Cute little BnB walking distance from downtown Anchorage. Beautiful surroundings and lovely historical house. Jen and Dan were wonderful hosts - Dan’s breakfast was delicious whereas Jen’s advice on what to see and where to eat in Anchorage was extremely useful! Highly recommended!

I stayed at the Oscar Gill House B&B 3 nights, and absolutely loved it! It is a beautiful historic house, with just the right balance of the cozy atmosphere of a historic home along with all the modern comforts and conveniences, such as a jacuzzi tub, beautifully updated fixtures and kitchen, and free wifi. The breakfasts were fabulous! The location was perfect for me - just far enough from the heart of downtown to be peaceful and quiet but close enough to be a quick and easy bike ride away, and close to the water and easy access to trails. I loved that they had bikes available for me to use. Thank you, Susan and Mark! I very much enjoyed meeting you both and chatting with you, and the next time I'm in Anchorage I will definitely be back!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at this fantastic B&B, even though we were only there for one night. Susan made a great breakfast and it was fascinating to hear stories from past guest’s experiences in Alaska. We just wish we had stayed there at the beginning of our trip instead of at the end because we learned so much! What truly made our experience unforgettable was that Susan even drove us to the airport. I’ve never experienced such super hospitality before. We highly recommend this B&B!

Sue and Mark are very experienced and excellent B&B hosts. They know just the level of interaction to give. As much information as you want or need for local sites and restaurants and enough space to let you relax on your own with the freedom to come and go as you need. The Oscar Gill House is perfectly located close to downtown (an easy walk to many restaurants and bars) but set on a city park that gives it separation and breathing room from the bustle and noise. The room (we stayed in #1) was very comfortable with a large bathroom and jacuzzi tub and shower. Everything was very clean and fresh and the breakfast was do die for, fresh ingredients, local breads and maple syrup, fresh coffee, juice, fruit, everything just great. I highly recommend the Oscar Gill House and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Anchorage.

This would be up there with one of the best in B&B's we have stayed in around the world. Mark and Susan have all the extra little comforts of home to make you fee relaxed. Very helpful planning activities and making suggestions. We stayed in the room with an ensuite and spa bath, which was appreciated after all the walking. There are only two other rooms in the B&B so it's a nice change to get away from the hotel routine without hoards of other people. The breakfasts were large and beautifully cooked.

This welcoming historical b&b is within walking distance of downtown visitor's attractions. It has a beautiful yard for sitting outside in the summer. The breakfast is fantastic. We stayed two nights and two in our party of four were even upgraded to the suite for one night when it was available. It's quite reasonable when compared with other Anchorage rates. Thanks Mark, Susan, and Rosemary!

My husband and I stayed at Oscar Gill House for two nights in September, 2012. This beautiful, historic inn is absolutely charming! When we walked inside, we felt like we’d stepped back in time to 1913, when the house was built. The owners, Mark and Susan, have tastefully and thoughtfully restored the home and filled it with period furniture and antiques. The historic details make it feel like a museum, but it’s also very homey and comfortable and fully-updated with modern amenities. || ||We loved our room (Room #1). The bed was very comfortable and the bed linens beautiful and luxurious. The bathroom was immaculately clean, had plenty of fluffy towels, robes, fancy bath products, and a wonderful Jacuzzi tub! Even the knick-knacks on the shelves and some clothing items hanging in the closet were antiques, which added to the feeling of authenticity and charm. This was not your run-of-the-mill hotel or B&B room, but something truly unique and special. ||||We thought the location of Oscar Gill was great. It’s close to the water and just a short walk (about 10 minutes) from downtown. || ||Mark and Susan are very friendly people and made us feel right at home. At breakfast, we enjoyed hearing Susan’s tales of interesting guests they’ve had through the years and about their experiences in Alaska. A lot of the time, Mark and Susan weren’t at the house because they have other jobs, but that was perfectly fine with us. || ||The homemade breakfasts were served family-style and were very good. They were not over-the-top huge like we have had elsewhere, but we found them to be just the right amount of food. || ||I think I almost cried when it was time to leave Oscar Gill House. We highly recommend this lovely inn and hope to return someday. It is the perfect blend of old-fashioned charm and modern comfort/convenience.

We stayed one night at the Oscar Gill House. The owners have done an amazing job of renovating this historic house (it is the oldest house in town). The three rooms are comfortable and the breakfast was great. Two of the rooms share a bath and the other room has a private bath. We shared a bath and did not have an issue ever having to wait to use it. We wished we could have stayed longer here.

We had a lovely stay here for four nights during the Anchorage International Film Festival in December. The Oscar Gill House is jam-packed with vintage, cozy charm. Mark and Susan are wonderful hosts, and make a terrific breakfast, too!
