Ortigia

Part of my Florence perfume adventure, this boutique stood out for its elegant amazing design and was the first I visited while in Florence. Sadly was a bit disappointed by the perfumes in the shop but the design is amazing indeed. The packaging of their products is really beautiful. Bought a perfumes oil and soap, but for those who like the style they have beautiful silk printed scarfs.

*Dear. Benjamin Ashworth, Ortigia Sicilia I visited the Ortigia Firenze store on July 25 at around 6:35 PM. I bought three items: a 1L body wash refill, a 500ml glass bottle, and a 500ml hand wash in a glass bottle. At that time, the staff who served me was an older woman with her dog inside the shop. She was very rude and told me, “You have only 8 minutes to choose.” I first discovered Ortigia through the amenities at two hotels during my trip in Italy (Furore Grand Hotel in Amalfi and Sant’Angelo Hotel in Matera). I loved the products so much that I made a special trip to the Florence store just to buy them. But my experience here was terrible. The staff’s rude attitude made me very uncomfortable, and she also wrote the wrong information on my tax refund form. Because of her mistake, I couldn’t get my tax refund at the airport. This was extremely disappointing and ruined my impression of the brand. ----------- I requested a tax refund, but the staff rushed me to choose items within 8 minutes. As a result, I had to hurriedly pick something within that time. Although I submitted a tax refund request, the staff failed to correctly enter my passport number on the tax refund form. Because of this, the form was not accepted at the airport. The staff was very unkind, and in the end, I was unable to receive my tax refund.

😔I really liked the place and truly wanted to buy something, but after receiving such arrogant and disrespectful energy from the staff, I decided not to purchase anything. It’s a shame, because I loved the products and the aesthetics of the place as well, but I won’t be coming back to this store because the staff is not very friendly. I do not recommend visiting this store. I was planning to buy my gifts for my family here, but you’ve lost a customer.

I love their Ambra fragrance as it reminds me allot of "almut" by lorenzo villoresi with its velvet cozy touch as it is the perf3ct for this season. The sandalo is also great woody scent, and so is their newest release "Aragona" the pink one which is full throttle powdery. "Bergamotto" wasn't my favorite but I remember the male seller there said that it was attention grabber. The staff there were very friendly and professional, I used to dislike sandalo, but the way they introduced it to me was quite amusing. Great scents and worth the visit.

I’m obsessed with the fragrances and home scents offered by Ortigia. My husband and I were visiting from Canada and stayed at Borgo San Jacopo. The diffusers are located all over the hotel. I loved the scent and was told the Ortigia store was only 200 metres away. I went to the store and was greeted by a lovely woman whose name I unfortunately forgot to ask. I was so captivated by her pleasant personality and helpfulness that her name just didn’t come up. After smelling a few different scents, the fig version was the diffuser I purchased along with a personal fragrance with the same scent. Love it! The bonus of the visit was the dinner recommendation received from this wonderful sales woman—Il Guscio. That was a gastronomical highlight! Ortigia scents—bravissimo!

I loved this shop and I am so sorry that the branch in Lucca has closed down. I went back to top up after an absence of 2 months and it was gone! Lovely products - a tiny bit pricey though. I will just have to go to Florence now

Fragrances and packaging.

Products are great, BUT the packaging is awful and falls apart very quickly. One bottle cracked after a few days and another after a couple of months. The company helped with the first crack, but claimed that they could help me no further after the second crack. Avoid!
