I love coming here for produce. They typically have better quality produce over the big name branded grocery stores. I also like that the store is a very big size and has a lot of different inventory. Overall, I am happy to have this grocery store in my neighborhood and I hope it always stays.

Google
Just a little reminder if you shops in oregon market in philadelphia please check your receipt before you go, this happened to me many times, And i feels i need to share this experience because it happened to my husband too. They overcharged two jasmine rice for actually one, and my husband went back to the cashier lady who just laughed and asked if he wanted to return the rice without apologizing. I started to think maybe this is the way they do the business to scamming customer. Imagine how many people let thisovercharge go without they knowingness

Google
Be careful people when shopping here because the sign said one price and the checked out price is higher. When I asked the cashier about the different in price and the respond was I don't care if you want to get it or not. Bad experience. When I voice my concerns and others shoppers said that it is common practice here. Will not come back to this business.

Google
Their prices are so reasonable. We get all our beef from their oxtails steak and ribs

.I want to share a little about my experience: as an Asian American, I've sometimes felt overlooked in this space. There have been moments when the store closes unexpectedly while I'm still shopping, and it can be disconcerting when the lights go out as I'm navigating my cart. I’ve also encountered some rude behaviors from staff, especially in the back where the poultry is handled, which can feel quite challenging. It’s disheartening to think that respect might vary based on background; everyone’s contribution, including my spending, matters. I believe in a welcoming environment for all, where every shopper feels valued and appreciated.

Google
If you fancy live lobsters or live crabs you can always buy them here. They also have so many different kinds of fresh vegetables such as leeks, etc. The price is reasonable and the service either at the fish section or at the cash registers is always on time or fast.

This market is cold as hell in the winter time. I heard the owner wants to save money so he isn’t turning on the heat. Wear a winter jacket and glove when you come here

Oregon Market in Philadelphia is an absolute treasure trove for food lovers! This bustling Asian market offers an incredible array of fresh produce, meat, and seafood that will inspire your next culinary adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or a curious foodie, you’ll find something to excite your palate. The friendly staff and the vibrant atmosphere make every shopping experience here a pure joy. It’s a must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates the richness of diverse, fresh, and authentic ingredients!

Yelp
Definitely an old and crustier Asian store, however they have a lot of ingredients of what many Southeast Asian cuisines require. The store could definitely use a remodel or at least TLC. Even the parking strip mall that it is in looks sad. Regardless of these less important negatives, the prices are average and the stock seemed to be good!

Mei T.

Yelp
This is one of those older Asian markets that carry all of the essentials. Prices were reasonable and the selections were decent. The store was a bit messy and smelly. When you walk through the front entrance, you can smell fish from the seafood section. The seafood section was at the back of the store, but the smell was still quite prominent.

Shelly V.

Yelp
Cost effective & many options Various mushrooms not found in regular grocery stores. Fresh fruits and vegetables Spices Herbal Tea Seaweed & MANY OTHER OPTIONS

Aimy T.

Yelp
I don't know why Taiwanese stuff is so hard to find at Asian groceries but this one has Tai Sun grass jelly and Chin Chin brand aiyu jelly (the yellow one)! I've been to multiple stores in the area and couldn't find these things although H-Mart sometimes has Chin Chin. I also liked the selection of dry noodles. So maybe I'm biased, but 5 stars for stocking what the competition doesn't have. Otherwise this is your typical Asian grocery store!

Ren N.

Yelp
Lots of affordable Chinese vegetables and Asian produce, products, mostly imported for your everyday needs. The place is large, organized, doesn't smell bad. Has good parking right out front. Would recommend to avoid weekends as the line goes all the way to the back, and the cash registrars are not that fast compared to other markets and people tend to come in families with a lot to buy. By the check out counter there are freshly made sticky rice, buns, noodles that you can eat right away Come check it out

Retna S.

Yelp
If you spend $25 or more you can get free gift. Just show your receipt to the person near the exit. I can find packaged jackfruits and rambutan at this store.

Ceil D.

Yelp
If I go, its only a few times a year just to buy frozen dumplings, tea, prepackaged goods. I try my best to avoid the fish area.

Susan D.

Yelp
Love the selection & prices but the workers are shady AF. Check the labels before you check out -here's lean ground pork that was supposed to be 1.99/lb ‍

Sophia I.

Yelp
A surprisingly good Asian market, despite the grungy exterior (and interior to be honest). I was a little wary when entering, but after browsing & finding more and more items I just had to buy... I decided this place was a classic don't judge a book blah blah blah. The produce was fresh & cheap. A large assortment of odd beverages that tickled our fancy and our funny bones. A great selection of sauces. Good quality miso. Lots of snack-y items. Fresh seafood & what looks like a roasted meat station as well. The check-out process was a little slow, but there were plenty of interesting items at the register to peruse. I think if you show your receipt to the guy near the exit, you can score freebies (depending on how much you spend). I was too shy to do this, but I saw others walking out with cookies, eggs etc. Another bonus about this market is that it is located in a little plaza with a decent banh-mi shop, a great pho restaurant & some other beauty type places as well. You can definitely get a lot done here. Plus the parking was easier to deal with than some of the Washington Ave markets for sure.

Weijie S.

Yelp
Did not provide free paper bags. Super inconvenient. Showed 2 pomegranate was $7 without saying a single one was higher. Actually charged me $3.99

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Cashier all nice but the young lady manager with long hair is very rude and doesn't have any manner at all. As manager you didn't give a good example to the worker

Bob J.

Yelp
Went here today to browse and get some fresh fish. The fish counter prep area is absolutely filthy, the inside storage areas are very dirty. They're more pricey than the regular Asian markets, like the one on 6th & Washington Ave, but this place had some serious hygiene issues. Wouldn't ever buy anything perishable is this dirty, disheveled store!

Gerald S.

Yelp
Oregon Market appears to be the sibling of Vietnamese market in the Wing Phat Shopping Mall at 11th and Washington, although perhaps a bit cleaner and easier to navigate. It is connected via the small inner space between stores to the Pho Ha Saigon restaurant, so it is convenient to shop and eat (or vice versa). It always amazes me who much more variety of produce these Asian grocers have than the typical American supermarket. Green leafies from peas, cabbage, lettuce, and every other form of vegetation are washed and bagged for consumption with any one of a score of sauces that go so well with the sautéed end product that is often just discarded in the West. What's more significant is that it all tastes great fresh from the wok. Quite an eye opener. The fresh fish is ready for inspection and selection. The boxes of live Blue Claws await their delectable demise. If you wonder if there is MSG in your dishes in Chinatown, just walk down the spice aisle and choose from among several large cans and boxes of the white powder. It is more prevalent than salt. If you buy enough, when you go to the cashier you will be offered a free bottle or box of whatever they have in surplus that day.

Elva L.

Yelp
I love this supermarket. By far the cleanest of all the Asian supermarkets in South Philly (Big 8 on 16th & Wash Ave is Disgusting). Oregon is brightly lit with well organized and w i d e aisles. Prices and selection here are better than Wash Ave counterparts. My mom bought some excellent looking yellow chives here (they are somewhat hard to find). Not long after I went to First Oriental on 6th and Wash Ave and their yellow chives were disintegrating inside the plastic covers and making brown-yellow slime marks on the clear plastic (barf). There's abundant parking (I've circled the parking lot of Hung Vuong on 11th & Wash Ave and left before because of how impossible it was). The cashiers are really nice. They offered me a coupon for $10 off when my mom bought over $100 worth of stuff. Hung Vuong only gives you like a bottle of fish sauce or a sleeve of wafer cookies if you spend a certain amount but 1) it's unclear how much money you have to spend to qualify, 2) if you buy anything in bulk they don't count it (???), and 3) if you use Amex they won't give you anything lol. The one caveat to Oregon's coupon is that it's staggered, meaning you can only spend it in the month designated in print. But this shouldn't be an issue if you come here so often as once a month. They also don't have a "minimum spend" when you cash the coupon. I think I paid ~$6 for the balance after I used the $10 off. This was basically a review of Big 8, First Oriental and Hung Vuong in addition to Oregon Market because I'm so awfully lazy. But anyway. I did skim some of the other (especially bad because schadenfreude) reviews and I'm happy to say I never got a lecture (in Chinese or otherwise), overcharged or had my credit card information stolen remotely. So my recommendation is to go here, but as with anything your miles may vary I suppose.

Cynthia L.

Yelp
They give out gifts if you purchase a certain amount of products. Semi-friendly cashiers. Connected to a mall. Food products are fresh. Snacks are of good quality. A bit expensive than most other places.

Alex X.

Yelp
The end of South Philly, PA I do like this asian mart. It is well stocked. It just seems to have all the fresh veggies I need and good selection too. I bought my electric rice pressure cooker from here. They have a lot of Asian sauces to choose from as well.

Lene P.

Yelp
I'm not too sure how new this market is, but they still had all the "grand opening" decorations up. This market seems to be predominantly Vietnamese. Everything looks nicely laid out, there is a huge produce section in the middle of the store, right at the entrance. There is a meat section, a little buffet if you want a quick bite, and fresh seafood. Their frozen section had some Filipino foods, like longanisa and tocino. This market looks really nice, I hope to come back and get more cooking ingredients.

Paul L.

Yelp
This chain store (even with different names) was apparently opened by a NYC proprietor who insist on having a truck delivering fresh produce daily from NY instead of using wholesale products. The end result is that neighborhood around his store gets to access to a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. (Yay!) It's definitely better than the Pathmark, Shoprite or Superfresh nearby. Especially because the produce and meats here are way more affordable, and if you're Asian forget about it. I know of people living in Delaware (the State, not the county) that would specifically drive up here for groceries. Yes, they have a wide variety of Asian products that are comparable or even better quality than the ones in Chinatown and that's saying something. It's usually clean and relatively odorless (unless you're near the meats and fishes) Even I live in Center City, I still think this is a good option to come for hard-to-find items.

Karen F.

Yelp
Not as clean anymore (somehow I KNEW that would happen) but still a great place for fresh dragonfruit, enoki mushrooms, many varieties of vermicelli, sauces and other Asian staples that you just don't see in the Ack-a-mee. Fresh bean sprouts and frozen Har Gow (shrimp dumplings) were on today's list!

Hayley Sara B.

Yelp
...could it really be this clean and organized? Although this market is a bit of a shlep compared to the ones on Washington Ave., shopping here is a very pleasant experience and it's well worth the trip. The produce is fresh and nicely arranged, and they have a large selection of Kim Chi...mmmmm. They also have interesting fruits and a great candy/cookie aisle! *very impressed* Also, riding 7th street all the way down was super interesting and you get to pass through various ethnic enclaves...love it.

Benjamin D.

Yelp
Two Words: Fresh Produce. I got a whole basket full of different vegetables and fruit, and it was about 10 bucks cheaper than the local grocery chain. I bought 2 lbs of chicken breasts and the item barely broke $6. I also found something i hadn't been able to find anywhere else: Arrow Root flour, not even whole foods had this. This place is still very clean, but is starting to get that Asian grocery store smell that I've become very familiar with from that dank joint on Washington. Still, they have some regular brand name stuff , an attached hoagie shop, and prepared foods inside. All in addition to a HUGE parking lot. My only gripe is that I had a hard time finding a shopping basket, and it wasn't even busy.

Elisabeth Y.

Yelp
Like the other reviewers said, this place has excellent and cheap fresh produce- most every vegetable and fruit you would need plus some more exotic items (enoki mushrooms, lotus root, etc) that you wouldn't ordinarily find elsewhere. The refrigerated/frozen sections and the non-perishable aisles are a very interesting mix of "EW, GROSS" and "that looks delicious." The array of vegetarian items is astounding- all kinds of mock meat, vegetable dumplings, and more. I don't often make it down to Oregon Market, but I always bring home a lot of fun and unusual foods. This would be a great place for me to remember to visit next time I have a party!

Jenn N.

Yelp
Usually pretty good and is my go to, but there are some rude workers here. I wanted to buy live blue crabs and the ones they have out were barely moving or dead. I asked a worker in the seafood section to open another bushel and he said no and also proceeded to give me a lecture in Chinese, I'm not Chinese. Any who, I'll probably stick to south Philly from now on, more options.

Reggie B.

Yelp
I buy the majority of my food here. It's way cheaper than pathmark for vegetables and meats (not things like condiments, tho). Most everyone speaks more than enough English so that you won't have a problem. There is some kind of purchasing system I haven't been able to figure out in 4 years of going here. Sometimes they look at your receipt on the way out and based either on how much you spent or maybe specialty items you bought? You'll get free give away items that are stacked near the front door. Sometimes I get things, sometimes I dont.... no idea why. They also have no types of cheese, but that's kinda to be expected.

Autumn E.

Yelp
Eating more tofu, I love that they have the "restaurant size" packages! So much for 3.99! This is the only place I've been able to reliably find fresh jackfruit each summer- they also have great prep for holidays! My favorite parts of this store are the mochi section and the bakery--- so many baked good to explore!

Mimi L.

Yelp
I grocery shop here all the time. Fresh veggies, meats and asians spices. I know what exactly I am looking for here. The place is a large concrete warehouse style. lol. Not a pretty site but aisle of asian fruits, veggies, spices and drinks. You can't go wrong if you know what you are looking for. The staff here is pretty friendly. Smile and ask... they will service you.

Stephen C.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place since it opened up a few years ago. It out of my way, but its one of the better Asian markets around. The selection of foods are vast and inexpensive. The meats are fresh and cheaper than the markets on Washington Ave, and so are their veggies. The fruits can be hit or miss at times, but still better than other other places. This place can use a fine cleaning. Its not dirty dirty, but a good cleaning will spruce up the place alot. By the way they do sell roast duck, pig and pork. I liked the roast pig, wasn't like the places in Chinatown, but not bad, the roast duck and pork were to dry. Happy Eatings!!

Yimin Z.

Yelp
Plain frauds!!They charge you extra $$$$$$. I was shopping in a rush, and was not paying attention at the cashier. I bought 2 dumplings and they charged for 6. I ended paying $12+ more. Shame on them!!! Don't go!!!! They aren't even worth one star!!!

Melissa R.

Yelp
We found excellent prices on most things. Some deals were flat out amazing. The store was pleasant, things were easy to find and most items included English translation as well. The employees were friendly and personable, eager to help. I was delighted with how many choices there were for each type of item. I've never seen so many options for chili paste, noodles and tofu in my life. The pickled ginger had so many varieties that I will be making sushi for the next month! We were offered a free gift for spending over $25.00, they have several items to choose from. Everything from eggs to spring roll wraps to treats to fit your sweet tooth. Always nice when the owners give a little back and show appreciation for your business. I found it particularly impressive that the seafood deli area did not have a strong smell and everything looked and smelled fresh! I will definitely be buying fish here. I also appreciate that they buy from local farmers and growers to help support local economy. This is a strong motivator for me. Local typically means much fresher produce, and my produce I've bought from here lasted over a week even with the delicate items like berries and leafy herbs. That was a nice bonus. I'm sold on this market, its the best one I've ever been to even outside PA. And a definite pleasurable shopping experience.

Laura B.

Yelp
What a great place to shop for all things Asian. This place was recommended by a co-worker and sushi chef. Today I bought a little produce, frozen food, noodles and sweets. Next time I will check out seafood. Very friendly cashier, reasonably priced.

Andrea V.

Yelp
I'll admit that I was intimidated by this place for a while, thinking that everything on the shelves would be in writing that is beautiful, but totally incomprehensible to me, and the best I could do was guess what i was buying. To my pleasant surprise, most things have an English translation on them and I had a lot of fun exploring this market. As everyone else has said, the produce section is cheap and awesome and this place is a vegetarian's dream with tons of choices for fruit, veggies, noodles, tofu, meat substitutes, and other necessary products. There is a large meat and fish section and it smelled fine, leading me to conclude that everything is very fresh. I somehow missed the dumpling section that others have mentioned but will absolutely be going back without my exasperated boyfriend to spend another hour in this store.

JEAN S.

Yelp
One of my favorite grocery spots in the city. I can get lost in here for hours. The produce is fresh and cheap. This is my first stop if I am shopping for fish. There is an aisle of housewares that I browse for no less than ten minutes. I gross myself out looking in the meat department at meats I would have no idea how to prepare or eat, but its gross out in the best sense of the word. The candy aisle is colorful and mysterious. I stock up on dumplings and ice pops. I like to look at the little bakery racks up front and sometimes bring home these sponge cakes that my roommate thought were actually sponges. I don't always come home with cohesive meal ingredients, but I am always happy when I leave.

Courtney J.

Yelp
I love the Oregon Market! I go here for cheap veggies and to get ingredients any time I want to cook Thai or Vietnamese food. For Korean and Japanese items, though H-mart is still the best for selection. This place is way cheaper than H-mart though. I love that they sell so many kinds of tofu and dried shrimp. The produce is cheap and good. I always buy fresh green beans here because they are way cheaper than anywhere else I can buy them. The soy sauces and oils are way cheaper than H-mart too. If it was closer to me, I would go all the time. The place seems clean, and well stocked. Spices are also sold for super low prices, so I never buy them at a regular grocery store anymore. For the price of a tiny container of a McCormick spice, I can get a bag full here! So, if you want a bargain and want to cook some Asian food, this would be the place to go!

Brenna A.

Yelp
Great produce that lasts much longer than the average grocery store. Hard to navigate if you're only English speaking. Very friendly staff. HUGE selection of chili paste/sauce and all of the curry you could want. It seems like they have a nice meat/poultry/seafood selection.

Marissa B.

Yelp
Haven't really been able to see the full scope of the store because of the people I went in with being either immature (having a rice fight) or just being downright racist, but, they are cheap and I love their tea section.

Jason W.

Yelp
Finding out the hard way. I purchased two steam trays from this supermarket. It turns out to be too big, so I brought it back for refund. I found out that there's no refund so I was force to get a store credit or exchange for other merchandise. The no refund policy was not posted anyway in the store. It was printed on my receipt. Well, If had known before, I would do the measurement before buying it. I felt it's totally unfair, the no refund should be posted in the store not just printed on the receipt.

Carlo D.

Yelp
I've been going here since they opened the seafood is very fresh. They have every single brand and type of right here. Try the jasmine rice it's great. I have personally tried over 40 different types of tea here and I'm still trying more. The candy aisle is wonderful especially the Vietnamese brands candies. Any source you're looking for when cooking Asians food you will find here. There has to be at least 30 different types of oils here. The produce is very fresh here the vegetables and fruits are ready to eat. If you buy a combination of seafood and meet you there you will get a gift at the end of your purchase when you're leaving. I usually don't go on with my reviews like this but try them out.

Cobui Q.

Yelp
I heard about Oregon Market is a Asian foods market. So today I have a chance to stop and thinking to buy some Asian foods for my family. After I have selected and pick what I needed as included 5 white peaches (5/$5 = sigh showed). When I got in the line and waiting the cashier to scan my foods, she (cashier) took the peaches put on the scale and weigh them, I said "there was a sign 5 for $5", she turned around and looked at a tall young man close by (seem this young man is a supervisor/or manager, always stand by around all the cashiers). He walked to the cashier and took the peaches away, and did not give me a word. I asked the cashier why he did that, the answer was he does not want to sale. I was very surprised the action of this young manager. may be he thought he still living in China area.

Andrew T.

Yelp
Usually I like this store but recently I figured that a lot of the products that they have here are expired. We were trying to be different sauces and other products but reluctantly found out Most of the product that we picked up were expired. We were struggling to find a product that wasn't expired. So when shopping here, you should check all the expiration date of everything you buy.

Makiya M.

Yelp
I would do all my shopping here again if I could, I used to live 5 blocks away from this grocery, now I live 6 miles away. Every time I show up with a large shopping list I get to the register and gawk at the amount of stuff in my basket. I think to myself 'holy cow! this is probably going to be over $50!' and when the cashier finishes ringing everything up it turns out it's under 35! The employees are always pleasant and as helpful as they can be (since some of them are not very good at understanding English yet) Oregon also has a huge selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh meat and poutlry and fish(there's a tank and they swim around!), noodles, tea, spices, sauces, cookies, candies, frozen foods and loads of different rice. there's a section in the rear of the store where they sell pots, pans, utensils, flatware, brooms, step stools and other household items. To sum up, Oregon Market has just about everything I need and is very affordable. This is the only place where grocery shopping is fun for me and I miss being right down the street from it. I love you Oregon Market!

Jen A.

Yelp
If you are looking for anything ASIAN...GO here. they have fresh chow fun restaurant style noodles that are pre-cooked and you can make your own stir fry with it! Cheap veggies and seafood..it's a must-go. So fun too..huge fishes in tanks and frogs! hahha

Phoebe Q.

Yelp
This has got to be one of the worst grocery shopping experience I have ever had. A 1-star rating really is too generous and mostly overturned by the good quality of the fresh produce. If it were for the service, or lack of, it should receive "-10" stars. The staff was rude and acting angry for whatever reason. There was an internet glitch at the time we were checking out, my CC wouldn't get processed despite of my signing off etc. I was asked to swipe my card again, not with apologies, but with demanding words and angry tone of voice from the young woman cashier. When I questioned if I would be double charged, she looked me as if she could shoot me had she has a gun in her hand. I followed her demand and signed the 2nd time. Without ever looking at me, she then handed a receipt of the total amount that I spent rather than the normal long strip of itemized receipt, and was told that I had to go to the custom service to get it and subjected to be charged again. I then walked over to cashier #1, which was supposed to be the "custom service", a man or a woman (can't tell) snared at me and demanded to empty my items and go through scanning again if I wanted the itemized receipt, and in the meantime offered to lecture about what an internet service provider is and telling me that Verizon is one of them that provides the service. All through this whole ordeal, no one ever said "sorry" or "thank you", which would be expected anywhere else. But I guess it is not in the staff's vocabulary when they deal with customers, only snare, angry stare or no looking at all. We left the store feeling insulted and mad, and swear that would be our last trip there ever. If a business wants to be successful, it must learn the art of custom service. Otherwise, a place like this store is nothing but a regrettable example for having poor or negative service, and it is doomed to fail.
