We did the zipline and enjoyed it so much! Had lunch in the cafe, service is not the greatest, but not the worst, chicken burger was delicious. Food is really expensive here!! We also did the bird feeding, I paid for our bowl of bird feed and had a young woman help herself to our bird feed that i purchased for me and my son. Im not sure people are aware that they need to pay for their own and not helo themselves to someone else's thing they paid for.

We recently spent two nights. The accommodation was spacious and of classic style with an incredibly comfy bed. Gorgeous view down into the valley with amazing interaction with the local birds that come to visit. The rainforest and wildlife are an amazing experience. There are plenty of activities if you choose, or enjoy hiking the many tracks. Staff are friendly and helpful everywhere. We just loved our stay and hoping to get back soon. 😃😃

We stayed at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat for a weekend leading up to the Christmas holidays, and in many ways it delivered exactly what you hope for from a rainforest escape. The rooms are excellent, and the surrounding birdlife is truly something special. Waking up to birdsong and sharing the balcony with curious feathered visitors is a highlight and easily one of the most memorable parts of the stay. If you love nature, this aspect alone is worth the trip. We booked the full room-and-food package. While the convenience was appreciated, the food itself ranged from okay to average and didn’t quite match the premium price point. Service was also inconsistent. One day the staff made you feel genuinely welcomed and well looked after, and the next day the experience felt rushed or disengaged. One morning breakfast was moved to the pavilion, which unfortunately turned into a bit of chaos. Birds were actively trying to eat off plates, and it was uncomfortable watching management appear more focused on their own meals than on managing the situation or guest experience. It pulled you out of what should have been a relaxed start to the day. Pricing is on the high side, particularly for food and coffee, though to be fair this feels fairly standard across Australia at the moment. Still, at these prices, expectations are naturally higher. Overall, it’s a lovely place to stay with an incredible natural setting and unforgettable birdlife. With more consistent service and a stronger food experience, O’Reilly’s could easily turn a nice getaway into a truly special one.

We didn't stay in the retreat so can't comment on that but...we had coffee on the balcony overlooking the valley, absolutely beautiful spot. The old tree top walk could use a bit of maintenance, parts were closed off and the botanical gardens could also use some TLC. Would be happy to pay a small fee if it meant these were kept in better shape. Always fun to feed the birds and the picnic area was lovely.

It was our third time spending holiday time in this retreat. The weather and temperature was so nice during summer (16-20 degrees) mid summer. A few trekking routes suits my 4 year old and there many activities to do such ad Echo Rangers sessions for kids, bird feeding, ping pong, Billiards, hot and cold pools and sauna.

O'Reilly's is paradise. Beautiful, friendly birds. Great facilities and walking tracks. The villa accomodation is well equipped. The infinity pool is wonderful. It's best to bring your own food because options are limited and quite costly. A special thank you to Ava and Peter for fantastic Eco Ranger sessions!

Beautiful location next to Lamington national park which is the main reason to come here as I have done regularly for over 30 years. The staff are nice, from all over the world. Less local experience for advice on tracks etc now though. ||Accommodation is nice, some rooms have cooking facilities. Plenty of activities available. Laundry facilities. ||EV charging (1 Tesla type 2 charger and several 10amp sockets available. Unfortunately the Tesla charger is frequently ICED by O’Reilly’s own vehicles. ||It’s a remote location so understandably food is expensive. However the quality has declined progressively over the years. The menus and prices on the App don’t correlate with reality (menu photos attached).||The dining room: nice space and can see the animals feeding at night. Used to provide 3 course good quality à la carte dinner menu but has been dumbed down and now the only option is a buffet for $70 a head not including drinks. ||One crazy thing is booking a table for dinner: Reception wouldn’t do it so referred us to an iPad on the counter to do it ourselves despite being the only people at reception. This is just a webpage link to OpenTable so you have to fill in all the usual personal information fields it requires for a booking every time. Insane! Did it once and never again. Too much hassle to end up with a poor meal. ||The breakfast buffet in the dining room is good and better value at $40 a head. ||The rooftop bar has a limited menu. The food quality is better there, freshly cooked, not sitting in a bain-marie like the dining room buffet.||The cafe isn’t open for dinner but is ok for lunch. |TIP sit down, order and pay at the table using the QR code and it is delivered to your table. Can order at the counter also but you then get a beeper and have to go and pick up your food yourself. ||There is some craziness with buying wine. In the dining room, bar, cafe or room service a bottle is about $60 for one of the O’Reilly’s wines.| Buying at the shop, to take to the room, the same bottle is about $35 and a few feet away in the gift shop it is $28!||TIP. Check what you are charged in the shop as the billing system gives a different price to what the sticker says for wine at least as it seems to default to the dine-in price.||TIP Do some self catering and bring food and wine with you. ||TIP Pay as you go for meals etc rather than charging to the room, costs the same but avoids endless docket signing, delays and paper waste. Also means checkout is quick; just drop the keys and go. Reception isn’t super-efficient. ||Rainforest canopy suites are great.

Google
In one word : Bird watchers' Paradise Driving: It was easy and not very challenging. The roads were well marked, not much traffic, no steep curves. Experience: It was AWESOME! Though expensive, it was totally worth it. The king parrots and Crimson Rosella rule the retreat. The buffet breakfast and dinner was tasty. Lots of walking tracks starting from 800m to 10-12 km walk.

Yelp
One of my favorite days of the whole trip was our long car trip up into the mountains to come to O'Reilly's. This is a private business that's a welcome center, restaurant/cafe, and lodge with cabin style rooms to stay and enjoy the birds. Everything here is bird-centric and you'll see tons so if you love them, this is a must-stop. We only came for the day and started with a visit to the cafe for burgers and drinks. Even in the dining areas the birds will come up to you. The gift shop is large with lots of souvenirs. The highlight is buying a tray of bird seed, where you'll be immediately inundated with parrots and other birds fighting over the seeds. It's amazing to see them so close up. They have an airplane that tells the story of a crash on the mountain decades ago. They have restrooms as well. From the center, there is a forest walk that's worth it to get closer to nature. At the end there is a botanical garden you can explore, and a tree top walk with bridges pretty high up. On one especially tall tree, there are ladders that go into the canopy to get amazing views of the valley and far off mountains. It's worth the climb! If you're in the area, this is a must visit special place. You can either spend the day, or stay a night or two if you want to experience natural Australia.

Yelp
This place is amazing! In the middle of a world heritage site and national park is this fantastic resort with all of the amenities. Delicious food, 5star service, hiking trails, beautiful day with a pool overlooking the valley, shopping, a cafe, and nature walks and talks. What an incredible experience to get to stay here.

Yelp
We came over here from nyc and stayed at O'Reilly's for a few days. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the hikes around the retreat. The food was great as well. Get the garlic prawn pizza, it's so good that we had the same thing twice for dinner. Some of the wines at the O'Reilly winery were awesome too. The downside is that the WiFi didn't work in our room at all. When we asked about it, they gave us some bs excuse.

Yelp
Had coffee and cake. Excellent on both counts. Fresh cream. The location is just superb, the cafe is clean and the staff are friendly.

Yelp
Been coming up here every since I was a little boy, first with my parents. Later as a parent myself , bringing my children . It is so peaceful up here. You can smell the the fresh air of the rain forest, you can feel yourself d stressing from the circus they call the city. You can spread a picnic rug on the lush green grass and just chill. Very peaceful . Didn't bring the walking shoes, this time. They have beautiful walking tracks that wind throughout the plateau . With beautiful waterfalls.

Yelp
Wonderful location, activities and staff. Imagine waking up in the middle of the forest, and just breathing in the fresh air with the local birds saying hello to you on the balcony. It's almost like a Disney movie! Staff here are very friendly and pleasant. There's heaps of activities to do from Segway to flying fox and of course the treetop walk (climbing the ladder was an achievement!). There's plenty of included activities as well. Food was the let down. I didn't dine in the main restaurant. Mainly the bar, and it was pricey for what it was. Cocktail happy hours were great! Breakfast was substantial and had a large variety. The Lost World Spa is well worth a visit, and their cheese platter was crazy huge!!! Even if you don't go for a treatment, go for a dip in the infinity pool. If you don't want to walk to the infinity pool, you can always relax in the spa overlooking the valley. Amazing!!! Also educational as well with nightly films in the theatre. This place has it all, relaxation, adrenalin, education. Not sure what else you can include (perhaps a better menu).
