Oscar's Hotel & Cafe Bar

We recently had a fantastic stay at Oscars just before Christmas. The room was clean , airy and very comfortable. Bed was especially good and the bathroom facilities were excellent. Highly recommend this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful even though they were super busy with a full dining area. We would definitely stay again

Popped in for a meal on thursday evening without a booking. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us with a table, promptly offered drinks and took orders. Meals arrived in a very timely manner, portion sizes and presentation were bang on and the taste was sensational. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. A must for a great meal.

We stayed 2 nights in Room 1 which had a rattling A/C unit which ruined our sleep during a hot night on our first night. Also when we had dinner downstairs which was fantastic we were served by a staff member who really didn’t enjoy serving customers was so grumpy and disinterested but what we had to eat was fantastic and when we come again to Ballarat we may come back, if only for the food. Sadly car parking is first in first serve for hotel guests, which was inconvenient being that there was some doggy youths frequenting the area. Would be nice if the rooms had cereal bowls but as a bonus the showers are amazing and have double heads for couples. We wanted to share our thoughts of our stay but no staff attend to the reception early in the morning.

Dinner at Oscar’s. An elegant but relaxed venue. Difficult to choose a meal from the varied menu. All meals sounded great. Finally settled on the Lamb Cutlets which were delicious. Prompt friendly service.

Had a fantastic evening of laughter while enjoying the delicious Atlantic Salmon! While I didn't have room for dessert, last time I did and it didn't disappoint! The staff and waitresses were helpful and lovely, definitely one of my go to restaurants in town!

We came here for dinner and very impressed with the inviting ambience, spacious dining area and customer service. The food? Absolutely delicious. We ordered; crumbed lamb cutlets, atlantic salmon and roasted pumpkin risotto. Highly recommend.

Service was great from all the staff. Food was lovely. A big thank you to Brett for my daughters frog in a pond ...(was a lovely suprise) so kind. We will definitely be back.

An impromptu visit to Ballarat so we were walk-ins. Oscars was a find. The art deco building isn't so attractive from the street but once inside the feel is warm and welcoming, the staff super friendly and helpful, our room was very nice (room 7) and good value, and the bar/restaurant light, airy and comfortable. And it's right in the centre of town. We'd happily return.

Honestly, I found this pub to be rather dull, but I suspect that that might have had something to do with it basically being the bistro of a proper hotel as opposed to a pub. Still, it really wasn't a place that grabbed my imagination, particularly since there was a limited number of beers on tap as well. Still, the place was okay, just not great.

Staying at the Ballarat Premier Apartments around the corner and Oscars offer a delivery service to your room! I had a pizza and chicken salad and both were delicious. Pizza was warm not hot but as it's the middle of winter and about 0 degrees outside u won't blame this on the restaurant. Salad was huge so managed to have some for lunch the next day also. Would absolutely recommend this place as somewhere to grab a mean whilst in Ballarat

Excellent food, impeccable service and over the top ambience... highly recommend. Referred by a woman working in a store around the corner... she was right on. We had satay beef, spinach, pumpkin, tomatoes with sweet chilli sauce with chips.
