I always shop at this shop when I’m visiting Pawley’s Island. The whole village is nice with little gift shops and boutiques. Today is my last time ever going back there and spending money. Fudge is the main item I go for and nice hoodies. The lady that works the fudge counter is never super friendly but today she was very rude, hateful, and condescending to me. I guess my money isn’t as good as anyone else’s. We went straight from the beach because our puppies was napping in our camper. I assume because I was in my bathing suit and cover up, both are modest, and I have a few tattoos I wasn’t her standard of people. That’s fine because the other shops and places I have visited were very friendly and didn’t mind taking my money. They were very helpful except this miserable lady. I’m sure there is better fudge around probably made with love something she can’t muster.

This place is a staple for island shopping. Always seems to have new stuff to purchase. If you enjoy candy stop by their shop before leaving.

They sell beautiful, high quality Pawley's Island Hammocks and Adirondack chairs in addition to other fun items (gift, tshirts, household items, wind chimes). The store is located in The Hammock Shops in Pawley's Island which is a lovely shopping area with quite a few boutiques, specialty stores and a restaurant. Worth a visit, and fun for the kids. The outside area is full of their furniture, so you can try before you buy (or set your feet up for a while to chill).

The woman at the fudge counter was very rude and disrespectful! Every time I have went in there she has never been the friendliest but this time she was way out of line. I asked for some peanut butter fudge and she proceeds to say “you need to tell me what size first” in a very rude way. This is the only rude encounter i have experienced since i’ve been here.

In my 40 years of coming to the SC beaches I have always wanted to visit here. Quaint shops, many one of a kind. I had a great time browsing shops... looking at all the hammock varieties and did a wine tasting!!

I’ve lived in Myrtle Beach for 7 years and have visited for over 30 years, I can’t believe I waited so long to visit. Beautifully landscaped, lots of stores, a couple restaurants and even some cornhole. It was the perfect thing to do on a cloudy day

Yelp
My friend had visited this store years ago and could not wait to visit again. They have anything you can want in hammocks and patio chairs and tables made of 100% no wood material. I saw some sun hats and made my way and found a couple that caught my eye. They were reasonably priced and I found one that I really liked. It had no bling, plain and an adjustable band inside and at $15 it was a steal. I have been searching all over and no one can compare. The only downside is finding a mirror. The only one I could find was a small one way in the back of the store which is why the four star. The music playing is the store is 100% all you would need is a little wine and I could spend all day there. The employees were 100% customer focused and customer oriented and the best customer service I have seen so for.

Yelp
For decades this has been an entertaining and educational stop and a highlight of the Pawley's Island Shoppes. You can watch the hammock artist at work creating swings or hammocks to order. Just outside this very small building, you'll find hammocks and swings you can check out in person, lay back and relax. The man working inside is super personable and helps teach his craft to young visitors sending them home with a free souvenir of rope.

Yelp
Mr. Marvin Grant is an angel on earth, not just because he told us so himself, but because he's the kind of soul that you can only hope to meet in life. Life doesn't guarantee that you'll experience another human as genuine, authentic, and unabashedly confident in his own skin as this hammock craftsman. But if you'd like to, just swing by The Original Hammock Shop, not to be confused with The Hammock Gift Shop next door, and see for yourself. It's a one-man-operation and he's the best there is when it comes to all things hammock-related! He'll get to chatting and draw you in like a magnet, before you know it, you'll be twisting rope together in 2-minutes flat, you'll have learned a new trade; the basics of hammock-making 101, which also doubles as a nifty skill for hair braiding. God bless you Mr. Marvin Grant!

Yelp
What an amazing store to visit. If you want a souvenir of your vacation on Pawley's Island or Litchfield Beach, don't miss this place. T-shirt selections are great. We enjoyed our visit with the award winning hammock maker, Marvin Grant. He told us he has been making hammocks for 20+ years and loves meeting the people who come by everyday. He showed us how the hammocks are made, how he got the job there and how many he can weave an hour. I'm not telling you, it's better for you to hear it for yourself. He did make us all souvenirs to take home that were handmade by him. Such a nice and entertaining man. Don't miss it!

Yelp
The Original Hammock Shop at Hammock Shops Village on Pawleys Island is a great place to go for all things hammocks and unique gift items. They have quality hammocks available to try out and a lower price for buying in store. I have been impressed with all of the purchases that I have made from here.

Yelp
This family owned little shop which is a workshop for the hammock maker is found in The Hammock Shops Village in Pawley's Island. Very easy to find as it's on the right of 17N on the way to with Pawley's or further up to Myrtle Beach. This area has at least twenty super cute touristy cottages all selling local wares. The one that took my eye was The Hammock Shop. Why, because the man who makes the hammocks is in there working along with his buddy and chatting to the customers. I loved this place, the shop itself looks old as the hills and is full of memorabilia from people all over the world and of course his accomplishments. Apparently he has been in some documentaries about The South and Hammock Making in general. What a lovely down to earth nice hard working man. He even gave me a planter holder made from that rope that he whipped up in minutes right there for me to take away. They make The Cotton Rope Hammock and the DuraCord Rope Hammock all by hand. The latter is weather resistant. I just love local and love supporting local. This work is truly an art and this man has a gift. Go visit him.

Yelp
My son and I visited the Hammock shop during an Spontaneous outing. We met a very nice man by the name of Marvin Grant. He took the time and showed my son the art of hammock making. It was very interesting.
