For tourists who like luxury brands from the current season and not keen on travelling to outlet malls, Takashimaya is the perfect place for a fulfilling day of shopping. Managed to get wallets, bags and shoes which are not easy to get stock of otherwise in other countries. Moreover, tax refund is easily done and consolidated on level 7.

It's HUGE!!!! A Rolex MUSEUM on the ground floor that I wonder why people still Q to enter. Got me a pair of shoes. 5% tourist discount with valid passport and vat refund on the 7th floor

Gathered all international and local luxury brands, cosmetics, food shop, restaurants and almost everything. Good place to do shopping and enjoy meals on the higher floors restaurants.

The selection of Western-style sweets in the B1 floor of Takashimaya Osaka is very diverse, and they all look so delicious.

This Takashimaya Osaka exceeded my expectations! This iconic department store is a shopper's paradise, offering an incredible range of high-quality products, from fashionable clothing and accessories to luxurious home goods and gourmet food. The store's modern and sleek interior design made for a comfortable and enjoyable shopping experience, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to assist me. I was particularly impressed by the impressive food hall, which offered a vast array of delicious Japanese cuisine, sweets, and international specialties. I went only to the massive food area in basement 1. Loads of different food you can take away, high quality. Also very very good cake. My favourite was the lemon chef’s hat cheesecake from Wasayi (?). Whittamer dessert (cream puff and truffle ball) were good but not heavenly, like the cheesecake. Lots of bento boxes, tempura, sushi for takeaway, too. All high quality it I would get any of the fried stuff unless you gonna eat it just after frying.

If you love high-end Duty Free shopping when on vacation in Japan, you're most likely bound to shop at Takashimaya Department Store. They're located in Namba Station. Built right on top the JR Nankai Line which is across the street from another popular department store OIOI. First of all, there are dozens of eateries and different cuisines on the upper floors of the department store. Mostly women boutiques on multiple levels, a supermarket on the lower level with a huge food hall. Tons of coffee shops and bakeries to choose from too! If you don't feel like walking through the alleys of Namba to grab a meal, going to Takashimaya was a popular choice when traveling.

Takashimaya is a well known Japanese department store. Osaka has one that is pretty centrally located. I went here looking for pipe pillows haha. So the interior is a bit confusing and it was surprisingly pretty empty. The customers I saw were my parents age or older so I'm wondering if department stores are on the decline. The home department was on the same level as the kimonos and I found myself walking though the kimono section in awe. They were so beautiful and soooo expensive. I found the nishikawa pillow display and the two workers didn't approach me or ask if I needed help. I literally had to go up to them and ask if I could buy the pillow on display. Using my phone to translate, I figured out which one I wanted and they didn't have it in stock. So I got my second choice and spent about 8500yen. They were a little nicer once I was committed to buying the pillow and offered a bag. I don't like department stores to begin with, but it seems like Japanese department stores are even worse because they don't want to help customers and didn't have what was displayed in stock... doesn't make any sense.

The department store experience in Japan is special. Usually there is at least two basement levels of food, both prepared and unprepared. And usually at the top a section devoted to restaurant dining. Now at the top of the dept. store experience is the Takashimaya stores. The did offerings while similar seem to be a cut above what you get at other stores. We have had the opportunity to dine/shop at several different locations in Japan and they all did not disappoint. This Osaka store, located at the Namba Station area is no exception and we could have spent days trying the different offerings. The store is well position with converging subway lines and connections in the area. Shopping streets, entertainment areas are a stones throw away. Whole floors devoted to specific wants, the stars are definitely the basement food areas where you will find every imaginable sweet or savory craving at a price point that won't break the bank (in most cases.

Total amazing-ness... I love this department store because it showcases so many beautiful luxury brands, but most importantly, it has a mind blowing food hall with so many Japanese goodies that your head will spin. Located right by Namba station, the food hall is in the basement level, because let's get serious, we're all here for the food! You can get everything from snacks to smoothies to sushi to bento to re-heatable gourmet dinners. It was earnestly difficult to make a choice because I wanted to eat everything I passed by. I ended up grabbing musubi because we were headed to dinner in an hour. The woman at the counter grabbed my three musubi, wrapped each one up individually in plastic wrap, put them in a container, wrapped the container with a white parchment paper, then wrapped that container in a pretty pink paper and then tied a ribbon around it. I basically want my whole life to take on this amount of extra, extra, extra, extra perfection, just like at Takashimaya...

When travelling through Namba station, you are basically inside this Takashimaya department store location. You really cannot avoid it. While department stores are closing down in the United States left and right; leaving huge, vacant, and depressing shopping malls. Japan's department stores are still a shining beacon of everything current and modern in society. Like everything in Japan, you will see the changes in the season and feel refreshed by the change whenever walking by, even if it is just window shopping. But, my favorite time to visit is around New Years, when everything is magical and people are starting over new. The selection of stationary, calendars, planners, stickers, animatronics, and gift cards are mind-blowing. I feel that childlike excitement of new discovery.

Awesome department store, with many high end items and prices. Remember to bring your passport for tax refund.Definitely worth the visit. Make sure you stop by the food shop in the basement. Also very nice restaurants on the upper floors.

This review is only for the food and grocery level of this many storey department store. My family and I spent over two hours just exploring the many delights that Japan has to offer! There are many different stores selling various foods and Japanese specialties. We bought breakfast for the next day from the stores, as well as many snacks. I purchased a salad from one of the counters and was very disappointed - at 700￥ it was anything but cheap, but the packaging was very misleading. It appeared as if the entire box was packed with salad and rice, but in actuality, the hidden compartment which separated the salad from the rice resulted in there being empty space that occupied 50% of the total volume. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and the food was excellent! We ordered a strawberry cake from one of the counters, a well-known store, and it really opened my eyes as to the impressive standards of Japanese pastries. The cake was soft and moist, and mixed perfectly with the cream. The entire bite literally melted in your mouth. Delicious! We also purchased many other treats, such as a red bean filled pastry, chicken wings, etc. This experience has solidified my love for Japanese department stores!

High-end department store that has everything including groceries. Yes they sell clothing, shoes to hot food and groceries. It is basically a one stop big box. Service there was awesome. Everyone super friendly. There are chairs through out the department store. Just needed to find them. Also it's part of the Namba Walk mall/ subway. Very convenient location.

I always ended up coming to 高島屋大阪店 Takashimaya whenever I am in town. It is just so conveniently located in Namba near the subway/train station. The only place I had been was inside their food hall in the basement level. You can find everything you need there from some seasonal fruits and cooked food as a snack. If you drop by 30 minute before store closing, a lot of the cooked food are priced as a discount for a quick sale. Prepare to fight with all the other office ladies that are looking for a bargain too! Sushi was just ok.... but good as a midnight snack.

This is a department store which features a wide variety of products, from women's make up to marble cakes and premium chocolates! It is one of, if not, the largest and oldest chain of department stores in Japan and this particular building in Namba Osaka was the company's first flagship store in Japan built in 1932! This store focuses on providing high end products and a high level of customer service. Here you will find that there are employees waiting at every booth ready to help assist you with your shopping needs. The store itself is well organized and if there were less tourist around, it would have been probably one of the cleanest department stores I have ever shopped at!

I've been here multiple times and a couple times on my trip to japan. On my last night I was looking for japanese desserts to get my mom and was able to find them in this store. There is a such a huge selection here it was overwhelming but everyone is very helpful and friendly. The bottom floor has all the food and desserts. I wish I would've taken a picture of it all.

Absolutely fabulous food department, Takashimaya is a beautiful department store, and this trip was my first time to their Osaka location. The products are beautifully presented and of course the service is world class. They have high end designers for men and women and are presented in the typical boutique style familiar to Japanese clientele. Takashimaya Osaka is conveniently connected to Namba subway station for easy access and is a major hub for Osaka. As far as clothing goes, they have a separate annex for men's wear but is all connected so it is easy to move from department to department. The food department is massive and has Japanese foods that can be taken home if traveling as well as items that are available to eat fresh. They have everything you can imagine and more. In the food section they also have a department for fresh produce if your desire is to cook a fantastic meal. A definite place to visit if you are a true foodie! But be careful because it is very easy to get lost due to its size! Fabulous fabulous fabulous in true Japanese fashion!

Review only for fabulous food at the basement level. This was the biggest, yummiest selection of food I had ever seen in one if the department stores. They have everything!!!! Came here about 6pm just too look and it was crazy insane crowded. 2nd time we came about 11:30am and it was way more pleasant. We planned to buy food and take it to Namba Parks to sit in garden to eat. The glazed shrimp was calling my name and was crispy enough to eat the entire thing. Crab sushi was ok, looks better than it tastes. But we had to try. Would definitely come back here again. Easy to find, they are located near the Nankai Namba station. You can even get to it from the underground passages that is filled with shops. A must go to see and eat at this food frenzy area.

A reasonably high-end department store. Some beautiful clothes and accessories, but for me the real stand out is the food level in the basement. It's a foodie paradise! All kinds of wonderful food to eat for lunch and dinner but lots of alcohol, ingredients and beautiful sweets and gifts too.

I have a feeling that I'm way too poor to shop here--this department store is composed of floors and floors of luxury merchandise, attractively arranged and screaming to potential buyers. With that said, you still need to come here. The depachika or basement food floor is awesome!!!! You may not be able to afford anything else in this massive, stunning building, but you can manage to get yourself high-quality pastries and freshly prepared bento boxes. It's unbelievable that so many gourmet food shops can be housed under one roof. These food halls have been compared to Whole Foods...Yes and no. Whole Foods for the sheer variety, but somehow you still know you're in a department store because of the unfortunate fluorescent lights, a tad too bright and not as comforting. However, one could also say this is an unjust comparison because this food hall offers more than Whole Foods could ever dream of carrying. Question for more seasoned Takashimaya shoppers, where can I immediately enjoy the delicious food that I just purchased here? We had no clue. And our Japanese is...nonexistent. I guess a flip of the guidebook would have helped...

The Takashimaya flagship is located in Namba, Osaka. I think it has one of the best food halls of all the department stores--2 floors of takeout food and groceries. Everything in the food hall is super fresh and they even advise you when you need to eat it by in order to maintain the freshness. My favorite vendors in the food hall were Le Bihan, and one stand selling Kyoto style bento boxes. If I lived in Osaka I could definitely see myself shopping here every day. Also, during the holiday season the lights here are spectacular. Definitely a must-visit in Osaka!!

Its outward appearance (also inside appearance) such as curved line and arch-shaped windows, which has nostalgic mood is so graceful. It is natural that the building was registered as tangible cultural assets in 2011. I went here to see the exhibition of the late great actor, Mr. M in commemoration of his centennial birth who played a leading role in the theatrical world in Showa period. He passed away in 2009. His memorial goods such as scenarios, posters, clothes trophies and letters from familiar persons were displayed in show cases. Most of the viewers are elderly persons. A few of them are wheel-chaired persons. I think he has been loved by a lot of people. The building is very spacious. It is divided into three zones, east, cetral and west zones and I sometimes go astray in the building. Where am I now? In east, in cetral or in west? If you have some trouble in shopping, please go to the information bureau near the front entrance on the first floor. An interpreter in English and Chinese will attend you on shopping.

This is the department store in Namba. They have wide range of clothes, housewares,fresh foods, and restaurants. They are now renewing the each floor and high brand fashion store are increasing. If you would like to find Japanese fresh foods, ex. Sashimi, fruits, meats, and bento, you should go down the basement floor and find anything you want. It is next to Nankai Namba station and very near from subway and Kintetsu line. For Osaka people, Takashimaya is the symbol of Namba and always go there if need to find a good souvenir. 難波のデパート。 衣類、家庭用品、食品、レストランと一通り揃っている大型デパートです。 最近、改装していて、ハイブランドが増えたようにも思います。 もし日本の食生活を知りたい（海外からのお友達がいる）なら、ぜひ地下街へ。 刺身や肉、果物からスイーツ、お弁当まで、日本の食生活がわかる場所になっていると思います。 南海難波駅に接続し、地下鉄や近鉄の難波駅にもすぐの立地。 大阪（特に南部の）人は、お土産をさがすなら高島屋、ではないかと思います。 あと、どこのデパートでもありますが、もし年間に10万円ほど買い物するなら友の会に加入したほうがお得です。 毎月1万円の積み立てで1年後には13万円分のお買い物券がもらえます。 利率でいうと10%を超え、食品などにも使えるので重宝しますよ。
