Organic Farm Resort Fontes Episcopi

This resort is the epitome of relaxation. Nestled in the hillside, it’s inviting and comforting. Staff was fantastic with nods to Flavia and Saira . The rustic charm with walks among olive trees and onsite kitchen serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food is prepared by chef Madelena along with assistance from guests during cooking classes. The wine selection is excellent. There is a beautiful swimming pool and spa services. Our room was a junior suite that was very spacious opening to a private courtyard with lounge chairs and further opening to a view of the countryside. Very peaceful, even during a thunderstorm. The food was excellent. We made pizzas in our cooking classes that the other guests got to eat for dinner. The dining room allows you to interact with other guests while enjoying fresh made food and great local wines. This is a can’t miss resort. It is rustic so expect caterpillars and small harmless lizards frolicking about but it just adds to the charm. Highly recommend.

I've been all over Europe and enjoyed many varied experiences, but my stay at the Fontes Episcopi was without a doubt the most memorable and enjoyable visit I have had in any of my accommodations. The moment the driver left us off, we were surrounded in a family-like atmosphere. The staff treated all of us like we were their grandchildren, catering to every need and anticipating our anything we could possibly desire.|The grounds of the villa were spectacular. Groves of olive trees enveloping the property were being harvested for this year's supply of extra virgin olive oil. Artichoke plants which had lived past their bloom were left standing along the road as both educational as well as decorative. The pool and patio which was surrounded by bushes of rosemary and lavender were permeated the air with what could only be described as heavenly and sublime. For these reasons alone, I would plan a return...but wait, there's more. |As our arrival to the villa was earlier than expected, around 1:20, the staff prepared an impromptu luncheon for us that would have tantalized the most finikey pallet. The fried cheese, followed by property olives, home made bread and oil, a plate of pasta with a pumpkin sauce (something I had never had before but loved) and a garden salad.|My wife and I took a cooking class with Madelena preparing the dinner for all the guests of the villa. The wood fired oven was ideal for creating a crunchy yet airy bread, and "cuddiruna" a small Sicilian pizza with anchovies and local cheeses. The bread was next with fava bean soup, followed by a chicken dish baked in white wine and herbs. Nothing was left to chance for any circumstance.|After racing around Sicily for 10 or so days, seeing every sight we could arrange to visit, a relaxing stay at the Fontes Episcopi is the ideal place to unwind for a few days before returning home.

Everything about Fontes Episcopi was marvelous. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Sicily. The grounds are lovely with an abundance of flowers, plants and olive trees. The staff are wonderful, friendly, inviting and charming. I didn’t want to leave. The bungalow we stayed in was spacious and beautifully decorated with muted colors. It was perfect. The food was especially delicious with cookies, cakes, etc. some of which my grandmother used to make. It was a marvelous experience.

Nothing short of a magical experience. We stayed one night and had a massage and did the ‘cooking class’. It was perfection. Each staff member is accommodating, kind, professional and welcomes you with a true Italian embrace. Stay here. It’s a great base to tour the south side of Sicily. A great place to have your soul recharged, to fall in love with life, to slow down. A place to make you appreciate life, your loved ones and all the other guests around you. Don’t sleep on staying here. It is a true gem. Thank you for having us ♥️

We recently stayed 2 nights at the property, approx 25 mins from Valley of the Temples, Agrigento and the reason we found ourselves in the area. We found the staff to be super friendly and helpful. Reception staff, Claudia, Michele, Sarah spoke excellent English. Reception staff also double as the waiters for dinner, We were in one of the new bungalows added in 2024. They are very spacious, king beds, large sofas which can also accommodate 2 children. Bathroom with walk in shower. Large patio area. Safe, mini bar, pay for what you drink, including bottled water. Day of arrival they do give you a carafe of water. Outdoor pool, spa on site, offering massages and facials. They use all natural products and I had an excellent customized facial which was prefect for my skin. Reasonable priced for a hotel. Cooking classes (approx 2 hours) are offered in the late afternoon to cook with Maddalena. Must be prebooked. You prepare the food that is served to your fellow guests for that evening. Breakfast is included in the room rate and is served from 830a-1030a each day. Fruit, cereals, breads, meat, cheese, pastries and eggs booked to order. Dinner is not included but is offered each evening from 8pm, it is a set menu, appetizer, pasta, main and desert. If you let them know your dietary restrictions they will let you know if they can cater to it. I requested vegetarian and it was catered to. Guests are from all over the world, during our stay we had Americans, Dutch, French, and Germans, and you have a chance to chat to your fellow guests over dinner if you wish. Some of the guests were dining out a night or 2 but given the resorts remoteness I would not recommend doing this unless you have a car and driver. GPS did get us lost a little bit in the area but we did find our way after a short detour, so be sure you download your maps in advance.

Fontes Episcopi is a very exceptional establishment! It is an organic farm. The staff is so very friendly! We felt so well taken care of ‘ The staff was amazing! We really loved Sara who was at the front desk and helping out at our evening meal! She was very outgoing and we loved her personality!

We had an exceptional stay at Resort Fontes Episcopi and enjoyed every moment. What makes this place truly special is its warm, familial atmosphere. The hotel is beautiful and all the people that work here are incredibly kind and welcoming. You genuinely feel right at home. It's a magical place where guests experience the very best of Sicilian hospitality, enjoy fresh, locally-sourced food and find all the ingredients for a truly memorable experience. I highly recommend it and surely will come back soon!

A little difficult to find for us, but so very worth the effort. Relaxing, incredibly beautiful and all organic food. A very special place to visit. Nearby an ancient city, Saint Angelo Muxaro is well worth the experience historically. The farm has olive groves and many fruit and vegetable gardens. Beautiful experience near Agrigento.
