Orford's Sanda House Colonial B&B

Fiona and Peter were great hosts, very welcoming and friendly. The house is warm, a great vibe and relaxing. The gardens are beautiful- We loved it. We also enjoyed our breakfasts both mornings, the home-made fruit was delicious.||||The care and attention to every detail was evident in the flowers in our room and chocolates. From our first hello to last goodbye, Fiona and Peter made our visit enjoyable from the history of the building and introducing us to our room. Breakfast was excellent and a flower from the garden on the plate was a pleasant touch. Tours to Maria island are a short drive away and local dining establishments are within a 10 to 20 minute walk. Thanks again fora wonderful stay.

A wonderful home in picturesque gardens. Lots of character and charm. Hosts Fiona and Peter were wonderful. They went out of their way to make it a memorable holiday. Lots of special touches and care and great to chat about local attractions and history of the building. Highly recommend it as it was the best place we stayed at on our trip to Tassie.

Kerry & Greg were superb hosts and very pleasant to deal with. The accommodation has lots of character and is set in a beautiful spacious garden. It just takes a minute to feel at home. Cooked breakfast was one of the best I have had in a B&B. Bedroom is on the small side when you have large suitcases and bathroom is slightly cramped as well, but altogether I would definitely return.

What a beautiful property and lovely hosts! Surpassed our expectations. Lots of small thoughtful touches throughout. Beautiful garden to wander in. Very nice breakfast with home-grown fruit - what a highlight! We will definitely try and stay here next time we're travelling down the tassie east coast.

Brief stop only but it is historic being the oldest Colonial building in Orford and is described as "Orford's Sanda House is an adorable stone cottage, the oldest building in Orford, and is heritage listed. It was built between 1838 and 1840 from local field rocks and sandstone". Yes it looked old, well maintained.

This hotel is a time travel: you forget what year it is and where you are! The old stone building with incredibly cute and comfortable rooms. On top of that, Kerry and Greg serve a breakfast in style! Kerry makes jams, chutneys and many other delicious things out of fruit and vegetables they grow in the hotel’s garden. Attention to details, impeccable everything! Very high standards! Thank you, Kerry and Greg! We’ll be back. P.S. Recommend!!!

Completely unexpected surprise, we booked last minute as we found ourselves travelling through and it ended up a highlight of our holiday. The room was cosy and stunning and the grounds were lovely! Our hosts were most accommodating and very welcoming. 11/10

Truly amazing B&B in Orford. This is a historic home with charming hosts. The owners have paid every attention to detail in restoring this delightful B&B. These cost self contained rooms feel like they could be on the set of downtown abbey.
