Oscars in Ballarat is a lovely place to catch up with friends, especially for a relaxed weekend brunch. The space is warm and inviting, with plenty of room for groups, and they make things easy by offering split payments—a big plus when dining with a crowd. The cocktails were excellent, well-made and thoughtfully presented. They added a fun, celebratory touch to the morning and were definitely one of the highlights of our visit. While the overall experience was great, I did order a pizza that unfortunately fell short—it was a bit dry and lacked the bold flavor I was hoping for. That said, the rest of the menu looked appealing, and I’d love to come back and try something different next time. The service was friendly and efficient, and the vibe was laid-back and comfortable. Oscars is a solid pick for brunch or a casual get-together, with plenty of charm and good drinks to enjoy along the way.

Best breakfast I have eaten for a long time. Great gluten free and vegan options. They took great care to ensure my breakfast met my dietary needs. My eggs were beautifully cooked and the vegetables were so fresh and delicately prepared. Just beautiful food.

Last Sunday (Easter Sunday) we celebrated my dad's 90th birthday at Oscars and I cannot say just how happy and grateful we are to have chosen this venue for our little lunch celebration. Though our group was only very small (10 in the end) we had our own private room which was very lovely and nice and quiet. All the staff were fantastic and so helpful and obliging and friendly. The food (we all chose what we liked from the great menu) was delicious - everyone loved what they chose and they were happy to accommodate us bringing a cake - supplying us with everything we needed. I cannot recommend Oscars highly enough....we all loved it and even one of our party from Seaford is now planning to have her 80th birthday here next year!!! Thank you Oscars and your fabulous staff for a great lunch event. :)

Location was easy to find in the heart of Ballarat. Very busy restaurant with a great atmosphere. Service was good though we waited quite a long time for our meal. I'll put this down to the fact that they were very busy. When the food came though it was very nice. I had the chicken tagliatelle and it was delicious. My wife had the parma and it was huge and she said it was very nice too. Highly recommend Oscar's

Huge clean room with high ceilings and french doors onto own balcony. Comfortable bed and huge double shower. Accommodation is on the first floor so there are stairs to climb. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food and service was excellent. Staff were very pleasant. Would love to stay again. Only one small fault was the bath towels, they were well worn and in need of replacement.

My guest and I shared arancini for entree and each ordered the chicken and pumpkin tagliatelle. We were both so happy with our meals. Succulent chicken, lovely silky pasta and delicious flavour. Wait staff were polite and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will be back often

Took a while to be noticed we had been standing at the matre de counter for our booking. Oscars were maybe at a quarter capacity with ample staff distracted with each other. Instead of being walked to our table, the lass pointed and said the number "over there". Not being a regular, I'm not familiar with the table numbers. We were seated at a table where the side supports on the chairs were broken off. Not sure why the broken chairs would be on the floor - detracts from the quality environment. Whether it was to make up for the poor introduction from the venue, we had three wait staff waiting on us which unfortunately after repeating give us 5 minutes twice to each staff member gave the impression we were being hurried. The meals were delightful. The coffees were cups of milk with a dash of colour. All in all not an adventure to be repeated.

Love this place. I now go regularly for brunch/lunch. Thanks for always being great, food is always consistently great. Haven't had a bad meal yet

Honestly, I found this pub to be rather dull, but I suspect that that might have had something to do with it basically being the bistro of a proper hotel as opposed to a pub. Still, it really wasn't a place that grabbed my imagination, particularly since there was a limited number of beers on tap as well. Still, the place was okay, just not great.

Staying at the Ballarat Premier Apartments around the corner and Oscars offer a delivery service to your room! I had a pizza and chicken salad and both were delicious. Pizza was warm not hot but as it's the middle of winter and about 0 degrees outside u won't blame this on the restaurant. Salad was huge so managed to have some for lunch the next day also. Would absolutely recommend this place as somewhere to grab a mean whilst in Ballarat

Excellent food, impeccable service and over the top ambience... highly recommend. Referred by a woman working in a store around the corner... she was right on. We had satay beef, spinach, pumpkin, tomatoes with sweet chilli sauce with chips.
