We rented two rooms for five days. The air conditioning in both of our rooms was “warm” and unacceptable. They did nothing about it. ||The toilet went bad in our adult children’s room. We complained two days in a row and nothing happened. Nothing. All they did was hand us some towels to reduce the water on the floor. ||On the night before we left, we came back from a river cruise and the hotel completely failed to clean or replace the towels in our room. We had to beg the night man for a couple of towels. ||We engaged the cleaning ladies to privately clean our clothes and they “lost” three articles of my wife’s. ||The breakfast was good+||The rooms are slightly smaller than what I usually rent in Europe. The bathrooms have no shelving anywhere for your toiletries. ||All in all, I think the hotel has seen better days and we would definitely not return here. w

We spent the New Year’s holiday with family, and nothing bothered me. We also got an excellent price compared to other hotels in similar locations in Budapest.

Our first time in Budapest, and we are planning to be back and stay in this nice hotel, location is perfect, the staff treat us like family and breakfast was great! Thank very much for the good memories!|You can enjoy nice walks and explore the surrounding, beautiful!

This is a fantastic hotel in Budapest. We felt the price paid was fair. It is very close to the tram line(s) and only a short walk away from the heart of Budapest. House keeping/cleaning was fantastic. Overall service was great too. The hotel is dated but for the price paid, I was very happy. We booked a king room and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom is small but again, for the price paid, it was good. Breakfast in the morning was an assortment of hot/cold items and was everything you need. Very quiet area with no real disturbances.

It was a very nice hotel. People at reception did everything they could to please you. Breakfast was normal. If you come afyer 9 AM there are no croissants left. |What I did not like: nowhere in the hotel you could open a window. I must say that the airconditioning worked perfectly, but it's the idea...|To go to Budahill is easy to walk. And I also walked to the Parlement and the Stephanusbasilica. But I think parlement is 40 minutes walk. Basilica about 15 minutes.|So, staying at hotel Orion was oké!

We stayed 3 nights here in our month long Europe trip and after having a fantastic stay in 7 cities in a row, we found this hotel inconvenient and disappointing in few vital aspects. First thing first! Breakfast was terrible! Not an elaborate choice and anything tasty. Arrangement of items was not convenient and very congested and in tiers and layers. Due to paucity of space the portions laid out were small. Some times vanished sooner and not replenished anymore either due to lack of attention by the staff or due to running out of stock. One staff told we have no more cucumbers for the day! Also, somehow the items looked and were stale. We eat lot of fresh vegetables and salad! There weren’t many and the available ones weren’t fresh! Nothing much to say about choices of breads. Boiled eggs were offered but weren’t many and quickly ran out. Scrambled eggs weren’t prepared properly - scaly and leathery due to inattentive over cooking as the staff managing were all the time noisily chatting among themselves not bothering about the surroundings or about the things on the pan and the stove. Front desk person sounded impersonal and remote and to some extent indifferent and rude when we checked in. We weren’t welcomed with even a hint of smile but with a frowned face! Location might suit some but not us as we always want to be in the hustle and bustle of real city centre. This place was little away from the main city centre, though the site while we booked told a different story. Rooms were okay but the wifi was terrible. It’s as good as not having it. Only it was strong at the dining area downstairs. There are several areas management has to look at and make changes with times otherwise this place will not be anymore attractive to people like us.

Clean and comfortable room and hotel. On the Buda side, making it very quiet. Located on Castle Hill close to the City Palace and St. Matthias church. Easy to get to via Metro, Tram, and bus. Not much of a view but that isn't really needed. Breakfast (extra) is a buffet and is small but has the basics.

This hotel is perfectly fine for a couple of days. Clean and comfortable although I did find it a bit warm. The staff were a bit abrupt and it is not a cultural thing. They could have been more welcoming. I got scolded for opening the door for the delivery person, saying I was letting out the heat. The location is very close to buda funicular, everything else is an enjoyable walk.
