Fontes Episcopi was the best lodging experience of our 5 stop trip around Sicily. Let’s start with the service, which we’d give 6/5 stars if possible. Michele, Kata, Sara and the rest of the staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel at home. We even left behind some valuables in the safe and Michele shipped them to our final stop in time for us to take them home. The food was excellent, and we’re so happy we ate 5 of our 6 meals at the hotel. The grounds are beautiful and clean and the main house is filled with cool artwork and other items. The pool is beautiful, but could use a few more seats when the resort is full. We stayed in one of the newly built rooms that are standalone suites and they are perfectly appointed and comfortable with a private mini courtyard for a private sitting area. The location is an easy 20-min drive from the Valley of the Temples, a must-visit when in Sicily. Tips: Keep in mind you are staying among nature, so there are some critters here and there, with a couple of small/harmless bugs that we shooed out of the room.

My husband and I have stayed in many hotels but this is a truly magical place, made more so by it's amazing staff, that we won't ever forget. So friendly, so helpful. Plus, it's just beautiful - whoever did the interiors and grounds has an amazing eye. The food was delicious, and made with love. Nothing showy, just fantastic wholesome cooking making the most of the in season local produce, and all the better for it. In fact so good and so varied we ate dinner all of our 5 nights there - something we never usually do in a hotel. Special shout out to Sarah, who really knows her Sicilian wine (which is great, as my husband is really into wine) and everyone in the kitchen. Plus also Simone (a contact of the hotel's), who gave us a really memorable and fascinating day's tour in a local village, where we learnt a lot of history and had lunch in a villager's home, something we could never have organised ourselves. Also the hotel for giving us a really interesting tour of the owner's beautiful olive groves a stone's throw from the Valley of the Temples, including the harvest and processing. Hotel was very clean, beds very comfortable, pool clean and with lovely areas to relax. The approach to the hotel may not be the most inspiring, but don't let this put you off - you can't help but fall in love with this hotel and forget it the minute you're through the gates.

Delightful countryside villa with an olive grove, home grown vegetables and wheat that they grind for flour. Very comfortable rooms. Homemade soaps. Very welcoming and helpful. Open kitchen so that you can see/help in cooking if you wish. Delicious breakfast buffet. |Nice to be able to walk around the property, animal enclosure and farm. ||Another group was also visiting while we were there and had booked a cooking class led by their own US-based chef. I would not eat at his restaurant—his dinner was bad. But, given the superior breakfast made by the house chefs, I would certainly try to eat in-house in the future as long as I knew no visiting chefs would be involved.||I would love to return—and to stay for more than one night. A great place to relax.

Wonderful stay in beautiful, peaceful setting. Very warm and helpful staff made us feel like family. Even helped out cooking in kitchen which is the focal point of the resort. Excellent food and accomodations. A great Sicilian experience!

We stayed here for two nights, It was a wonderful experience, We were recommended to stay at this hotel and really did not know what to expect. We were in Sicily for nine nights and this was one of the nicest, friendliest, and most comfortable, hotels during our vacation. The Staff went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable- We felt like it was our home. The grounds were beautiful and relaxing. We met the other guest at dinner, I think we all felt the same. Can not say enough about our time at Fontes Espicopi Thank you!!

Our stay at Fontes Episcopi was wonderful. The setting is beautiful, high above the city of Agrigento. The food is wonderful and fresh -- garden to table. We dined in on both evenings and enjoyed a completely different and equally delicious menu. We stayed in the new "bungalows," which we loved. They have private terraces and the design is crisp and lovely. But it is truly the staff that made this such a great experience. To a person, they were welcoming, pleasant and helpful in every way. Highly recommended!

Really welcoming and interesting hotel. High attention to detail, very stylish interior and exterior design. Not just a hotel, also an experience - with emphasis on delicious home cooked food (thanks Mama) with fresh ingredients, some of which comes from the farm. The pool area is really nice, the rooms are spacious and clean, most with private terraces. The staff were all smiling and easy to talk to, creating a nice atmosphere. Would def come back!

Hotel Review: A Perfect Stay We stayed at this hotel for four nights and absolutely loved every moment. It’s truly a place to relax and unwind, with a beautiful, well-kept venue that made our time there so enjoyable. The heart of the hotel is undoubtedly the kitchen. It’s a warm and welcoming space where guests can join in, cook, and chat with the lovely staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was a highlight each day, with a wide variety of local products and freshly homemade dishes that were simply delicious. We traveled with our 12-month-old son, and it was clear that the staff genuinely cared about making sure he was comfortable and happy. He had his best vacation here, surrounded by kind and thoughtful people. Out of all the places we stayed during our trip, this hotel was the best by far. We can’t recommend it enough, especially if you’re looking for a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.
