I was only able to spend 12 hours in the city to see the opera. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and made sure I made the most of my stay. When I arrived and said I was there for the opera, the clerk made sure to check me in with all expediency so I could make the show. She showed me the most direct route and gave me a heads up about the security check. When I told her that I would not be able to attend breakfast since my train was at 5, she arranged a to go bag for me to grab on my way out. I came for the opera and I would have stayed longer if I could have to enjoy the hotel :)

My wife and I stayed here for one night. Room type: Standard King. ||Found it interesting that the reception/check-in counter is also a bar. Hotel also offers free cancellation up to the day itself you are arriving. ||Mostly pluses. Can only think of one minus really. Would recommend for a stay in Savonlinna.||(+) a few minutes walk from Savonlinna train station|(+) room is brightly lit (compared to many hotels I have been)|(+) lake view from our room’s bay windows (see photo)|(+) complimentary buffet breakfast was pretty good|(+) strong air conditioning ||(-) curtains did not completely block out light from outside which might be a problem for some people when sun rises early (19 hours of sunlight per day this timing in summer)

Stayed for one night with the family, overall - a pretty good experience, service was friendly and efficient, typical Finnish hotel breakfast was good, renovated big rooms (ours had 2 huge TVs for both bedrooms, which is a bit of a overkill) with a good view. Parking is easy to find if you arrive off-season, we've parked just outside the hotel. Location is pretty central with a lot of choice of restaurants nearby. Pricing is on a higher side, but so is the comfort.

The hotel is well located, easily located with paid for parking - free at the weekend just outside if you are lucky - Staff friendly. However the corridors were not at all clean - flies and insects along all internal window ledges and breakfast was a bit limited compared with other places we stayed

After several nights last spring I can say that this hotel is excellent! Providing top-notch customer service, friendly and warm staff, stylish lobby which serves as a nice bar, delicious breakfast, good location, great view from the room windows and very cozy rooms! Only minus is that the pillows vary from room to room, some have ok, some quite bad. The beds have been good. Also, the bench in women's sauna is not optimal, as the sitting area should be wider (the added back eats some room). There could also be a mirror in the dressing room. But it's great to have a sauna, and the sauna area feels almost like a spa experience. Would be nice that some of the days saunas would switch, as I've heard that the men have a different sauna. Also, it's possible to come to sauna even if you are not staying at the hotel (for a 5€ towel fee), what a great idea! Once came just to sauna, thanks! Overall, very pleasant stay, I already miss to be back 👌

This hotel has almost no parking, and parking places around are few and very busy. There is a hall, but it's 300m away. If you are disabled, or don't or can't walk around, avoid this place. We got cheated with the lack of parking and when approached the hotel after we could not even stop at the reception as its forbidden, they got really rude very quickly. Apparently "everyone knows Savonlinna has very little parking" (we didn't as we're from London). They demanded we should keep on driving around the block, until someone leaves, to pay by the minute for the next 24 hours. We refused, it was a chockablock. Also they tried to order my husband to drive a rental car he didn't have licence to drive and leave me at reception as I could not walk due to disability. Apparently it would have been ok. We decided to return to Helsinki, spent 8 hours in car that day, and lost the opera. They at first refused to refund despite me having a clear disability and them discriminating, but after a lengthy strongly worded conversation they agreed to refund the room price, which was credited back 48 hours later. Avoid this hotel. They can only do the overpriced, misleading and rude service as there are no proper options in the area and its the opera. Not worthy of a visit. Avoid the area, its very badly organised and people are predominantly rude, clearly too many rich visitors has changed Savonlinna area to be nasty.

The staff were super friendly. They even let us check in hours ahead our of time. We got the room with the lake view. It was reslly beautiful. The free breakfast was super delicious. Not to mention that our dog got the best treatment ever. Free treats, also with bed and food bowl for hotel use. Definitely recommend this place when going to savonlinna
