Ronny was an amazing guide who took the time to attract incredible birds over our tour. We saw a dozen, including an Antpitta that kept us company for at least an hour. Breakfast followed at his lovely home which was delicious! Highly recommend.

We had an amazing early morning, 3hr birding walk with Samantha. I mean birding walk because Samantha is a birder, and is very skilful and knowledgeable about her local birds. This was not about list ticking, but enjoying some beautiful birds as she took us around her family’s historical farm which has been turned into a small private nature reserve. She also talks about other fauna and the flora that makes this a special place. I particularly enjoyed the manakins, the friendly antpitta and the Baird’s Trogon. In all we saw well over 40 different bird species, but it felt as if I had actually seen them! Samantha then took us home for a lovely authentic Costa Rican breakfast … the whole morning was a real treat.

Well, turns out we arrived at the wrong bird watching tour. So glad, because Samantha shared her property, family heritage and knowledge of the local ecosystem with us. We learned so much, and she even made us breakfast afterwards. She doesn't run tours every day in the summer, but man did we get lucky. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience with our guide Samantha! We saw a lot of birds and learned so much about the birds and the forest as we hiked through the hills of Uvita in the cool morning. Our guide was kind, funny and shared a lot of interesting info. We absolutely loved having a delicious breakfast at a lovely location at the family's home Highly recommended!! Thank you Samantha 💚

Samanta is a great guide! We were able to identify over 30 species in 3 hours, even birds that are hard to spot since they mostly remain hidden in the forest. It was an awesome experience, mandatory for any birdwatcher!

The bird watching tour and subsequent breakfast (included) at Oro Verde with Samantha, Fernando and Jesus was perfect! Before we left on the walking tour, they had local fruits for us and pointed out numerous bird species as we waited to walk the preserve. We walked the beautiful preserve and saw many species of birds, including toucans, hummingbirds, parakeets, trogons, parrots and even a crested owl. We learned about Costa Rican culture and enjoyed a traditional Costa Rican breakfast with a beautiful view of the ocean and the whale’s tail. Our entire party (4 adults, 5 kids ages 12 to 18) enjoyed it.

This was one of the most amazing birding experiences I have had! Samantha is an extremely talented guide, super friendly and with a fantastic sense of humor. She could call in many birds, not just using a speaker, but using her own voice! She and her family have remarkably established a relationship with a Streak-chested Antpitta named "Suzy," a reclusive species that is normally very difficult to see. Samantha called in Suzy, and we got very close views of this incredible bird. Samantha also called in a Baird's Trogon! We had so many lifers thanks to her. The family's dedication to conservation is truly commendable. After the tour, we were served a delicious traditional Costa Rican breakfast while listening to the nesting Zone-tailed Hawks outside the family home call. I will definitely be back one day, and will bring all my birding friends with me! If you are a birder, this place is a MUST VISIT LOCATION!!!

Samantha took us for a three hour sunrise bird tour at the reserve; she was knowledgeable and enthusiastic not just about birds, but plants, animals, and indigenous history. We saw so many bird species, many for the first time. Highly recommended, including a traditional Costa Rican breakfast at the end. Well worth the price!
