Fast casual omakase takeout! Have been wanting to try this place and it delivered. For only $59 the quality and taste of fish was exceptional. And you’re getting uni, otoro, scallop etc. Only downside, you have to eat it in an alleyway but maybe that’s the charm of it.

Honestly some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The fish is flavourful and melted in my mouth. The quality is just crazy. The prices are high but reasonable for the quality, I think. The California roll really exceeded expectations. Both of the other maki rolls we got were amazing. No where to sit other than a bench outside (takeout only) but it’s a vibe inside. Super nice staff.

The wide variety of nigiri and gunkan ensures that no bite is the same as the last, an exciting endeavour that's elevated with the addition of their futomaki. The perfect size to fit comfortably in your mouth yet still feeling substantial, it demonstrates a splendid balance of textures and flavours, jammed packed full of ingredients.

Wow! Picked up the premium sushi set and scallops - it was devine!! After spending a month in Japan, I was craving good sushi and this hit the spot! It’s a take-out spot with entrance in an alley way. Friendly and warm staff greet you when you pick up. 10/10 for freshness - every bite was incredible!

Amazing fish quality and kind staff. Very fresh, melts in your mouth. Perfect stop by location for sushi to go. Unique Japanese food items. I was especially pleasantly surprised with the seaweed salad (wakame) and medium fatty tuna (chūtoro). Will definitely be back!

Take out only sushi spot. I tried their omakase set and it was pretty good. I would recommend placing order online in advance as they do get busy. Fish was fresh and quality was good. It was cool how you could see the fish hanging in the fridge.

The sushi at Oroshi was so fresh and delicious — truly a cut above the rest. Truly the best sushi I’ve ever tasted. If you’re wondering whether it’s worth the price tag — it absolutely is. The attention to detail and quality make it a standout experience. We brought it home and had an incredible date night in.

This is a take out place only. We got the Omakase & Premium Sushi Set and we agreed it was the freshest tasting fish we have ever had in Ontario. Every chew was delightful and left us wanting more. These two sets were enough to feed the two of us. You get what you pay for. The quality is unreal and I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Tucked in a laneway just off College by Dovercourt, this little sushi market specializes in dry aged sushi. I recently tried their Holiday set, and it was a treat! Their use of fresh wasabi also adds an authentic touch. In addition to a good selection of sushi, Oroshi Fish Co. carries a variety of pantry and grocery items, as well as a wide selection of drinks. Since the sushi is take-out only, it's advisable to place an order online to avoid long waits, especially during busy times.

I decided to try oroshi again and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Ingredients were fresh, rice was perfectly cooked and amazing taste. The stand out was definitely the negi roll! Will splurge for this once in a while. Best premium take out option.

Really expensive sushi but so worth it! We were missing the fresh salmon from Japan and wanted to go to a place that had something close to what we were craving. Thankfully Oroshi had what we wanted! We waited about 20 minutes for our order to be prepped - this was fine as we knew the fish would be good. There were also some drinks and other treats from Japan that are ready to go if you want something more. Overall a great place to go to if you're really craving some fresh sushi - just be prepared to drop $$$

Been craving some sushi before I go off to Japan for the real deal and decided I wanted to give this place a try. Saw the price and some of the other photos and said to myself that the price is fair. The set was well packaged and all of the pieces were definitely fresh and well portioned compared to many places. One of the few places in downtown toronto that provides "authentic" sushi experience.

Oroshi is tucked near the entrance of a sketchy alleyway. There's 2 lit signs - 1 on the main sidewalk to help guide you there, then another one to mark your destination. There's a few steps to get in, so it's not accessible. Brightly lit and clean inside, you're first greeted with their fridge filled with different fish hung on hooks. To the left is a beverage, sides, and condiment fridge, along with a pantry area for small grocery purchases. Mostly self-produced, a few third-party choices. To your right is the ordering counter and an open kitchen with a small team busily working through orders. Behind you, of course, is the door, but also some merch available for purchase. There is no room to dine in. I ordered the regular set (contains 3(?) Nigiri & a california roll), salmon temaki, and miso soup. I purchased the ika wasabi (in a jar, made by them), yuzu iced tea (bottled, made by them), and wasabi powder (small jar, made by them). Overall, I liked the regular set, salmon temaki, and miso soup. It was worth paying for. I felt the ika wasabi was too fishy, which really turned me off - I love tako wasabi, but this wasn't for me. Yuzu iced tea was a bit too strong in the tea and sugar flavour. I think it would be refreshing if poured over ice. I'm excited to try the wasabi powder when I get the chance! The service was really friendly and quick! The team was attentive and took care with each order. I would return if I'm in the area.

We did a takeout the evening before for next day lunch, quite surprised how fresh everything was the next day. The rice was still soft, and the fish just like it was the same day. All great, will be back.

Delicious! A bright and clean fish shop - you can see where your orders are prepped. My friend and I enjoyed our tray - definitely enough for 2 and very fresh! Each piece was perfection and buttery. We also got their HK milk tea - cute container and good taste. Would definitely come back

Full disclosure: If someone hypes anything up to me, my expectations go unreasonably high, and 9 times out of 10 I end up disappointed. Given the sky-high hype for Oroshi, it's a testament to how good it is that, while I don't think it's the perfect sushi takeout and fish market in the city, it's still really good. Dropped by and got one omakase set and one premium sushi set. I get all the praise for the omakase - the fish is melt-in-your-mouth good, the variety rivals the sit-down omakases out there. At $50, it's a bit pricey though, and I'm not sure if its more limited selection makes me prefer just paying the $150 at a sit-down spot. As for the premium sushi set, the quality was easily better than your average sushi spot, but the price was also higher at $30. Not quite sure if it was worth it given it still was the typical sushi types. Having had both sets, I'd definitely recommend the $50 omakase over the $30 premium sushi - just more unique and better value. Overall, I get the Oroshi hype. While it didn't quite get to 5-star level for me, it's definitely still worth a try.

Excellent value for omakase to go! Ordered this via the Uberseats app for 62$ plus tax, fees and tips. Wouldn't say it's the best omakase joint, but it's great for the price point! Highly recommend for a casual night in!

I LOVE OROSHI. They're amazing. I splurge way more often than I should on their sushi. The fatty toro, the ika, sweet ebi, Ikura and uni are all TO DIE FOR. I spend way too much of my money here but it's worth every cent. They also have the best onigiri in their fridges if you walk in. So GO NOW

I forgot to take photos but I ordered in sushi from Oroshi Fish Co through Uber earlier this week and was very happy with the quality of the Sushi. Though a little more expensive than the place I usually Uber in Sushi from, I could definitely taste the better quality and the fish tasted fresher. It could be because of the way Oroshi keeps their fresh fish frozen at the right temperature and the fact that they don't really have a sit down area but only take orders for deliver. In any case I will order again soon, it was a nice dinner

Oh yeah... the fish here was SO good. The variety that comes in the omakase was excellent! The rice is not traditional. I know hard core sushi lovers believe rice is more important than fish. In the end, this comes down to personal preference. No wasabi in the nigiri. Apply your own. Friendly and helpful service. I'd highly recommend trying this place if you love raw fish like me!

Oroshi Fish Co. is Toronto's newest destination for takeout sushi located in the West end near College/Dovercourt. Located down Bill Cameron Lane (a laneway), the eatery specializes in deliciously prepared sushi, sashimi, and donburi (rice bowls). I came across Oroshi on Instagram and knew I had to try their delicious sushi sets. Orders can be made on their website or through delivery apps. I decided to preorder my items ahead of time. Staff called me around my pick up time to notify me they were running behind which I appreciated. The store is easy to find (just look for their blue door!) and staff were friendly when I went to pick up my order. The store also displays their fresh fish and sells a variety of different housemade condiments (I picked up the XO sauce and the furikake seasoning). Food wise, I ordered the regular sushi set (2pc salmon, 2pc seabass, 8pc California roll) as well as the premium sushi set (9pc nigiri set + temaki. Salmon, seabass, yellowtail, lean bluefin tuna med. fatty bluefin tuna, tiger prawn + handroll). No substitutions are allowed and selection of fish may change based on what's in season. Taste wise, the sushi sets were fresh and delicious! My partner and I shared the sets and enjoyed them immensely. Definitely a great new sushi takeout joint in the west end. Recommend if you are around the area!

DELICIOUS takeout sushi that is well worth the trip here! Oroshi is a little hidden (located in an alley) but you can't miss the bright white sign that directs you towards it. When you walk in you'll see some fridges with their aged fish as well as ready-to-go sushi sets and sashimi trays. They also have a few shelves of soy sauce, wasabi, and other condiments - some of which are made in house and others shipped from Japan. The kitchen is a wide and open space and they've got a team of sushi chefs. We got the uni donburi, premium sushi set, and the regular sushi set. The uni donburi was so good. They were really generous with the uni (I love uni!) and it comes with 4 fresh pieces of scallop, ikura, and a piece of tamago. Everything I could ever want in a donburi. The premium sushi set comes with 9 pieces of nigiri sushi (there's the medium fatty tuna, salmon, etc.) as well as a temaki (hand roll). The regular sushi set contains 4 pieces of nigiri and California rolls. Both sushi sets were delicious! The staff at Oroshi were all very kind! You can tell they clearly appreciate their customers. Can't wait to come back and reorder the uni donburi as well as try the omakase set next time.

I was looking forward to trying this spot but the past attempts were an exercise in futility as either the wait time was very long or they weren't taking any orders for delivery. So finally on a weekend for an early dinner I kept an eye out and as soon as they opened up I placed an order for an early dinner. The presentation is nice and cuts of fish were higher end as I went with the omakase set (they do add the premium for delivery service as opposed to pickup there from what I noticed) initial impression based upon presentation I was thinking this place could be a contender. However I felt the rice was off a bit like the was not made to order rather ready to go type texture. Sushi imo doesn't lend itself to be sitting for a while so that's an off putting feature. The sushi was decent with the exception of Ika (squid) which was inedible. I think the hand roll suffered from the same fate as the sushi due to the texture of rice. At this price point I think I will stick to the option nearby. 2.5 stars with a possible 3 star if one can pickup and consume (provided it's made to order) for now.

Ordering was efficient online. We ordered a bunch of different nigiri and a few rolls. The uni was kinda of fishy taste, the other nigiris are very average. Quite expensive for what you get. A lot of other amazing sushi places for the same price point.

I ordered ahead online and came to pick up some omakase sets. I came a little early and they were still in the middle of making it so I believe they make the sushi incredibly fresh for when you pick up. When we were driving it was a little difficult to find because it's located discreetly in the alleyway. When you walk in, you can see the whole kitchen as well as their display of fish in big fridges. The inside was very clean. The sushi itself was amazing! The fish was really fresh and I love the variety that you get. The one thing I was surprised about is there was no wasabi placed in the actual nigiri. It was a little tedious placing the wasabi in yourself so I recommend putting a note to put wasabi in the nigiri itself when you order.

Best quality sushi I've had in the city. Unlike most sketchy alleys in the city, this one doesn't feel like you're about to get whacked or mugged, but rather houses beautiful high-quality sushi! I ordered the Omakase set as I wanted to see what this place was really capable of. I love everything about the experience. The low-key entrance, the small pantry section with swag, rice vinegar, seasonings, and other delicacies. I also love the coolers with the fish on display. The fish here is dry-aged which gives it a distinct taste and texture. Each item in the Omakase is so varied and unique. The roe explodes in your mouth with flavour. The bluefin tuna has a melt-in-your-mouth texture that only the highest quality fish possesses. The scallop is firm, but not rubbery or tough like some places can be. The rice is room temperature and delicately stays together. It's not firmly stuck together like glue, aka the grocery store stuff. Nicely cooked and seasoned. Every piece in the box tasted phenomenal and was so satisfying. Such a treat. It also includes a handroll on the side. Wasn't as crazy about this. You actually roll it yourself and I believe it had some salmon inside. It tasted fine, but it just wasn't the highlight of the dish - sort of an extra on the side. One important thing to note about the Omakase is that substitutions will be made depending on what is in stock. If you want to ensure you try the whole spectrum of what they offer, just make sure all the individual pieces are in stock on their online ordering page. For example, you can see that there is no sea urchin in my box as this was sold out on their online ordering system when I placed my order/picked it up. The stock photo of the Omakase box shows this piece. So, is it worth $50? That's up to you. I've had Omakase experiences that are $150 before and they're incredible, but for a third of the price, you can get sushi that is of comparable quality here. This is top-notch stuff. Plus, it's quick to order and takeaway and you don't have to put up with a pretentious experience. The guys who run the place are cool and friendly. It's clean and tidy on the inside as well. There are places to sit nearby as well. Across the road is a small bench out front of a YMCA and each corner in this area has city benches set up that you can eat on. Overall, I'd give Oroshi a 5/5. For this league of sushi, the prices are very fair and I actually enjoy the takeaway nature. The branding, hidden entrance, and ethos of the restaurant are cool as well. Great place.

Delicious! Reasonably priced for the quality that you get. We had three total people to feed so we ended up getting three sets plus a few orders of the fatty tuna nigiri. The fatty tuna is one of the best in the city that you can get outside of an omakase experience. Didn't take pics cuz I was too hungry lol. Would go back 100%

So worth it. Will travel to Toronto to visit this place again. So very fresh fish and clean. Take your omakase to go.

Really wanted to love it but it was really sort of average. Ordered the Chriashi don, uni don, O-toro nigiri, hamachi nigiri, Saba nigiri, ebi nigiri and tuna temaki. The dons were nothing special and seemed to lack something. Also a touch small. The o-toro seemed to be more chu-toro in quality. This might just be a fish quality thing. But I've had better. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. But it will do and I would pass on the high priced items.

If you love omakase and want some affordable, premium sushi, then Oroshi Co. is your dream place. We got two omakase sets for only $100 and we had amazing pieces like scallop nigiri, chopped scallop, uni, fatty tuna, and toro! It even came with a hand roll too. The fatty tuna did unfortunately had a piece that was inedible because of the muscle fiber. We also wished the chopped scallop nigiri had some green apple or sweet fruit to balance the creme fraiche. However, all the other pieces were delicious. One of our favorite pieces was the uni nigiri. We haven't had such fresh uni in a while! We also loved the fatty tuna handroll. The seaweed was still crispy and toasted. You definitely don't want to sleep on this place!

Super fresh fish! Thé omakase set is very affordable, only 49$! We got two of those and one uni don. The quality is amazing for the price, definitely worth it. the location is a little hidden, look for the fish sign! The toro was so good, melted in my mouth. I wish I got the sashimi platter of the toro, instead of the uni don. Thé uni bowl was still great but my fav pieces were the toro! Make sure to order from them directly, it's much cheaper than the Uber eats price. I ordered the day of and was able to get the pick up time I wanted. Would come back, I'm so happy I found an affordable delicious sushi place in Toronto

The dry aging of the fish elevates the taste and texture of the sushi to the next level. You won't want to go back to your neighborhood sushi place after this...

It is little hard to find as it is hidden in alley way and parking is pain but freshness of sushi and taste make it all worth it. Best sushi in town. I try out their 60 piece plate and it is worth every penny. Kinda craving more because it so tasty. Service is excellent. But they only do take out.

Not that impressed given my expectations going in. The sushi platter was good, but I certainly expected excellent given the price point. One of the pieces on the special platter was inedible, such a strong and unpleasant taste. I don't know why they would put such a thing and not give a warning.
