Getting here is a real experience, there’s a cable car but the walk up to the cable car, composed mainly of stairs is pretty steep to begin with. We arrived around sunset and it was quite busy on the hill and the cable car was running pretty continuously. We’d a reservation and got a great table next to the window. First the positives, the view is awesome. Service I thought was pretty decent certainly friendly and we were made to feel welcome. I’m afraid I was a little disappointed with the food, I ordered the fish of the day (sea bream) and the dish just felt a little over-complicated to me. My wife had lobster which was a much better choice. It wasn’t cheap either. Overall it’s probably worth going for the view and the experience but not as a food destination.

Breath taking views!!! Be aware you have to take a sort of tramway— which i thought was very cool. The food was so good, to start we had greek salad and grilled shrimp then for main course lamb and pork. The staff was friendly and attentive. A hidden gem!

The views are incredible, even though it was cloudy was well worth the trip, very special spot! Definitely book in advance- we were on the waitlist as booked last minute and were very lucky to get outside table. It was so beautiful. The food was really good too!

Orizontes Lycabettus is an absolute dream. Perched at the top of Mount Lycabettus, it offers the most breathtaking view of Athens—especially at sunset. Watching the city light up below with the Acropolis in the distance? Unmatched. We came for the view and stayed for the romance. The atmosphere is elegant without being stuffy, with soft lighting, attentive service, and just enough breeze to make it feel like a movie scene. The food was refined and flavorful, but let’s be honest—the real star is the setting. Whether you’re clinking wine glasses at golden hour or staying for dinner under the stars, it’s an unforgettable experience. Perfect for a romantic date night or a special moment you want to lock in your memory forever. Bonus points if you take the cable car up and walk it off on the way down.

I would say you pay the the views, not the quality of food. I was glad that we did not have to pay a deposit or be a large party to get a reservation, as many Athens restaurants with the view/rooftops require this. The food was good, but nothing special and the prices were quite high. Also as the time went by and the place got busier (around sunset time) it was a bit hard to get a server to come to us, we ended up waiting for the bill for about half an hour, just looking at each other :) But the views are unmatched. Also the restaurant is a grat way to avoid crowds visiting the top of the hill.

The food was disappointing—prepared with little care and generally overcooked. While the service was friendly, it wasn’t exceptional. The real highlight of this place is the exceptional view from the terrace, which is honestly the main and perhaps only reason to dine here.

We LOVED this place. We were a little concerned with some of the reviews, but we had a fantastic experience. We had the taxi drop us off at the funicular and it took us up to the restaurant. The cost was $13 roundtrip. Easy and fun. Once we were there we were blown away by the view. We had a table outside and could see the Parthenon from our table. I read the bad reviews on their food but I would strongly disagree. We all loved our food. We had everything from appetizers to dessert and the price was much less than we were expecting. Now if you are in a hurry this will be a problem. We were there for 3 hours. It’s not American dining. It is more relaxed and we loved that. We watched the Parthenon light up while we were eating. It was stunning.(picture attached) So I whole heartedly recommend this restaurant. 10 stars!
