Yelp
I was so pleased that I'd found this place on Yelp before my trip to Lisbon, and it was just around the corner from where I was going to be based - bonus!
A group of about 10 of us went along on a Saturday lunchtime, and they had very little trouble finding tables for us all in the upstairs area. There's a huge downstairs garden-type area too, which I imagine is nice and cool in the summer.
I have no prior experience of Tibetan cuisine, but the speciality dish that I ordered was something involving seitan chunks and was tasty without being as spicy as I expected. I certainly felt that I was getting a well-balanced and nutritious vegan meal.
Staff were very friendly and the service was pretty good considering our large number. But I have to take a star away from a full 5-star review for the cheezy muzak they were playing, which was some dreadful lounge music covers of Beatles songs. Simply ghastly, and completely out of place in the Tibetan atmosphere of the place. Some singing bowls and chanting would have been more appropriate.
They also have a small shop at the front of the store selling incense, teas, prayer beads and other Tibetan ephemera; and on the top floor there is a Buddhist temple and school, where they run meditation classes and workshops.
Sadly, they were closed on Sunday when we returned for lunch, otherwise I would certainly have returned there. A great asset in a city with depressingly few veggie outlets.
