15 Best Bars in Copenhagen

"Copenhagen's craft beer scene is impressive, and one of the best places to become acquainted with it is Ørsted Ølbar, located a stone’s throw from Nørreport Station and tranquil Ørstedparken. The cozy brick-walled joint, which has rustic wood touches, features 20 different taps pouring brews from Denmark and beyond, along with some 200 bottled varieties. Sports fans will appreciate the TVs, dart board, and foosball table, but on Saturday evenings the ambience gets a jolt from DJs spinning funky vinyl." - Alia Akkam

Good range of beers. Relaxed atmosphere, pleasant staff. Good music playing in the background which didn't drown out the conversation.

If you like wooden tables/chairs, candle lit bars, and an old tavern feel, this place is it. My friends and I watched a World Cup game here and it was such a nice looking bar. There was background ambiance music it was not overbearing since I was still capable having conversations with my friends. This tavern is best well-suited if you still want to have a conversation with friends. They also have an abundance of lounge chairs, sofas, chairs and tables. They also have some bar games around the area. Great place!

One of the best bars in town for craft beer. They usually have 20 different beers on tap and the selection changes frequently so there’s always something new to try. The place has a cool and relaxed vibe to it with vintage furniture and classic rock on the speakers. Also a great place to watch football, they usually show Premier League and Danish league games on the weekend as well as Champions League during the week.

I'm a female traveling alone. I asked the (also female) bartender if it was OK to leave my beer while I went to the bathroom, she said "sure but we won't be watching your beer" What the eff? Other bars offer to put your drink behind the counter. Will not return, lots of other places with good beer selections that actually want to take care of their customers

Vibey candlelit craft beer bar. Good variety of seating/spaces. Good selection with 20 diverse beers on draught

Have been coming here many times for the laid-back atmosphere and the excellent showcasing of Danish micro breweries. Always friendly and knowledgeable staff, and though it can be quite busy, if you visit in the early afternoon it’s normally quiet and relaxing. It’s situated right in between two rather busy craft beer areas so if you are in transit and want to stretch your legs look bo further.

One of the best beer places in town. Cozy, good selection of beer, ok pricing, and pretty spacy.

Yelp
Lovely local pub! It was a midday when I went there, so not a lot of people were around. Despite that the owner looked for and put Formula 1, as I asked him. Also a great selection of beer!

Yelp
It is divey, it is cool. Great range of beer selection and awesome bottle menu. They are inexpensive.

Yelp
I'm trying to power through the last few of my Denmark reviews from last December so here we go. 3.5 would probably be more representative. Like Linda F. I think that there's better beer bars (Fermentoren) in Copenhagen. It was okay. They had a decent selection of beers on tap from local brewers and the prices were comparable, but I found it slightly lacking in ambiance and the service wasn't as friendly as many of the other bars I had visited. The bartender was more interested in watching football on the TV than taking care of the bar area, which I guess it was a slow day but still, felt a little weird. Perfectly good if you were in the area though, and I am being more generous with the rating because it's likely I just had a mediocre experience.

Yelp
Lovely bar with great atmosphere, ample seating and people who know their beers serving at the bar! Gin and tonics were 65 DKK, so not bad for Copenhagen prices! We came here on a Saturday evening and the music was great, we stayed for a few hours trying all the great beers they had on tap and a few of their whiskeys too. We didn't try the füssball tables but I hear the Danes get serious about them! So if this is your thing, they have it. The whole bar is quite large with many cosy areas as well as more open areas (near the füssball tables) that can accommodate large groups, especially when there's a football match on, especially with their large TVs!

Yelp
An update is obviously warranted after my double (or was it triple) unluck with this place last time with the rowdy rugby-watching crowd, teenagers playing foosball and leftover drunks from the football game. Anders A and I went here a week ago to find the bar was (almost) empty at 3.30pm. Well duh. But obviously, it's five o'clock somewhere else since there were people like us drinking beer already on that time on a Saturday (so, it's totally ok, right?). The ambience was nice, jazz and good old 80s music was playing (please, no teenagers!) and we had great time doing our stuff, drinking beer - that is. I had Mikkeller milk stout times two (it was just THAT good) and Mikkeller's christmas beer from 2013 (Santa's Little Helper, the one that was stored in cognac barrel). Mmmm... Right, I'm totally a fan now of Ørsted Ølbar, but I would avoid it on a football/ match nights.

Yelp
Excellent micro brewery. Great selection of tap beers with frequent replacements. I've been coming here a lot of times. Either Friday evenings or Saturday/Sunday afternoons to watch a football match. I always enjoy it here. Occasionally the place can be a bit empty which is a shame. The bartenders always seem eager to serve you the best beer. No matter how busy they are, they always have time to talk about the brews and give you a few tastes. Would definitely recommend beer lovers to come here. And if you are looking for a quiet, nice place to watch a football match, this place I ideal.

Yelp
After a morning's wandering across the city and through the incredibly tranquil and scenic Ørstedparken, my friends and I headed to Ørsted Ølbar which is just across the road. A basement bar, which is much more spacious than you'd think from outside, with a good selection of 20 craft beers available and knowledgeable staff who are happy to make recommendations. Feeling a bit peckish, we ordered a sizeable bowl of peanuts and large basket of crisps (that's about all they had on offer when we were there). It helped to stave off the hunger pangs though as we sat outside and watched the world pass us by. It was very quiet given it was an afternoon on a Thursday, but I suspect things really get going of an evening and the atmosphere livens up.

Yelp
If you like to nerd out on beer, this is by far the best place in town. The only way to find people who knows more about the beers on tap, is by finding the brewers and asking them directly. I was there for a quick beer, but was recommended by a friend to ask the bartenders for a recommendation. The recommendation I got was based on what I told the bartender and the beer I got was pretty amazing. The location is pretty great as well - its hidden away, but not too far away. It is a sportsbar, so if theres a local football game, you might end up between a bunch of football fans. I'm personally not that into sportsball, but some might be. The selection is not enormous, but it is just enough and it seems like they change their selection just enough times, so it feels new every time.

Yelp
Looks great after remodeling, opened again late July 2015 after being closed about a month. Decent selection of beer. 20 taps, interesting stuff on tap, most of it from Danish brewers. Okay selection of bottled beer too. If you're not into beer, they currently have 7 gins available. If you're not into beer or gin, you should probably go somewhere else.

Palle B.

Yelp
Despite rather good atmosphere, the rating can only be at basement level. Probably the worlds most expensive beer bar. At this price original brewery glasses is a must, but no, only the cheapest of standard glasses. And the size - 0,2 l and 0,4 l. We paid 45 DKK for 0,2 l beer. The last place I will go for a beer. Yelp
I think it's a good beer bar, and it's somewhere between three and four stars for me. But there are other beer places I like better in Copenhagen, so Ørsted gets 3 stars. Lots of space but still cozy with rough wooden tables and candles in winebottles that are never allowed to go out. Good beer tap selection and it's quiet and low-key. They have Mikkeller on tap and their own Ørsted beers. A perfectly decent place.

Yelp
This is not a place to get hammered and party all night. With 200 bottled beers and 20 taps this is a paradise for the serious beer nerd. They have a DJ some nights, but really... This is the beer place where you go to chill with mates watch some football and drink some serious beers with chips (crisps). No douchebags allowed.

Yelp
Homely, local feel with a pub style interior. Preference here for Danish microbrews, mostly Mikkeller and also Amager. Loads of oddball American micros too like Cigar City and Founders when I visited...things I would never expect in Denmark. Glassware was all perfect for style. Very proper pours. Staff was very knowledgeable about beer. A little pricey but then again I was not used to the price level in CPH, which can be quite a shock for an outsider. Definitely worth stopping by for a few rounds. I really liked the handwritten tap handles as it gave me reason to believe the keg rotation was quick and thus the beer probably fresh.

Yelp
This can be a really cozy place to have a beer with your friends; benches with long tables, comfy couches, half-melted candles in bottles. They have great beers on offer and the bartenders are good at suggesting something that suits you. However, keep an eye on the calendar; the evening you plan to be here can turn this place into a loud sports bar if there's an interesting game on. There are a couple TVs in here, which I don't like, but maybe it's something for you.

Mike S.

Yelp
Great cozy bar, kind of an original brewpub. Great rotating taps, quiet neighborhood. Bartender very friendly and into the beer scene. Good music a plus, great hang out late night bar.
