Osamil Upstairs

This “speakeasy” can be found through Osamil's inner staircase. However, you can’t order the food from the restaurant itself, but the bar does have some bar food (we had the Upstairs “Bites” chicken and sweet potato fries - nothing special). The cocktails were slightly on the higher end -$21 and up. I had Sol, and my friend had Upstairs ($28). While both drinks were decent at the point of consumption, they didn’t leave any memorable impressions. The bar decor was nice and spacious. Service was prompt. But as far as a speakeasy goes, it didn’t land as a top one for me.

Osamil Upstairs is truly a gem that serves perhaps the best craft cocktails in Ktown. We’ve had this speakeasy on our list for a long time, and I’m glad we finally got a chance to visit. Tucked away behind a secret door and up a narrow winding staircase from the downstairs restaurant, you enter through a nondescript red door and are greeted with a posh interior with warm lighting. Our group was lucky and got the best seat in the house, in the center of the lounge and by the windows. Service was quick and the staff were extremely kind. We tried a selection of both signature and classic cocktails, and they were all spectacular. The Baebae was a group favorite: A light and refreshing concoction of soju, vodka, and pear liqueur that was perfect for the summer heat. Other notable callouts were Sol, a smoky Negroni, and their classic mezcal Negroni and Vesper martini. Do yourself a favor and check out Osamil Upstairs. We were all pleasantly surprised and I can confidently say that we’ll be back often as our go-to speakeasy around Ktown.

Ended up liking the cocktails here a lot more than I expected! However, service was not great. Felt understaffed? Of the various drinks we had, my favorites were: LP - a butter washed and peppercorn infused bourbon based drink with a cream top and lemon pepper seasoning. A little spirit forward, but cream top eases that aspect if you’re concerned about that. Smells funky, and the curdling in the glass can seem a little off putting, but if you like something a little different like me, this tasted great. Baebae - a super easy-to-drink vodka and soju drink that’s flavored with pear and honey. Pear isn’t always identifiable in drinks so I was super happy that it was so obviously pear! Everyone’s favorite. Sesame Street - strawberry lemongrass vodka and rum based drink with sesame oil, cucumber and pineapple. Refreshing, light, and I’d probably get this every time. Sol - pine needle infused Sonia based drink served with pine needle smoked glass. A little spirit forward, but less than you would expect. Interior is low-lit and beautifully decorated. Perfect for dates. Until I try this place again, my overall impression was: come for the drinks and food, but not the service. It took us forever to order, forever to get water, one of the servers didn’t seem to want to answer any questions, and curtly answered yes or no and then walked away. Felt understaffed? so maybe that was the issue.

Very cool atmosphere upstairs from the osamil restaurant. Plenty of space to sit and talk in comfy lounge chairs. Feels more elevated than your average bar - people were dressed up. Cocktails were inventive and tasty and served in beautiful glass wear. Loved it!

Such a cool speakeasy - located just one flight of stairs above osamil, you enter into this dimly light and super chic bar. They REALLY know what they’re doing with cocktails here. We sat at the bar area and it was such a chill, intimate, and classy vibe. Great date spot! On a sat night at 10pm it was busy, but not crowded or loud, so you can actually hear the person sitting next to you. We also tried the oysters and those were great as well. Highly recommend checking this spot out for some drinks. Definitely coming back to check out the lounge area

We decided to go here after dinner, we checked and the entrance and they told us that we need a reservation, but it seems the luck was on our side and because of a no show they were able to find seats for us. The place is amazing, the bartenders are awesome and the cocktails were unique, in a good way. We put this place in a list of must visit again.

Came here for a few drinks after dinner nearby. Stunning atmosphere good for both friends and romantics. The server was very nice and cocktails were lovely. Bookmarking this place for a future visit :)

I met a friend for Happy Hour at Osamil Upstairs -- my first time. Let's just say I WILL be back. I loved the warm, chic, and welcoming vibe. It felt like I was out, but at the same time in someone's thoughtfully curated and well-designed living room. The seats were comfortable. The lighting and decor were awesome. I seek out a specific vibe when I go out and Osamil Upstairs nailed it. The whole reason I came was for Happy Hour, so most importantly the DRINKS were amazing. My friend and I got the Pandora and it did not disappoint. It was beautifully crafted and delicious on a 95-degree Summer day. We stayed longer than intended, and it was just perfect. The place was also clean and the service was top notch. I'll be back, Osamil Upstairs! Keep doing what you are doing!
