Origin Coffee (Scoresby Street)

The baristas are friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable on coffee. You can be directed to the cup of your tastes, and the pastries are pretty good since they’ve changed (really love the lemon and poppy seed pastry!). Been here a few times now, so this review comes after a good couple of visits. Atmosphere of this place is lovely- it’s good for bringing friends, studying, etc. It’s a good mix, honestly- and free wifi.

The combination of relaxed atmosphere + good specialty coffee makes this place more than just a grab-and-go. The presence of filter methods (batch & pour-over) means you can slow down your coffee, which aligns with a relaxed visit. My batch brew Aponte was smooth, mellow, easy to drink. Place is good for solo visits, catching up with a friend, or even a casual work session. Ask the staff for the pour-over method they’re using (V60, Kalita, etc.) and for the flavour notes — they were friendly during my visit and seemed keen to share. Batch brew may change frequently — if you like a specific profile, ask when the next filter brew will be available or see if they allow you to pick your brew method. Overall Verdict If I were to score it in informal terms: This is a very good coffee shop : relaxed atmosphere, nice music, competent baristas, and filter coffee options. A recommended spot for a good coffee and chill session in London.

The coffee is unreal, really good speciality coffee shop & a roastery. Coffee is well made, milk jugs cleaned in between use and service is pretty nice. I love the transparency of how much coffee costs, and how they are supporting local farmers. Well done! Also a really nice place to get some laptop work done! My fave spot around Southbank ps love the latter art too!

i stopped into origin coffee randomly and was greeted with such kindness by the baristas david, sasha, and devon. also the myanmar beans were yummy in my flat white. amazing pastries too, i recommend the lemon poppy seed one.

I love Origin Coffee! Their attention to detail makes every visit special. The coffee and matcha are top-notch, and I really appreciate how they serve water with every order—it’s such a thoughtful touch, perfect for cleansing the palate and enhancing the flavors. Not sure if it’s also to counter caffeine’s dehydrating effects, but it’s a brilliant idea! The ambiance is cozy, the staff are friendly, and you can tell they’re passionate about their craft. Highly recommend this gem for anyone who loves a true specialty cafe experience!

Great flat whites with very nice cakes and cookies in a pretty fab coffee shop in a railway arch. The service was friendly and very good, and the venue atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. Origin Coffee Southwark is definitely worth the legwork if you are anywhere in the Southwark area - or even further out. Origin Coffee Southwark is now one of our staples to visit whenever we are in London.

Very good quality coffee in the central London. Served with cold water and description of the coffee grounds. Quite busy, sometimes no place to sit.

Great place for a quick coffee with a large variety of offerings and snacks. Well made pour overs, slightly overpriced but still delicious!

My favorite coffee spot in the Blackfriars area of Central London. I was staying at a hotel across the street which made it an easy minute walk. It's located next to the southwark underground station. There were a lot of schools and unis (universities) around the area so plenty of people to get caffeinated. Best coffee I got while in London hands down. If you are nearby or even on the other side of the Tims just grab a quick ride and give this place a try. The folks were all very nice and helped me with selections from the various pastries and toasties (sandwiches)

This is one of the coziest coffee shops in London. The interior is modern, bright and clean. They have a wide range of coffee beans and the food is tasty. It's suitable for either hanging out with friends or alone. I had slow stew lamb for lunch today, it was a bit heavy and chewy but otherwise it was nice. I will definitely recommend coffee lovers to come here!

I love the atmosphere at this coffee shop. It sits under the train line and the staff is really kind. I came here for a cup of coffee and a danish to read my book. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a cozy, chill cafe.

This place takes their coffee seriously and it shows! Attention to detail and a delicious cup of coffee. The cinnamon pastry was fresh and delicious as well. Very glad we sought this place out!

We were only in London for a few days but we ended up coming back here 3 times because we loved it so much! The ambiance is amazing--perfect to sit down and read/do some work or chat with a friend. I consistently got their matcha latte with oat milk which doesn't come with sweetener (which I like) and is pretty good! You can tell from the color of the matcha and the flavor that it is probably at least latte grade. Another plus is that they don't fill the entire cup with ice like they do in the states! A solid 2 cubes of ice did the job of keeping the drink cold and giving me plenty of delicious matcha to drink. I also tried their almond croissant, which was so amazingly buttery, flakey, and nutty. I just know that if I ever moved to London this would no doubt be my go to coffee shop!

Very nice coffee spot with great pour-over brewed coffee. You can select among a few different beans with the description of their taste. I had a cup of Das Almas which I liked (£4).
