have gone to the Christmas Day brunches. The selection and quality of choices are hard to beat, although I don't think most of our group eats enough to justify our cost, but that's mostly on us. But we're down to give it our best shot! Most of the food is served by staff, directed by you. There was a small variety of salads, but that's not what we came for lol. The raw seafood included a variety of poke and toppings, sashimi, oysters, and a sushi bar. The cooked seafood included shrimp cocktail, lobster tails, snow and king crab legs, and crawfish. The lobster was okay, but I prefer mine softer and poached in butter. Actually that goes for most food! Haha. There were both ramen and omelette stations, plus prime rib, ribs, and roast turkey, suckling pig, and lamb. Unfortunately we only were at the last seating this time, so they had run out of popovers. They probably would have made some if we'd asked, but there were more than enough other choices to compensate, including waffles, eggs benedict, and chowder you could order. As always their coffee was delicious, but I limited myself to 3 cups since it was late afternoon. Other drink choices included Prosecco, iced tea and tea, and guava, pineapple, cranberry, or orange juices. My favorite part of the buffet was of course the desserts! The selection was outstanding, they should provide larger plates since there were so many! I can't recall them all, but there were at least 10-12 different ones, plus 4 kinds of ice cream plus toppings at the ice cream station. My favorites included the gingerbread macaroons, festive chocolates, chocolate cake with ganache and raspberry filling, mousse, pear tart, and peppermint ice cream. As always the servers here were very gracious and helpful. We hope to return next Christmas, if not sooner!

Yelp
Dined at Orchids for the first time with my bf for our fifth year anniversary--impeccable service, food, and ambiance. Located in the Halekulani, Orchids is one of several restaurants that the hotel has to offer, and doesn't disappoint. As an open-air restaurant, Orchids provides a stunning view of the ocean, and our 6:00 PM reservation allowed us to enjoy a delightful sunset (without the overbearing glare from the sun's rays). We opted for ala carte, and ordered the following: prime beef filet tartare, Keahole lobster bisque, grilled octopus gallega style, veal loin scalloppine, and truffle parmesan fries. Bubble bath bellini, and the violetto were our beverages of choice. Unprompted, the waiter offered to split the bisque into two servings, and our meal was also accompanied by a complimentary amuse bouche from the chef and small dessert bite, along with the usual bread basket. Service was attentive and thoughtful, without being overbearing. To conclude the evening, we also received a complimentary slice of the Halekulani's signature coconut cake--the best I've ever had! Orchids is easily now one of my favorite restaurants on Oahu.

Yelp
The first mistake we made was not staying at the Halekulani where Orchids is located. This is a beautiful setting with two excellent restaurants and notable bar. We actually considered enduring the hassle of packing up everything at the Marriott and heading back to this resort for our final night. We arrived just before 645 p.m. and captured some stunning sailboat framed sunset photos. (Attached) The service at Orchids is designed to be Michelin standard worthy. We had two attentive servers. The chef first sent out a tiny edible cup of trout with a creamy cheese filling. My wife enjoyed both, once I noticed them topped with disgusting fish eggs. For starters, the tomato soup is top-notch and the hamachi was one of my wife's top three most delicious she's ever had. Because hamachi is inherently raw and gross, I'll never report on this dish being at the top of anything for me... other than a yucky poo poo list. As for main courses, I had the short rib filled ravioli that was topped with several pieces of extremely tender short rib and she had the shrimp/scallop entree' with it presented kabob-style on a slice of homemade crust-free bread. The portions are not hearty, but certainly not skimpy. Finally, this wonderful culinary experience ended with their crown jewel 'signature' coconut cake. Moist, light, and very coconutty. Devoured in less than 3 minutes.

Yelp
I anxiously Celebrated "Thanksgiving" with a brunch at the ORCHIDS Restaurant at the Halekulani Resort Hotel in Waikiki with my eldest daughter, Janelle, After this same daughter introduced me to this hidden "5-Star Gem " restaurant for my "73rd" birthday this year I simply had to have a legitimate reason to dine on one of the BEST QUALITY dinning experiences located at a hotel restaurant off the beaten path in one of the world's TOP tourist destinations in Hawaii. From the variety of "HOT and CHILLED" entrees to the extraordinarily kind and courteous waitstaff who were constantly filling my water to changing out of my used utensils for fresh clean ones. I have to mention that the "CARVING" Station had the longest line waiting for perfectly roasted meats (Lamb, Pork Loin, whole Turkey, Prime Rib Roast). The "Chilled" dishes comprised of Raw Oysters, Shrimp Cocktail, Sashimi slices, Sushi (Hamachi, Ika, Tako, Ebi, Sake, Unagi, Toro, Egg Roll, etc.), Snow Crab Legs, Mini Lobster Tails, Steamed Clams and Mussels together, Steamed New Baby Potatoes, Ears of Corn. The dessert island was just as impressive comprised of a variety of miniature pastry tarts, Pumpkin Pie, Butter Croissants, Coconut Cream Pie and this year I noticed a entire station devoted solely to Ice Cream in a variety of flavors and toppings. Did I mention that the entire "OPEN -AIR" restaurant is facing Waikiki Beach and the Pacific Ocean ~ Originally I was seated on the "lanai-seating" but due to the direct SUNLIGHT I requested a seating change into the covered seating area where the temperature was far more comfortable because it was directly under the hotel's ceiling. The waitstaff was extremely accommodating and found an alternate location to sit almost immediately ~ They even insisted on transferring all of our food laiden dishes themselves and not ourselves. There were "2" fluted Champagne glasses already on our table with all of the multiple silverware cutlery ~ A generous pour of sweet bubbly Apple Cider filled our glasses and the ice water was already filled with ice cubes ~ With the fresh crisply ironed WHITE table cloth and napkins it was top notch. The next "2" hours was amply filled with my many repeated visits to practically every buffet offering there were. I went away completely "SPENT" and "FILLED" to bursting and my only "regret" was that my stomach had no more room for any more delicious delights ! ! !

Yelp
Celebration lunch Such a warm and lovely greeting from the pretty & friendly gals up front. Followed by professional, yet relaxed, attentive servers. Started with the yummy tomato soup served with focaccia ( an herb slice and another topped with tomato with herbs ) loved this with the olive oil, balsamic dip. Off to a great start! I had the Asian fish with ginger scallions, shiitake mushrooms (shoyu, oil based sauce) sitting atop won bok. I'm not a fish person. Not fond of  sashimi or poke. However when I have tried fish from those who prepare it right, it's delicious! So when I dine in places where I KNOW the chef has serious skills...I'll try a fish dish. Absolutely amazing!!  When you get a non fish person to LOVE the fish dish you KNOW its wonderful!!   Fish was moist with delicious flavor. I'm sensitive to MSG but I had NO problems. My hubby had the penne with salmon. Maybe I should say SALMON with penne? There were so many delightfully flavored salmon chunks! I had a taste!! Again, I'm not fond of fish yet, these fish entrees were so yummy! To end my BD meal, my most favorite cake! Their signature coconut cake.  Light as air and not too sweet. When we don't have time for this leisurely lunch, will visit bakery accross the street for a slice of this coconut cake  & coffee. They also have a slew of crisp and moist baked goods with great coffee! Perfect for a light breakfast. Thank you Dillon & Luis for a wonderful BD lunch! It was Excellent & very HAPPY! Will be trying House Without A Key soon...and that Lewers Lounge I passed by while having afternoon tea in December! Mahalo!!

Yelp
Having dinner here was beautiful. The service was top flight. We had a Oceanside table, which was very nice. Look at it. Diamond mountain they had live music across the grass playing area for the kids when they get tired of sitting at the table the food was very high-quality, the overall experience of this restaurant restaurant was great.

Yelp
I love the high noon tea at the Halekulani Hotel. Service excellent, ambiance excellent, food quality is superb. I make it a must for high noon tea when I'm in town . I highly recommend it .

Yelp
Orchids is located inside the Halekulani hotel in Waikiki. They are known for the brunch and the stunning views of the ocean. I highly recommended trying the popovers and the local jams. Be sure to make reservations in advance. The waitstaff is attentive and everything feels like white glove service. I have never had a bad meal and I have been many times, my only issue is it tends to be pricey (but to be expected given the location and views).

Yelp
We went to dinner at Orchid at Halekulani. We made a reservation for 5:45pm and enjoyed the view. For appetizers, we had lobster bisque and beef tartare. Andre had seafood lasagna, grilled tiger shrimp and scallops. All of the dishes were made to bring out the flavor of the ingredients. It was delicious and had great service, so we recommend it for special occasions with loved ones.

Yelp
We decided to visit our wedding venue for our anniversary. Three types of bread was served with olives, butter, and balsamic vinegar/olive oil. My husband and son really enjoyed their entrees, but my cioppino was a bit bland. The coffee tiramisu was surprisingly presented in a spherical shape with a gold garnish. The young staff members were very friendly and courteous. Thank you to Jet for offering to take photos of our family!!

Yelp
We had our wedding dinner reception here and it was amazing! The view was so beautiful with diamond head in the background. I was a bit nervous about the pre fixed menu but everything was delicious and at the end they gave us a complimentary dessert saying congratulations. The staff was so attentive and friendly. They truly made our night special.
